A.P. News. I'm Ed Donahue. President Biden celebrated today's unanimous Supreme Court decision to preserve access to Miffa Christone, a pill used in the most common method of abortion. But the president said the ruling does not change the fact the right for a woman to get the treatment she needs is imperiled, if not impossible, in many states. More from the Supreme Court, here's the A.P.'s Mark Sherman. Russian rights advocates breathed a sigh of relief after the decision. But they cautioned that the court had, in their view, done a lot of damage already to abortion rights with its decision two years ago, which has led many Republican-led states to severely restrict or ban abortion altogether. And nothing about the court's decision today changes any of that. Russia's American journalist Evan Gerskovich, who's been jailed for more than a year in Russia on espionage charges, will stand trial. Here's the A.P.'s Karen Chavez. Gerskovich has been accused of gathering information for the CIA about a facility in Russia that produces and repairs military equipment, if convicted he could face 20 years in prison. The reporter, his employer, and the U.S. government denied the allegations, and Washington designated him as wrongfully detained. NATO defense ministers are hoping to agree on a new plan to provide long-term security assistance in military aid to Ukraine. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin is there. "We will continue to find new options to get Ukraine, the air defenses that it needs to defend its guys. And we will continue to move heaven and earth to get Ukraine what it needs to live in freedom." At the G7 summit in Italy, an agreement has been reached on a U.S. proposal to back a $50 billion loan to Ukraine using frozen Russian assets as collateral. The government has granted the Makai Indian tribe in Washington state a long-sought-after waiver that helps clear the way for its first sanctioned whale hunts since 1999. This is A.P. News. Wine makers from Ukraine visited California's Napa Valley to learn how to heal war-ravaged vineyards. Georgie Molchanov knows how to cultivate grapes, but it's tough to do with un-debtonated mines all around. "We have one rocket directly in one yard and plenty close to one yard." Molchanov and Spittlana Sivak went to California to try to reclaim and heal wounded land. "People in Ukraine still alive. Yes, war is in our soul in our life, but we need to continue our life." Violet Gergech's Napa Valley winery is working with other organizations to do things like safely detonate those mines and work on soil health. "We're seeing horrible things happening in the world. We want to do what we can to help as much as we can. And this is one of the ways that we are very well suited to helping." Sivak's Russian troops are staked out about four miles from her vineyard, but the war hasn't directly affected operations. I'm Ed Donahue, A.P. News.
