AP News, I'm Ed Donahue. Russian President Vladimir Putin is promising if Ukraine starts withdrawing troops from the four regions annexed by Moscow in 2022, he will order an immediate ceasefire. Putin calls it a concrete, real peace proposal. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin disagrees. He is not in my view, not in a position to dictate to Ukraine what it must do to pursue peace. Putin can end this war today. Ukraine is calling Putin's proposal manipulative and absurd. The Supreme Court struck down a ban imposed during the Trump administration on a rapid fire gun accessory called bump stocks. It was used during the nation's deadliest mass shooting in Las Vegas in 2017. Sixty people were killed. The AP's Jackie Quinn reports the justices ruled six to three that the Trump administration did not follow federal law. The Justice Department classified bump stocks with machine guns. The court's liberal justices suggested its common sense, but the conservative majority questioned why the ATF changed its mind about bump stocks after doing an in-depth examination of that Las Vegas shooting. Today in Parkland, Florida, a large excavator stretched to the top floor of a three-story classroom building where 17 people died in the 2018 mass shooting at Parkland's Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. The long-awaited demolition project is underway. Right-wing conspiracy theorist Alex Jones appears on the brink of losing the InfoWars media platform. He turned into a multi-million dollar money maker over the past 25 years as a bankruptcy judge has set to rule on whether to liquidate his assets to help pay the $1.5 billion he owes for his false claims. The Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Connecticut was a hoax. This is AP News. Jackson Mississippi Police Chief Joseph Wade says a suspect is in custody after two girls, four and six that were the subject of an amber alert in Louisiana were found. More from the AP's Jennifer King. This is an innocent four-year-old child that's no longer with us because of the actions of a coward. Sheriff's officials discovered the body of Mother Callie Brunette in her home Thursday. Her stolen car was found in a wooded area in Jackson. The body of the four-year-old was found nearby. The Hana unit tracked down the suspect, Daniel Wayne Callahan, about two miles away from the scene he's believed to have been acquainted with the mother. He tried to do away with the children by taking them into the woods and to that area. The God that at least one of the children survived. Chief Wade said small animal cages were discovered where the children were found. Why did you bring these children here? Why did you take this child's life? Audio courtesy WLBT. I'm Jennifer King.
