BpNews, I'm Ben Thomas. The presidential campaigns have released second quarter fundraising totals at Donahue has numbers. The Trump campaign says it raised $331 million between April and June, $111 million of that raised in June. It outraised the Biden campaign, which raised $264 million for the quarter. The numbers potentially undercut the president's attempt to calm fears within his own party after last week's debate performance, which set off calls for him to step down. The Trump campaign says the Biden campaign spent more on advertising, but did not seem to move the needle. Biden's campaign manager calls his totals a testament to the committed and growing base of supporters standing firmly behind the president, Ed Donahue, Washington. Nearly 90 million Americans, again under heat alerts, National Weather Service says a ridge of high pressures raising temps from Kansas and Missouri to the Gulf Coast. Other off the West Coast could send temperatures in Sacramento as high as 115. Meanwhile, National Hurricane Senator Director Michael Brennan says Hurricane Barrel's Corps is headed for Jamaica. So we have a hurricane warning in effect for Jamaica. We are expecting a storm surge of five to eight feet above normal tide levels on the coast of Jamaica, especially concerned in the areas around Kingston, those harbors, and on the south side of the island. Job openings rose to $8.1 million in May. And Lisa Dwyer has auto sales. Vehicle sales overall rose only 0.1% in the second quarter, despite larger discounts and slightly lower prices. Auto industry analysts predict that even lower prices could be coming and suggest that buyers consider waiting for better deals. Analysts say inventories on dealer lots are building, particularly for pickup trucks and high priced vehicles. Apps vary by demand with smaller, less expensive models and gas electric hybrids, generally being in shorter supply. I'm Lisa Dwyer. This is AP News. Haiti's been under the grip of armed criminal gangs and Donna Warder reports its children have been suffering. The UN Children's Agency UNICEF says gang violence has uprooted more than 300,000 children in Haiti, children are more than half of the nearly 580,000 people who've become homeless in the last four months. UNICEF's executive director, Catherine Russell, says that humanitarian catastrophe unfolding before our eyes is taking a devastating toll on children. The UN says gangs now control at least 80% of the capital port of Preds and the key roads leading in and out of the city. A more than 2,500 people were killed or injured across the country in the first three months of this year. The agency says many children are living in makeshift shelters and they're having to live in poor unsanitary conditions, including at their schools, is placing them at risk for disease.
