Inky News, I'm Ben Thomas. An exit poll suggests Britain's labor party is headed for a landslide victory in parliamentary elections. Jellales reports the result will again alter Britain's relations with the European Union. In terms of a massive radical reset, I don't think we'd get that, but I do think we would get just a lot more goodwill on both sides. Under the Conservatives, Britain and the EU had a really rocky relationship. There's a lot of mistrust. That would start to be rebuilt under a labor government. In U.S. politics, President Biden has been making his case to stay in the 2024 race at Donahue reports. In the week since his shaky debate performance, the president has been talking to fellow Democrats and now the message is to voters. At a bad night, and the fact of the matter is that, you know, it was I actually screwed up, I made a mistake. On the Earl Ingram show on civic media in Wisconsin, the president says 90 minutes from the debate doesn't cover what he has done in office. We're going to win this election. We're going to just beat Donald Trump, like we did in 2020, we're going to beat him again. The president will need to do more to convince Democrats he is ready for another term. I am feeling panicked. Ellis Johnston in Minnesota doesn't think Joe Biden is the best candidate for the Democrats. As far as alternatives, I don't know who that person is. As source tells the AP, some Biden financial backers are holding off or canceling upcoming fundraisers. President Donahue Washington. In Brazil, sources tell AP a former president is facing another indictment. Jayar Bolsonaro is being indicted by police for alleged money laundering and criminal association. The second charge is in connection with undeclared diamonds, the far right leader received from Saudi Arabia during his time in office. I'm Jackie Quinn. Israel's sending a negotiating team to resume talks over a Gaza ceasefire, and in Northern California, progress reported on the Thompson fire near the city of Orville, 17,000 people under evacuation orders or warnings. This is AP News. Millions of Americans are traveling this July 4th holiday. Rita Foley has some numbers. People are jamming airports and crowding highways to get where they're going. The TSA says a record-breaking number of people, nearly 3 million, traveled through airports in a single day last week, and that figure is expected to be broken this week. The AAA expects more than 60 million of us will travel by car during the holiday period. Gas is $351 a gallon on average today, just about a couple of cents cheaper than last July 4th. While the traveling now, well, part of the reason is said to be money, easing inflation, though many Americans remain concerned about the economy. I'm Rita Foley. Mickey Sudo has won her 10th title in the Women's Division of Nathan's Famous Fourth of July Hot Dog Eating Contest, cramming down a record 51. Patrick Bertoletti won the Men's Division, scoffing 58. I'm Ben Thomas, AP News. Thanks for listening.
