The summit plays out after victories by far-right parties in the just-finished European Union elections. Industrialized democracies of the United States, Canada, Britain, France, Germany, Italy, and Japan will use the summit to discuss challenges, including artificial intelligence, migration, and how to help Ukraine as it fights off the Russian war machine. When it comes to online scams and foreign disinformation, research shows chatbots and fake social media accounts get more engagement when they have female personas, the AP's David Klepper reports. Researchers who have studied this phenomenon say human beings are more likely to view women as warm and approachable, making it more likely that they view fake accounts as real humans. The findings demonstrate that while technology may grow more and more sophisticated, the human brain remains remarkably easy to hack, thanks to age-old stereotypes about men and women. Groups linked to the Kremlin and China are using fake accounts with female profile pictures to help spread propaganda.
