AP News for Friday, July 12, I'm Ben Thomas. That's from Biden, when after Donald Trump had a campaign rally in Detroit, putting a spotlight on Project 2025, a proposed overhaul of the federal government, drafted by longtime allies and former officials in his administration. It's a blueprint for the second Trump term that every American should read and understand. Now, of course, Trump is lying about him now. He said, tries to distance himself, just like he's tried to distance himself from all of returning Roe v. Wade, because he knows how toxic it is. But we're not going to let that happen. Sucker McGonney has more on Biden's trip. Michigan is part of the effort to shore up the so-called "Blue Wall States," his campaign believes is the key path to winning in November. Before heading to Detroit, the president met virtually, with the Congressional Black and Hispanic caucuses, to shore up support. The president understands that there's still some anxiety on the hill. Biden campaign spokesman Michael Tyler says this much is clear. He will be the Democratic nominee. And the party needs to unite behind one message. We have one singular mission moving forward, and that's to beat Donald Trump. His remarks on Air Force One came after one lawmaker who met privately with the president today, said he needs to drop out. Sucker McGonney, Washington. Sources tell AP, former Trump White House trade advisor Peter Navarro is expected to speak at next week's Republican National Convention. He's currently in jail on contempt of Congress charges, and the remarks would come just hours after his release. New Mexico judges dismissed the involuntary manslaughter case against Alec Baldwin over the fatal shooting of cinematographer Helena Hutchins, the judge cited prosecutors withholding of evidence from the defense. A weekend without electricity ahead for as many as half a million in the Houston area, power was knocked out Monday by Hurricane Beryl. In the first death of California's wildfire season has been reported in Mendocino County, human remains found in a home burned in a fire that started Monday. This is AP News. A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket malfunctioned after liftoff Thursday night, leaving the company's 20 Starlink satellites in the wrong orbit. Flight controllers managed to make contact with half of them, attempting to boost them to a higher orbit. In high up in Joining reports, we're getting new images from space. The Webb Space Telescope has captured a pair of intertwined galaxies glowing in the infrared. NASA and the European Space Agency's observatory photographed the two galaxies 326 million light years away, surrounded by a blue haze of stars and gas. The pictures marks Webb's second anniversary of science operations. NASA says the neighboring galaxies, nicknamed Penguin and the Egg, have been tangled up for tens of millions of years. The same will happen to our own Milky Way and the Andromeda Galaxy in four billion years. I'm Haya Punjuani. And I'm Ben Thomas, AP News. Thanks for listening. What's next?
