(upbeat music) Hello, hello, hello. How you going? How you doing? What it do? Baby, you know that bigger would be by now, right? You know that is the intro of the sound, the theme. So, of the college football function, you know the voice by now, right? It is CM, AKA cousin Mike. AKA CEO Fonk, AKA Mr. Studio Grandma. AKA Mr. Perfect, AKA Mr. AKA. How about that? But, AKA A, A, B, cousin. (laughs) AKA the host that just knows the most about that college football, you know that NCAA action. Coming at you with another banger of an episode, I hope. I know this episode may not be listened to as much as probably it should, but if you're a die-hard college football fan like me and you kind of want to know about the little brothers, you kind of want to know who might be the 12 seed in the upcoming college football playoffs. You know, coming up in December, this might be the show for you, or if you are a fan of the greater five. I mean, you say, what are the greater five? 'Cause Mike, well I'm about to tell you, it's the non-power fours. Everybody knows the power four conferences used to be power five, no PAC 12 anymore. It's the ACC, big 10, big 12, and of course, the giants of college football, the SEC, who I just did. Hopefully you guys listened to that show. It's the non-power fours. You know, there are five conferences that comprise this greater five, five conferences. Now on power four, you have the AAC, the American Athletic Conference, you have Conference USA, the Middle American Conference, I think that's what it's called, the Mac Mountain West Conference, the MWC, and the Sun Belt Conference. And you're probably saying, "See him." Nobody cares about those conferences. Well, you know what? I care about those conferences because, like I said just a little while ago, these, one of these conferences is going to send one team to the college football playoff. Are they going to be outmatched? Probably. Are they going to be outcoached? Maybe. They still deserve their shot. I do believe the AAC, the Conference USA, and Mac, MWC, sorry, and the Sun Belt, I think one out of all those conferences deserve a shot. Why not? I mean, Boise State can knock off an Oklahoma in a bowl game. It happens on any given day the underdog can win. Like I said, you know, it's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog. And I'm a big fan. I'm a big fan of college football. So therefore, I know these teams, a lot of people are going to be like, "Ah, Mike, who cares about UNLV? "Who cares about Coastal Carolina? "You never know." But I want to cover all the bases. It wouldn't be fair to the average college football fan to not know some of these schools. And even if you're a die-hard college football fan like me, you probably know these schools. You might be a Mac fan. You might be a Fresno State fan down in Mountain West Conference. I want to touch every single part of college football. I know there's over 130 schools. I can't talk about every single one of them, but I can kind of lump everybody into one little show and at least give the little guys a chance to be on the college football function and let's see and talk about you a little bit. Because like I said, I'm going to talk about some of these teams and you'll know, Cm talked about it in June, that one of the teams that Cm's going to talk about is going to be that 12 seed and the college football playoff with a chance to shock the world. Yeah, good chance that they play the third or fourth best SEC school. Maybe the second or third best big 10 school in the college football playoff. Hey, every dog has his day. Like I always say, a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while. It could happen. And I do believe one of these days it is going to happen. Who's to say it can't be this year? But let's start off. Of course, we're going to go alphabetical order, kind of like I did with the last conferences that I talked about. And talk about the AAC first American athletic conference. I do believe it's probably the team that has the better shot. I think of getting one of those teams from their conference to get that 12 seed in the college football playoff. I do believe it's going to come down to three schools to possibly win that conference. And of course, like I said, make that 12 seed. I got two lane coming out of the AAC, winning that conference. I'm definitely going to break down their schedule here in a little bit. It could be UTSA, the Road Runners. I think his name is Treyler, Fred Treyler, John Treyler, something along those lines. I'm probably butchering his name. But at least I know, hey, if you're a UTSA fan out there, hey, you know, see him, you know, he's got some respect for you. At least you're getting talked about right on the college football function. Another good team. I do believe they were putting their thing together, you know, down there in UTSA, the Road Runners. I think they could win the AAC as well. And then the team that could possibly win it as well is the Memphis Tigers, a sleeping giant. I know it's a basketball school, but it could be one of those three teams. Hell, it could be none of those three teams. I'm not as ear to the streets about these G5s, these non-power fours. That's probably I should. But hopefully you guys just learn a little bit more about some of these schools. But let's move on. Conference USA, this one's not as deep. I think this one is pretty much one team and one team only. And it's the Liberty Flames. It's gotta be the Liberty Flames team that got a New Year's Six Bowl. Not too long ago, of course they played Oregon. You know, got drove, you know, out of the park a lot. You know, it is what it is. But if Liberty pulls it out and is 11 and 1, 12 and 0, have the better record out of all the other conferences, highest, you know, standings, whatever you wanna call it, they get a shot. I think Liberty goes and gets the conference USA this year. Go to the Mac. This is where it gets a little bit harder. Not as familiar with some of these conferences. Of course, I've been paying attention to the AAC the past couple of years with the likes of Tulane and Houston that had just joined the big 12 a couple of years ago was in that conference as well. And of course, UTSA and Memphis. There was a couple of good teams now, AC. So you would watch it as well. Liberty in the conference USA, like I said, not as strong, not don't know as much about them as probably as I should, but had a really good year. Like last year, like I said, you know, of course got their butts beat by the Oregon Ducks in their bowl game. But hey, like I said, every dog has his day. But the Mac, I think it comes down to two teams. And I'm going on, of course, you know, who won the conference last year, who had the better record, you know, who was 10 and two, who was 11-1, so on and so forth. I think it's gonna come down to the Miami of Ohio Red Hawks. I'm just guessing, just ballparking off the top of my head. Or the Toledo Rockets end up winning the Mac. Definitely gonna do the Toledo Rockets here in a little while and break down their schedule. 'Cause that's who I'm going to pick wins the Mac, but it's going to be, I think, one of those two schools. But then again, you never know. There could be a five and seven school that finished in the middle of the pack last year in the Mac, you know, reels off 10 or 11 wins this year. And, you know, maybe gets that spot at that number 12. Going to the Mountain West Conference, definitely a more familiar with this conference. Quite a few good teams are in this conference. Boise State, everybody knows the Boise State Broncos, Blue Field. Definitely, if you've been a college football fan for more than 10, 15, 20 years, you know the Boise State Broncos, right? You know, they are perennial. I would say powerhouse, especially in their conference. I think that in the next four or five years, you can see a Boise State in the big 12 conference. You never know. I do believe they could step up in a weight class. You know, you never know. But Boise State Broncos, of course. The San Jose Spartans, I think they had a pretty good year last year, I'm kind of predicting them. To have a top half of the Mountain West Conference, maybe even win that conference. The UNLV running Rebels, are they the Rebels? I think they're just the Rebels, UNLV Rebels, had another team that had a good year last year. Could they build on that? Couldn't they possibly win the Mountain West? Wyoming, I learned this firsthand. Last year, Tech goes up to Wyoming, goes up to Laramie, Game 1, and we lose to a Mountain West foe. And, you know, they ended up, that was a stepping stool for them. They beat a power, you know, five team at the time at home. Didn't, you know, didn't beat the breaks office or anything. But, you know, I think they handled us pretty mightily. And, I think that really set them up to have a pretty good year. And, I do believe they finished with the eight or nine wins that year, you know, or up towards the top of the Mountain West, you know, towards October, November. We're being talked about possibly playing for that Mountain West Conference Championship. And, I do like their coach too. So, I wouldn't be surprised if Wyoming is in the talks of winning the Mountain West as well. I got to include the Air Force Falcons. Man, did they fall off the face of the earth. I remember this. I do believe they started eight and oh, nine and oh, something along those lines, at least seven and oh, something like that, you know, creeping up the standings, maybe even getting some national love. But, I do believe they got hit, they hit a lull, you know, they got injured, someone, if I'm not mistaken, some of their players got hurt, suspended help. I don't know, like I said, I don't know as much about some of these teams as I probably should. But, kind of had like a little couple of game loss, you know. I do believe they lost two or three games in a row or towards the end of the season. Kind of not to them out of possibly hosting that Mountain West Conference Championship. And, then I think it could come down to Fresno State. I think this is another team, kind of like Boise, has just kind of hung around. You think of the Mountain West Conference, I think of the Fresno State Bulldogs. Was a big Jake Hainer fan a couple of years ago out of the draft. I definitely watched him. I love the guy swagger. I love the guy's arm motion. The guy had some really good things. And, Fresno State, just kind of like one of those teams. It just kind of sticks in your head a little bit. But, out of those six teams, I would think one of those teams is going to win the Mountain West. But, then again, what do I know, right? The last conference, the Sunbelt. Of course, I'm going alphabetical, you know, A to S. The GMU Dukes. One at last year, I got a role with them this year. I do believe you have a huge year like they had last year. I mean, I don't know how many times I talked about the GMU Dukes on the College Football function last year during the season. I'd probably say a handful of times. And, if you make it to the College Football function and you're a Sunbelt representative, that means you're doing good job. You're doing what you need to do in a lesser conference. I know it sounds like I'm sliding the GMU Dukes or sliding anybody else in this conference or any of these other conferences. But, you're not going to get much limelight. I look at some of these schedules and they're weak. You may have one tough game all year and it's a non-conference game early in the season. And you're playing your weaker conference. It is what it is. But, you know, they ended up on, I think they would have had a college game day last year. And, I think, I believe they finished 10 and 2. Something like that ended up having a pretty good bowl game. I got a role with the GMU Dukes. And, you know, big ups to that dude Howard Poole. He said that school is actually up there really close to where he lives as well. So, knocking out two birds, one stone for you there by talking about the GMU Dukes. It could be Appalachian State. Everybody knows Appalachian State. If you are a fan of college football for more than 15, 20 years, you know that they went into the big house and knocked off the Michigan Wolverines. I can guarantee you, I know the Michigan Wolverines are at the top of the peak right now. You know, the reigning defending national champs, winning the college football playoff national championship last year. You can ask them, what was one of their worst losses of all time in Double J or any other Michigan fans will tell you. It could be that Michigan State game with the fake punt. And, the Spartans ran it in. Our close second would be the Appalachian State game. I can't remember what year it was, 2000, early 2000s. If I had to ballpark it, the Mountaineers went in there and beat the Michigan Wolverines in the big house. And, a lot of people, I remember it to this day. I still remember it to this day. Definitely a team that could win the Sunbelt Conference this year. Coastal Carolina, the Chanticleers, definitely another team. I don't believe that they have put together a couple of good seasons lately. I know they're more of a baseball school. But, hey, it could be Coastal Carolina, the Chanticleers. See, hey, I do know a little bit more about some things than I do. The Troy Trojans, I put them up there and I give them a long shot, though, Kamani Vidal is not going to be there. He was, you know, the nation's leading rusher last year playing for these Troy Trojans, going to miss a guy like him. But, at the same time, they can reload. You never know about Troy. I put them as a Cinderella. Maybe they could do it. And, then, the last team, Texas State, the Bobcats, big shout out to Sad Marcus. I do believe that Sad Marcus down there in Texas, they could do it too. They were another team that had a pretty decent year last year. You never know. But, like I said, I'll give you one of those five are going to win it. But, that wouldn't be fun, right? So, let's predict who wins each conference. And, then, I'm going to break down their schedules, okay? So, the AAC, I know it's between UTSA, Menfist, and Tulane. But, I got to give it to Tulane. So, Tulane wins the AAC. The conference USA is pretty easy. It's Liberty or Bust. It has to be Liberty. It's got to be Liberty. The Mac, I said it's between Miami of Ohio and Toledo. I'm going to go on an A-LIM and say the Toledo Rockets when the Mac. I've always been a fan of the Toledo Rockets. That name just kind of rolls off your tongue, right? The Toledo Rockets, see it with me, right? Just kidding. Toledo Rockets, I think, win the Mac. Mountain West Conference, I got to go with the team, with the more clout. You know, I hate to say it as much as I want to go on an A-LIM and predict the one. I'm in Cowboys or Air Force Falcons, Fresno State Bulldogs. The UNLV Rebels are the San Jose State Spartans. I got to go with the team that has been there and done that. I got to get the blue field a little bit of shots on going to Boise State, winning the Mountain West Conference. Sunbelt, like I said, it could be Texas State, the Bobcats, the Troy Trojans, Coastal Carolina Chanticleers, Appalachian State Mountaineers, but I got to go with the team with the hot hand right now, a team that, you know, you have a really good year. The year before, that is a building block to possibly build a dynasty. I know it's a long shot, but you got to start somewhere. You know, I know they had a 10-win season last year and I'm almost positive. I hope they do have another good year, so I'm predicting the JMU dukes to win the Sunbelt Conference. So, it looks like Tulane Liberty, Toledo, Boise State, or JMU end up as one of those teams is going to be the 12-seam. I don't know which one it is, but I'm just ball-parking. It's going to be one of those five. Could it be Troy? Yeah, I never know. I really don't. This is all hard. This is hard for me. Not as familiar with the greater five non-power 4s, like I said, as I probably should, but I still want to do it. I think it's only fair. It's only right. I know this episode is probably not going to, you know, get a whole lot of downloads and a whole lot of listens, but I hope there's some UNLV fans out there, some UTSA fans out there, Coastal Carolina fans, Troy, of course, JMU, Tulane, so on and so forth. I want to give you guys a shop, too, because who's to say you guys come in as the 12-seam? Get an upset. Make it to the second round. I mean, just making it, I know, would be just one of the greatest accomplishments in your school's history. I get it, but you want to go, you want to win. You know, just being there is not enough. You should have the belief that you could win. Can they? Absolutely. Well, they probably not, but just for the sake of it being, I want to cover every ground. I want to cover every conference. I got to do my due diligence. Technically, there's nine conferences that the National Championship could come from. So I want to talk about the G5 and the non-power force. So I'm going to do Tulane, Liberty, and Toledo, the AAC Champ, Conference USA Champ, and the Mac Champ. I'm going to go through their schedules, predict how many wins and losses they have. And then here in a couple of weeks, once it bounces around again, once that side of the dice comes up again, of course, it'll probably be around July, maybe mid-July when I talk about the G5. Again, I will talk about, probably Boise State and JamU predict their schedules, because those are the teams that I think are going to win their respective conferences. So I think it's only fair that we predict their schedules as well. With the Lucky Land Sluts, you can get Lucky just about anywhere. Daily Beloved. We're gathered here today. BGW grower prohibited by law, 18 plus terms and conditions apply. Let's start with T-Lane. Like I said, we're going in alphabetical order, the AAC comes first, Thursday, August 29th is their first game. They welcome in southeastern Louisiana, if you are not familiar, Tulane is in the New Orleans, the Greater New Orleans area. They're down there in Louisiana. So there's a lot of times they are playing a lot of Louisiana-based schools. That's a win though. I do believe that is a smaller team. You would probably say five, ten years ago if Rutgers played Tulane. You would pick Rutgers, but I'd pick Tulane over Rutgers tomorrow if they played. You know what I'm saying? They've had a couple of good years, and I think Tulane is probably one of the creams of this whole G5, non-power force. That's a win. Thursday, August 29th against South 3rd through Louisiana, opening game. September 7th, tough. I predicted K-State and a couple of episodes back from my Big 12. I predicted K-State goes into Tulane and loses. So Tulane gets that win, a huge win against a, I think, a powerhouse in the Big 12, a team that could absolutely win the Big 12. I have high, high admirations for K-State. I loved Bill Snyder. They've had some really great guys come out of that school. It's a very prestigious, it's a very admirable program. It's run right. They do things the right way. Got out of respect, K-State, but September 7th, going to New Orleans, K-State, that's, I don't know if they're going to be ready for that, that heat. I'm sorry, but up until probably Halloween in the south, you still get those 90s and 100 degree weathers, and New Orleans around Louisiana, around down there, where it's muggy, 95 degrees, feels like 115 degrees, because they get all that humidity and up there in Kansas City, man, or Kansas State, sorry. Manhattan, I don't know if they can handle that heat, so I really think they can't handle the heat, and they lose the Tulane, because Tulane will be up for this game, and I really truly believe that. They beat Kansas State September 7th, September 14th, they go to OU, and I predicted OU. And my last show, I'm pretty sure, where is that? Sorry, guys, I should have had that right here. OU, yeah, OU goes, I'm sorry, Tulane goes to Norman to play OU, and I predicted OU to win, so that means Tulane has to lose. Sorry, that's a step up in class, man. I know beating K-State, it could build into going to Norman, but going to Norman, that's a hard place to play. You beat K-State at your house, biggest win of the year, absolutely, but you get brought back down to Earth the next week, going to Norman. September 21st, they go to Louisiana, I do believe that's a range in Cagens, I don't know much about them, so I'm going to predict they win for Tulane right there, September 21st. September 28th, they welcome in the South Florida Bulls, yet again, I know the team I'm not real familiar with. There's a lot of these teams I am not going to be familiar with, so I've got to give the benefit of the doubt to the Tulane Green Wave that's a win right there. October 5th, take a trip to UAB, since Tulane is kind of around that little area down there, they're going to play more Alabama teams and Louisiana teams, teams located pretty close to them, so UAB is pretty close to them, so I'm going to give Tulane the win right there at UAB, the Blazers, I believe. October 12th is their bye, good time for bye, smack dev, in the middle of their season, breaks their season pretty much in half. October 19th, welcome in the Rice Owls. This isn't baseball, this isn't academics, Tulane just, I think they're just the cream of the AEC, so that is a win right there for Tulane, October 19th, against Rice. October 26th, they take a road trip down to Denton, Texas, if I'm not mistaken, to play the University of North Texas Mean Green, I hope I did that right, it could be a good team, I put a question mark next to this, I'll also put a T next to this, would not be surprised, Tulane just kind of has a brain fart, it could be against Rice, UAB, UNT, you never know, but if they win the conference and you know they want to get that 12 seed in the college football playoff, you can't have more than one loss, so that is a win right there, at Denton in North Texas, October 26th, sorry, Thursday, October 31st, this is Halloween night, they take to Charlotte, I'm not sure who the Charlotte, mascot is, I do not have it written down, I have no idea, but I put a T next to this game, strange shit happens on Halloween, man, you can get knocked off the underdogs, sometimes rural, but like I said, I don't think they lose, they go to Charlotte win Halloween night, Thursday, November 9th is their next game, they welcome in the Temple Owls, yet again another team, I don't think can hang with the likes of Tulane, they win, they beat Temple November 9th, November 26th, this is a tough game, I think, I know this team hasn't been that great lately but they're taking a trip to Buenos Aires, could be wrong, to play the Navy mid-shipmen, they are in the AAC now, I think they've been in there, I don't know, I can be wrong, I'm sure, but I put a question mark next to this one, and I put a T next to this one as well, you never know about those military academies with the Air Force, Navy, Army, you just never know what team you're going to get, but they win November 16th at Navy, the Tulane Green Wave, November 23rd is their final buy, that second buy, that is very critical, it's coming up college for both season, Thursday November 28th is their last home game, huge game, I put a star next to this because this is someone I think that could have an identical record to them at this exact time, winner of this game could possibly end up in the college football playoff, that is Memphis, but they get Memphis at home, maybe if they were going to Memphis, I'd give the Tigers, they benefit the doubt and give them a win, but I say no Tulane Green Wave, Thursday night, November 28th, beat the Memphis Tigers, finish 11 and 1, I'll put CFP, maybe, how about that, all right, that's it, I mean that's a good record, I don't know, if they don't, they lose the case date, that's two losses, that could hurt them, especially if a team like Memphis, UTSA, Liberty, Toledo, Boise State, GMU, I'll go undefeated, that could hurt the Tulane Green Wave, but their schedule is tough, welcoming in-case state, going to Norman, playing the Memphis Tigers at the end of the year, and one of these little middle games from September 28th till November 16th, they could fall right there too as well, you never know what college football man ain't think can happen, all right, let's go to the conference USA, shall we, I said it just a little while ago, I think there's only one team that really should win, the conference USA looked at all those other teams and none of them stood out to me, and the Liberty Flames were the team that got that New Year 6 game last year, I know got drove by Oregon in that bowl game, but they can do it, let's go with the Liberty Flames, the team I think is going to win the conference USA, August 31st, their first game, they welcome in Campbell, not sure who that is, they're going to win Liberty Beats, Campbell August 31st, September 7th at New Mexico State, now this was a team that I thought may give Liberty a run for their money, the Aggies at New Mexico State, I did put a star next to this and I did put a trap game because this is at New Mexico State, so could be an interesting game, September 7th, you know, maybe I know Liberty at New Mexico State, there's probably better games on that day, I get it, but it could be an interesting game, but if I want Liberty to make the college football playoff, they got to win at least 11, maybe 12 games, so September 7th they go into Aggieland of the Mexico State variety and beat them, September 7th, September 14th they welcome in UTEP, the minors, I'm not sure, you know, I know they're a Texas team, I should probably have my ear to most Texas teams in my state, but not a UTEP guy, so Liberty wins September 14th against the minors, September 21st they play Eastern Carolina, I put a question mark next to this, there was a couple of years a while back that the ECU pirates were actually pretty damn good, but as of lately, not sure, but I got to get Liberty the benefit of the doubt, they beat ECU September 21st, September 28th, here we go, I think this is another game that could possibly derail Liberty's college football playoff shot, I got to go to Appalachian State to play the mountaineers, I think I might just turn into that game, that game might end up on my weekly preview show, it just might, you know what I'm saying, with App State, containing in the Sunbell, Liberty, containing in the conference USA, this could be a bowl game that we're going to get in the middle of the year, so here's a sleeper game, mmm man, that's tough, you know what, I'm gonna do it, September 28th, they take a trip to Appalachian State and lose to the mountaineers, the Liberty Flames do, October 5th is their by Tuesday, October 8th, this is where some of these schedules are going to get weird, I know most of these conference games are going to get a random Friday, a random Thursday game, some of these conferences, they play Tuesdays and Wednesdays, so here we go, Tuesday, October 8th, after that by October 5th, they play Florida International, I do think it's the Panthers, I'm not sure, but if I you, like I said, I don't know a bunch about them, they've had two weeks to prepare for FIU after the Appalachian State lost, September 28th, that's a good win right there for Liberty, I get right game so to speak, Wednesday, October 23rd, their next game, they take a trip to Kennesaw State, no idea about that, no clue, so I gotta go with the Liberty Flames, that's a win, October 23rd at Kennesaw State, win for Liberty, Wednesday, October 30th, they welcome in Jacksonville State, I put a question mark next to this one and a star next to this one, that's another team that had a pretty year last year that may give Liberty a run for their money, so that's why I just kind of want to make it interesting, pick a random team, you know, know a little bit about Jacksonville State, but they still lose since they have to go to Liberty, the Flames win October 30th against Jacksonville State, November 9th they take a trip to Middle Tennessee State, oh is that the Blue Raiders, I could be Hilltoppers, ah, and I don't know, I'm not sure, I don't know, might be one of those, not sure, November 9th, like I said, they take a trip to play Middle Tennessee State, they think they win, I don't know much about that school either, but Liberty wins right there, November 16th they take a trip to UMass to play the Minuteman, definitely one of the running jokes in college football, UMass has been one of the worst college football programs the past ten years or so, I think they've only won a couple of games in a decade or something along those lines, not real sure I don't have it written up, but I just know one of the worst teams in college football, so they go to UMass and Liberty beats the Minuteman November 16th, November 23rd, put a star next to this game, they welcome in western Kentucky, the Hilltoppers, yet again a team that used to throw it around, I know that's where we got, my Texas State gradators, we got their offensive coordinator there to come down here to Lubbock, we all are O.C. because he led the nation in throwing the ball up there in western Kentucky, a team that can give you some bits, so, um, mmm, mmm, ah, give them the benefit of doubt, Liberty wins, November 23rd against western Kentucky, just because they're playing at home, November 30th, their last game of the season, take a trip down to Sam Houston, ooh, Bobcats, there's some sort of cat, I would guess, the feral cats, I'm just kidding, I'm not real sure, Sam Houston's, another one of those teams, I kind of been at the bottom of the barrel in the conference USA for a little while, looked at the record, I think they were three and nine last year, not real sure, but Liberty is on a stretch right there, so they win November 30th at Sam Houston, puts them at 11 and 1, I'm going to put CFP, maybe, they finished the same record as, you know, two lanes, so like I said, it's going to come down to who they beat, you know, who they lost to, you know, record, so on and so forth, when you lost them, it's going to come down to a lot of things, all right, next one alphabetically is going to beat the Mac conference, I do believe it's going to be between Miami, Ohio, I do believe it's the Red Hawks, and the Toledo Rockets, but I'm going with the Toledo Rockets, because like I said, that name just kind of rolls off your tongue, the Toledo Rockets, let's do their schedule, shall we, Thursday, August 29th is their first game of the season, they welcome in, Duquesne, I love that in the school name, I don't know why, it's got a Q in it, the Duquesne blires, Duquesne dukes, I have no idea who that team is, so I'm going to get Toledo Rockets benefit the doubt and win opening day, Thursday, August 29th, September 7th, they welcome in UMass, just talked about UMass a little while ago for the Liberty Flames, Teenik just is probably not going to be very good, safe to say, I'm sorry if you're a minimum fan, thank you for listening, that's probably going to be the last time I talk about you guys onto the college football function, September 14th at Mississippi State, right here, tough, tough environment, man, very, very tough environment, put a question mark, put a star, came Toledo show up, down there in Starkville in Calbell Land and knock off the Mississippi State Bulldogs, fuck yeah, why not, man, why not, this happens all the time, one of them non-power fives, goes to a SEC school, goes to a big 12 school and gets an upset, why not right here, here we go, bam, calling it right now, September 14th, the Toledo Rockets go into Starkville, beat the Mississippi State Bulldogs going out on a limb, September 21st is their next game, they take a road trip up to Western Kentucky to play the hilltopers, just talked about them a little while ago, they get brought back to life, brought back to earth, sorry, Toledo loses September 21st at Western Kentucky and hilltoper land, September 28th is their buy, good time for a buy, they lost the week before and it gives them two weeks to prepare for the team that I was just talking about, could potentially them be fighting for for that Mac championship and that is Miami of Ohio, but Miami of Ohio comes in to Toledo to play the Rockets and the Miami of Ohio loses to Toledo Rockets, October 5th, October 12th, the Buffalo Bulls, I do believe, not Buffalo Bulls, yeah Buffalo Bulls, they go to Buffalo, sorry, October 12th to play the Buffalo Bulls, I think they win, Toledo wins right there, October 12th, October 19th they take a trip to Northern Illinois, is that the Salucis, or is that the Huskies, I'm going to go with the Huskies, at NIU, yeah the Huskies, Northern Illinois, that's a win, I don't know much about that team to be honest, I mean I know who they are, I think, but October 19th they go to Northern Illinois, beat the Huskies I'm going to guess, October 26th they welcome in the bowling green somethings, I think they have like the Cleveland brown colors, I think their colors are like green and I don't know, I don't know, of course bowling green, or I even think green is part of the color, I think it's like orange, I don't know, but like I don't know, let's just go with Toledo, I love the Rockets right here, October 26th, I act like I know what the I'm talking about about these poor teams, I'm sorry, November 2nd they take a trip to Eastern Michigan, I don't know who that is, the Eagles, the Bobcats, Bearcats, who knows, they go to Eastern Michigan and beat whoever that is, November 2nd, Tuesday, November 12th, they welcome in Central Michigan, Central Michigan, is that like Mustang, I want to say it's like a horse, the stallions or something, anyway, Central Michigan comes into Toledo and loses to the Rockets, Tuesday, November 12th, Wednesday, November 20th, they welcome in the Ohio Bobcats, I'm guessing Toledo is up there around, yeah, middle, it's the Mac conference right, yeah, Mac, so middle America, so yeah, it's up there around Ohio, Michigan, oh okay, that makes more sense, no, hey, I'm learning two guys, I'm sorry, I just saw what the Eastern Michigan, Central Michigan and Ohio, they're all kind of close to each other, so all right, Wednesday, November 20th, sorry, here we go, Ohio Bobcats come into town, I put a star next to this because for some reason the Ohio Bobcats just kind of ring a bell for me, I don't know if they had a good year, last year or not, could be a formidable foe in the Mac this year, could be a team that could win the conference, but since I picked Toledo to win this conference, they can't lose two games, so November 20th, Wednesday, Ohio Bobcats come in to Toledo Rocket Stadium and lose, last game of the season, Tuesday, November 26th, I put a T next to this game because they only have six days between the Ohio game and this game and they have to travel to Akron to play these zips, I want to say it's the zips, so yeah, I got a trap game because that's only really gives you four days to prepare, with you know, travel day, I would assume would be Monday, so yeah, the Wednesday, November 20th game, Ohio, the week before, Thursday would be your watch film day, so Friday, Saturday, Sunday, you really would only have three days to prepare for the Akron zips at their home, I don't know if they're a good team or not, but I did put a trap game because that's a quick turnaround, you don't only have a whole lot of chance to lick your wounds, you know, get healthy, you never know, but like I said, I got to pick Toledo to win the Mac conference, so they can't lose two games, they beat the Akron zips, Tuesday, November 26th, gonna put again 11 and 1. Are you guys seeing a trend? Maybe, I mean, I mean, I don't know, who's to say Tulane goes undefeated, you know, Toledo goes undefeated, you never know, it's going to be interesting, I think if all these teams that I just did Tulane Liberty and Toledo, they go undefeated, they deserve to be in the college football playoff because that means Tulane beat K-State and Oklahoma and Norman Liberty went into Appalachian State and beat the Mountaineers and that would mean Toledo goes to Starkville, beats the Mississippi State Bulldogs, and goes up to Hills Upper Land and beats Western Kentucky. Those are pretty good wins, some of these little schools they only have, maybe one highlighted game, I know those coaches will tell you that every game is important, but it's those games against the power fives, it's those teams that are probably one of the top teams and their conferences in the greater five, you want to flex your muscle, you know what I'm saying? So I might do Boise State go 11 and 1 and jam you go 11 and 1 as well and that committee will just have to fight, you know, between one of those five teams that I think could possibly make it to the college football playoff. But like I said, I hope you guys enjoyed that, I know this episode will probably not be well received, I will come back though to the G5, the non-power force, probably in the next four or five weeks after this show, I'm going to go back to the ACC conference and talk about a couple more schools that could possibly fight, you know, the likes of Clemson and Florida State, to, you know, possibly up, up Eve, you know, those two teams that are possibly are going to fight for the ACC Championship and, you know, a spot at the college football playoff, and then I'll go back again to the big 10 and do a couple more schools in that conference and then go back around, big 12, then the SEC again and then I'll come back to the G5 and by then that will be probably the end of July, maybe mid-July, not too sure, and then it'll be, I'll talk to a little bit of Heisman, you know, I'll have a show maybe talking about some coaches that are on the hot seat, coaches that could get fired, you know, maybe predicting, you know, a power three conference, there is talks, you know, there has been a lot of he-hollying about the ACC conference, possibly crumbling. A lot of people won't remember but a couple of years ago there was grumblings in the Pac-12 about how they were not getting enough money, they weren't getting enough TV deals, TV rights, you know, some of these teams were not happy and look now, the Pac-12 conference is no more, besides, you know, Oregon State and Washington State and everybody's moving on to Greenville Pastures, so I'm just saying if there's a conference that's going to fall apart next, it's going to be the ACC conference now. Where is everybody going to go? I do predict I think the big boys go to the big boy conference, I would not be surprised if Clemson and Florida State, you know, try to join the SEC, maybe one goes to the big ten, maybe one goes to the Southeastern conference, you know, the big bad SEC, you never know, but with all the other schools in the ACC, you know, your Miami's and your Louisville's and some of those other schools, North Carolina's, NC States and stuff, where are they going to go? You know, you're in the athletic coastal conference, do you really need to be in the big 12? You know, I mean, it is what it is, but it could be interesting, like I said, I might talk about that in a future show, like I said, I'm going to do my Heisman show, like I did, you know, a week or two before the season starts, start throwing names at you guys, guys that could possibly hoist, you know, that 20 something pound bronze trophy, you know, come into November, early December, can't really remember when the Heisman Trophy ceremony is, and then I'm gonna give you some, you know, some Cinderella's, some guys to keep an eye out for that, you know, could come from a Tulane, you know, could come from a lesser school, and if they have a really good year and that quarterback leads into, you know, the Promised Land, you know, maybe an 11 win season, you know, why not, when the Heisman, but I know there's going to be a quarterback, I know, it is kind of turned into a quarterback trophy, as of late, I kind of hate it. I think, I don't know, can, off the top of my head, I think it might have been Devontae Smith, yeah, the wide receiver from Alabama was, I think, the last non quarterback to win it, and then before that, it might have been Derrick Henry, I don't, I don't know if he even won, he's been, I don't know, sorry guys, I'm running out of gas, hey, this one's actually coming in a little shorter than normal, looking at 46 minutes, but like I said, I wanted to do this at greater five, you know, the non-power four is shed a little light on the AAC, you know, the Conference USA, the Mac, the Mountain West Conference, and the Sunbelt Conference, because like I said, one of those conferences will be represented in the college football playoff, and you'll hear it here first, you know, when that college football playoff show comes out, you know, after the conference championships, and they say the Toledo Rockets get the 12C, you'll say, hey, man, C.M. predicted that back in June, and, you know, or, you know, Fresno State, you know, UTSA, you never know, but at least you'll know who they are, I'm probably, like I said, I'm not talking about all of them, but I'm just predicting the teams that I think, one out of the five, predicted five teams that could end up in the college football playoff, but like I said, I hope you guys enjoyed it, I will swing back to the greater five non-power four in about a month or so after I talk more about those other conferences, because they're the ones that get on TV, they're the ones that game day goes to big noon cook, cook off, kick off, and just come on TV, I know it's sad that these little conferences don't get as much love as they should, but I guarantee you, I'm going to watch that Tulane K-State game, September 7th, that Tulane at Norman, September 14th game, you best believe when we'll be paying attention to those games and some of these other games when I go down through their schedule, see if there's a really big non-conference game that they could potentially shock the world on. Gotta get love to the greater five non-power fours, man, because like I said, I'm college football guy, you know, I am the host that knows the most, Mr. NCAA, however you want to call me, thank you guys for listening, get the Patreon app, I know this episode's coming in a little shorter than normal, but it's not intentional, I didn't mean to make the show a little shorter than what it should, but I just still wanted to shed light on some of these lower guys, so you guys know, like I said, there's probably some guys out there that, you know, are little school fans, I know my boy Howard Poole is a Penn State fan, but he pulls for JMU too, you know, there's nothing wrong with that, you know, I'm a Texas Tech Red Raider to IDIE, but you know, we think if Tech ain't playing, and Ohio State's playing Michigan, you best believe I'm pulling for Michigan, I mean, ooh, damn, I almost screwed that up, didn't I? I shouldn't even say that name, but of course, I'm pulling for Ohio State, sorry, running out of gas, but you guys take care, get the Patreon app, you know, pay that dollar a month, guys, that's all we can ever ask for, get these shows with no ads, no interruptions, you know, get cousin Mike, unedited, unfiltered, no ads, just like God intended, right? I mean, spread the love, that's all I can ever ask for, guys, just keep listening and promote, we can only do so much, you know, we have social media, we have all these podcasting platforms that you can listen to, but we need word of mouth, you know, it helps us, it gives us rejuvenated when we find out that there's new countries listening to us, when Mike reaches out and says this one guy is a big fan of yours, and he'd like to talk to you, like your number, this and this, so on and so forth, that gives us gas, you know, that gives us gas in our tank, because sometimes doing this shows hard, finding the time, finding the time to do the homework, finding the time to record, sending it out, and then Mike, of course, you know, doing most of the work and publishing in it, putting it out, you know, whenever he needs to, it's a grind, and sometimes you don't want to do it, I'm not going to lie and tell you guys that I'm always excited to record and always excited to, you know, do homework, and that's a lot, but knowing you guys are promoting and knowing you guys are putting it out there and our hard work is not going to waste helps me, it gives me gas, it gives me that go-go juice to put out quality stuff because I feel like I do, and like I said, a lot of people will think, you know, CM does see shows because he likes to hear himself talk, I don't even like to listen to my own shows, like I've said before in some of my last shows, I think it's weird to listen to yourself, it's like watching your own porn, that's not my style, man, you know, like it's kind of cringy to be perfectly honest with you because I think my voice is fucking annoying, but if you like it and you enjoy it and you think, hey man, that dude CM, he knows his shit, or he don't know his shit, either way, baby, I appreciate you guys for listening, man, I really, really do, so big shout outs, all the countries out there, I shouted you guys out last episode, so I will definitely shout you guys out, the next time I want to talk about the ACC conference, all the platforms guys, you know, follow us, I mean we're on Spotify, a heart radio, Apple, Amazon, Pi Chaser, what I'm trying to think of, some of the other things, I'm sorry, but promoters, like I said, that's how we get picked up in more places, that's how we'll, you know, some of these other channels pick us up is because of promotion, man, downloads and promotion, man, that's all we can ever ask for, you know, follow us on our social medias, football function 2.0 on Instagram, and of course on Facebook as well, you can holler at cm on Twitter, akax @MichaelH546954 is one of my whole numbers, 69 is one of my favorite numbers, Michael has spelled exactly how it should be, just like the goat, Michael Jordan, you guys take care, I will talk to you guys very, very soon, I'm going on a mini vacation very, very soon, so I'm knocking out these episodes and sending them kind of in a cluster right now to Mr. Mike Ritter, and he's gonna, you know, drop him accordingly, like I said, yeah, it could be six days apart, it could be 90s apart, it could be two weeks apart, you know, it is what it is, he puts him out at his own discretion, of course, depending on two scoops of hoops and out season outlook, teams of destiny, you got the Grim Reaper with the rivalry shows, you know, he puts it in wherever he feels like, as long as he has stuff that put out is all that Mike really cares about, some big ups to that guy and big ups to Terry and everybody else out there, Doug J. Goose, Howard Poole, all the other guys out there, all the guys that, oh I know, listen all the time, KG, Kevin Watson, Big John, Detroit Kyle, DJ Falcon, Cool's Mole, I don't know if I shouted you out on my last show or not, big dog, but I appreciate you as well, big fan of his as well, I follow him on Twitter, big time wrestling fan, man, and I love DJ fucking Coos, my man, I know people say, who's DJ fucking Coos, look him up on Twitter, man, do's a big wrestling fan, he's been on the football function many, many, many, many times, and he just has one of those personalities, the voices, the aura about him that you just kind of want to listen to him talk, you know what I'm saying, I kind of hope I have, you know, that, that makes you want to come back, you see that a show drops and you want to listen to cousin Mike, and if you do, I appreciate you and I love you to death, but DJ Coos, Mole definitely has one of those kind of auras about him as well, as always, same way with Detroit Kyle, I've talked about this before, I loved that guy, I think he's only been on one show, but I remember it, you know what I'm saying, and I'm not discrediting anybody else that's been a guest host or anything like that, because there is a lot of you guys that have been, you know, a critical part of the football function, whether it be my show, big up to Cam Melendez, you know, for stepping up for me when I had some personal problems in my life, back during the college football season, big up to him, I hope he still listens, big-time bangles fan, big up to you Cam, appreciate you again, I know I haven't probably thanked you enough, and I'm doing it now, so you take care of yourself, buddy, and everybody else out there, there's just too many people to blame, just like I said, I'm the more I name people, the more that this podcast is doing what it needs to do, and it needs to branch out, it needs to grow up, and it needs to grow out, and we can't do it by ourselves. Like I said, I wear my shirt out and about, I promote on these shows, I do what I can, but we need you guys's help, we need the word of mouth, put us out on, you know, all these social medias, like I said, on Instagram and Facebook, we're doing our damnedest, but it makes us be better when we know that we're putting that quality stuff, and we know that you guys are promoting it as well, so thank you guys so much, yeah, Go Maps, hope we're still in it, hope it's not over, by the time the show drops, yeah, you guys take care, like I said, I'm not going to keep Josh Ecken, I'll make you guys along, it's good night, I will talk to you guys very, very soon, you know, we'll be talking back, I will go bounce back over to the ACC conference, talk a little bit more about some of those teams over there, I will talk to you guys very, very soon, know who you serve, know where you're going, know what to do when you get there, all right, because of my gloves, you're too dead, take care, God bless, record.
