AP News, I'm Ed Donohue, California Democrat Pete Aguilar says everyone in the House Democratic Caucus is clear-eyed about the stakes in this presidential election. Donald Trump cannot be allowed near the Oval Office and his extremist allies must never be allowed to pass a national abortion ban or their dangerous Project 2025. There are some Democrats in the group who want President Biden to step aside Republicans like House Majority Leader, Steve Scalise, says America is getting a glimpse of the real Joe Biden. "Everybody up here in this town that's interacted with the president is known for years, that this is the Joe Biden that we've all seen, and then the whole American public got to see it on display." The Biden campaign has already launched coalition groups focusing on black and Latino voters, one person who was in the room described the Democratic meeting as "dower." The NATO Summit is underway in Washington, leader Jens Stoltenberg says decisions will be made on Ukraine, and the need is there. "We have seen new Russian Islam attacks against the cities, against the child hospital. Many children, so we didn't have been killed, and it just demonstrates the brutality of Russia's order of Russian against Ukraine." NATO has signed nearly $700 million contract to have member countries produce more stinger missiles. Palestinian health officials say an apparent Israeli strike on a school where displaced people were sheltering in southern Gaza has killed at least 19 Palestinians. And appellate court has ordered the release of a Missouri woman, Sandra Hemney, whose murder conviction was overturned after she served 43 years in prison. But the state attorney general in Missouri is still trying to keep her behind bars as the case is reviewed. Wide recovery efforts are underway in Texas after barrel left millions without power in the soaring heat. Barrel has now moved into Arkansas and other states as a much weaker storm. This is AP News.
