FEAR IS THE MIND KILLER

If we try to apply logic to convince ourselves that the fear is meaningless and we have no reason to panic, it's not going to work.. What we need to do is to first calm the mind and body down, wrest them out of the claws of fear.

Your morning ray of sunshine, the Anansev Kamana - fear is the mind killer. The immortal line from view that you need to understand and remember, when fear strikes it completely takes over and paralyzes the mind and very often shows up in the body as well. Now in that situation if we try to apply logic to convince ourselves that the fear is meaningless and we have no reason to panic, it's not going to work because the mind has already been conquered. Employing it just sucks us in deeper and deeper into the fear, which is why most often when we are in the midst of a panic attack, we are unable to think or talk ourselves out of it. What we need to do is first calm the mind and body, rest them out of the claws of fear and the only way to do that is to shut the mind, cut off all thoughts, focus just on breathing and relaxing. Employing music or engaging the body in some purely physical activity like walking or whatever else does work. Instead of engaging the fear head on, in that moment when we are most vulnerable, ease our way into a calmer state of mind, once peace dominates our consciousness as opposed to panic, we can examine the fear rational, that's when we will see how hollow and meaningless the horrific scenarios that we were tormented by actually are, but for that clarity, first need to find calm and peace, sunshine in your day. . . . .
