President Biden says he is staying in the 2024 presidential race, and he's going to win, but pressure's growing from some Democrats for him to bow out after last week's shaky debate performance. Texas Congressman Lloyd Doggett, a Democrat, says President Biden should drop out of the race because the nation can't risk having Donald Trump in office. "The risk to our country is so great, and we need to have the strongest candidate possible in order to assure that the values that we hold for our democracy are not traded for an authoritarian strongman bent on revenge against his opponents." He was heard there on NBC News Now. President Biden met at the White House last night with more than 20 Democratic governors who say they are standing by Mr. Biden. Maryland Governor Westmore. "It was candid. I think that, you know, we always believed that when you love someone, you tell them the truth. And I think we came in and we were honest about the feedback that we were getting. We were honest about the concerns that we were hearing from people. And we were also honest about the fact that as the president continued to tell us and show us that he was all in, that we said that we would stand with him. Because as Governor Walt said, the president has always had our backs. We're going to have his back as well."
