Welcome back everybody to another episode of Froggy the Gator. right there and today we have a few very special birthday announcements so I'm going to get into those now Froggy the Gator would like to personally wish a very special happy birthday to Leo who had his birthday on July 5th so happy birthday to you Leo and then we had another birthday for our grant who turned six on July 6th that's a pretty cool birthday and another big happy birthday as well to Marina who turned seven tomorrow on July 10th and to Daphne who is turning ten on July 13th so some great happy birthday wishes to share for all of you Froggy fans we got Leo we've got our grant we've got Marina and we've got Daphne happy birthday to all y'all I hope you had or will have a great day on your special day and we got a joke today as well this one's from one of our listeners and this joke is from River who is four years old and he's in Boise Idaho and this is a great one River this is a nice joke here I got to give you a credit where credit is due River's joke goes like this what do you call the special letters that birds use to write what do you call the special letters that birds use to write so I'll let you all think about it for a minute what do you call the special letters the the letters that they're using when they're writing words what do you call the special letters that birds use to write and the answer is the owl for bit the I told you it's good the owl for bit because owls are of course a type of bird and it's also a play on words of the word alphabet which is the collection of letters that we use to form words so like I said a very funny joke River the owl for bit nicely done and we've got more jokes and more birthdays coming up soon in the queue so keep those coming and I will try my best to get to everybody but I do appreciate your grace if I miss one because they come in pretty quickly in my inbox and I got a lot of other things going on but I do my best and you can always re-email me email me again if I miss one especially the birthdays I want to make sure I get all those so you can feel free to do that and then today's story starts right now it was a bright and sunny morning in Gator Grove and froggy the Gator was feeling a little bit extra happy today because he had just discovered an old science kit in his attic and he couldn't wait to share it with his friends he ran over to the playground where worm bird and tomato hedgehog and Mr. Hummus were all playing and he said guys you've got to come over to my place and check out what I've got what's the excitement all about froggy asked worm bird as he buzzed down to the ground with his buzz bug wings I found this amazing science kit in my attic said froggy as he held up an old dusty box so let's go back to my house and try out some of these experiments his friend's eyes all lit up with excitement they loved doing activities like this and science experiments in particular sounded like a ton of fun so they all gathered in froggies backyard which was the perfect place for their scientific adventure you know the yard was spacious it was filled with plants and trees plus it had froggies jungle gym that daddy the Gator had built just a few years before it was an ideal backdrop for a scientific adventure let's see what's inside your science kit said tomato hedgehog as they opened the box and inside they found a few very specific items they found baking soda they found vinegar they found food coloring they found some old balloons a small bottle and a written list of instructions hey guys this one looks pretty interesting froggy said it says classic volcano eruption because you know froggy was getting pretty good at reading as he read the instructions and everybody agreed that this was the experiment to start with so they quickly set to work they shaped a volcano around the bottle using some old modeling clay that froggy had lying around and once the volcano was ready they placed it on a sturdy surface and gathered around in anticipation okay froggy said first we need to put some baking soda inside this bottle as he carefully poured the white powder into the vacant volcanoes crater now let's add some food coloring to make the lava look really orange and red and yellow and cool so tomato hedgehog grabbed the food coloring and they dropped it into the bottle a few drops at a time this is going to be awesome tomato hedgehog said then worm bird chimed in I've got the vinegar right here he said holding up a small bottle of the pungent pungent means the smell is very noticeable so he held up a small bottle of the pungent liquid ready everybody ready everybody shouted in unison and worm bird poured the vinegar onto the volcano and within seconds a frothy red eruption spewed out of the crater spilling over the sides and onto the ground the friends cheered and clapped and they couldn't believe that they'd completed a successful science experiment that was amazing said mr hummus what should we do next froggy looked back into his science kit and he found the balloons and the bottle that we mentioned earlier oh well how about we make this self inflating balloon he suggested ah worm bird said that does sound intriguing let's give it a try so they grabbed another bottle and poured a little bit of vinegar into it then froggy carefully placed the balloon over the top of the bottle making sure that it was securely in place now we just need to add some baking soda to the balloon froggy explained when the baking soda falls into the vinegar it will create a gas that will inflate the balloon tomato hedgehog held the balloon while froggy used a small funnel which is something that is wider at the top and narrower at the bottom and if you're ever baking or cooking funnels are really useful because you can pour powders into a smaller container so he used a small funnel to pour in the baking soda and once everything was set froggy gently lifted the balloon allowing the baking soda to fall into the vinegar as expected there was a chemical reaction and the mixture began to fizz and bubble and the balloon started to inflate all on its own right before their eyes look at that exclaimed tomato hedgehog it's working and the balloon continued to grow and inflate until it was fully inflated floating above the bottle the friends were amazed at how these simple ingredients could create such a fun and impressive reaction wow worm bird said science really is amazing as he flapped his bug wings with excitement what other experiments can we do so froggy rummage through the kit and found a packet of what was called instant snow powder hmm he said I'm not sure what this is but I guess it's how we can make some snow even though it's sunny froggy continued let's try this one out and see what happens great idea said mr hummus I've never seen instant snow before so they followed the instructions on the packet pouring the powder into a bowl and adding some water and almost instantly the powder expanded and transformed into fluffy white snow the guys could not believe their eyes worm bird scooped up a handful of it and said this feels just like real snow this is so cool so they spent a little time playing with the instant snow making tiny snowmen and having a miniature snowball fight and as the day came to an end froggy and his friends gathered all the materials back into the science kit and cleaned up their backyard wow guys froggy said after they had cleaned up all of their supplies what a day science is so much fun especially when you're doing it with your best friends absolutely warm bird agreed we have got to do more experiments soon mr hummus added in we know we learned a lot too so science isn't just fun it's actually interesting and it's actually educational tomato hedgehog nodded along I can't wait to see what other experiments we can try next time that's the end of today's story everybody and if you want to get your parents permission and try out some of the experiments that froggy the gator did now remember you gotta get your parents permission first but if you do you might find that you have some fun and that you'll learn something along the way talk to
