AP News. I'm Ed Donoghue. In Normandy, France, world leaders gathered to mark the 80th anniversary of D-Day. Outlight forces stormed the beaches. A year later World War II was over. President Biden says there is a lot to learn from June 6, 1944. We can't let what happened here be lost in the silence of the years to come. We must remember it, must honor it and live it and must remember the fact that they were heroes here that day does not absolve us from what we have to do today. The president spoke as fighting continues in Ukraine. Democracy is never guaranteed. Every generation must preserve it, defend it and fight for it. That's the test of the ages. Former President Donald Trump shared his own D-Day anniversary message on social media praising U.S. soldiers as immortal heroes. Local officials say an Israeli strike on a school sheltering displaced Palestinians in Central Gaza killed more than 30 people, including 23 women and children. David Menser is an Israeli government spokesman. Three rooms in the school in the building were used by Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorists. The widow of Bo Biden is testifying at Hunter Biden's federal gun trial. Holly Biden said she found Hunter's crack at her house in Wilmington, Delaware, and saw him using the illicit drug. She said he got drugs from various dealers. Holly said she also used crack in 2018 after she began a relationship with Hunter. She claimed she stopped using drugs later in the year. Federal prosecutors have argued that Hunter Biden was in the throes of heavy addiction when he bought the gun at the center of the case. They have accused him of lying on a government form. I'm Haya Panjwani. The Southern Baptist Convention is preparing to ban churches with women pastors. This is AP News. More than a million rechargeable lights are being recalled for a fire hazard. There was one reported death. The Consumer Product Safety Commission says good earth lightings now recalled integrated light bars have lithium ion batteries that can overheat and cause the unit to catch on fire. There was one report of a consumer who died. Another consumer was treated for smoke inhalation when the light caused a fire in their home last year. And CPSC adds that good earth lighting is aware of nine additional reports of these products overheating, six of which resulted in fires and property damage.
