AP News. I'm Edonahue, just as Samuel Alito is rejecting calls to step aside from some Supreme Court cases because of controversy over flags flying over his homes. In Letters to Lawmakers, Alito says his wife was responsible for flying an upside-down flag at their home three years ago, and an appeal-to-heaven flag at their New Jersey Beach House last year. Both flags were carried by rioters during the 2021 Capitol attack. The Supreme Court is considering two major cases related to the riot, and Alito says neither flag incident merits stepping aside from them. In nearly identical letters to House and Senate Democrats, Alito writes he was unaware the upside-down flag was flying at his house until it was brought to his attention. He says he asked his wife to take it down, which he refused for several days. Sagar, Megani, Washington. On a social media network, former President Donald Trump wrote, "There is no crime. Jury deliberations have started in New York in Trump's Hush Money trial. The AP's Michael Sisak is outside the courthouse." Ultimately, it could find Trump guilty, not guilty. Or if it goes on long enough, there could be a hung jury and a mistrial. The jury can also find Trump guilty on some charges, not guilty on others, guilty on all, not guilty on all. The jury must be unanimous in its finding. That means all 12 jurors must agree either way. Charges have been dismissed in Louisville against golfer Scotty Shepler. He was stopped during the PGA Championship by an officer directing traffic after a pedestrian death. Shepler's attorney, Steve Romine, says it's all a misunderstanding. He had been directed, as other players were, how to proceed into Valhalla. That's what he was doing. And, you know, when this occurred, obviously, tensions were high. Israel's military says it has ceased control of the entire length of Gaza's border with Egypt, near Rafa. This is AP News. Another US military MQ-9 Reaper drone has gone down in Yemen. That's according to images posted online on Wednesday. It wasn't immediately clear what brought down the drone, but the military's central command has acknowledged seeing reports of the aircraft being downed in a desert region of Yemen's central Marib province. The down incomes, as Yemen's Houthi rebels continue their attacks on shipping around the Red Sea over the Israel Hamas war. Authorities in Marib, which remains held by allies of Yemen's exiled government, did not immediately acknowledge the drone, nor did the Houthis, who previously have shot down MQ-9s amid the war. I'm Charles D'Litesma. An international investigation is homing in on a gang of robbers believed to be responsible for a brazen multi-million dollar jewelry heist two years ago at an art show in the Netherlands. Two stolen gemstones have been recovered. Police believe the suspects are from Serbia. I'm Ed Donahue, AP News. You see a family SUV. We see a support system for more than 960 wildlife species.
