AP news. I'm Ned Donahue. Boeing is telling federal regulators how it plans to fix the safety and quality problems that have plagued its aircraft manufacturing work in recent years. FAA Administrator Mike Whittaker says Boeing submitted an improvement plan. We underscored that they must follow through on implementing corrective actions and transform their safety culture. This is a guide for a new way for Boeing to do business. The FAA will make sure that Boeing makes lasting changes using all the tools at their disposal. Boeing was required to submit the plan after one of its jetliners suffered a blowout of a fuselage panel during an Alaska Airlines flight in January. Health officials in Michigan say another dairy worker has been diagnosed with bird flu. The third human case associated with an outbreak in dairy cows. The farm worker was quickly provided antivirals and is recovering from respiratory symptoms. France says it will host President Biden for a state visit next week. Revise numbers show the economy grew at a sluggish 1.3 annual percentage rate from January through March, the weakest quarterly rate since the spring of 2022. Consumer spending rose but at a slower pace than previously thought. This is AP News. Police in Detroit dismantled the pro-Palestinian encampment at Wayne State University. Protesters still chanting as Detroit police dressed in riot gear and university officers dismantled their encampment, tearing down fencing and making around a dozen arrests. Local officials say the protest zone posed health and safety issues. Earlier this week, Wayne State University suspended in-person classes and told the staff to try to work remotely.
