Currently holds the world record of an astounding 76 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes. But Joey endorsed a rival brand." That brand is impossible foods, which makes plant-based hot dogs. Major league eatings George Shea says Chestnut will be a no-show. He'll compete against soldiers at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas in a five-minute hot dog eating contest. That's good news for last year's second-place finisher on Coney Island, Jeffrey Esper, or James Webb who finished the third. "I understand what Fourth of July means to America. To be an Aussie being a part of that is an honor. But at the same time, my competitive streak, I want to show you Americans what else Aussies have made off." Chestnut will also compete on Netflix against rival Ticiro Kobayashi in September. I'm Ed Donahue. And I'm Ben Thomas, AP News. Thanks for listening.
