AP News, I'm Ben Thomas. Hunter Biden convicted on three felony counts in his federal gun trial. Sucker McGonney reports President Biden addressed a gun safety conference today but did not mention the verdict. Hours after Hunter Biden was found guilty of three felonies. The president did not reference his son but did mention his administration's efforts to curb gun violence and urged those at the Every Town for a Gun Safety Action Fund to keep up the fight. "We need you. We need you to overcome the unrelenting opposition of the gun lobby." The president had earlier said in a written statement, he respects the verdict against his son and loves him. Immediately after the speech, he made an unscheduled trip to Delaware to spend the evening with Hunter Biden and other relatives, Sucker McGonney Washington. Hamas says it's given Qatari and Egyptian mediators its reply to the U.S. back proposal for a cease-firing Gaza with the spokesman says some remarks. Meantime, the UN Human Rights Office is citing possible war crimes by Israeli forces and Palestinian armed groups in the deadly weekend raid by Israeli forces that freed four hostages. Into Florida law, blocking treatment for transgender children has been thrown out. A federal judge is struck down as unconstitutional, a 2023 Florida law that blocked gender-affirming care for transgender minors and severely restricted such treatment for adults. The judge ruled the state went too far when it barred transgender minors from being prescribed puberty blockers and hormonal treatments with their parents' permission and also stopped the state from requiring that transgender adults only receive treatment from a doctor and not from a registered nurse or other qualified medical practitioners. The ban on online treatment for transgender adults was also blocked. Governor Ron DeSantis' office blasted the decision, calling it erroneous and has vowed to appeal. I'm Lisa Dwyer. This is AP News. The World Bank's upgraded its outlook for the global economy, estimating it'll expand 2.6 percent this year on the strength of sustained growth in the United States. How things go on Wall Street? I'm Seth Zetel, and this is the AP Market Support. Stocks drifted to a mixed close overall on Wall Street, but the S&P 500 and the NASDAQ composite still managed to notch more record highs. A big gain in Apple helped push both indexes higher Tuesday. S&P 500 added 3.10 percent, driven largely by gains in tech stocks. The NASDAQ climbed 9.10 percent. The Dow fell 120 points, that's about 3.10 percent. The Federal Reserve announces its latest decision on interest rates on Wednesday. The central bank is widely expected to leave rates where they are. Apple jumped 7.3 percent after highlighting its push into artificial intelligence.
