Rok 1991 se vepsal do dějin českých, tehdy ještě československých supermarketů. Otevření prvního obchodu tohoto druhu u nás byla velká událost. Dveře zákazníkům otevřel jihlavský supermarket Mana, který nabízel i takový sortiment, o kterém se nám do té doby nezdálo. „Bylo to naprosto něco jiného, jako v Rakousku, o několik tříd výš, než jsme byli zvyklí, a navíc jsme si tam mohli dát i kávu,“ vybavuje si pamětnice Lenka Nýdlová.
