Democrats are divided over whether he should drop his re-election bid after that poor debate with Donald Trump. President Biden is standing firm against calls for him to end his re-election bid. Many in his own party say the president needs to step aside after a dismal debate, but in a letter to congressional Democrats, the president says he declines. Men wants the intraparty drama to end. He writes Democrats have one job beating Donald Trump in November, and any weakening of resolve or lack of clarity only helps Trump. Questions about the president's future have been swirling for more than a week on Friday. I'm staying in the race. Yeah! I'll beat Donald Trump. And said he'll only step aside if the Lord Almighty comes and tells him to. Sagar Magani, Washington. Barrels stormed ashore as a Category 1 hurricane early this morning. The center of the storm hit about 85 miles southwest of Houston, knocking out power, flooding roads, canceling some flights. The National Hurricane Center's Jack Bevan. The impacts are going to be ongoing for several more hours. We are getting reports of strong winds along the coast in the area south and southwest of Houston. Heavy rains are going to spread well inland with the storm. There will be a chance of tornadoes as well. So barrels moving inland, but this is not the end of the story yet.
