AP News, I'm Ed Donoghue. President Biden's re-election campaign is facing new trouble. The AP's Sagar McGonney reports two allies are weighing in on his future. On MSNBC, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said it's up to the president to decide if he should stay in the race, rather than her saying he should stay in. "We're all encouraging him to make that decision because time is running short." The president insists he will not step aside. "What's going on this week is really a family matter." Just weeks after hosting a glitzy Biden campaign fundraiser, actor George Clooney says it's time to end the campaign. He writes in a New York Times op-ed, "The Joe Biden he saw last month was not the Biden of 2020, but rather the same man we all witnessed at the debate." With another House lawmaker calling on him to step aside, the president will face another public test tomorrow, at a news conference wrapping up the NATO summit. Sagar McGonney, Washington. "Patitions for an abortion rights ballot measure in Arkansas have been rejected. The Secretary of State's office has statements required regarding paid signature gatherings were not submitted. A spokesperson for the group behind the measure says they're reviewing the letter. Alec Baldwin's lawyer said in court in New Mexico, the death of cinematographer Helena Hutchins on a movie set in 2021, was an unspeakable tragedy. But Baldwin did not commit a crime. He was acting. Baldwin is charged with involuntary manslaughter. Erlinda Johnson is the prosecutor. "The evidence will show that someone who played make-believe with a real gun and violated the cardinal rules of firearm safety is the defendant, Alexander Baldwin." Police in Britain say they found the man suspected of the crossbow killing of the wife and two daughters of BBC radio commentator John Hunt near London. British media had reported the suspect was an ex-boyfriend of one of the daughters. This is AP News. An Israeli airstrike at the entrance of a school turned shelter killed at least 31 people. "According to an AP reporter who counted the bodies at NASA Hospital in Canunis, Hospital spokesperson William Fares said the dead included at least seven women and children, and that the toll was likely to rise. Heavy bombardment in the north meanwhile has forced the closure of medical facilities in Gaza City and sent thousands fleeing in search of increasingly elusive refuge. Israel's new ground assault in Gaza's largest city is its latest effort to battle Hamas militants regrouping in areas the army previously said had been largely cleared. I'm Charles Tillatasma." The Israeli military urged all Palestinians to leave Gaza City and head south, pressing ahead with a fresh offensive. There was no immediate mass exodus out of the city following the order. Many Palestinians have concluded there is no refuge in Gaza. I'm Ed Donahue, AP News. "An official message from Medicare." A new law is helping me save more money on prescription drug costs.
