AP News, I'm Ed Donakue. A federal judge is ordering the liquidation of conspiracy theorist Alex Jones' personal assets. He owes $1.5 billion for false claims on his Infowars media platform, the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Connecticut was a hoax. Two years ago, Jones said outside court, he didn't have the money. "It doesn't matter, they do a $500 billion verdict, a $10 trillion verdict, a $50 million verdict. You can't get blood out of a stone. You can't get blood out of these granite steps right here." The judge is still deciding on Alex Jones' company's separate bankruptcy case. The Supreme Court struck down a Trump-era ban on bump stocks, a rapid-fire gun accessory that was used in a mass shooting in Las Vegas in 2017 that killed 60 people. A survey finds consumer sentiment about the economy dropped for a third straight month. Here's the AP's Jackie Quinn. The University of Michigan is out with its monthly consumer sentiment index, and the preliminary number shows it's at 65.6. That's down nearly three points from May. Consumers' outlook has generally been gloomy since the pandemic, and grew even more sour when inflation first spiked in 2021. Inflation has been coming down, and gas and insurance prices dropped last month, but Americans are still gloomy. And that is weighing on President Biden's reelection bid. I'm Jackie Quinn. When they meet on July 23 and 24 in Paris, the Olympics body adds it's in advanced discussions with a potential host that should be announced at the meeting. President Thomas Beck said in an online briefing, the IOC is taking a major step forward in keeping up with the pace of the digital revolution. The e-sports Olympics will build on a week of video game competitions held last year in Singapore. It's a mix of physical simulations of Olympic sports and traditional video games.
