AP News. I'm Ed Donohue. Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers is backing President Biden. The president is campaigning in Wisconsin as doubts loom among Democrats about whether he has what it takes to keep running. The president talked about last week's debate. We can't say it's my best performance. But ever since then, there's been a lot of speculation. What you're going to do? Is it going to stay in the race? Is it going to drop out? What you're going to do? Well, here's my answer. I am running and going to win again. President Biden will be interviewed by ABC's George Stephanopoulos after the campaign rally in Madison. It will air tonight. A dam in a southeastern Wisconsin community has been breached and people living downriver are being evacuated. Donald Trump asked a federal judge to freeze the classified documents case against him in light of a Supreme Court ruling this week that said former presidents have broad immunity from prosecution. The request underscores the potentially far reaching implications of that opinion. Police in Huntington Beach, California, say a July 4 attack killed two people and injured three others in a crowded area near downtown. A suspect is in custody. Category 2 hurricane barrel has reached land along Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula. Mike Brennan at the National Hurricane Center says parts of Texas could be feeling the effects. Life threatening storm surge, especially as we move northward along the Texas coast of almost places like Baffin Bay, Corpus Christi Bay, Matagorda Bay. So be on the lookout for storm surge watches that will likely be issued later today for portions of the lower and middle Texas coast. Barrel is expected to quickly weaken to a tropical storm as it crosses over the peninsula before reemerging into the Gulf of Mexico and likely regaining hurricane strength. This is AP news. More passengers are complaining air travel is miserable. The transportation department says it received nearly 97,000 complaints in 2023. It's about 11,000 more than the previous year. More than two-thirds were about US airlines but foreign carriers had their share too. The increase came as airlines canceled far fewer flights. There was a 25% increase in complaints over the treatment of passengers with disabilities and more reports of discrimination. The transportation department says it is modernizing its complaint-taking system which should help the agency do a better job overseeing the airline industry. I'm Jackie Quinn.
