This is AP News, I'm Rita Falle. More bad weather ahead for the central part of the nation, more thunderstorms have the rain flash flooding, says the National Weather Service. In Texas, battered by storms, more than 1 million homes and businesses were without electricity at one point. Today will be day two of jury deliberations in Donald Trump's Hush Money trial. The AP's Julie Walker is covering the trial. The second day of jury deliberations in Donald Trump's Hush Money trial will start with a refresher on jury instructions the judge gave yesterday and getting a read back of testimony from two key witnesses. That's what the panel of seven men and five women deciding Trump's fate requested yesterday, so they will read your testimony from former National Enquirer publisher David Packer about the 2015 Trump Tower meeting where he agreed to identify negative stories for Trump. A phone call he says he had with Trump about the Karen McDougall deal and his decision not to sell the rights to her story to Trump. The jury also asked to hear Michael Cohen's testimony about the same meeting. Trump denies all wrongdoing. A top Israeli official is talking about how long the war in Gaza may last. The AP's Joseph Fetterman is in Jerusalem. The Rafa offensive began early this month. This is considered to be Hamas's last major stronghold in Gaza. The offensive is expected to last for some time. In fact, Israel's national security adviser is warning that the war throughout Gaza, not just Rafa, but all of Gaza, is expected to last throughout the year. He is calling 2024 a year of war. Alabama will execute a man this evening, Thursday evening, who was convicted of killing an elderly couple to steal prescription drugs and $140 from their home. Hamas is down to about $357 a gallon on average, $0.04 cheaper than a week ago. This is AP News. Now do a young boy being honored for a good deed, the AP's at Donahue. A fifth grader in Missouri is having an award named after him after clearing his school of lunch debt, 11-year-old Deakin Kramer in Blue Springs, Missouri near Kansas City posted a video last month, challenging friends, family and even strangers and businesses to pay off the meal debt at his elementary school. The goal was $3,500, Deakin raised $7,300, enough to pay all the lunch debt at his school and nearly $4,000 to reduce meal debt at the local high school as well. The soon-to-be middle schooler said he just wanted to do something kind and say thank you to the school. During fifth grade graduation, Deakin's teacher announced an annual award will be named after him, the Deakin Kramer Legacy Award, to honor students who go above and beyond. I'm Ed Donahue.
