Welcome everyone to the spotlight here on Fightful. I'm Jeremy Lambert. That is Stephen Jensen and shout out as always. Probably move my mic a little bit closer. Shout out as always to Big Dick, MLJ for the intro. It is Thursday, May 30th. Jensen, how you doing buddy? Doing good man. Just getting into the swing of things. Good to see everyone here early in the chat. And if you watch this later on, thank you for watching On Demand right here on youtube.com/fightful. A lot of good stuff to talk about y'all today. Also got a good interview today with y'all from a content creator called DePorticus, who I came across on YouTube. Newer Pro Wrestling fan, B.W.B fan, really jumped into it over the last year or so. WrestleMania 39, this is Introduction to Pro Wrestling. He's making really good YouTube content, Twitch streaming, all that kind of stuff. So I think you guys are going to really enjoy the interview later today with DePorticus. But yeah man, not a whole lot really going on with me. No NBA last night, which was different because that's been on almost like every night lately. You know what's the hockey Jensen? A little bit. I watched a little bit of the hockey with the friends getting eliminated, not as much of the hockey, and my what's called gambling, if you will. It hasn't gotten great on the hockey. I do better on the NBA. But I'm looking forward to watching the game tonight. So hopefully the T-wills keep winning. What about the WNBA? Haven't watched a whole lot of that. I mean, I think that it's cool that Caitlyn Clark has generated so much interest in the league, though. And I definitely respect what they're, you know, women's sports have been the easiest, right, for them historically getting like interested in a lot of their sports and stuff. The WNBA has been around a long time and they've essentially been funded by the NBA like the whole time. Like it's a league that historically has probably lost a lot of money I'd imagine. But they have a lot of really hardcore fans and they're getting a lot more fans because of Caitlyn. I actually, one of the first things I ever did when I got into like the real world after college was I interned for the National Sports Council. And that was like a part of my, technically that was a part of my degree. It was added to an internship. So one of the first big events I ever worked in my life was the women's final four for basketball for college. They had that at Bridgestone Arena back in, this would have been like 2011. And like that fan base was like pro wrestling. Like they were all wearing like jerseys and had like these like patches of all these different players and accomplishments and like they were super, super into it. And I was like, yeah, I didn't know people got this type of women's basketball. I had no idea. I haven't seen anything like that until like recently for Caitlyn Clark for the WNBA, which, you know, good, good for them. I mean, I know that I can't remember the name of the arena that the Atlanta team plays in, but I looked up their tickets. I looked at their schedule when it came out just because I saw that they were playing Caitlyn Place with the Indiana team, right? Yeah. So I just looked just to see like what ticket prices looked like because I was already getting interested because I'm like, yeah, I've seen it for highlights. I've seen some of her games. Like I think the hype's pretty incredible that she's kind of like Tiger Woods in a lot of ways. Like people didn't care that much about hockey in the 90s. Sorry about about a golf in the 90s and the Tiger Woods, you know what I mean? He came around and people started paying attention, a lot more people. So I looked and I was like pretty much like the day that the schedule dropped, those tickets were almost sold out. Like none of the other games, her tickets for her game were like sold out like immediately. Oh man, I was like, damn, like she's going out and fell in arenas. So that's what I like to really say about the WNBA. I don't know a whole lot about it to be honest because I don't really follow it, but I think it's pretty incredible that Caitlyn Clark has generated so much interest. I see all these haters on her too and stuff saying all this stuff about how she doesn't deserve it. And I'm like, dude, people should be grateful if somebody comes around that could generate that much interest in this sport. Like people don't care that much about up until then. You know what I mean? Like that's pretty huge. I have watched more WNBA this season than I've probably ever watched in my life. I watched it for a little while down in Tarazzi. I was now she's kind of like Caitlyn Clark Hader, but she's still in the league. But you know, that UConn team, I kept up with them. And then Tarazzi, when she came into the WNBA. But I've actually watched a little bit of WNBA this year. It's fun. I do get the hate because it's the world we live in, sadly. But it's unfortunate that that's how the coverage is. But the coverage is like that across a lot of sports where people tend to go to the negative or the comparison routes and it doesn't always need to be like that. Look, we're guilty of it as well on this channel. It's kind of a natural thing to do. I think that's just sort of how in some ways discourse has, I don't even think it's evolved. That's just how it's played out. And it certainly happened with that in the WNBA. Now granted, a lot of the hate goes way too far and we do any of that. But you know, that's just how a lot of it is gone. Yeah, the Henry's negative route gets more clicks and views. It's sad, but it's true. It just is. Yeah, I think that the WNBA is smart with how it's marketing their product right now as well. Like most of the commercials and stuff I see about it or any like people kind of talking about it can kind of advertise it to get people to try to tune in. It's a lot about like, if you miss kind of like the fundamentals of watching basketball when you watch the NBA, like the WNBA might be something that you like because in the NBA, obviously this players are insanely skilled and insanely athletic. But it's the critiques that I have about watching some NBA games, kind of like what I was talking about with you last week where like when I watch the Celtics, it's like brown touches the ball. And I'm just expecting him to like not pass it. Like I think he's going to just go one on one with somebody. Everyone else kind of gets out of the way. And there's other players that are like that too. But I had also mentioned there are certain teams that I really like when I watch and they're really passing the ball around and like creating open shots and stuff and the teamwork and like that's what's getting their wins versus like individual players just kind of balling out, which is kind of contradictory because like my favorite player to watch is lamella ball, who pretty much just plays put up with street ball in the NBA. And I think it's super entertaining. So I'm not really knocking Brown or really anything. I'm just saying like I do appreciate the teamwork aspect of like setting plays up and stuff as well. And I feel like that's kind of what the WNBA is trying to go for. I know Caitlyn Clark herself, she's a big superstar. She's taken three that are like way beyond the three point line and stuff like that. But like from the most part a little bit that I've seen it seems like it is a lot of like because one thing you're not going to see in the WNBA is like them dunking the ball like effort. You know what I mean? Like there are certain things you're just not going to see. So they're going to have to set up plays and get open and take shots all over the court. And I think that's you know, I think that's appealing to a lot of people. It might be kind of sick of like, you know, seeing superstars, you know, just kind of be superstars in the NBA. You can see people kind of getting back. I don't know much about college basketball. I know that you know, I know March Madness obviously is massive every year and stuff like that. But I don't know. I guess it's just good for basketball in general. I can't imagine that Caitlyn Clark having the success is bad for the sport of basketball in any way. You know what I mean? Bad in that it brings idiots to the sport. Yeah, but that's going to happen everywhere. Like anything that's successful. You're going to have people come around that find out about it that are jerks. You know what I mean? It's almost like a sign that you're doing something right when you start getting haters. As weird as that is. A super chat from Chatellenspers who says, I was flipping between three different WNBA games on Monday. Like it's full of new stars and names that I remember when they were in college killing it. Yeah, I agree with that. I don't flip through a bunch of the games, but I do keep up a lot on the scores nowadays and I see a lot of highlights. If you guys really want to, he's great in the NBA as well. Nikias Duncan on Twitter, he's a wrestling fan too. So you're not just getting basketball from him. He is very good at, he live watches games and will have clips and breakdown plays and everything. And then he does that post games as well. So you can watch him live, kind of do that on his Twitter. And then like a day later, he'll go back and rewatch stuff and clip stuff and break things down. He does this for NBA and WNBA. And he's also a wrestling fan too. So he was like tweeting about double or nothing and everything. So you're not getting just basketball, but I think he's he's a really great follow. There you go. You can follow him on socials if you would on Twitter. You're like, all right, let's get into it. We've got a lot of wrestling to talk about. Guys, leave a super chat on the video. Leave a thumbs up on the video. Leave a comment on, leave a comment on iTunes, leave a review on iTunes, if you would, that helps us out as well. Anyway, you can help support. We appreciate that. And subscribe to Fightful Select, subscribe to this channel, subscribe to Fightful Over Book. Like, Rachel Ellering is a big WNBA fan, her and Chris Hiro go to a lot of games and you know, take that all that in. I would actually love that, but Rachel on this show or in the weeds, just talking about WNBA along with wrestling. But yeah, all right, here we go. Seems like everyone in the chat is a is pretty into the NBA talk except for Maggie. So that's pretty good. Sorry, everyone on demand who watches this later on on like recording that has no interest as fast forward to fall too late now. But anyway, those will scrub the. Yeah, a little scrub the playing. They'll see when the hit the bumper and I'm like, okay, this is when the topics actually start. Yeah, it's a point of the bumper. So everyone knows when the topics actually start. I think everybody knows by now we spend the first 10, 15 minutes just talking about not wrestling. All right, here we go. Let's get into eight of you. Over a million fans and a great number in the demo tuned in and it was a great show. And I think it's been a run of great shows. AEW lots to talk about coming off of AEW Double or Nothing and AEW Dynamite last night. So we'll kind of we'll jump around a little bit between the pay-per-view and what happened last night. But I know your spotlight for this particular episode was Will Osprey winning the international title at Double or Nothing defeated Roderick Strong and then winning the casino gauntlet last night on Dynamite to earn a shot. The AEW world title and Swerve Strickland had forbidden door. So what do you think Jensen? They're going full bore with Osprey here. I mean, the international title thing we both called, you know, for the second that that match was announced with Roddy. We were like, you know, what was it? This is never anything. It's Roger Strong. We've made that really clear. We're Roddy fans of his in-ring work. But it was obvious, excuse me, it was obvious that Osprey had to win that match. Now, what I didn't expect was him to win that match and then immediately become the number one contender for the world title. Although I had floated the idea in previous weeks of combining the international and world title, like getting rid of the international title and just, you know, consolidating it with the world title. This is actually a point that I just want to bring up really quick. It's a bit of a sidebar, but it, it full circle with the interview later. Did you get a chance to watch to Porticus's AEW double or nothing video yet? I've not gotten a chance to watch it yet. No. Okay. One of the, I won't spoil the whole video. People go check it out. But one of the things that he mentions is, yes, Maggie, I'm wearing an undertaker being almost wore a John Cena shirt also. I'll say that for another week. The guys who saved Cody, you're going to be getting a lot of respect, you know, all these weeks. Gotta get some heat here, probably too. One thing that DePortacus mentions. Now for context, everyone, DePortacus started watching wrestling at WrestleMania 39, but has not missed one Raw or Smackdown sense, has gone to a bunch of live shows and stuff like that and just watched AEW for the first time. Check that double or nothing this past weekend. And one of the things that he mentioned about the show, which he overall enjoyed the show, but he mentions he's like, what's the hierarchy of the titles? And it felt like there was a title in every single match and there were like 12 matches. And it's like, yeah, that's even somebody who we talk about that all the time, where it's like, I don't know if I was watching AEW for the first time, and I saw the TNT title, the Continental title, the International title, the FTW title, the World title, and so on and so forth. I would, if you saw Ring of Water titles popping up, he was really confused about the Bang Bang game. He was like, there's three people and nine titles. And I was like, I've been saying that on our show. So he's like, there's more, he's like the Bang Bang gang holds more titles than the WWE has. That's pretty hilarious when you think about that. So I think that they should get rid of the international title. If they're gonna just have the international champion wrestling, the world champion anyways. I know that Osprey said in the post-fight scrum that he would like to defend the international title all over the world, like not just in AEW. And I think that would have been a great thing for the international title. If that was a thing that was done consistently, we've seen a little bit of it in the history of the title. But I've said it before, and I'll say it again, you definitely don't need an international and a continental title. You're just making two titles as the intercontinental title, essentially. And they're gonna do the continental classic anyways every year. And if they want to have a title online for that, that's fine. But like, anyway, that's not like a critique of all this, I guess, is like, I don't know, you just don't need but like, it's gonna be title versus title. Is it gonna be just like, I mean, because if Osprey loses and he's securing the international title, people are still gonna remember like, well, he lost his word. Like, so it's kind of devalues it a little bit in some ways. It's hard. It's hard. I think people understand kind of what I'm saying though, just it's strange to book him to win that title and then immediately be challenging for the world title. And also, like, do you have, do you have Osprey beat Swerve this fast and then going to Wembley with the title? Yes. I agree. I agree. And then once again, that's nothing against Swerve. We were both advocating for Swerve to win the ballot, you know what I mean? But like, I think that's the move too. So I guess the answer to these questions for me, Jeremy, I mean, you kind of like, why do you think that Osprey should win? I mean, the obvious being that all in is gonna be in Wembley. And then like, do you think they just need to get rid of the international title? Like, if Osprey wins international, then wins the world title, he should just be the world champion. And they should just get rid of that other title, I feel like. Quickly, a superstar. Swerve says, I love this move. One of my biggest issues with AW recently are people never winning or losing, depending on where they are on the card. Give me more big time matches. No need to wait. Like, I agree with that. I'm fine with them doing Osprey and Swerve this early. No issue with that at all. I do think, by the way, I think Swerve is going to win. I think it's too early to take the title off of him. I do think Swerve is going to win. I would probably go with Osprey. And I like Louis' idea of hangman costing Swerve because that's a built-in that you can go with. Or hangman just returning after Swerve does win and hangman confronting him. Here's my worry with Osprey and Swerve. And it's a good worry to have. In some ways, Osprey's the guy. He's the bigger star out of the two right now. The presentation of the two. Swerve's a babyface. And his reactions are not anything compared to what Osprey is getting right now. Osprey is getting the much bigger reactions. And those reactions are only, that's really going to be highlighted now that they're going to be in same segments moving forward in this next month. I think you're going to hear just the difference in reactions between Osprey and Swerve. Osprey, look, Osprey could take the loss. I have no people are saying Osprey could take the loss where it should win. I totally 100% agree with that. He could take the loss. He will be fine. This is why I think Swerve is probably going to win because I think they can deal with an Osprey loss. And he'll be perfectly fine. I'm just talking about based on reaction, based on maybe potential direction. Osprey might be the better choice right now. And that's no knock on Swerve. It's partly the way they the presentation of him in since winning the title where he's had a lot of kind of 50/50 matches with guys he should have beaten a lot quicker. And then the Christian Cage feud was fine, but it wasn't anything to write home about. Christian was there. He got the title shot off of the elite. It was a fine match, but it was OK. Again, Osprey, the reactions he's getting, he can't ignore that kind of stuff. You can't. Well, think about the reaction him at Wembley as him as a champion going into that stadium would be. I mean, that's what and that's the main reason, by the way, everyone in the chat that strongly disagrees with, you know, Osprey beating Swerve. I'm not. Listen, and the reason that I'm saying the things I'm saying is because like Ratmore at me, right, like in my kind of perfect scenario, like this wouldn't be I'm not like, let me go this way. I want to see Swerve versus Osprey, obviously. Like, I want to see that match. Swerve is killing it. He is a world champion, deserves it, should have a lengthy title run. It shouldn't end. It shouldn't end quickly. It shouldn't end as fast as for Ben Gore. I grew with all these things. I also would not have booked Osprey versus Swerve right now. Like, if I was Tony Khan, I would have waited a little bit. Now, I also understand you don't want to wait forever. If things happen, people get injured, so I would have contracts. I'll never forgive AEW for not giving us Cody Rose versus Sting. Okay? They drew a slow play that and it's never going to happen now unless Sting winds up in the WWE. So I think that I agree with pretty much everything everyone's saying here, but in the back of my mind, I'm like, but then there's Wimbley right around the corner. Like, do you really have it? It isn't so much about Osprey taking a loss because, like, I think, like everyone's saying, I think, it's okay. Like, Osprey doesn't need to be undefeated his entire AEW career. Like, if Osprey lost to Swerve, I really don't have an issue with that. But my, where my wheels are spinning is like, okay, he loses to Osprey. Or sorry, Osprey loses to Swerve for Ben and Door. And then you're just setting up Osprey for like a midcard, maybe co-main event match at Wimbley for the international title. I just feel like if Wimbley's going to be Osprey in the world title, it just kind of, unless they're going to wait another year to do that. But I mean, once again, a lot of things can happen in a year. What if, God forbid, what if Osprey gets hurt? What if, you know, what if something happens? So we're like, you can't do that an entire year from now at Wimbley. Like, speaking about capitalizing on stuff, we want to capitalize on getting Swerve and Osprey in the ring together as fast as we can to make sure it happens for sure. But you also want to make sure you get your moment of Osprey as the world champion at Wimbley too. I mean, you don't want to not be able to do that. I feel like whether he wins the title there or goes in at the champion. So I'm not, I'm not sold on the idea that Osprey needs to be the world champion going into Wimbley or that Osprey needs to win the world title at Wimbley. I know a lot of people are, have been married to that idea since Osprey signed. I've not fully been married to that idea. I think that's just been a lot of, a lot of just fantasy booking, which fair. I mean, we all do it. We're doing it literally right now. Like, so I'm not sold that that's something that needs to happen. But Osprey is going to get the biggest reaction on that show. And that's why everybody's like, okay, put the world title on them, have the world title match. There's plenty for Osprey to do. We could likely potentially still be the international champion. You can have, I don't know if he's going to have a rematch against Danielson. I see somebody saying that I think they're really trying to do Danielson and Nigel if both men are healthy because they've seemed like it was a real possibility last year. And then it obviously didn't happen because Danielson was hurt. They continue to tease on commentary and through interviews and everything seems like Dani or Nigel is healthy enough to at least do one match. So this would be the match to do as long as Danielson is healthy. Nigel got ready last year for it, right? Like he was ready to know if they needed him. So I mean, hopefully he gets his chance. That's what I would want to see. I want to Danielson and Nigel. With Osprey and Swerve, here's the reason why I kind of think you maybe go Osprey here. So yeah, I'm looking largely on reaction. And I worry that this next month or so, Swerve, the reactions become less for him because they're putting him against Osprey. The match is going to be great. And the match is going to get a big reaction. There's a risk that the crowd almost deflates a little when Swerve wins because they want Osprey. And Swerve is a babyface. You don't want to deflate the crowd with a babyface victory. Now, look, they could book this in a way over the next month where Swerve does actually gain the bigger reactions. And they almost heal Osprey because you have the callous attachment still, but I don't think that's going to happen. There's no real indication that's going to happen. If anything swerve has the more healish tendencies, which that's what got him over in the first place, that's the only concern for me. And it's, I feel it's a big concern. It's crowd reaction. That's what a lot of wrestling is based on. I would worry about kind of deflating the crowd with a babyface victory here. That's just weird. I think that, and I've seen some people in the chat say this, I could see, so I agree with everything you're saying, like, Osprey's for sure going to get the biggest reaction at Wembley regardless. And if he goes into the, it depends the international championship against someone good, like, I'm not going to really complain about that depending on what the main event winds up being, or that might even be the main event. Maybe Osprey still, I mean, I think it'd be a little strange for international championship to be an event Wembley, if like the world titles on the line earlier in the show. The world title is going to, yeah, I think the world title is going to make it because the winner of the Owen gets the world title match now. Right, right. So, and we don't even know who's going to be involved in that yet. So there, there's a lot of possibilities there, but like, I, I could see them doing Swerve versus Hangman in the main event for that show for the world title. I think that's, if you're not going to do Osprey in there, I think that Swerve versus Hangman is probably the best option. And maybe some sort of stipulation again, like maybe like a two out of three falls to like settle the score or some sort of, you know, I don't know, there's a lot of stipulations you can go with. We've already seen like a last man standing match and some pretty brutal stuff between the two of them, obviously. But, but yeah, I think that that's probably a good way to blow off the whole thing between the two of them. Would you have Swerve retain over Hangman or do you think Hangman should win there if that happens? At all in, I think the better story is Hangman winning, but I could see them going with the Swerve victory just in the show on a babyface victory. Well, I think the best storytelling, by the way, that I think they could do here would be Hangman and Swerve at all. Because that's a long term story that has plenty of meat to it. Hangman desperate to take the title off of Swerve and coming back, winning the Owen, earning his title shot, not just being gifted a title shot or anything, earning the title shot, and then beating Osprey or beating Swerve at all. I think that's the best story that they can do. Whether they do it, don't know. Yeah. And Maggie mentioned the, I was actually going to bring this up and why Maggie reminded me. At some point, I think Swerve is going to represent Team AEW in the AEW versus the Elite feud. And Swerve is actually kind of alluded to that himself and previous promos being like, you know, for AEW. And I think that Hangman will eventually side with the Elite when he comes back. So like, I could see both of these guys being involved in that story also, like coming out of Wembley too. So there's a lot you can do with both these guys. All good options. These are all really good problems to have, by the way. I mean, yeah. Like, I fully agree with that people. I don't understand people that are criticizing. I mean, I do because people are going to be people. But we're getting Swerve and Hangman, or sorry, Swerve and Osprey where it's like, Oh God. Oh no. Neither guy can afford a loss who's going to win. Well, one of them can afford a loss. It'll be fine. Whoever loses this. Certainly Osprey is not going where I don't think Swerve, if he loses the title here, is dead or anything. He's got the whole Hangman feud. He's even got the Elite feud that they can, you made mention too, that they can do the title would make it more important if the world title is involved in that feud. But they can do it without the title and it'll still feel important because the Elite feels like one of the biggest things on the shows. We need more matches where it's like, Oh, who is actually going to win? Because it's been, it's certainly the last show, Double or Nothing. A lot of the winners felt pretty straightforward. Like it was, it seemed like a pretty straightforward show to me. I know there were some where it's like, Oh, who's who's going to win this? But the Double or Nothing felt like, Yeah, this person's probably going to win. This one feels like, Oh, I don't know who's going to win. Good need more of that. Yeah, I think when we went through our predictions, we agreed on all but the orange Cassidy pick, which I took orange Cassidy to the trend. I think outside of that, we all took the same people. And I think we were all right for every prediction for the show because it was fairly predictable on the outcomes, which like Harry says in the chat, or sorry, Henry says in the chat, you know, people complain about matches being predictable. And then they do the match and complain, which is very true. I mean, like it's a great, it's great that we're in positions as wrestling fans were a guy like Swerve and a guy like Heyman are so over in their own respective ways that like, you know, it's like it matters. I think they just made matters like it matters who wins and matters who loses, but like it only matters because you care about both the people and they're they're seeing as like, important. So that's best. It kind of reminds me of being a kid like when I was a kid watching WCW growing up and like I didn't know anything yet about like the backstage stuff or whatever. I'm just watching two wrestlers on the screen. I love that time of my life as a wrestling fan because I thought I never knew who was going to win any match. Every single match I'll watch. I was like, who's going to win this? It was the biggest deal ever because I was like, I just, you know what I mean? I just, I love, I love that feeling. So it's why I get jealous of some like deporticus who he interviewed later who's like getting to live that feeling every week of like, all this is so new. You don't know what to expect. I like, I like, I like that aspect of it. So it's, it's a great, one thing on another great problem to have where we're like swerve versus hangman is going to be a banger match. They've had a banger feud. It's only going to be even bigger and better, especially if hangman wins the Owen to, you know, get his title shot and all this stuff. And if the one thing we were going to complain about is like, well, someone's got to lose. Imagine the complaints of neither of them lost. If there was a draw or a D here or something, I'd be even way bigger of a problem than somebody winning or somebody losing. You know what I mean? So I think that people are in point that are bringing up that kind of point as well. Like, I mean, we're, if the biggest complaint you can make is one of the, someone has to win and someone has to lose. I mean, that's, that's sports. You know what I mean? Yeah, they get, I don't have an issue with them doing this match. I think it's going to be a great match. We can all agree with that. I think it's a good problem to have of, oh no, which over guy are we going to put our world championship on? Right. There's worst problems to have. And wrestling, we're just talking about it from getting fan perspective, what could happen, what might happen, what we think is going to happen. But it's a good problem to have. I'm not complaining that we're doing swerve and osprey because if we didn't do it here, I think we all thought all in is when we were going to do it. And at all in, you're looking at the same issue, people I think would be more open to the idea of osprey winning because it's at Wembley, because swerve's title run would have another month or two months added to it from there. So I think they'd look at, okay, yeah, maybe it's time to put the bell on swerve. It's a, it's an issue now because swerve's title reign is short right now. And osprey is so over right now. And then when I say issue, you can use air quotes on that, because it's not a real issue. That's why people are like, oh, I don't know about this. But again, this is a pretty good problem to have of, hey, do we have our world champion, a guy who should be a centerpiece of our show? And in osprey, when further establish him further solidifies him as that guy. And I think he does need this victory over osprey to really establish that. My not issue, but my concern is that osprey and the reactions start to overshadow swerve as they feud. And I could be completely wrong on this, by the way, they could get in the building, and the crowd could be rocking with swerve way more than I'm thinking in my head right now. And if that's the case, this becomes, to me, a little bit less of, oh, do you put the title on osprey? And it's like, oh, yeah, you definitely go with swerve and you definitely continue this reign. It's just my, my concern right now is I worry that the crowd rocks with osprey a little too much to where you can't deny him as being the guy. And I don't think you can, like swerve can have his heelish tendencies. I don't think you can turn him full heel again, because he's got to be the baby face and the hangman for you. That's already well established. And I've talked about this many times before, I feel like I'm beating the dead horse on this. We need the better heel face dynamics with AEW. I think people get lost in the this guy's a heel one week and a baby face next week or he does, you know, this baby face thing one week and he does this heel thing next week. It's too much. And people don't want that from a week to week thing. I understand people are, are characters can be complex and can be have different motivations and tendencies and everything. When it's a week to week, month to month, changing of, okay, he's acting like a heel this week. He's acting like a baby face this week. People just start tuning that stuff out. And I think that's an issue and has been an issue in AEW. So I don't want them to go full bore heel with swerve and then switch him back to, oh, now is a good baby face because hangman's back. I don't think that actually helps his title. Yeah, I agree with you on all of that. We're talking about that plenty. I think people know kind of my opinion on all that stuff as well. So this is why I think orange Cassidy is the best character in the best baby face in AEW history. You know who orange Cassidy is. He always gives you great matches. He doesn't stray from who he is in a character. He evolves as a character. And the story is always there with him, whether he was the international champion and burden himself out with title defense, after title defense, after title defense, or whether it's now where he's losing all of his friends around them. And now it's like, okay, who does orange Cassidy have left? He's a man by himself and he doesn't fully know who he is. He's switching his theme music. Is he going to use Jane? Is he going to use whereas my mind, like he doesn't really even know who he is because all his friends, Chuck's not there anymore, Rocky just shows up to lose, Trent's turned on him, stat laners turned on him. He didn't have him, he didn't know who he is anymore. He's been the best character. I tweeted this last night. He's been the best, most consistent wrestler and character in AEWH. I know who orange Cassidy is. And I think there's a reason why orange Cassidy continues to stay over and continues to stay as relevant and emotionally attached with fans as he is. It's more than just he has a look, a very unique look that people can latch on to and identify with. It's because they actually give him consistent stories and consistent and he is a consistent performer. And I think if they do more with that, then they'd be really onto something. I understand you can't do that with every single character, but I think there's a reason why orange Cassidy is in this position and why fans continue to connect with him. Yeah, well, you know, and I've talked about this before too. And we'll move on here just a second to some other topics, but like, you know, to kind of that point of like that gray area, which works sometimes, doesn't work others, like back when AEW started, that wasn't what we talked a lot about was like, is there a really a need for, you know, good guys and bad guys? Like, is everyone kind of a gray area and kind of choose your own adventure of like who you like and who you want to cheer and say just get good matches and stuff like that, good stories? But like, I've talked about a plenty before, but I, in my opinion, Swerve has been the heel the entire time through his Heyman feud and Heyman was the baby face. Like, and it's just, but because of the crowd reactions, it's just, it flipped. But it's, it's just interesting because like, what got swirled over as a baby face was a bunch of heel stuff, like threatening a child and stuff like that. Like, he was, like, he was the heel. If we were watching an action movie and Heyman page was the main character of that action movie and Swerve as a villain in that movie had done those things to Heyman, the way that Heyman got revenge on Swerve by kind of like stalking him and the way he would attack him and stuff to get his revenge, you would be cheering that action hero as the, the hero of the movie. Like, so as one of those things were just that, all that was confusing to me was like, Swerve got over by being a heel, but he got over as a baby face. So like, you got to go with him as a baby face. And there's certain things he's changed about is his kind of character presentation sense, then he's, he's more likable, more friendly and that kind of stuff. But there's still that edge to him, of course, reason, cutting off loot to source around kill shots, hair and stuff like that. And whatnot. So like, you still got that edge to him, but it's similar to some ways, like stone cold, right? Like when stone cold had his big come up, he was a heel. And he never really changed much about his character to become a baby case. He just started getting huge baby case crowd reactions. And they were just like, okay, we'll just put him against heels now. But they didn't like do this big overhaul of like changing who Steve Austin was. They just had him based the bad guys. And that's like what they're doing with Swerve, they never really changed anything about him. They just have him wrestle heels. And he's gonna get a baby case reaction anyway, because people like to do the dance and people, he's over. I mean, serves definitely over. And people respect the work. That's at the end of the day. That's what it is. They respect the grind of his career, all the years it took for him to get there. What he represents as a champion, his in-ring work, his mic skills, his whole presentation, like people respect what he is and what he's become in the wrestling business and want to see him have this success. So like, I get why he gets cheered, but it's just interesting. When you really think about it, I feel like, Hey man, with the baby face that whole time, but it turned him heel. So it's just to your point of like defined heels and baby faces. Sometimes it makes it a little confusing. And sometimes the crowd does just turn them. And that is exactly what happened with Swerve. They pivoted very well, and then they turned hangman heel and then Swerve won the title and then he wrestled heels, which of course is going to make him a baby face. And this is the aspect of again, Osprey that I worry about is Osprey has been the biggest baby face on these shows. And Swerve is supposed to be a baby face, but maybe now he is just a heel. And then he's going to face Osprey, but then he goes back to a baby face because hangman is going to be back and hangman is definitely the heel and this. And this is why again, I worry that if you do this too much, there becomes a disconnect with things. You mentioned Austin. And yeah, Austin didn't change much. They just consistently put him against top heels and they fed him top heels until he turned a heel and then people still at Parker. Our purpose is simple. If you feed a guy a heel one week or a guy a heel one month and then a baby face the next month and then a heel the next month get that dynamic of switching back and forth. It starts to disconnect with people. With you, Tommy says spotlight is great. Thank you, Tommy. Appreciate you. Also from double or nothing, we'll talk about anarchy and the arena because that was a wild and crazy match. Brian Danielson lost again because of course he did. I forbid this man win or match on a pay-per-view. Danielson lost the elite one. I guess one ownership of AEW until last night when Tony Khan was actually Christopher Daniels is in charge and now Christopher Daniels is in charge. Kind of. Yeah, he's like the mouthpiece for Tony Khan basically is what it how they're positioning it is like anything that Chris Daniels says on television is a is a basically used parrotting Tony Khan. I mean anarchy in the arena was wild to say the least. I've got the pumps ordered by the way the the young buck pumps I ordered those the day that they dropped so they should be arriving sometime before the end of this week. The ECA was actually today but I don't I doubt they'll be here this fast. But uh I mean the main visual for me from that match is Darby hanging upside down by his feet. I mean that was wild. That kind of reminded me of uh like the fast and the furious like the dude in the punching bag that uh Jason was like beaten yeah but also reminded me unfortunately you see those clips of Joshua Fabia and Diego Sanchez back when they were doing whatever they were doing. Fabia was doing that to Diego in their training. He would you would hang him upside down and like like punch him and slap him in the face and stuff. It was so weird. That sounds like Diego Sanchez so well no so Diego is like distancing stuff in this guy now and like I think they're suing one another and like Diego like snapped back into reality a little bit but like for a while he was like straight a brainwashed by this dude Joshua Fabia and like that's a whole other story in itself but like he would if you ever want to find the clips. There's literally videos of like Diego basically training the way that Darby Allen was hanging their upside down. It's gnarly. Um them doing the entrance music at the beginning I thought was pretty funny because like we're so used to like the like a song playing at the I think like wild thing played for a while and like one of them and stuff like that. And so like we're expecting music for the for the the beginning of the match for interviewing the arena. And I liked how they did that with like Darby's music playing and then the young bucks grab the mic and they're like play play our music and like it plays for like a few seconds a day in a sense like play the best theme song in wrestling history and then I even loved that. I mean it was great that visual of everyone fighting the final countdown was pretty cool. Um there was also an opportunity which I'm kind of glad they didn't do but if you ever see the movie Dirty Work with uh with Arty Lang and uh in Norma Donald it's not a rated movie. Anyway people and there's a fighting scene in that movie where Chris Rock it or Chris Chris Farley hits a uh there's a fight in a bar and someone's like you know it's going down like you know make sure you pick good song you know and like so Chris Farley is like on the jukebox and he's not looking at it and like he gets cocky and hits the button for the song he thinks he's gonna play play. He wants to play like they feel like Pina Colada's song instead of like he's like he's trying to play Rolling Stones and hits the wrong button so you hear like this weird music while people are all fighting one another. Um I uh but I also like how the young bucks basically like they grab the microphone towards the end of final countdown and they're like all right cut the song like it's like it plays again like for like for like this this is too expensive like you know so I thought that was pretty funny because I'd imagine if the song loops and starts playing again Tony has to pay again for it so um I liked all of that but uh yeah I mean this this was nuts uh Jack Perry real fire prime your river you know what I mean like he went out there and got torched um so uh yeah and what what did you think about I thought I thought it was pretty good I mean it was like a half hour long on a show that was like 12 batches deep and you know the middle of the night at this point but like I still thought like they delivered for what it was like supposed to be and I wouldn't have pinned anal son either by the way I would have been like cash or something but the the match was great as you would expect the match to be great you know it's it's uh even Justin Roberts said welcome to the shit show before it started you knew what it was gonna be before it started it delivered in every aspect people are gonna get mad at me with what I say next in the end like a Lincoln Park song goes it didn't really matter and I don't say that to just miss it but what were they fighting for you know it was stand up fight in a long line of matches we're gonna be seeing yeah it was stand up for AEW and the elite won but they didn't gain any more control or anything and yes I am just saying all this because that's very true and then on Wednesday Christopher Daniels comes out and is like actually I make all the decisions I'm the mouthpiece for Tony Khan whatever I say is actually coming through him it's basically a way because Tony does want to be on TV so it's now here's Christopher Daniels as the proxy for Tony Khan doing all of this and so the the anarchy and the arena result feels kind of hollow to me I feel like they undid a lot of what they've done over the past month with the elite taking over the show and in running it it felt like they could have just gotten so much more out of this and then it was just here's Christopher Daniels to just now make all the decisions even though the elite have won anarchy and the arena have taken out Tony Khan and it didn't really run the show poorly like they fired Christopher Daniels and people got mad at that good they're heels you should get mad at that it felt like they undercut a lot of them the work they've done over the last month with just having Christopher Daniels return and Tony Khan just running the show again like Tony in the post in the press conference on double or nothing pathway was hilarious the elite win again it seemed like it should have been a big deal like they should have had control over AEW they should be running AEW and then Tony just shows up the press conference like is he knows he's still in charge and is like his football team just lost the game like yeah we played really hard out there schematically things maybe the X's and O's we should have game planned a little bit better that's okay we got another game next week it'll be fine like just move on we're on to we're on a Cincinnati that's what it felt like and like all right sure Tony sure like that it didn't feel like the stakes matched what they should have been with this and oh maybe it's just me and that's fine if it is I hate saying that because I don't think it is just me I think it is a lot other people but it is you know what it is just me this is how I feel about things everybody I feel they should have done more with the stakes and with the yeah we're on the blood and guts yeah like that's I feel like just the appetizer this was just the appetizer for the whole thing I feel like but no but I agree with you a hundred percent though where it's like if you know the idea was like the the elites taking over and then like Tony Khan doesn't really seem like he cares that much right after the show and then like the next show we see there's a guy who's the surrogate essentially for Tony Khan on television who's gonna be able to kind of negate or fight against you know the elite's decision making because I mean we saw it happen in the last side immediately where they were gonna hand jungle boa or a back parry via the TNT championship and so Chris Redane was immediately established that he can like offset their decision making so I would have I would have just preferred if they actually did this storyline and had and go full bore with it with the young bucks of them winning and our gaming arena and continuing to I don't think they did enough of this like this is supposed to be a takeover of AEW and the biggest thing they did was hand Christian a title shot that was their big takeover because they fired Christopher Daniels but then he was just back two weeks later they won anarchy and arena but it didn't lead to anything like they didn't gain more control or anything I don't think it's over at all like they're gonna do blood and guts and stuff I'm not saying it's over but I'm I am saying that I have less interest in it because they made stuff feel less important over the past month because they haven't I don't think they did enough to make me believe that the young bucks actually are trying to take over the company and are trying to like ruin the company like that that's why no I don't think it's over at all but I am saying I don't have as much interest in it as I did after the initial attack on Tony Khan I was big into that I was like oh yeah good the elite are gonna like really take over this show and they did some minor things but a month later they win the first big they win the first big match and then three days later doesn't really matter they should have let Jack Perry hold the TNT title they should have gone with that I agree it's just handed it to him yeah they should have they should have handed it to him and they should have had Jack Perry just be the champion I understand you have to have a storyline reason of with Tony Khan now being back on television okay you gotta explain you got to explain that what happened with Christopher Daniels if Tony Khan's back how can he allow Christopher Daniels to now be fired find hire him back but don't make him a mouthpiece or anything just hire him back and move on from that be like you know what Christopher you can't fire him he didn't have to be an interim GM or whatever this is why there should have been some type of stakes and an anarchy in the arena now it's just Tony's back in control I thought it was hilarious that Okada thing was hilarious with uh their tanny C on punk Adam and he just like showed him it just that was so good that was great Okada he rules yeah he's a man um yeah and then I don't think anything else or anything I just want to just out or talk about with the anarchy in the arena or with the storyline with them that was a great match I wish and the story was I wish there was more to it that's all just wish there was a little bit more yeah that's fair anything else from double or nothing I mean there's 20 but wait I know we got to move on to their topics I mean the other thing that really stands out to me is uh um let's see I would say I mean the Adam Copeland that's just unfortunate yeah dude when he jumped off that like cage and the way he landed on his uh uh when he landed on his his feet like feet first the first thing I thought of was like Sid Vicious I was like please no like you know what I mean like because he fell from so high and landed ankles first I thought of coordinate when coordinate fell off the scaffold that's what it was like to me and I said this before I learned of it the injury uh so it was Monday show on in the weeds like that happened and then he just wrestles the match just fine like he's still doing the spear he's running he's all good to go and then as soon as the bell ring and the match ended that adrenaline wore off and he was limping and you could tell I was like oh yeah he's hurt best wishes to Adam Copeland I know I give him a lot of shit on this show I never mean it maliciously it is character and I certainly don't mean it as someone you know wanting I don't want anybody injured I think he's been a big positive for AEW despite me not always liking the stuff he does on screen he's been a huge positive for AEW and I never want to see anybody get hurt so best listen to him I hope he comes back and can resume because he was doing good stuff and I know a lot of the lot of people in the locker room really like he was a big help there as well and not having that is going to be uh it's a loss on screen and off screen for them yeah yeah for sure it's a bummer he was doing great work but took a uh took a big risk took a big risk jumping off that cage I thought it was going to do a splash and then when he came down feed first but it's also like I understand I'm not wanting to land like chess first on barbed wire but like that was sketchy yeah yeah I don't know if he changed his mind mid move or what it was even if you're doing an elbow drop you know you got to land basically ribbed to stomach there he just went feed first which yeah it did not didn't go well at all yeah it was a broken tibia I think is what fractured tibia yeah yeah so do you know what's the time time table on that like potential it'll depend on surgery and you know everybody is kind of different and stuff so you know we'll see but I imagine it's going to be six months six to nine months very least when he's a guy who's been saying recently like he doesn't even know how I mean I obviously he had to take years off his career and everything but like I uh I think that uh like he's been saying that he might only last another couple years I mean you never really know but he was making a sound in recent interviews that like he he only had probably a couple more years left maybe a year or two so hopefully this like you know this doesn't change that if that makes sense like I hope that this like this this injury doesn't like oh we still able to come back and like still accomplish whatever he's trying to accomplish still before he finishes wrestling I hope this injury doesn't like hinder that too much but I mean I got even credit for going for it dude wanted to make a moment and he jumped off that cage um he's he's made a point also he said he's in this recent comeback he's doing one new move every time he goes out there and wrestles like he's trying to change it up he's trying to have fun it was cool to see gangrel I didn't mention that I mean I called for that on last week's show so it's cool to see gangrel um but uh yeah I hope I hope a coping gets gets uh gets better soon that's uh I was worried the second he hit the mat I was like I don't know how he is an injured it looked terrible and the fact that he like continued I was like okay maybe he's fine again that adrenaline wore off that the bell rang to end the match and he was done after that you could tell he was just he was injured he was he was one thing I was like oh hopefully it's not too bad then it turns out to be not great but so best wishes to him um we can get into get into WWE and we got a lot to talk about here I need to finish the story in the WWE the story never finishes Cody Rhodes Logan Paul match of the year Jensen man this was pretty awesome it really was um we've said it a thousand times I think everyone agrees at this point like whether you like Logan Paul or not there's plenty of reasons outside of wrestling if they dislike the guy and I get them and if that even prevents you from being able to be a fan of him I get that as well but I think it's undeniable that like Logan Paul has done a great job in the WWE he continues to show out in these big matches he's great on the microphone he's great in the ring he's athletic innovative I know that uh you put up the the screenshot that I don't know who the message initially was to I'm assuming Triple H or Nick Con or someone it was it said hey boss in the tweet but uh he looked like a year ago Logan was like kind of pushing for like these drone shots and stuff like what they use like there was that one shot especially when he was up on the top rope holding the prime bottle before he did the the frog the frog splash through the announce table or they did the drone shot that went all the way around him apparently that's Logan's idea and something that he's been wanting to do for a while um and I think it even said in his in his uh text it was like whether you want to do this with me or for another wrestler like I think it would be a really cool visual so like I uh I appreciate that he's like you know continuing to try to think outside of the box and do things production-wise and stuff that might help to show out um the actual match itself though I mean what can you say it was like 25 minutes long and I think that they went out there and absolutely killed it um Cody continues to get massive reactions um it'll always be a cool thing for me to see the WWE and other countries and people all singing kingdom no matter where they are and doing the woe and they're doing this for a lot of the theme songs and stuff like the crowds are super interactive at these PLEs especially internationally right now like I think it's really really cool so I got I mean I I feel about how I how you expect me to feel about it you know I thought I thought they totally delivered it was good seeing Cody get another another title victory people expected Cody to retain but like he should have here um and Logan just continued to establish himself as like he's definitely one of their top guys I I would not be surprised at all if Logan Paul was the undisputed WWE champion or the world heavyweight champion at some point in the next couple years like I you know even even if he's somewhat part-time I mean they got enough championships and stuff like that like and uh this this is his career at this point I mean I know he does a lot of businesses with with prime and he's got all his crypto things and stuff going on that that's a whole other conversation in itself but like he does a lot of stuff outside WWE but I feel like at this point his job like is WWE wrestler like he's that's what he does the most that's what he's the most focused on that's what I think his real career uh promise is is like that's you know I think he was kind of he's kind of perfect to be a professional wrestler it's just this whole social media and fame thing came first and that was his door his foot in the door of course to be able to you know be able to do what he's doing right now it's anything that happened with him in boxing as well of course but like this is uh if it's like a glove in the WWE in my opinion and I don't know how I feel about Cody obviously just look behind me um so yeah this is awesome how do you feel about it oh that was really good you know I like I said here and try to troll you too too much I mean Cody needed help from you know that actor otherwise I don't know if he would have won you know so just once again Cody needed help to retain the title just like at WrestleMania without the Undertaker and John Cena and JU so wouldn't have won now he needed help from Ibrahim to beat Logan Paul when's this guy gonna like actually win on his own it's all just a part of the spectacle Jeremy it's all it's all for fun it's all for the pops oh he can beat him one on one but it's also like he had got some help before that let's not forget there was a was it someone in the crowd had had helped Logan right before that yeah Cody beat the shit out of the dude in the crowd yeah um so I mean you know they both got some help it was only fair Logan's Frog Splash was awesome through being unstable that was a cool shot yeah the drone shot everything that was really cool when Logan turns babyface and starts doing the Steve Austin celebration with the prime bottles he'd be the biggest star in wrestling history well let's see it let's see it I'll be excited for that yeah it's pretty wild seeing like the whole prime setup like right next to the right next to the announce table like the giant bottle and all that stuff um I still surprisingly I still have not tasted prime I've never drank it you've got woo energy and you've not drinking prime what is happening someone gifted me the woo energy I would not have purchased out on my own school um I want to get steve digits in a prime yeah we need to try well the funny thing is like the reviews are so mixed like it seems like kids love it and then adults are like this tastes weird and uh yeah I don't know and also all energy drinks do have most of them have some sort of like weird aftertaste or something to them like I you know so not all these energy drinks are for me I will say this is not a hashtag ad or anything like that but um a lot of the g-fuel I've drank I've enjoyed I will say that way better than the woo energy I will say that so but yeah we got to do what prime case has its own point I thought Cody had a flavor coming out but it maybe was just like a bottle for WrestleMania I don't think he has like a Cody flavor otherwise I was like I drink that he has an actual flavor what would it taste like just America yeah freedom cost a bucko five yeah it tastes like rock flag and eagle yeah yeah anything else from king queen of the ring yeah congratulations to don't throw him when he came to the ring uh he was kind of the most obvious choice from the beginning but I have no problem with him when he sometimes obvious thing is just the thing to do um it is interesting though that he's getting a shot at the world championship and not the debitive universal title because they have almost like a log jam they are already of the world title because you've got like priest and mac and tire and I would imagine unless CM Punk gets involved and I don't think they do this in because pumping a boot obviously I clash the castle if he were to cost mac and tire so I think that mac and tire is going to win the title clash of the castle and then you have it set up for mac and tire and punk but they might be punk's I don't know what punk's return timeline actually looks like so but the way that the way that it seems right now is that we get mac and tire defeating priest and then we would get mac and tire versus gunther at summer slam because of the king of the ring and then we would do punk and mac and tire after that if I guess if punk's injury is taking longer to recover than they expected maybe is that because otherwise I don't know why he wouldn't just do gunther wins this and like he just he wrestles Cody at summer slam yeah I'm I was a little not concerned uh I don't know what the word might be um surprised I guess surprised be the the right word because it seemed like they might do Orton and Cody and I think Orton and Cody still might be the direction for summer slam but I do agree that on raw it seemed like the world heavyweight title picture was kind of laid out with drew most likely defeating priest that clashed the castle and then going on and facing punk at summer slam something punk is healthy maybe punk is not going to be ready by summer slam and maybe that's why they're going with gunther I still don't think it's a bad idea of gunthers like you know what I'm just gonna challenge Cody why am I gonna go after this title I'm gonna go after Cody because I think gunther and Cody is the match to kind of make because I don't know what Cody what what do you think Cody does going into summer slam is the number one Cody fan like who makes sense for him right now probably Orton still maybe like even though he lost the king of the ring like they just turn orton yeah I guess I mean like is this only the name that I feel like makes enough sense for like he's got the history with Cody also Orton didn't really get pinned at king of the ring so that's kind of like yeah they might run that back triple h talked about running back gunther and orton since they because they did address or in shoulder being up and do you think that was intentional in any way or just a mistake I don't think it was intentional I don't I think I don't know if it was way up it was way up yes I don't think they intentionally decided hey let's have orton shoulder up and then make a storyline out of this I also think orton is been in the game too long to not know to keep his shoulder down so I think it was a mistake it was a mistake that you certainly wouldn't expect out of a guy like orton because he knows how to put his shoulders kind of flat on that so it's very uh very odd that it happened now maybe they'll run it back that's what triple h teased happening but I don't think they intentionally did this to because that just it doesn't serve anybody to intentionally do that hey let's do this and then do a rematch that doesn't make gunther look great it kind of fucks over the fans because okay what I know paid reviews now are different um paid reviews are different in that you're not spending $50 a month on them but you still want to deliver these pay previews and not score over the fans like you want people to tune in and not feel like they got cheated of like hey just watch the product watch the weekly product you don't need to watch these pay previews you want like conclusive finishes to that stuff that's a bad mistake or it's it's a dumb thing to do intentionally that's why I think it was probably a mistake it's just odd that it happened given how good Orton is and how good gunther is and like everyone even like the referee like there's no way you miss that you know and yeah and they're kind of told to like play it real like yeah there's something you shouldn't take out yeah there's all the counters to shoot so the referee probably should have seen that his shoulder was up and be like hey shoulders up and then get down on the shoulder there so I can count this that's the only thing that can make me feel like it might be intentional this that's the only the only thing that makes me think that is like if they were trying to protect Orton for some reason to get him to Cody still for the title or something the only reason I even say that because the shoulder was so up um anyway go over the super chat Janice's podcasting drew was a one option but I could see the Judgment Day finally crossing Damien all that live stuff tying into it I don't know what the outcome will be the Judgment Day stuff is very interesting like I've really liked what they've done with the live and in Dominic things priest is becoming he's almost garnering a babyface reaction but you can tell he's kind of like sick of all the Judgment Day nonsense around him and like what the what do we do it guys like on Raw where he's beaten up right he's like I don't want to do this like I don't I hate that I kind of have to do this right now it feels like they want to go babyface with priests they just can't quite pull the trigger on it just yet I think that's probably coming I do think Drew is winning a clash of the castle maybe punk they interference backfires on him or maybe he just comes out and confronts them after the match I'm not sure they got options there they got a lot of options with the way they've set up set up stuff with the the Judgment Day and how that's all factoring in and one thing I wanted to highlight off of Raw as well was the Chad Gable segment I think Gable's been doing great great work he's been fantastic as this new dickhead heel where he's bossing people around and the reactions Otis is getting when that man finally turns on Gable crowds gonna go crazy for that they're doing a great job of like slowly kind of feeding that to you instead of let's just go ahead and do it immediately like Otis is kind of wrestling with this decision he's making the mistake he can't quite do it like on on Monday he couldn't prevent Gable from beating up Sammy he's still under the Gable spell oh Josh didn't like it I liked it I thought and I thought the crowd told you that it was good as well the crowd the reaction on that like they're gonna pop big when Otis finally turns on him yeah gable there's a great job as this this dickhead like you lack discipline that's so yeah that's funny like it's not fun well it's funny but it's also like he's he's so he's lost it he's like so delusional out there and like he's I you know you saw it on like the pay-per-view or like he was able like Otis did the clothesline of Bronson but then he was like you know torn on helping again Sammy and stuff like that and I uh the way that Gable talks to Maxine talks down on her and stuff like that like it he's gonna get his come-up ins eventually you know like Otis is going to beat him down Otis and Maxine are gonna probably be together and do their own thing um in to Zao I'm not sure that leaves him but maybe with them just without Gable or something but no I love this segment I thought it was uh I thought it was super entertaining um I feel like they probably got to put the Intercontinental title on Gable eventually like I think he'll get the one on one win against Sammy at some point you would think um but I just like that and one thing that they missed an opportunity on was I I think someone called I might have been Sammy came out and called Chad Gable short or something like that on on raw but they should have called him Shorty G because I'll never forget how bad that whole era Chad Gable's career was um Vicki referenced that on the pre-show he referenced Shorty G. Oh did he? Yeah. Okay I'm glad that hasn't been completely forgotten I always shouldn't say that I it should have never happened but like if people if Gable's gonna be a heel that's pretty good ammo to like use against him um but yeah I know this this was this was awesome I love the current Chad Gable character uh and like I said do you think she's eventually gonna be a standard fantasy title? I do I do think he eventually takes the title off of Sammy I think that makes the most sense he's lost to Sammy enough at this point to where him him beating Sammy feels like it's the story and then he probably beats Otis and I know Otis is gonna get the big reaction when he turns and everything but I don't think Otis is gonna be the guy to beat Gable either. Yeah I'm with you. One other thing I want to mention real quick from King of the Ring uh was the Queen of the Ring winner Nia Jax which I predicted as well I thought that that finish was awesome I love that Annihilator from like the standing position yeah killed her I mean that was that was good stuff Nia has upset a thousand times Nia has improved significantly in my opinion since she's returned to the WWE so I'm actually happy to see the push she's getting right now I was not a fan of her previously but that's changed yeah uh that was she's been doing good very good work since returning they booked her as kind of the monster heel that we all knew she could be and has been throughout and they've done a really good job with her her and Bailey at SummerSlam makes a lot of sense as well it's possible she wins the title there I'm not I'm not mad at it and I don't think it's again like where Bailey definitely has to win I could see Nia winning they got a lot of baby faces on on Raw or on SmackDown a lot of top baby faces between Bailey Bianca Naomi and Jade that Nia can I don't know if you feed all of them to Nia but that she can feud with throughout the rest of the year so we'll see what they eventually decide to go with all right let's move on to the other spot right our product is what it is we're going straight up the middle Jordan Grace showed up on NXT she was at the rumble that was a big deal and didn't hear anything wasn't sure what was going on lo and behold Roxanne Presley an opponent for Battleground here comes TNA knockout champion Jordan Grace how surprised are you at this Jensen I mean I definitely didn't expect this this wasn't I think really anyone's radar as far as like her coming back I mean I I'm glad that it's happening for sure and I'm wondering what other possibilities are going to be possible based on this too whatever relationship is going on between TNA and WWE slash NXT I mean I think it's I think it's incredible people have followed my stuff for you know a long time know that I have massive respect for Jordan Grace she's one of my favorite wrestlers in the world I think she should have already been the TNA world champion at this point so seeing her come in and she's gonna be wrestling Roxanne Bres is gonna be title versus title or just for the NXT now just the NXT this NXT yeah dude I think it's pot like I know obviously the gut instinct is like Roxanne's gonna retain but I mean when you need meal time inspiration it's worth shopping king supers where you'll find over 30,000 mouth watering choices that excite your inner foodie and no matter what tasty choice you make you'll enjoy our everyday low prices plus extra ways to save like digital coupons worth over 600 each week you can also save up to one dollar off per gallon at the pump with fuel points more savings and more inspiring flavors make shopping king supers worth it every time king supers fresh for everyone fuel restrictions apply if there's a scenario where like Jordan wins and then Roxanne moves to raw smackdown and then Jordan puts over someone else on the NXT roster before she's back to TNA or whatever like I think that could be a possibility as well potentially also I'd like to see more crossover like I'd like to see speedball Mike Bailey in NXT I'd like to see Marshall Slanovich in NXT like if they if they can do Josh Alexander like there's certain people I'd really like to see him mix it up with some of the current NXT talent and also real quick want to mention of course that Ethan Page debuted it kind of goes hand in hand but he debuted in Attack Trick Williams immediately they were calling him all ego Ethan Page like so that's interesting to know as well I mean and it's funny because like the Forbidden Door is coming up for AW and New Japan but like WWE and TNA kind of have their own little Forbidden Door thing going on right now as well so it's very interesting times Josh says Jordan versus Julia that'd be nuts if we got that in like a WWE ring there's there's a good possibility so yeah it all all said like my real thought on this is like I'm very happy for Jordan Grace and I think she's gonna do what she always is she'll show out she'll have a great match her and Roxanne will kill it and like I said I don't be surprised that Jordan actually wins this thing because it would make sense to get Roxanne onto the main roster and it would make sense that Jordan lose eventually to the next person they want to really push on NXT if that makes sense so like keep those things in mind I think there's a lot of cool stuff they can do with this I mentioned this yesterday I could definitely see Jordan Grace winning this and I could see it because I think Roxanne could go to the main roster you know she was supposed to be part of the draft but then she wasn't part of the draft she could move up to the main roster and then whether they bring Julia in to face to face Jordan for that then have Julia be Jordan which is very possible but I could see Jordan winning this and having a title defense before she loses loses it to Julia and Roxanne going to the main roster off of us I think there is more at play with this TNA relationship this time around rumble definitely felt just like a one-off type thing and for a while it was and now it feels like there could be more for this relationship I don't want to spoil anything we could be hearing from Jordan Grace soon regarding also everything with this so there could be articles coming soon from Jordan Grace about this appearance and how it all came together all right but yeah it was a big surprise and then Ethan Page I don't know if you have quick comments on Ethan Page I think he's going to be great in NXT yeah I mean I mean he's already in one night you know they're positioning him in NXT probably better than he was ever positioned in ADW his whole run like he's going for the main championship of NXT right off the bat it looks like so I'm happy for him and he's a guy who you know it sounded like he wanted out for me he got out and like this was probably why like you probably knew this opportunity was a possibility and if he used to do great in the WWE system the timing is probably right for him also like he was really hot coming out of a out of impact I don't think that tied team with the North and everything with Alexander but like right after the AW run and bring a bonner run pretty underwhelming in my opinion but that wasn't really his fault necessarily so I'm interested to see what he does in NXT I'm happy for him and our indie spotlight I want to give a big motherfucking shot out Josh for his vision Matt Cross took place in ADW development for the gold this past week that show was available at Vidlon I know all right no that's on triller this one triller is TV yeah and you can go watch that show it was Josh Madison retirement match him and Matt Cross have been friends colleagues for years upon years of my years you go back and listen to we had Matt Cross on on the show a long time ago um I don't know how much from it went he was on in the weeds a while ago and he talked about his friendship with Josh Burbish and now they got to wrestle and what is for now you know it's wrestling oh it I was the never say never when it comes to retirement but this felt like a actual retirement you know Matt Cross and dog 20 was Josh Burbish's first wrestling match because they came up together on me at a backyard scene and everything and now this is uh yeah potentially most like his last match would you make it as much yeah I mean the main thing that I can add just I know we got to wrap up I got to talk for the shoot job in a few minutes here but like my introduction of both of these guys and by the way Jeremy your audio it does kind of sound like you were in a tunnel for a second there. Oh sorry um but uh but uh my first introduction to both of these guys was the backyard wrestling video game on like the PS2 back heading with like the ICP and everything um so it's just wild that like 25 years later or whatever like um these two guys are still wrestling one another uh prohibitionist have his retirement match against mdog Matt Cross um I mean it was an AEW which is a place to like both guys are really really well respected the fans while both guys there a lot of their work is in that area so yeah I mean what can you really say other than like congratulations on a on a long prohibition on a long run and he was one of the what do you really think about it it was one of the more influential guys in the grand scheme of things because like when he got in those video games there was very few people who knew about wrestlers that weren't in like the WWF or in WCW back in those days and stuff like um so for me that was like wait who are these other wrestlers in this video game and then like you find out though they actually are wrestlers it's not in these companies that I was watching you know what I mean some more to someone like trying to acid back in the day where like I found out about him and I was like where's this guy from I saw like a documentary and he was in it and I was like and then it got me like way more into like the world of wrestling that I wasn't familiar with so um so yeah this is mainly what I would say there is like you know if you want to know more about those guys check out that old video game to see where you know I got my first start of checking them out then go check out like their recent A.I.W. stuff as well in that retirement match uh Jensen anything else before you got to go yeah I definitely want to mention uh the GCW championship was stripped of Blake Christian yes yeah so Matt Cardona who is the general manager of a GCW now had has decided that Blake Christian is no longer the GCW role champion uh Blake is going to be doing I think best of super juniors is why he's missing yeah he's currently investing in best of super juniors yeah so he'll be missing cage of survival and tournament survival weekend this this upcoming weekend um and it's wild because like the disappointment I have in this is more so that they had multiple opportunities to get the title off of Blake that would have totally made sense up at this point especially spring break Joey Janela should have just beat him in the main event they should have it on the the swerve with Missy Hyatt and like Joey should have just won that night because we're in the same position right now we were in the same position that we were for spring break where I've said it a thousand times but F.E. and man is born or wrestling in cages survival earlier in the night and I'm Matt I mean if F.E. wins which I think is going to happen I think man's born is going to hash in this title shot at the end of the show so now what they're going to do is they're doing this gauntlet don't know how many people are going to be in the gauntlet don't know who's going to be involved yet but Joey Janela is going to be the last entrant in the gauntlet for this championship so my prediction is they're going to have a gauntlet with a whole bunch of people um Joey Janela is going to actually wind up winning the gauntlet and becoming the GCW champion and then I think but uh man's born is going to uh cash in on Joey at the end of the pages survival is my prediction but once again I want to give a lot of credit to Blake Christian himself because he's a guy who went from super super over babyface gets signed to the WWE comes back out to the indies still really over his babycase having great matches great engineering work and he did a great job over the last year year and a half whatever it's been that he really has he really embraced the heel side of himself he did a great job of like getting heat and getting the crowd to turn on him and hate him even though he's such a great entering worker um so I I give like a lot of credit I think he had a really good run with the DCW title in his twitter bio I think he's even put like still the real GCW role champion so I'd imagine if and when he comes back to GCW there'll be some sort of feud there or like some sort of unification thing or something like that but my main discipline once again is that like you had an entire year to to have somebody beat Blake for that championship and now you pigeonholed yourself into a corner where you stripped him of the title Joey should have just wanted spring break and hindsight but um that said you know congratulations on Blake uh you know having a good title run and this upcoming weekend is huge for GCW once again cage survival tournament survival we got a lot to talk about next week on the spotlight for sure when it comes to GCW we have Matt Cardona on in the weeds tomorrow everybody so if you have more GCW Matt Cardona tomorrow 1030 in the weeds Jensen let everybody know where they can find you at x fight talk underscore um fightful select weekend or podcast and use code fight excuse me use code fight talk I'm going to panna wrestling dot tv and uh yeah the next time you guys will hear me I think we'll be on I'll probably do the weekend or on sunday covering whatever's going on this weekend and rest I will maybe Monday because of GCW depending on how late their show is run on sunday um it may be Monday for the weekend or but just stay tuned uh fightful select dot com we'll have uh some of the big stuff that we'll be talking about for sure is gonna be the GCW weekend and there's also MLW battle riot which is actually in Atlanta Georgia I won't be attending live but I will be watching on trailer tv so we got a lot we can talk about next week when it comes to the indies and others and you know everything else going on but I've been clocking for the shoe job great single in the chat with the new january and uh I'll have a happy rest of your thursdays everybody let's get into this interview with d portacus and he is a new wrestling fan he just started watching getting into wrestling at wrestle mini 39 that was his first wrestling experience and he has become a super fan this is not he just watched it he doesn't know what's what's going on since then he's attended shows he watches weekly he now creates content uh really fun to hear a different perspective I know a lot of people we talked to are either long time fans who are now content creators or wrestlers who independent wrestlers who likely grew up as wrestling fans so hearing from somebody who literally just started watching a year ago and getting their perspective was really fun so hope everybody enjoys this interview with d portacus right now in the creator spotlight welcome to the creator spotlight here on the spotlight I'm Fightful I'm Stephen Jensen joined as always by Jeremy Lambert Nargest today is a guy I found on youtube not too long ago newer debbie to be fan big pro wrestling fan jumped right in head first I love his videos we're gonna talk a lot about that is fandom it's channel everything we are joined by the portacus thank you very much for joining us how you doing man I'm doing great I am happy I'm happy to be here thanks for having me absolutely um the portacus also known as josh we will probably be switching back and forth between between those names um josh I know you've told this story quite a bit we're not doing it too detailed we'll probably bounce around in the interview but um I saw your probably the video you're most known for I would imagine is uh the video of you explaining your first year as a debbie to be fan um that's how I discovered you you talked about how youtube recommended um and I was very impressed with how much you love wrestling and how much you've gotten into the debbie to be in a very short amount of time um and I know you started watching with Wrestlemania 39 uh because you had seen the advertisements like in your email through peacock um so if you can just kind of elaborate on that a little bit and just talk a little bit about kind of like becoming uh like seeing wrestling and becoming the fan of it so quickly well like you said it was just it was the heavy promotion that that wwe clearly likes to do during the road to Wrestlemania and I I probably wouldn't have saw it out if I didn't already have the service just because I had it through my internet and I was just sitting in a discord call and my fiance was in the other room she was in the call I got a few buddies who used to watch wrestling uh they had stopped in like the 2010s and I said Wrestlemania is on let's just throw it on and I instantly had so many questions and it became very clear that this was just something that perfectly suited me as a person that I just never knew I like there's so many I was a theater kid growing up um I like the the backstage uh I'm usually a behind the scenes guy not to I'm the kind of a guy that will watch a magician and I won't tear it down in the middle of the show but I absolutely want to know how you did that once the show is over so all these personality traits of it just seemed to line up perfectly with the wwe uh wwe and started asking all my buddies in the discord call they're like yeah that's that's such and such it used to be good and and then this guy uh roman got it I hated him then but now he's a lot better so I started asking all these questions and I'm like this was a really fun show and all it took me was one more I think the very next day I hear that I'm watching the raw after mania and I'm like this is on every week and they're like twice a week and I'm like okay like and it's live like I know it's it's it's crazy because people have actually kind of called me out like there's no way you haven't watched wrestling I'm like wrestling wasn't something nobody in my family watched it no one ever talked about it and I understand the there was like this stigma of if you watched wrestling I know how people were treated at like my school's growing up if they watched wrestling so naturally without any further information I kind of filed it in my brain as okay I'm not I'm not interested in looking into that or whatever and boy do I do I wish I would have sooner because it is I I'm turning 32 next month so I missed a lot of years but I'm going back and I'm learning that's cool though can me and Jeremy are both third are you 36 had Jeremy 36 this year this year I just turned 36 myself so like we're right in the same kind of ballpark the only difference being me and Jeremy have been watching this for like 30 years of our lives so that's awesome so but it's but I love hearing your perspective on this stuff and I think that one of your one of your videos I had heard you talking about how you just kind of alluded to it a little bit like you like magic and you like the idea of kind of knowing what's going on but like it doesn't ruin your experience because you know it's predetermined or quote unquote fake and I know you've you've you've said in this video I listened to where you would you would talk about even having like a built-in response of like if someone were to say it's fake you already know how you're gonna react to that now I think my exact wording was I've done like the you know how you have an argument throughout the day and then you take a shower that night and you kind of replay the argument this is what I should have said I've kind of done that a few times where if someone came at me like that I know I feel like I'm already ready to fight that fight yes I love that and and I think that kind of goes hand-in-hand with the point another good point I think you'd made and I think in that same video about how um you're viewing this from the perspective of like you like magic you like the show but there's some people like a lot of people may not want to watch wrestling and give it a chance because they feel like they're being deceived by it which exactly to be fair that was the goal years ago like years ago the whole kayfabe you know idea of like protecting the business they tried to make the fans feel like it was real and like but in recent I mean in the last you know 20 years especially like that isn't the goal and I like that that's your perspective on the way that you kind of articulated that in your video by explaining like you know why don't more people like wrestling or give it a chance well they don't like feeling like they're being deceived but like no one's trying to deceive you at this point so like you know if you like if you like Marvel movies you probably might like coming about wrestling too you know what I mean yeah that that was the exact message yeah that was exactly the message I was trying to give is it does feel like if you don't know any better people will go because it looks so similar to things that they associated to it looks on the surface like a boxing match or a UFC fight and so they immediately that's not fighting I know I could tell they're trying to fool me but it's no different than going to the theater or just watching a movie it's a very close comparison at growing up a theater kid it's a very close comparison to watching a stage act and just it's it's live they're really doing these stunts and all they want to do is entertain you and invoke a reaction from you they're not trying to fool you and once you can get past that initial that block of feeling like you're you don't want to come off like you've been fooled it's so much easier to enjoy it for what it really is trying to be I you mentioned in your video that WrestleMania 39 first show you watched first match you watched Austin theory John Cena you mentioned yeah you mentioned that you knew of John Cena because he's kind of a big name big name in Hollywood and everything so you've heard of him before and you said that it's matches I didn't get it wasn't great could kind of hear John Cena saying stuff me I'm a big John Cena fan I I don't know if you know the full history of John Cena of where biggest star and w2b but he was a babyface but he got booed all the time and nobody liked him I was right or died John Cena all through that I was not booing that guy he came back for this match they had make a wish kids out there for him and he lost I if I'm if this is my first time ever watching this I would have given up on this whole thing believe it you did all of this for that so I credit you for actually sticking through watching the rest of the show you're not the only one to say that the actual that well that was your first match and you kept watching I've told that a few times but a lot of people they also followed up by crediting like if you were able to watch that and keep going that I think you might have been watching for the right reasons you may have seen you know what there is more than just face value because while I did hear him calling his spots I mean I've already kind of alluded to it I kind of liked that I I'm the kind of guy who will rewind like hey wait a minute wait a minute I think I heard Bianca say something to the ref there and I want to go back and see if I can figure it out or I can see the ref show it all I mean obviously if it was a little bit too out there and too loud you know like it can be that's a little different but I do like getting the peak behind the curtain I think you did it the right way as well because I don't know if you've found this as a new fan but Jensen can attest to this as well so many people are like I want to get into wrestling what should I watch what should I watch and like what's the one match I got to go watching it the recommendations are always like go watch this greatest match of all time or that greatest match of all time you know watch the current product watch the next episode of Rawler SmackDown and if you can deal with that you can deal with weeks of that you're good then you can go back and watch all the older stuff because if you go if you watch the greatest match of all time and then you just watch a random episode of SmackDown it's like wait a second I saw all of this this 20-minute match and now I'm watching the six-minute match with a roll-up finish and this is not what I signed up for so I think honestly by having that god awful cena in theory match as your first experience being like okay this wasn't good but let me see what else is there like experiencing that first and sticking with that it's like that's kind of the way to actually do it so I give you credit for again going through with it and going through with everything the right way um as far as the the rest of the show went with with WrestleMania did you find it like of a too long like oh this is two nights I gotta I gotta know this and that and to follow up kind of on that WWE one thing people complain about with them is like they hit you over the head too much with everything why do we need a 30-minute video package for this why are the announcers saying this and one thing I noticed you mentioned in your videos like the announcers did a great job of explaining things so as a new fan like how helpful were the announcers and the the video packages for you it was perfect because after watching for the last year I have determined that I don't need the in-ring uh I don't need the match itself to be perfect or even amazing if if if the stakes feel right and the storytelling leading up to it uh it's if it's I don't want to say believable but if if I can get invested in it then it really doesn't matter exactly what's going on the ring for me there's definitely there's different types of fans for sure but for me since they did do those packages it was cool going in for the first time and getting an idea of why we're here and that it wasn't just person A versus person B uh person A used to be friends with person B but person C stepped in and then now that I know that context when person C comes up with a hood and interferes with that match I'm I'm in on it now you know what I mean instead of me being like having a turn like hey who is that guy I know who that guy is now I just watched a package that shows that that's person B's homie and you know what I mean so that that extra context I could totally see why that might get repetitive for this the NXT shows since I started watching and I still like the hyped up packages mostly because the presentation compared to especially what I've seen in some older matches is top tier it's like a mini movie that kind of reminds me not just reminds me the details but it kind of builds me up builds up the hype a little bit like all right now I'm ready to watch this match but to answer the first part of your question the the whole two night thing I just thought that was I just thought it was normal because again it was my first exposure so I didn't think much of it but leading up to WrestleMania 40 man knowing it was going to be SmackDown two days and Raw like my fiance had worked off that so she took work off we were like talking about eight two days till WrestleMania like we were counting it down like it was Christmas and we were riding the high of that two day it was awesome that it was two days because we got to hang out with all our friends in the discord call just kind of enjoying it together and that was what made the whole year kind of worth it was getting to experience the big climaxes and all these big moments together with a bunch of people it was I love that it's two nights and yeah I don't really have any issue with it was I know you became a big Roman Reigns fan was Roman you're not to remind me was she other like kind of what hooked you as like your favorite wrestler like the first like when you saw on WrestleMania is that kind of when you were like okay this is kind of my guy right away it was like a handful of people at first show where you're like I'm a fan of like ten of these people like rather that I it's so hard for me to pick a favorite wrestler right now I think it's because I'm still new uh so like I had I could list like 10 people that I really enjoy just watching every single week and I look forward to seeing I wouldn't even say Rowan's my favorite but that's my fiance's favorite she's the one she's got the full gear and everything she's all about Roman I he grew on me over time it's not that I ever disliked him I loved it was the I would say the bloodline storyline was what was my initial hook where like I was looking forward to SmackDown where I was actually all I wanted to see was what that segment was and I think that's important that I found one thing to latch onto so if there is anybody else that is trying to become a new fan I would say don't try to understand everything at once find one thing you really really like and get into that and then the other stuff will just kind of happen around it while you're waiting to see the bloodline segment you might see a ricochet match and you're like dang that hold on that guy too maybe so instead of trying to learn all twenty people that appear on the show that night but it was really I think it was another YouTube channel that that was my first exposure to find out much like Jeremy said how John Cena was was kind of pushed as a babyface but a lot of people didn't like him that's the Roman rain story going from the shield to being pushed as the guy but it was during an arrow where people didn't want him as the guy so seeing him go from that leave obviously with his health issues and come back with this new character and completely changing the way pro wrestling is it seems to be done in terms of in-ring storytelling during covid where they could where they could talk more in the ring you know the mics could be up close they don't have to drown out crowd noise they can you know control all that so seeing him do this talking mid-match and slowing it down that's where I gained a ton of respect for someone like Roman Reigns and yeah now at this point you know as much as I was complaining back in ah come on he's never around he doesn't have the title he shouldn't have the title I can't wait for him to come back now because he's he's just that much of a draw for me for sure and that's probably why I got a little confused I've seen you in the Roman Reigns hat I know you talked about the bloodline storyline being like your favorite and bloodline being your favorite faction all that stuff so that's uh that's uh that's really cool um I think you know I'm sure you've heard this a lot of people talking about like eras and professional wrestling the attitude era um the PG era like uh russins aggression era and so on and so forth um I'm gonna say this right now and like I honestly mean this you're getting into wrestling at the best time in wrestling history like you really are um yeah I mean the attitude era was great me and Jeremy lived through it like it was it was a much different world there's a lot of stuff that a lot of it doesn't age great but a lot of it is like really cool to go back and watch like the how rowdy the crowd is and all this kind of stuff but like it's so fascinating because like the only thing I can think of to even kind of compare this to is like if I had never seen Breaking Bad before and I could like see that for the first time is how I feel like you're kind of feeling right now like it's like man if I could just go back without knowing this and relive this all and I feel like you're in the best it's the best time ever because I know you've gotten into WWE heavily and I know I don't know if at this point you have watched any of the other promotions at all but it's it's never been more accessible all these different companies all these different streaming sites I mean you could watch wrestling every day of the week if you want to live pretty much at this point um and also I'm obviously a big Cody Rhodes fan so you got to literally see his loss from last year to his win this year um I guess in this a nutshell like how cool was just seeing that journey of I guess Cody and just hearing all these people saying like yeah this this is the best time ever and I think Cody is heavily attached to that feeling people have he's kind of the face of this new generation I could be completely honest if it did bring a tear to my eye that uh that second night when that happened and a big part of it uh you know massive shout out to peacock timing that uh uh what was it the the Cody Rhodes documentary that they did sometime last year watching that gave me so much context and so much respect and love for Cody that again it felt kind of like I had been there and I and I was part of you know it made me feel involved like I was a part of the story that was happening and yeah when when that night happened uh seeing like you know Michael Cole say what he said but I've watched him since you know he was a kid or I've known him since he was x amount of years old um yeah even as a new fan they do such a good job of um doing things that again I could see coming off as repetitive to someone who's already knows all the information they watch it all the time but it was everything I needed to go into that night feeling you know just as invested as anybody else that was watching you know getting that excited when it finally happened um yeah it's shout out the www does a great job of providing all the information necessary and all these different spots so that when Cody Rhodes has a moment like that I don't feel left out of it and on top of that like when it comes to the other companies like have you started dabbling outside of it to be and or like what are some of the more do you have like some like performers and matches that you're getting like requested pretty often outside of it to be uh yeah so yeah that that's what we're doing on uh on my patreon right now as people are suggesting a lot of uh old matches that they say I have to go see one of them that I just watched last week was uh Undertaker and Mankind that uh that Hell of a Cell are at the King of the Ring and I won't I won't go into that right now but yeah you know the show has changed I could tell from uh uh over the years but I've gone into a little bit of uh I did see a TNA match it was a triple threat I think it was uh AJ Styles Samoa Joe Christopher Daniels yeah yeah and uh so I've seen a little bit in terms of the the current day stuff I just watched my first uh this is a video I have coming out soon actually I just watched AEW Double or Nothing so that was my first AEW show lots of thoughts on that but uh but yeah so I've been kind of expanding it a little bit because I've had some uh some new fans kind of asked uh about fans of me like new fans of WWE saying that like you know I'm also kind of just getting into it you know what shows should I try watching and I still stand by stick with one thing you like at first you know because if I feel like for me if I try to do all this at once and watch all these at once I struggle to get as invested in any singular part of it so over the last year yeah I started with the bloodline I expanded to the rest of the show I've been dabbling a little bit in NXT and now I've been kind of now that I feel pretty comfortable with what what I know in the current day WWE I am kind of reaching out a little bit I check a little bit of AEW I'm gonna look into um I'm not even sure how to watch like some like new Japan stuff or I don't even know how to get to all those yet but that is the plan. Cool yeah there's also like there's great streaming services like um like independent wrestling.tv and fight uh trailer it used to be fight tv but now it's trailer tv plus like they have a lot of like the independent promotions and stuff um which is a cool way to like you know find out about wrestlers well before they even are on WWE or AEW's radar you know and stuff like that um so there's a lot a lot you can uh a lot you can check out um one follow up on that before I pass it back over to Jeremy is um in one of your videos I had heard you mention you had not seen an Eddie Guerrero match yet has that changed yet it has it was uh Eddie versus Rey Mysterio it was I think it was the title versus the unmasking at uh Halloween Havoc uh that was cool and I I did not I felt kind of bad because I was like I want to like what's he up to I didn't know that Eddie had passed away so I felt really bad because I'm like dang that that dude seems really cool like really like he I could see why he'd be like a fan favorite and stuff like that so that was uh it's really upsetting to I go back and I see these wrestlers and people have to keep telling me oh yeah he's no longer with us but dang like it I really did miss like a lot with a lot of these guys but uh Eddie seemed like such a cool talent like just fun to watch but the do you see how much he resembles the current dominant Mysterio I do yeah I think I even said in the watch thing I was like I see why people say what they say I do see that's that's a long play because I'm sure you know at this point the story that him and Rey for custody of Dominic back when he was a kid so Dominic was a part of the show and he was a little kid for a little while and stuff so there's there's deep lore a lot of stuff you can go back and check out it's awesome yeah a few things off of everything that you said first when you're watching the the Cody story this year as someone who just started last year where were you on the Cody and Rock stuff because you don't have you have the the year attachment but Stephen Jensen is long time biggest Cody Rhodes fan that I know and the attachment with Cody Rhodes goes back to you know more than a year goes back to him leaving WWE everything with Ada all this stuff like you only have like the year of a reference point here comes the rock who you might not know on wrestling terms but you know is biggest star in Hollywood and you know bloodline stuff so where were you when all of this starts happening with rock and Cody that's a great question Jensen where were you I immediately can picture that you were you probably loved the segment where he wins the Royal Rumble and then passes it off to somebody else I'm sure that makes you feel right I will I will vouch for just a Jensen was what was your diamond hands? Diamond hands like I like the GameStop stonks yeah I was yeah I was yeah Diamond Hand right in and I was Cody no matter what for context Josh um I've talked about this on the show plenty but me and Cody Rhodes were on the same high school wrestling team back in the day so I so I've like watched and I've been a life on wrestling fans so like I was a fan of his dad and his dad would be around for the matches and stuff and I was just so I'm we've had we've had Cody's just a teal on the show a couple of times yes so Jensen is ride or die code I would troll him every single show that's awful rock so yeah Jensen was but I will say Jensen was it's going to be Cody of Roman at WrestleMania you know the entire time Jensen's like I just know it's going to be Cody and Roman but to be fair the entire build on WrestleMania 39 I would think there's no way Cody's gonna lose this match you know what I mean like we all thought he was gonna win so you know yeah I it was uh it was really strange it was very confusing to me because I saw the Rumble and he pointed at Roman and it felt like this okay here we go we are getting we're getting around two of this and I was really excited because my first exposure was watching their match not knowing the background yet and so now I'm like cool I got a whole year of this and I've done a lot of learning so now I get to see like this could be really good and man I don't know you know I everyone says that the WWE you know they you know it wasn't the plan to switch it back to Cody who knows if they if if the rock just played everybody perfectly to get the reactions who knows but I Cody did not look even remotely thrilled that night where he passed it off to the rock and that's what stood out to me so much that night where I was like this he this dude looks so sad he's walking away like he might as well put like a rain cloud over him and cue the violin music and like there's no way this is supposed to go this way like this it felt so I didn't love it especially because you know I knew the rock as a wrestler as well growing up so my my true first exposure to wrestling was actually uh WrestleMania 2000 on my N64 I had a friend bring it over and leave it over my house and that was all I had so like I didn't know any I didn't see any on TV but I knew like the rock and I see some of these names that still appear today even though it was that long ago so I kind of you know I knew this is a big deal this is the rock I know he's part of like the the bloodline but it didn't matter like I was so invested in I want Cody to finish this story that I was immediately I was a I was a Cody cry baby I'll admit it's 100% proud let's go I like it I had a brand go where it's who is basically rocks right hand man basically said yeah Cody's supposed to be more upbeat and rah-rah with that promo and that looked like he he went off script of that sadness is like no he just kind of gave real emotion and then we sort of had to change plans from there so I can well I don't know this first term was this for certain I'm gonna trust basically literally everyone that has said yeah we had to reverse course on this because that was not the plan it was supposed to be for doing that to like knowing like your it sounds like you know without using specific names of people in charge it sounds like with this new era it seems like in the old year era from what I was told it was kind of you know there was a lot of arrogance of no this is the better story they just don't get it yet they'll like it eventually and keep pushing it so a ton of respect for seeing the immediate outcry and be like okay you know what they do want rock versus roman it's just not right now this isn't this is Cody's moment and I'm glad they got to make that happen yeah you're totally right about that by the way like really there's there's like one of the few examples of them listening to the fans like this kind of degree would be Brian Danielson who is Daniel Bryan and the WWE they pushed him to the world title WrestleMania 30 um but kind of against their own will like the fans that they was just undeniable and they had to do something yes thing yes movement yeah um and you would have seen him at double or nothing um in that uh anarchy in the arena match uh Brian Danielson losing like a dork yeah he shouldn't have lost yeah um I'm very interested to hear your thoughts on that when you put that video out by the way I'm gonna definitely watch um but uh and that was my turn my train of thought what was I just talking about oh I have a quick I have a quick follow up while you oh yeah go ahead go ahead there Jensen um as far as like watching older stuff and seeing it for uh for the first time you mentioned Ray and Eddie and this is from what 97 and Ray is like still going strong now like what when you watch some of the the older I don't know how much like older stuff you've watched that also features current day people but one have you like what have you watched and then when you do see a guy like Ray in 97 that but also you know still competing now like what are your thoughts on that like wow they've been doing it for this long like at this level hi there's times I like like I think it wasn't that long ago Ray got injured and I think he hit his head on the mat or something like that he was out for a little bit but uh I get you know I worry there's times where I'm like you have someone like Ray who's doing these high flying stuff and I saw I think it was uh was it was a crown jewel or something where it might have been Logan that caught him yep it was kind of weird so I immediately started thinking like wow he's gone so long like it would be a shame that like you know that you went a little too long but then he does these crazy these crazy flips I don't know the names of the moves so I have the time I'm just saying flips and and whatever but I see it I'm like that is so impressive it is incredibly impressive especially um I think more so when it's the smaller high flying guys that are still putting their bodies through you know the the flight and the twisting and the landing outside the ring because those are the guys that you see uh you know diving through the ropes and landing on people outside of the ring uh it's incredibly impressive I've nothing but respect for it yeah he uh he back especially back then in like 97 when he was doing that stuff Ray Mysterio like it was completely mind-blowing like like people just like were not so much of like Ray Mysterio is so heavily influenced like so many of like the current day stars like he's legitimate legend legitimately in my opinion the best luchador of all time like Ray Mysterio is the man it's really cool he's still going there's a guy that I'm very interested to know you're opinion on but you don't really you can't have much of an opinion yet but he's a very polarizing figure who's been around a long time in and out um you have never seen at CM Punk Russell but you know he's back in the company and I know you've heard big reactions to him being a part of the company is there anything you can really say about CM Punk from a fan perspective that hasn't seen him wrestle yet like do you like the promos you like the presentation like are you into what you're seeing with him or do you think he's like overhyped I definitely don't think he's overhyped I was uh when he first came over I had heard well I saw the Chicago pop so that was enough to kind of like okay there's something here like I should pay attention and I don't know it was so I have seen the one match I have seen from him now one of the matches that was requested I saw him against John Cena money in the bank 2011 I think where he's like contract was supposed to end that day and all that um but even when I watched that I didn't feel like when it came to the in-ring action I wasn't like I wasn't blown away or anything but I think it was important that people who suggested a match made sure that I watched the promo packages and I understood what was at stake and that's what made it enjoyable knowing like I think when I watched that one I recorded myself watching it at one point I say uh something stupid I said something like uh it's like well obviously Cena's gonna win this because like we know this and I started being making a point like what doesn't matter that I know the ending because like you know it's all about the story whatever and then the end is see him punk winning and I'm like this doesn't make it like it blew my mind and uh Vince comes out with the with the whole uh the briefcase oh that's how they're gonna keep it someone's gonna cash in because it's money in the bank and dude just leaves the arena so uh from that I was like okay CM Punk might not be someone who is going to blow me away in the ring uh especially if he's later in his career but when the dude picks up a microphone I shut up and listen that is a whatever whatever he has the mic whoever he's talking with someone that's gonna be a segment I'm not checking my phone I'm not you know just listening it's on my main monitor and I am paying attention because whoever he seems to be feuding with I almost feel bad for the for who they're talking to because it's he's just so quick with it I have so much respect for someone with such a quick tongue like that where one of the little moments that stood out was uh Drew McIntyre I think was trying to show off his cool shirt or whatever I think him I don't know if he's I don't think it was at me I think I think was leading up to mania and CM Punk just quickly says listen I've never had to put another man's name on a shirt to sell it and I was like dude he didn't even finish talking you are you just buried the whole thing you just trying to that's crazy uh so I'm very excited to finally see him in a fully cooking feud instead of just I get if he's injured I'm glad they're still using him at least to some degree um but even without being in the ring I see him punk fan which could honestly that could explain to what kind of a fan I am and what I enjoy yeah I would recommend I mean I'm sure I know you get a ton of recommendations but if you do want to see some of CM Punk's recent stuff like outside of like the backstage AEW stuff so like it's been like you know heavily reported and whatnot like his actual on screen run in AEW was fantastic um so like you know you can tell you can still go but it's really a matter of like in his body holding up at this point really with like the age and the injuries and stuff like that but um but yeah that's that's really interesting perspective to have on that I know uh another another match that you would watch fairly recently um that's on your patreon for free you would watch Shawn Michaels vs The Undertaker WrestleMania 25 which is um heavily considered like one of the best matches of all time um did you know much or anything about The Undertaker when he came out and saved Cody at WrestleMania a little bit it's you hear enough and it had watched the uh he was enough of a household name that you didn't need to watch wrestling to to know the bell know the sound like like you know so when the bell hit there was no delay of understanding what was going on um I you know I'm sure that a lifelong fan felt more of it but I promise you uh I was yelling when that bell hit when that when the gong hit uh it I almost feel like it didn't need further or recent context to just feel like a big moment because they had all these people coming out the shield music hit for Seth everyone's just kind of like don't know what's gonna go on and everyone thinks they're gonna hear the glass shatter because that's the big rumor and then the gong hits instead and it's it so that was really really cool it didn't take you know watching a ton of Undertaker growing up to know and recognize that that was a huge moment that's cool because like otherwise like I'd imagine just like the atmosphere and hearing the reactions you'd be like oh my god something big's happening like just based on like three actions but like otherwise it's like this he's the ghost of WrestleMania's past essentially and like it's like this old man standing there but everyone's going nuts like if I didn't know what was going on if you soak if you the lights go off the lights go back on the lights go back off which just happened but uh I know I'm biased but I mean I think that was the best WrestleMania I mean at the end of all time I thought that was the way they wrapped up the Cody thing the the all the returns all the nostalgia that they they built into all that like like I said you're getting into the best time that's just another good example of that I want to ask about the doing the content basically doing now multiple videos a week on on the story lines or different theories whatever news I've seen you news videos like different just all the videos that you're doing like what what have you found good or bad of just now now you're a fan but now you're also basically a content creator in this space so I I have been streaming on Twitch for three years leading up to it so I'd already kind of been in the creator space so that style of looking at things wasn't totally new to me but it did take me a minute to figure out it took me a couple weeks to kind of figure out what I didn't want to be when it comes to making YouTube content on it because my Twitch is now completely shifted over to only doing like WWE like 2k like we have like a community universe mode that like you know all by subs and stuff are a part of and then I'm like okay well I want to make YouTube stuff on this because I just love talking about it I want to just keep making it I think for a couple weeks I was doing almost like show reactions or show reviews where you know raw just happened and I give kind of like a recap it didn't take me long to realize I don't really want to do that I don't think that's what the audience that I've kind of started built up really needs me for we all watch a lot of things and I don't really feel like I need to just add other drop into that very full bucket so occasionally if something big happens I'll kind of give some thoughts on and give a perspective on it but what I've really enjoyed doing with it is I've switched over to interacting with people as much as I can I like asking questions and then using that to fuel another discussion or another video so it is a lot of back and forth within I think that to kind of really answer your question of you know what it what I did to kind of like switch into doing like not just being a fan but doing the creative space since I was on Twitch Twitch is very interactive usually with the people who are in the chat so I think I kind of brought that mentality to the YouTube where I'm doing a lot of Q&As but not just like about me but like stuff that you know kind of like questions you guys are asking there are a lot of people who are curious of you know what is a new fan's perspective of this something that I've seen in my whole life but you know what would that look like to someone who's brand new and then I've kind of flipped the tables a little bit where I make a video here's like 10 things that kind of confuse me about wrestling and it kind of starts a dialogue so getting away from trying to be another source of news and just be a place to talk about wrestling in general I think has been my sweet spot what uh as like a as someone who's been streaming on Twitch for years do you have any like favorite Twitch streamers like not even just wrestling create uh related but like some people that you watch on Twitch like on a pretty regular basis um I would I would watch a come of like a couple of like the the really really big ones for certain games that I had interest in I didn't watch a ton of Twitch while I was streaming because I was streaming pretty much full-time while I was doing it I was going like five days a week because I wasn't doing any of these other socials I was just constantly streaming on Twitch um but I've watched a little bit more since I started uh since I started doing this I'll I'll definitely uh I'll go into like a saunty's up uh stream or like well look at his reactions uh him and wheezy blonde were probably the two that I regularly would check in on during a show um just because it's it's fun to see other people you know react to something that you react to get their thoughts on it uh they were the ones that I was watching when I wasn't even making WWE content those were the like two of the big ones that I found myself using especially saunty with hot with this daily wrestling videos um I would learn a ton from that because he whenever he's whenever it's not a PLE and he's got a you can almost call like filler weeks where he just needs to put something out he does a lot of history so he does a lot of like best of a certain error or best of so even though not all that might be relevant today very often someone like him is touching on stuff that is useful information for me today so usually those are the ones I'll keep up with but uh that's about it. Something else you had just mentioned was you know being interactive with your youtube similar to how you know you would with a youtube with a twitch chat um there so I know you've answered a lot of questions yourself and you have a lot you have questions like is there anything that you would want to ask me and Jeremy like as far as like anything you haven't gotten an answer for that like you have questions about when it comes to wrestling. Tell me tell me how the announce desk works. I got it like breaking it. I don't know if I need to talk to a wrestler or what is it is it does how do they make sure how can Pat McAfee stand on it and do this and then someone else can get dropped on it five minutes later is there is there like a latch or something that the announcer can be like oh that spot's coming up let's make it so it'll collapse is it just if you have to hit it hard enough but then I see people get slammed on it. I want to know how the announce desk works. I am so interested. Do you have the answer for that Jeremy? I think it if you've watched the old videos like it was very frail we put together and it would break at nothing. I think they are well constructed now but certainly when there is certain impact on it that it's going to break but there's obviously like we've seen announced tables not break on on certain impact so I don't think there's like a button that they press or anything that that makes it break. I do think it needs certain impact then sometimes the impact just isn't there and it doesn't hit right and it just doesn't break. Honestly in a recent video and I had like a million different answers but I'll like I'll either support it like yeah there's something that they do or there's another one like no it's just luck or they don't even know when it's going to break or I'm like that just it feels like the WWE is so well crafted in every other area. There's no way the announce desk is a dice roll. They have to know like you know I have to know they want the table to do it. I was going to say honestly like I do think that there's a latch or something in those things because to be right the reason being is because like Jeremy was saying back in the day those things almost resembled like cardboard or like they'd go up on them and like it was rare when they didn't break if they didn't break like someone who's usually getting injured because like it was so rare that like that didn't happen. But also something that I've noticed in recent put it back together. It's like you could see like yeah it disassembles instead of actually shattering it right whereas before it was like if you smushed a cardboard box and it went all different directions the thing was just toast for the rest of the night. Yeah. So I actually you do think there's something in the current announce that tables. Now they don't always break and that's just that's just my guess but I don't I don't know for sure. No I thought you were frozen. Yeah I think it's on to think yeah I think it's actually your gents is down to like 360p right now I think you're kind of yeah usually usually it is my internet and so that's probably why Jensen thought it was me but this this time it is it is all Jensen. No I don't think I mean maybe it's it's latched in and how they do it but I don't think they hit a button or anything I think it's just you got to hit it the right way and then it does break or if you don't hit it that way it doesn't they are certainly a lot lot safer. I don't know if if you uh have no like one they'll clear it all off I'm sure you noticed that to where they they don't leave any of the monitors of the laptops on there. There's there's so much different these older these older ones they're full blown boxes they got to move yeah now they just got these little these little tablets that are just in you know rubber cases now. So they clear that all off to make sure I don't know there's there's certain spots where you can tell the crash pad is very prevalent underneath because you see them land and then you kind of see them lower like as if whatever airbag or something is under it kind of like is deflated under them. You mentioned you just watched Mick Foley and undertake your hell in a cell they didn't do any of that shit like you know what's crazy is uh a common I said the cynic is I have no interest in in faking a reaction for any of the stuff there's so much stuff I haven't seen there's no reason for me to pretend I haven't seen something. So I went into that reaction I told people up front I've seen the clip I've seen him thrown off so I'm not you're not gonna see me go oh my god at that moment I know that's gonna happen but in my mind there's no way that's not the final spot right. So when it happens to kick off the match I still react because I'm like wait a second we're starting the match with that and like okay so it's a short one and to find out that you know the rest of that match happens gets thrown through uh the top of the cell uh the the thumbtacks that I also found out that's real those are real thumbtacks that he the dude is just crazy and then everybody said like if you if you watch that you need to I had to like the next day they wanted me to do a follow up where I've watched uh Undertaker and Mick Foley kind of talk about that match and then get the details of what was intentional and what wasn't and it's mind-blowing. I don't I don't know if I'll see another match that just has me genuinely worried for someone's safety that much ever again that was crazy. I remember what we were talking about how do we start talking about oh the game going down table yeah go to the table yeah it did not look like there was an airbag waiting for him down there. Do you have any interest? Yes you're in CME okay now I know you're on for a second okay um the uh if you ever want to go down the rabbit hole or start seeing other stuff and want more recommendations I mean like I don't know if death matches if you are that's like a completely different type of thing but like I mean we're talking like glass and light tubes and barbed wire and I mean so they have not heard that oh yeah I mean you can there there's there's so much that you can I mean but not not always going to be for you and all this is for everybody I mean like it's uh but I mean if you like hell in a cell and you're like oh man that's the most brutal thing I've ever seen in my life there's stuff you can find out there to scratch that itch so you know if you want some recommendation just DM me and I'll send you anything that anything you're interested in any type of style of wrestling any wrestler that you've maybe been hearing about I'll give you some recommendations if you ever want to reach out and uh you know want some tips like I'd be happy yeah absolutely that's for sure that's the first time I've heard of like something actually just called a death match so that's interesting oh yeah if you heard of the celebrity death match like cartoon as a kid but it's like you can set the same level of uh just no mortality or no that's a referee Mills Lane back in the day oh yeah man no this is uh they they get some of this stuff is pretty wild like they actually this upcoming weekend GCW which is game changer wrestling they're uh they're probably the biggest independent promotion in the US right now they um they have a tournament of survival and cages survival this weekend is just two nights of just straight death matches some of them are in a cage and it's just I mean it's disgustingly violent but it's uh you know once again it's the there's an audience for it like similar to like anything we're talking about like it's so wild how wrestling can bring so many different types of people together because like you know you're talking about like a theater background uh you could have a sports background and understand what's going on in this I saw a youtube video of a girl um I can't remember her name it's hard with a bee I think but she had a really good youtube video that was kind of similar to yours where she's a newer fan and she's talking about how first time she sees it was WrestleMania 40 and they're doing these moves and she's like I was a ballerina growing up and they had like a lot of the same kind of step combinations and choreography and she's like she got it because she was a ballerina you know what I mean so like yeah that's cool yeah I love how you can have all these all these different backgrounds are you a are you a fan of like traditional sports being where you're from yeah uh grew up uh hockey I mean I'm in Michigan so uh grew up a big hockey fan second would probably be football so it's been a rough uh being a Detroit fan it's it's been rough as a football fan growing up but lately it's been all right mm-hmm yeah I'm actually a Minnesota Vikings fan so little a little worried with the uh with the Lions they've got a good squad and the whole industry seemed to vision your whole life just let me have this for a minute all right yeah hey I mean I feel the pain though we don't have any super bowls ourselves so it's it's rough but have the Vikings been a super bowl yes they've lost four thank you anything to lose the super bowl four times it all happened all you say that unfortunately look I'm a panthers fan and we saw like we're awful that we do have two super bowl appearances so I guess that's something we probably judge we probably have heat if you grew up a hockey fan and I assume red wings fan yep okay so I'm an abs fan so you know the rivalry isn't yes I know look if I can squash things with Darren McCarty I've had Darren McCarty on one of the shows that I do and like we're I don't know if we're best friends but like we were acquaintances now um so I can squash things with Darren McCarty I feel like anybody else I would easily squash seeing seeing Claude Lemieux and Darren McCarty squat I feel like them squashing it and kind of being able to talk it I feel like the rest of us can just get over it at that point that if they can all move on and be like you know what it happened we've moved on we've already done everything we need to with it um yeah we but we had like the greatest feud in sports so that was we'll take that yeah now that is red wing and abs fans yeah and you know now east west like we're not even saying conference anymore so the rivalries I miss some of my old rivals like the black Hawks and stuff like that I'm I kind of miss rivaling with some of those but this is what I was so small world Darren McCarty is currently a independent wrestling like manager like he's involved like he's so I he's I don't have anything handy but there's a I haven't gone to an indie show yet but I see advertisers for stuff that have near me and he was on the he was on like the poster and on the card uh him and and Matt Riddle we're both yeah we're both like gonna be the big local like this stuff going on like those are the two recognizable names or whatever for people who don't know the show yet and I almost went to that but I it literally lined up with something else I had going on and uh yeah it's funny you say that I have seen Darren McCarty like in with like the the wrestling world now yeah he uh he actually gets involved himself a little bit with like some of these death matches the guys that he manages do a lot of death matches so like that's cool um that's kind of yeah if you ever check that stuff out it uh very small world um I know you'd also mentioned like though how just welcoming the debitivey fans have been to you just in general oh yeah can you can you speak to that just for people who are watching the show because I know there's a lot of people like there's like the tribalism and wrestling and all that stuff but the companies and whatnot but like there's also I mean some of my best friends that I've made we're just going to wrestling shows and just like standing around and then you just want to talking to people and like I mean just how's that experience been like just as a fan it's been spectacular like going to uh a couple meet and greets and waiting in line and just sitting and talking with people for the next few hours everyone's always super nice and the thing is the difference between the WWE and uh you know I guess you say like traditional like sports is everybody's got the same goal when they're going to the show you know where everyone is going to the show we might have different wrestlers but we all have the same goal and it's to be entertained like there are some people who might take it a bit far and you know if their wrestler loses they're gonna take everyone down with them but that's I mean there's a small vocal minority that's not going to define a whole group but knowing that everybody there it's not you don't have a bunch of people someone with a role with a Roman shirt on and someone with a Cody shirt on aren't going to feel heated in the parking lot those people are going to talk about like you know what match have you you know what match have you seen what show did you go to so it is really cool going to a full arena full of people who are all on the same page they all want they all want to pop to the same thing everybody just wants to have a good time uh I haven't I've had very few I should say uh negative say all of my negative interactions were on the internet so none of them were in person it's only been you know apparently I don't watch real wrestling because I watched the W you know what I mean or I think there's people who don't call it it's it's the E I'm like what is that like I actually asked a guy what does that even mean at least explain to me what you're so there's some people on the internet that'll do that but that's the other side I there's a place I go to eat near me I just the GM of a place I go to eat uh today uh as a buddy of mine now and he found out I got into wrestling in the last year that was cool and just found out today when I told that I watch double or nothing that that's his preferred show you'd never know it because he does it you know we we just talk about wrestling and so it's very easy for anybody to be a fan of both shows it does suck that though you know the toxic side of it uh it exists but I truly believe it's a very it's a it's a very vocal but small minority of people that really want you know the show that they don't even want you to fail just just so theirs can feel like it's the superior show or something yeah and also you know something that I think you just mentioned that I think means a lot I think it's very true is like when you're actually at these shows it's super super unlikely you're gonna have anyone actually confront you or be a jerk to you or anything like it's gonna all be online faceless nameless type stuff and what's even cooler and I think I've pretty mentioned this in in videos as well is you know I do the same thing where like I'm always wearing like you know a wrestling t-shirt or wrestling hat or something like when I go to like the supermarket like there's plenty of times where like you just kind of make that eye contact with someone you're just like what's up you know what I mean like it's cool because like there's so many wrestling fans out there and so many people are like are you just really with the movie Heavyweights from Back in the Day the Disney movie oh you're not oh man uh anyway I I make this reference all the time because it's about it's about kids going to a summer camp and they find out you know it's for fat kids to lose weight and the one kid on the plane that sees another kid on the plane he's like man I'm going to fat camp like like in other kids like loving that he's heading to fat camp because he's been there before and he's like dude no man like you're getting the wrong idea like you're gonna love it here you're not the fat kid everyone's a fat kid like it's like it's like where they go away and people don't judge them you know what I mean so it's like that is a that's a cool way to look at the idea that's like that's a cool message then yeah I love I love that concept of like if you're a wrestling fan like we're all we're in such a niche of a niche of fandom of something anyways that like we should all be friends with one another because we're even into wrestling like fighting over it is the most counterproductive stupid thing possible so yeah I mean in competition is what breeds like innovation isn't that the is not the saying that if your show was the only show it's gonna get complacent it's gonna get boring um sorry um my favorite kind of merch is the if you know you know kind of merch like just like roman's logo or just the american nightmare logo not wwe kody roads or uh i have a a monday night mommy shirt so it's like anybody completely out of context has no idea but you can always tell when someone double takes at it and you kind of have that moment like you said he's like yep like we're we know what's up here that that's my favorite kind of merch to spot in public what how do you want right now oh this is this is actually my logo is that your logo that's kind of dude perfect for you i know you do you know what's funny is i didn't think about that like three years ago when i made it uh i didn't even hit me and i it's funny because i watched dude perfect and so one day i opened up a dude perfect video and the thing popped up i was like i was like i i had already i've had this low i've sold hats i've sold shirts whatever and i'm like ah crap what's i'm realizing it looks a lot like the dude perfect logo um i know i switched when we were talking about it i was gonna switch to this hat just for the rest of the uh for the rest of the conversation but okay but now i i think the logo looks great i just i was i wasn't sure because it doesn't say the dude perfect logo yeah i see the i see the resembles i have a uh that's i have a main event j-1 back there i've got uh roman rains i have a bloodline one the roman logo um and another one i got just because i really like the look of the logo uh Seth Rollins like it's like rainbow like hue or tie-dye whatever but it's just like that s whatever s and r combined to make a logo we have that on a hat too just there's some really just good looking merch in uh in wwe got my bailey zip up i love that when she finally got new merch now that she's a champion it's it's cool really cool merch josh the last thing we ask everybody here on the show uh is the coolest thing in your room coolest thing in my room oh um oh okay i have i want to give you maybe two answers we'll see uh so i've got a uh right here is a summer slam car from the first show that me and my fiancé had ever gone to inside of it is like a mini title belt commemorating like summer slam or whatever we wanted to get that because we knew not only was it summer slam but it's the first show we'd ever been to and we knew at that point we were going to be like lifelong fans so that was big to get um money in the bank case is kind of cool the chair that i got from doing the uh the ringsider experience thing like the vip ringsider thing i think that one is really cool because it's like way more comfortable uh than you would expect but yeah that's a oh i feel like i could go on and i have so much like collectible stuff that i've like really like but those are definitely my two favorites where i feel like uh you know because it feels like you can't just go pick one of those up you know it's something that once you have it like it's it's attached to a moment and not just a brand yeah oh sorry the only the last question i got real quick just based off of that was i know you've been to everything from like the ples to the house shows to Ross back down outside of what i i mean i i don't want to assume i could be wrong but outside of like you know the big ples like and that kind of stuff like or maybe even it is a house show like what's been your favorite experience like live as far as like do you prefer the house shows because of like the interaction do you prefer the ples because it's such like a massive event like well if you had to go to like one type of wrestling show to have the best time as a fan like what time do you think you go to uh to to okay to assure that you're just if you're just wanting to have a good time then i'll i'll also say that i'll answer a question you didn't ask for because i've been asked this a lot um what show should i go to as my first show that's what i've been asked a ton um go to a house show go to a house show because you don't need to know any of the storylines which you're not going to get 45 minutes taken up by a promo for something something that you're not invested in yet it's all it's all matches with i think they usually they'll have whoever the big faces at the time speak at the end but the crowd interaction is there's no comparison it's the only actually the only comparison is smack down after the cameras go off uh because there's no cameras to play to they can do it that's where they kind of goof around a little bit you'll see like the ref do like the juso yeet thing you'll see Dominic flip off the crowd tell everyone to f off um it's it's a very fun experience because it's just purely the match portion of it which i think if you're going to go to a show for the first time you should try to increase the chance that you're going to get more of the spectacle side um obviously if you're gonna watch on tv you know jump into a pl or something so you can see all the big promo packages but i'd go to another house show honestly i would sit as close as i can because it's much cheaper to go to a house show i would sit as close as i can at my next house show you're gonna have a blast at indie shows when you start going to some of these like because you can get right up there on the ring and like some of these companies go literally bat you know beat on the ring to cheer on the wrestlers and stuff i mean like it's super super interactive so i'm really excited to just like 20 bucks for first row 15 for everywhere else i'm like yeah i'm not i'm so used to looking at ticket master for all these other shows and i'm like yeah okay i'll sit in the front there let's go like i'm i'm gonna go to one of those at some point soon yeah and those there's wrestlers are super accessible like most of these shows will have like an intermission or something before and or after the show where you can go up meet pretty much anyone that you become a fan of they usually have merchandise you can get pictures autographs whatever like i i'm very excited for you as a as a newer fan but i i really respect um i really respect how you jumped in so headfirst into this world and how you not only were you accepted by the other fans but like you accept for how how how i see it and how so many other long time fans see this is as a form of entertainment that we love and it's it's for fun like at the end of the day so um no everybody's trying to be entertained by it like it's not about being tricked by it we already talked about it already has to be like yeah once you get over that you know that initial thought of they're trying to trick me just enjoy the show it's awesome okay josh this is for real velocity i'm gonna say because then we gotta get out of here okay wrestling is fake change my mind uh yeah let's go let's go run some fake moves then stunts like i it's fake so let's just give it a shot just for fun i i can't wait until the day where somebody comes at you about wrestling being fake and you're ready to go so yeah but the problem is they're gonna be throwing off because i gotta record this hold on i gotta make sure someone's i gotta pull people i was gonna have this argument i gotta make sure i make it in a video i love it man thanks again for your time gosh
