This is AP News, I'm Rita Falle. Hurricane barrels been moving toward Jamaica, a powerful Category 4 storm. At least six people have died after barrels slammed islands in the Southeast Caribbean. There's a new Alzheimer's drug. The Food and Drug Administration approved a second Alzheimer's drug. It's made by Eli Lilly and is called Cassonla and is for mild or early cases of dementia caused by Alzheimer's. Cassonla is only the second drug that's been convincingly shown to delay cognitive decline in patients. Last year, a similar drug from Japanese drug maker ASI was approved. Doctors who treat Alzheimer's say approval is an important step after decades of failed experimental treatments. Patients and their families will have to weigh the benefits against the downsides, including regular IV infusions and potentially dangerous side effects like brain swelling.
