You're going to be hanging out with us for the next two hours. We're going to talk about a whole lack of wrestling news. This is what we do. We banter. We do a little bit of wrestling talk, but when there's a big pay per view or a big show, then we kind of dig in. This is what we do. But Jeremy Lambert is here as he always is with me most of the time. How you doing, Jeremy? Gilkal, my city thunder. I've signed Isaiah Hartenstein. All you dorks out there yelling for us to go get us. Like I said, I like one of the team. Yelling at the thunder to go get a big who can rebound, get some size. We got him. We got him. I like the fact that they hired a guy who signed a guy with Hartenstein. Let's get a name. Hartenstein and Brennan, Sean. Nope. Nope. Okay. I guess the people don't know. So I can't really say it. Anyway, there was a lot of wrestling over this weekend, but really the one that was the really the one, the one that people paid attention to the most was Friday night Smackdown, right? Paul Heyman, big moment. Love line, we're going to talk about that later because I think the first, the first half of the show is pretty obvious. It needs to be the conversation about Jack Perry winning the TNT title. What about power slap? What about power slap? I don't know. I watched that. Former AW superstar, Paige Van Zandt. Yeah. She didn't know. She didn't get knocked out or anything. She didn't. But you know what? If you're ever going to knock somebody out. I think I got just the guy for you. The Forbidden Z is returned and muted himself. I'm back. Welcome back. I'm better than ever. Good morning. Nice eyebrows. I've not been on the show in a very long time. I'm exhausted. I'm exhausted from last night. I'm exhausted by life. This is my last week of work and I'm going away. I'm vacationed. So I'm thrilled. But I am tired. Did you go to the show last night, I assume? I did. Yeah, I was there. I left a little early, though. I left. I have a long day ahead of me. I left during the main event. Fake fan. Andrew's area. Fake fan. Well, I did get there at six. So I mean, it was a marathon. Marathon fake fan. Andrew's area. Well, if you suggest that they have less matches or short in the show, people get very mad at you. You did that to yourself, Jeremy. I'm going to tell you something. I did not feel like it was a long show in the building. Fair. It flew by. I looked at Rich and I was like, what time is it? He's like, dude, it's like 10 o'clock. I'm like, really? It was fast paced. I can't speak for everybody, but I did not notice anybody being exhausted by that show. And I'm a big, I argued the point that these shows should be shorter, but it was a really hot show. The crowd was unbelievable. I don't know if it came off that way on TV. It came and went. There was some moments where the crowd was absolutely into it. And then there were times where it felt like they were just kind of waiting for something to happen. It was very loud. I listened to Dave and Brian talk about the show. I haven't heard anybody else so far, but it's interesting being in the building. And I felt almost everything was super hot. They did a great job at every match. The zero hour matches, I was shocked that the level of matches we got on a pre-show. I made the joke that Tony did a two night forbidden door with one night. I thought it was in the building. I really enjoyed it, but I was having a great time. I'm there. I'm having a drink. I'm hanging out. It was a really good vibe. I don't know. I have to watch it on TV. So I'd love to get your opinions on it. So there's this really weird feeling that I have when it comes to a show like this, because what you're saying is absolutely true. The show flew by and it should fly by. You should feel like there's a lot going on and that you, you know, you're not sitting there in every hour or every minute counts and you're just blah. No, I liked when we got to the Mercedes match. I was like, Oh crap, we're almost done. And that's when I realized we only have two matches after this one. So that was good. And then I kind of thought to myself, but also they did the Ring of Honor 2017 paper view gimmick, which was match finishes. We move right on. Match finishes. We move right on. There was no breathing room between some of the bigger moments. And that kind of frustrated me. Like when Britt Baker came out, that was just like came out big fireworks. You know, one face shot, two face shot, big arena shot. And then it's like, we got to go. We're out of time. We got to go to the next thing. Naito wins the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. He doesn't get to really pose on the turnbuckle. He kicks Moxie out of the ring. You barely see it. And then we got to go to the main event. It was very something's were very rushed. And this is obviously criticism of the VAW for a long time. I almost said W said, don't know why. This is a criticism of VAW for years is that, you know, things don't necessarily breathe. But again, the show moved at a pace that was like, I looked at my watch and I said, Oh, okay. I don't feel exhausted. I don't feel like this is dragging. So it's just like you got to be okay with it, but you got to, you know, make peace without the breathing will or won't have. I had a very long week. So I went in exhausted and I, and I, and I, I didn't think I would stay till as late as I did. I thought I would. By the way, it was seven minutes to get home. It was fantastic. I found some random driver, Uber driver. I said cancel your ride. I'll give you cash. Take me home because I couldn't get an Uber. He canceled the ride. I gave him cash. He took me home and I made him blast Caribbean Queen the entire ride where Rich and I were just screaming Caribbean Queen with this man that, that doesn't really speak English, but he knew every word to that song. He's a huge billy ocean fan. You know, that was my, that was me escaping the building. Hold on. There is someone that has a story now of having ordered an Uber and it may even still be in the parking lot of UBS wondering, what, what am I doing here? How am I going to? I can't believe you. This is someone's villain origin story. They're going to figure out who it was. I thought it was great, man. I had fun at the show. I had a fun day. But, you know, it doesn't really matter what the 10,000 people not building really felt. It matters more about what the TV audience of the 120,000 people that ordered it for $50 really felt. But, um, was it worth a 50 bucks? Man, Tony gave you the per hour cost. He broke that down for you for six hours. As he will. You know, I, but it was nice. It was, it was a fun. It was a fun event. I was also at SmackDown on Friday. Yeah, which one is better? It's not even comparable. It's not even comparable. You know, I know, but that's the reality. I mean, listen, here's the other thing, right? I'm not going to see this when you, I thought that SmackDown was fantastic. But the problem with a TV taping, especially WWE one, the stop and goes are so much where you have to now save yourself. Oh, I'm not at a sporting event. I'm at a live, like, I'm, I'm at a TV taping for a TV show that's live. Like really daunting stuff. Like when they go, when they go to break, it's very obvious when they're in break. They literally tell you like, oh, we're a break, but they did so much advertising in that building at the garden for the fanatics thing that's coming up at the Javits Center. Every commercial break, they did commercials in the building where the lights are off. Like LA Knight comes out, right? Santos Escobar comes out. Then LA Knight comes out. They shut the music. They shut the lights. There's no lights on the ring. There's commercials playing on the TV. And it comes back to blasting LA Knight's thing. Yeah, that's, that's the WWE production. It has been for years and years. We got, we got a super chat from Chitown's first thing. We're like 15 minute commercial breaks. And that's more about the WWE's versus AWS. That's, that feels low. I just feel low, but he was like, he was down playing. How many he actually had. I got to a point in my show watching experience where I said, I cannot open another drink with caffeine in it because I need to get some sleep tonight. I need to be up at six a.m. My body normally gets me up at six, so it's just like whatever. So I stopped and I just switched to drinking nothing but water at like 10 o'clock. Worked like a charm exhausted by the time the show ended. Didn't need to stick around for any of the, uh, the post show stuff. I saw where it was going and I said, okay, this is fine. You know, other people will cover it for me and I will pick up the notes and Jeremy Lambert does a wonderful job of those. Those notes and those articles that come from the experience. There wasn't much. Thankfully. I enjoyed Forbidden Door more and hindsight. Once the press conference entered. Cause here's, this is my personal experience. I like the AEW pay per views. They're always good. They're always great. Honestly, they've, they really hasn't been a bad AEW pay per view. Maybe there's one last year. I can't even recall which one it was, but that, the double or nothing. It'd be last year. I know anarchy and the arena was good, but that Jericho and Cole match. That wasn't great. The, uh, the pillars match was like fine. I think I'm, I'm not misremembering the big view. Like most of them are good. Two great worlds. And I know the, the ending of that one wasn't great, but my enjoyment. Is a little hurt by them because. I dread the three hour press conference that follows. Like I watched the show. Just dreading of like, oh God, the shows about that. Like I want the show to be longer in that sense. I know I caused the stir on Friday with my tweet that everybody was. Misreading or I articulated poorly, whatever it might be. No, it's the former. It's the former. Let's be, let's be honest. And this is not a, sorry, just before you continue. This is a common criticism of eight of you pay per view lengths and you presented another option. You presented another idea and people took it the wrong way. So they, people misinterpreted the points. So sorry. So I don't mind that the shows are long. I dread the press conference. That is to follow. I got no, and this was, there was one response to my tweet that I actually got upset about. I'm like, oh, you want the show to be shorter. So you do less work. I do the least amount of work in my entire day, week, month, year on an AEW pay per few. Like that's where I do the least amount of work because I just get to watch the show. That's great. Love watching the show. No problem. I got to do an article, one article every three matches. That's simple for me. I pre-write it all. It's five minutes of work. No issue with that. I want the shows to be longer. The problem is I dread the press conferences afterwards. So I'm like, oh, now I have this long press conference. We've already gone through this pay per view, which is always good. Now I got to watch this press conference in cover. And someone's saying, don't watch the scrum. Literally my job to watch and transcribe the scrum. I would love to not watch the scrum. I was literally part of my job. I was just typing a comment. It's literally his job to watch the scrum. Yeah. So that's where I dread it. Watching the show is like, I'm dreading the press conference because I'm like, oh, it's three more hours of work that I got to do. If I knew this scrum was going to be 80 minutes, would have loved, would have loved this pay per view even more. And in hindsight, I did. Scrum was great. They did the little pre talk with Garcia and Renee and RJ, daddy magic. That was great. Press conference flew by under an hour. Fantastic stuff made me love the pay per view more in hindsight. I also want to put over the fact that they, they, they picked the perfect way to segue from one to the other. It's from the post show to the presser because as we know, Tony would normally take a little bit of time to get to the dais and start these things. So you'd be sitting there with like the music going the whole time. Like, yeah, y'all know the music, right? Like we've all listened to it, right? You know? Yeah. What's this? What's this? It's that for like half an hour. More than that. But anyway, the point of this being you didn't have that this time. You had, you go right into it and you just, you start it, you get it. You get it moving. And otherwise you're sitting there and you're like, when are we going to start? And that drags everything. And this goes back to what you, what we were talking about with Andrew was that things when they move forward, you're not looking at your watch, not getting bored as easily. It's a better experience watching a show like this. I see Dave in the chat being like, solution is simple. Start the main card at six p.m. Eastern. Honestly, if they started at seven, went till 11 30, I wouldn't hate that either. But it's not the length of the card that bothers me as much as it is the midnight finish. Like I get tired too. But also you can all, if you're not us, most fans have the option to split it in half. Go to bed, pick it up later, whatever you want to do. I do think there is discussions to be had of doing Saturday pay reviews. I love the WWE. Does that? I do think there's discussions to be had of starting the main card at seven. So the show ends at 11. I think these are viable, you know, discussions to have the discussion. I was trying to have that I didn't word too well because I had the audacity to throw in a WWE comparison. I know why they can't do this. They're charging $50. Nobody wants five, six, seven matches for $50. You don't, I get it. I don't think they should do that. I'll say it again. They should not do that. They should not give you less matches for $50. If the price point comes down, I think there is more of a discussion to have about this. And the only discussion I'm trying to have with this is show something we've talked about a million times on this show is the perception of importance. If you're paying, let's say $30 for this show and it's six, seven matches. Or seven or eight, do those matches, do they have the perception of being more important in that sense? Like if you're just take your top seven to eight matches, it's like, these are the most important matches instead of loading it up with 15 matches, it gives the perception that these are your most important matches. You put others on a pre-show, on the buy-in, you put others on throughout the week on TV, put someone collision, put someone before or after. But you're telling your pay-per-view audience, these are the eight most important matches that you really want to pay for. That's all the discussion I was trying to have. And it's a really interesting discussion in the way that wrestling has evolved in terms of the pay scales. There was a time when WWE didn't have the network and you were paying for a pay-per-view, that's what you got, you got eight to nine matches, you got a three-hour card, and a lot of wrestlers were paid based off of pay-per-view buys. Then the network came along and things changed and, you know, some wrestlers asked questions about pay and how that's going to change as well, CM Punk, notably being one of them. And as a result, the WWE way of paying changed as well. And then AEW comes in and they're running pay-per-views. And once you start running a pay-per-view, that's as long as it is with a roster as big as theirs, you want to get your people paid and make sure that they're paid based on the value of their signing. So, you almost feel the need to do these 15, let's call them 13 match cards, that's what it was last night with the zero hours, about 13, 14 matches. >> They had a more Pintico and Kyle Fletcher, the thing was all about 15 matches. >> Yeah, you're right, that part felt a little weird. When I read that, I was like, no, no, what we're doing here. By the way, shout out to Sir Pintico, because, you know, he got back in the ring after having had a little bit of an issue that sent him to the hospital after an AEW taping, like, good to see him back on his feet. And if that was a way for them to be like, glad you're back, go do your thing. By the way, Kyle Fletcher is going to beat you in a minute and a half. But anyway, the point being, you know, thanks for coming out, Sir Pintico, you work hard. If you have a 15 match card and you're paying off of the pay-per-view buys, then I understand from the making wrestlers' whole argument why you would do it. But I also feel that there should be an importance of matches. And having 15 can make things feel a little less important. Case in point, the match we just talked about. And also, and I got it, that's zero hour, but you had three really good pre-show matches announced before you added a couple. It's very strange the way that they kind of played that out. But you can make the zero hour must see so that you make people want to watch the main card. And they did a really, really good job with the Mariah Mae Serre match, getting you bought in to Tony Storm and Meena Sherakawa later in the night because you had both women in that match make appearances at different points. And it worked. But then you had a bunch of other stuff and it's like, it's a little strange, a little strange to do that to me. The Trio's match with Lucha Bros. and Mystico against LIJ, that was a great pre-show match. That was where if I'm watching the pre-show, I'm like, "Oh, you know what? I might actually check out this pay-per-view." I think there's something to be said for the perception of stuff. And again, we've talked about it plenty of times where my wife Lacey uses the line. If everyone is incredible, no one's incredible. If you say every match is great, every match is tremendous, every match is a five-star match, every match is the most important ever, then not every match is the most important ever. This is every sport does the perception of this means a little bit more than this. Maybe they don't outright say it, but they tell you in placement, they tell you in advertising, they tell you in just marketing, which I guess the same as advertising. They tell you that this is more important, and AEW doesn't always do that. And sometimes I wish they would do it more. And I think these conversations can be had because perception a lot of times is reality, and the perception of AEW right now, stuff is going down. Ratings are down, attendance is down, the promotion's not as hot as it once was. The pay-per-views are always great, they always have a strong pay-per-view card, and then we hope things turn around, and then the television, the follow-up isn't always the best coming out of the television. And we'll talk about the actual pay-per-view here in a second. But I think we can have conversations about the perception of this when things are taking a little bit of a downturn. If things were hot, if things were great like they were in 2021, these conversations aren't happening because everything is clearly working. Something right now clearly not fully working, so we can have these conversations now. Actual pay-per-view, fantastic. Swerve Wheel Osprey delivered, as I think most people expected it to deliver. I could have lived without the Don Callis stuff, that didn't, that was whatever to me. Even the Tiger Driver stuff, like I didn't like that story in the first place, and they still didn't like, oh he double underhooked, and then he just did the Stormbreaker. It didn't really hesitate on anything, and then he went for it, he even said Tiger Driver, and then he goes for it and Swerve reverses. Like, okay, he didn't really hesitate to do it, he hesitated in maiming Nana with the screwdriver. That's where he hesitated, and I assume Don Callis is going to be like, "See you shouldn't hesitate, he should have killed him and then got back in and hit Swerve and killed him too." And it's going to lead to this big turn, kind of lived without the Don Callis stuff. Rest of the match, fantastic, finish, fantastic. Osprey finally, like running out of gas after being basically superhuman, and that was the story of the match, right? Is Osprey thought he was superhuman? Osprey thought he could just continue to get away with, I don't call it no selling, but just going forward with these moves, and taking it, popping back up, hitting hit and blade done, and he tries to hit and blade Swerve just, nah, nah dude, you ain't got enough, you ain't got enough, and then put them down, fantastic. I hope the follow up is Osprey losing on Wednesday. You want Daniel Garcia to pick up the International Championship on Wednesday? After this match, Osprey had, if he just bounces back and just beats Daniel Garcia, who they're trying to build, I know Daniel Garcia doesn't have any big signature wins, but they're trying to build him and level him up a little, but I think Osprey should lose. He just beats Daniel Garcia, just bounces back, it's like okay, that puts Swerve over a good bit, but I don't feel it tells the story it needs to tell with Osprey. So I'm curious about what Osprey does for all in, if he drops the International Championship now, before we get into that, there was a little bit of a tease on social media. Dijak was backstage as reported by Bible Select, and he posted a photo of his sunglasses, his signature sunglasses in the background, I know he's I see your face, but on the photo was, you know, it just happened to be, will Osprey's gear. Is there space for a Dijak will Osprey feud without a title if you bring in a guy like, even for, for a cup of coffee, like Dijak. I mean, there's, there's space for it, but it ain't gonna last very long and it ain't gonna go well for Dijak. I'm saying you bring him in for a cup of coffee, you haven't come in and give him a, you know, give him a good program with Osprey and then that's just it he's in for a month and that's it, he goes back to doing the stuff that he's doing right now and decides if he if he wants another contract anywhere else. I don't, I don't think there's really much conversation to have with Dijak. I think he was doing what he should be doing and that's working and trying to get a conversation about him, but I don't think there's the conversation to really be having the conversation more about ricochet who could potentially be coming in and potentially facing and I know five host like reported there's no like plans for Osprey and ricochet but I think that's a bigger conversation is ricochet and Osprey at Wembley. The match is Osprey and MJF at Wembley. Where does Garcia fit. I don't know. Is it Daniel Garcia wins on Wednesday MJF actually beats him before that I don't know if they want to hop tight of the title this much. But MJF beats Garcia for the title and then we do Osprey and MJF where MJF walks in the champion. The three way to the I'm fine with that too like I'm fine if Daniel Garcia wins the title and you that sets up a three way at all. And at that point I'd like if they're really going to the moon with Garcia let him get a pin on a major on a major star let him like let him pin MJF he was going to pin will Osprey this Wednesday, for example, when the international championship go into Wembley they make it a triple threat. So, I'm going to pin MJF have them really prove that he is the guy that you are telling us he's supposed to be. I don't hate the idea of doing that Brian Alvarez and Dave Meltzer interviewed Tony con before forbidden door. One of the questions that Brian asked was about you know fans fantasy booking and how the outcomes may affect Tony's change of direction or potential change of direction and Tony said you know he basically gave a pretty boilerplate. You know the fans and you know sometimes I make changes and things like that. If Osprey and ricochet is not officially in the plans. Could this be one of those times where you know as Tony says I'm paying attention I'm more in tune than you think I am. What do you think. I think if ricochet is coming in then yes I does any a lot of people are going to want Will Osprey and ricochet at Wembley and I think Tony would potentially pivot to that if that's the case. But he might wait until after Wembley to do that or he might have just stuff factored into where it's like you know we can do something else with ricochet the people will still want Osprey and ricochet that's not going anywhere in terms of contract wise. Obviously guys can get hurt and stuff can happen it would be unfortunate but Osprey is under a long term deal if ricochet sign he'd be under a long term deal you can hold off on that and people will still want to. It would be okay. You can also run that match it all out and it would be good. A good reason to come to Chicago because there aren't that many good reasons to go to Chicago. I don't think you want to run that on like two weeks notice though. Well no you don't necessarily do it like that you know that Osprey has a let's let's again going on with our our thread of saying they do a three wait for the international championship. Ricochet comes in before that and says you know I want Osprey and Osprey says okay you got me broven to whatever you can set it up on a week's notice actually this is something they could do is like a. A last minute dream match do the teases and then it's undeniable it has to be ricochet. You could make it work. Yeah yeah. And again you can have a this is this is why I always advocate for stronger cards with strong matches people want to see so that if you throw on. A last minute match like that people are still bought into other things on the card. It's not just like a you gotta watch this match because that was what that was the problem with all that last year. It was built on the back of Darby versus Christian cage. And that was kind of like. Is that enough. And also week like but I'm saying like to get people at least directly interested. They had one match and then in a week's time they had to turn around and confirm the rest. Wrong match no wrong show that was. That was wrestle dream because that was Copeland's debut that that show was it was built around see him punk. This wasn't Chicago. And you know stuff happened at all and because what headline all out was Moxley and Orange Cassidy. Oh there was Moxley Orange Cassidy. Yeah. What was the really. Yeah. But then what was it then. So there was one match that they built on all out early. No what it was lichesaurus and Darby Allen. They weren't told all that was announced earlier. Yeah. Okay. So I'm not crazy. The story was still around Christian cage and Darby. So I'm not really crazy. It was just it was. Yeah it was kill switches source versus Darby that was the match that the kind of that was first announced and they hope that that was like the start of the build and it was then everything else was was added to the car. Okay. So I'm not totally crazy. Let's add it. Let's get a couple to I am crazy but not totally. Yeah. Sorry times versus Jaguar's red zone numbers weren't great last year. It's a fair point. It's got a good point staying. It's like Saturday, pay-per-views went to collision moves nights right. It never stopped them before. It's always been NFL season. That's kind of affected where the pay-per-views land. It is with collision being there, you know, a little bit. It's like, well, now we're taking off one of our shows on TNT to do a pay-per-view. How does one really feel about that? Not sure. But yeah, if collision actually moves nights, let's take collisions on a Thursday. Then it becomes a little bit easier to slot in your Saturday pay-per-views every single Saturday instead of just NFL season or non NFL. Yeah, just NFL season. Sorry. Man, if they moved collision the Thursdays, I wonder what Kresta would do because she does the post DNA shows with me on Thursdays. Let's be honest, if they move collision to a Thursday, which I'm not sure they're going to do, I really, there's not a great night for collision. This is why Saturday kind of works. If it's a Thursday show, they're better off taping it on Wednesday, I feel, because unless they can double book the building and they get it cheaper that way, but then you're asking fans to come to the arena for two shows and collision is just always a weaker show. There is Thursday, as well. There's just not a great night unless you're going to put it on Tuesday, but then you're still running the same thing. I'm like, okay, you're going to double book the arena. You're not going to go against Monday. You're going to go Sunday? Then you run into the same problems you have now with other pay reviews and other PLEs that happen on Sunday sometimes. We can tell there's no PL release that happens on Sunday. Not anymore. They've moved away from that. That's true. Unless it's summer slam next year or less. Unless it's NXT, which also does two nights, but they're already running into that problem. If it's two nights with Saturday collision. They'd actually face less WWE competition if they move collision to a Sunday and then do a pay-per-view on a Saturday, because obviously you wouldn't book the same weekend as it would be. I noticed that grand slam this year is both collision and dynamite. They are going to do four hours, no rampage, at least that's being advertised as part of the taping schedule. Who knows? Maybe by that time, they're thinking that rampage will run into a third hour block somewhere. They could end up still be taping five hours of TV plus Ring of Honor. I don't think a lot of Ring of Honor are at the rash. I just don't think so. I think they do go back to monthly Ring of Honor tapings at wherever they might be. But moving collision off of Saturday is a lot. Feels easier said than done because you got to look into arena booking with everything. And again, do you book the same arena for both nights or do you do separate travel schedules? Then you really have to split the roster. If you tape collision and you tell everybody it's a taped show, which I think they would know by that point. It kind of weakens that show overall. It's a tough, Saturday makes sense because you have the break in between of, alright, we can still travel for a Saturday. You try to do any other night, you're facing tougher competition and it might not work out. If there was ever a way to do your Saturday AWP, pay per views and have collision be the zero hour effectively. And then you have to move collision a couple hours back. If there was ever a way to do that, that would just, that would be a good way to do it. Make collision your lead in show. But that would be every few months, or every month or every other month, whatever it is. Just putting out ideas. I like the idea of collision moving off of Saturdays. But like you said, is there really a better spot for them other than maybe Thursdays? And then how do you logistically make it work without having to do a roster split or having some sort of, again, logistical, you know, issues come up. It would be a very, a very different problem for AW to tackle. Cam Bruno sent a super chat as well, saying, "I was there at Forbidden Door, 15 matches is just too much. Cut the Jericho Trios match and have two matches on zero hour. It would be more digestible." Again, it comes down to your experience. I tend to agree with you. If you can make things a little more concise, a little more important on the other matches, you can cut a couple, move into dynamite, move into collision, whatever it is. It was between him and Takeshia, and with Takeshia going to work with G1, it felt like, "Why would you win and send him away when he's going to be gone for that time?" Jackberry winning made sense. God bless Jackberry not having to take many bumps in this match compared to the other five men who went absolutely crazy, good for them. But yeah, Jackberry is the TNT title holder. What happens next with Jackberry? Another elite member holds a title. That table spot with the blue thunder bomb with the table shattered. One of the best. Yeah, it was fantastic. And the table made it. The table breaking the way that it did, things flying in the air, that made it so much better. Look, the match was good. The winner was predictable when you looked at that lineup, though, and I think that was a little, it took a little enjoyment out of it. There's a little bit about Jackberry. This is more about the overall elite storyline. They got to do something to really heat this thing up, going into blood and guts. Tony Khan took that TK driver over two months ago, and it doesn't feel like it ever happened. Like they did the follow up wasn't good. The elite doing wink and nod kind of carny heel stuff didn't play for that angle. And that's how, but that's what they've been doing the entire time. Okada just says, bitch, and like it's hilarious. Like it's funny, but is that what you want out of this serious angle where you took out the owner of the company and then you have the, oh, we can't have you just taking the TNT title. You got to do a ladder match. I didn't really Jackberry struggled at all. It didn't feel like Jackberry was against any overwhelming force of AEW. It was just like, instead of being handed the title, I got a beat due to lose all the time on television in a ladder match. Oh, look, I did exactly that. Jackberry hit a couple spots and that was it. Yeah, like, there's got to be a little bit more with this story because even even the, um, the elite match against acclaimed and Tanahashi. Like once Tanahashi came in, it was like, oh, ok, well, I know it was taking this pin fall. Like, fine. I know the acclaim beat the bucks and attack team match, which is at least something and they're going to do the rematch at some point. But I need a little bit more out of this story and I think Swerve Strickland is the guy to get more out of this story. And I think Hangman Page's looming return is the guy who can really kick up this story as well. So I'm hoping coming out of the show last night, that's what we get going into Dynamite because Swerve, they've done what they have done pretty well with Swerve and this story is he's part of it. You know, he had the kind of showdown when Blooding Us was announced with the elite, he was going to be part of their team, he's called them and he said it was a bitch move, taken out Tony like that. So they planted some seeds there. We need Swerve to really drag out the bucks, like, to up their game when it comes to series. If they keep doing winking non bullshit with Swerve, then I'm just like, I give up at that point. It's not the way to play this. Because I kept thinking about that. I was like, man, Tony Khan took that. And it's like, nothing really, there were no consequences for it. Nothing came out of that. The wrestlers didn't care. No one stepped up and defended the honor of Tony Khan. You know what it feels like Joel? It feels like a series of events have just happened instead of a cohesive storyline with this. It just feels like that happened, and then a random series of events have occurred afterwards. Sometimes they're connected, sometimes they're not. But it hasn't felt like it's actually been a connected story that have taken place after that happened. I think that's unfortunate. Yeah, I think you hit the nail on the head. It is just an event after event after event. Now, unfortunately, this event is also going to go to blood and guts, like you mentioned. And yeah, someone pointing out Darby stepped up. Like the Darby stuff was good. It really was the fact that he was a guy to replace Eddie Kingston. We said on the show, that's the right choice. That's a guy who makes a lot of sense there. But then he just disappeared afterward and there wasn't a great follow up as to why he was gone or the magnitude just wasn't as big as it should have been for for anarchy in the arena. FTR came out and they cut the FTR promo and then they just wrestled Blackpool and kind of a throwaway match that went 20 minutes time limit draw. And I understand Dax was hurt coming into it. And then Brandon Cutler had authority for some reason that week for that was God awful. And that was that and then FTR was done. And then he didn't even care. He's like, ah, now I'm going to start winning matches and be in the Owen and I love the annual son. I hope he does win the Owen's great match against Shinko, as expected. But like the there was no great follow up to anarchy in the arena. And we talked about the time that there was no real stakes for it. So that made it feel lesser. And so going in it didn't feel as important because there were no stakes coming out. It really didn't feel as important because the follow up was. Brandon Cutler can decide that a match doesn't have five more minutes, like. Dumb. And then they set up blood and guts and blood and guts was a challenge made by the team that won anarchy in the arena. And there are still no stakes, but there could be. There could be. They could. You got 20 days and they could say, you know what, we're going to put up all of our titles. And if we win, we retain and if you win, then you all get the title, the claim, get the tag titles, the daddy ass wins the continental championship. We'll talk about that in a second. My, as my eyes start to blink uncontrollably and swear with the world title, you know, they could find whoever if it's hanging their page and there's another person, whoever it is. That's going to be part of blood and guts. Maybe put a bunch of titles online and that's a blockbuster. Blood and guts. Solo has frustrated into the point where he has to say those words. So for me, when I heard it, I thought to myself, okay, it didn't make it sound like Solo's a bitch. He made it sound like he's annoyed at Solo. So he's going to down. He's going to talk down to him just because he doesn't have anything else right now. That's fair. I understand that point of view. I don't even really disagree with it. So yeah, I get that. I just worry of them doing it too much. And that's still, that's still a concern. You know, hopefully the next time it goes about, it's, it's a little bit less. And, you know, we shall see. But obviously the actual closing segment of this is, is the big thing here. And putting Heyman through the table. Heyman not acknowledging him. I love the Heyman cell when he pulled out the Ulfala as well. He's like, that's Romans. And like, Heyman did great, great work on this. And look, do I think Solo is now a big time killer because he beat up Paul Heyman? No, because Paul Heyman is Paul Heyman. He's not a wrestler. What sells you on Solo is he's clearly willing to go to lengths that weren't established beforehand. He's willing to turn on Paul Heyman for Paul Heyman not acknowledging him. He's maybe willing to, you know, off Roman Reigns because how else did he get it? He will follow. He said, Roman's not coming back. Okay. Well, how'd you get this thing? He's willing to defy Roman Reigns is really the story here that, you know, it's there. If you're watching the show, you see it. He's defying what Roman Reigns is. And we know the pedestal Roman Reigns is on. So the fact that he's willing to do this elevates Solo without having him beat. So many of you, he should still beat some people though. But the, I see the story that they're telling of how they're elevating solo and turning on Heyman is another part of that. And like all he did was a clothesline and he got a phone call from the 49ers organizations, like never do that again. No, getting approval for these types of deals from like the team, very, very tough. Because anything could go wrong. Got to get hurt. And then that's an investment that the team has made and they just got hurt at this wrestling show. People freaked out Jalen Brunson injured his hand in the playoffs.
