This is AP News, I'm Rita Folle. Millions of Americans will be traveling this week for the July 4th holiday, but Mother Nature isn't helping in some places. Hurricane barrels been bearing down on the Southeast Caribbean early this morning. The National Hurricane Center calls it a very dangerous storm. Director Michael Brennan. The potential for catastrophic hurricane force winds, life-threatening storm surge in the nation, also the potential for very heavy rainfall, especially in the mountainous areas of places like Barbados and St. Vincent and the Grenadines as well. And then barrels expected to remain a powerful hurricane as it moved across the Caribbean Sea. Does former President Trump have immunity for his actions related to the January 6, 2021 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol? The Supreme Court's expected to issue its ruling today, the AP's Jackie Quinn. This is the final day of the High Court's term. With an answer expected on whether Donald Trump can be charged in connection with the U.S. Capitol insurrection of 2021, criminal charges were announced against former President Donald Trump in August of '23 by Special Prosecutor Jack Smith. "Unprecedented assault on the seat of American democracy. It's described in the indictment, it was fueled by lies." But Trump's lawyers say he's immune from prosecution because he was the president at the time. Now to President Biden's performance at that debate with Donald Trump on Thursday night. We're learning that some of Mr. Biden's family members are criticizing how his staff prepared him for the debate. Families urging him to stay in the presidential race. Five men have been shot near the University of Cincinnati campus this morning. Three of them died. Two people were taken into custody, say police, including one of the wounded. If you're traveling this morning, gas is 3.49 a gallon, about five cents more than a week ago. This is AP News. Now to the weekend movies. A Quiet Place Day 1 is making noise at the box office. The prequel earned an estimated 53 million dollars in its first weekend in North American theaters. That's according to studio estimates. The same cannot be said for Kevin Costner's self-finance film Horizon in American Saga, chapter one, which only debuted at 11 million dollars. Day one also missed out on number one by a hair. That title went again to Disney and Pixar's juggernaut Inside Out 2, which made an estimated 57.4 million dollars in its third weekend in theaters. I'm Hey up, and Joining Canada's second largest airline, WestJet, has reached a deal with its mechanics to end a strike that has disrupted the travel plans of tens of thousands of passengers. WestJet expects continued flight disruptions, though, in the week ahead, as its planes are brought back into service. I'm Rita Foley, AP News.
