ICYMI: The Manhunt For Mass Shooter Robert Card

As the manhunt for Robert Card enters it's second day, the police have still not revealed any information on a possible motive. According to them, they are still collecting all the facts and the data, but from what they have collected, they can say that they do not believe that this was an act of domestic terrorism and in fact, that it was motivated by something else.

18 people were killed in the attack and many more injured.

A gigantic manhunt has been launched in Maine for the suspect, and the police raided his last known residence overnight in a dramatic scene that ended with police serving a warrant on the home and removing several items, after a tense entry.

And the investigators are still searching for the man, Robert Card, who they say is responsible for carrying out the massacre. This is a man who has experience as a reservist, a man who knows how to live in the wilderness according to friends, and a man who is now wanted for at least 18 counts of murder. Yesterday, when we were talking about this, I said the most likely outcome is this guy ends up killing himself. And I certainly still have that opinion. I think that this guy understands that there's nowhere to go for him, nothing left for him to do. And if he has the mental issues that they're telling us he had, well, what do you think the likeliest outcome is here? And just recently, we saw with the judge down in Maryland who was murdered, the man who was responsible for that, allegedly, well, he killed himself too. Same goes for Brian Laundry, and the list goes on and on and on and on. So while I understand this gigantic man hunt, obviously you don't know what's going on with this guy, is he alive, is he dead? My speculation is when all said and done, we're gonna find out that he took his own life. But until we get to that point, why don't we get updated on where things are right now at the time of this recording, which is 4.45 a.m. Pacific Standard Time. And to do that, we have an article from ABC News. Headline, main shooting live updates. Massive man hunt continues for suspect, as new details emerge. This article was authored by Emily Shapiro, Aaron Koturski, Josh Margolin, and Ivan Padada. At least 18 people were killed in a mass shooting in Lewiston, Maine on Wednesday evening. Maine governor Janet Mills said, 13 others are injured. The suspect Robert Card is still at large. The shooting unfolded in two locations, a bowling alley where a children's league was taking place and a local bar official said. So you go and shoot up a place where there's a bunch of kids bowling, huh? I really hope that this guy has an unfortunate accident when the police catch him, if he hasn't already ended his own life. Because only a scumbag of the highest magnitude would walk into a bowling alley, see a bunch of kids and open fire. Like you're already a piece of shit killing anybody, right? But what sort of evil must lurk in you to look at a bunch of children and say to yourself, oh, well, these look like a bunch of hot targets. Why don't we kill them? Like for real, for real? And when we talk about volcanoes and we talk about helicopter rides, these are the people that I'm talking about. A son of a bitch like this caught on video going on a mass rampage. Yeah, buddy, buckle up, first class trip. So what are the latest headlines? What we know about suspect Robert Card. A manhunt is now into its second day for Robert Card, the suspect in a mass shooting in Maine that killed at least 18 people and wounded 13 others, officials have said. The suspected gunman identified as 40 year old Robert Card is a US Army reservist, the army confirmed. So basically what you're telling us is, this dude was the real life version of Gormerpile from Full Metal Jacket. Is that what you're telling us? Chad's family is cooperating with authorities, law enforcement officials, briefed on the investigation, told ABC News, card sister told investigators she thought Card might have been looking for an ex-girlfriend at the shooting locations, the sources said. One avenue of investigation is whether this mass shooting began as a domestic dispute according to the sources. Like, how does the domestic dispute turn into something like this? Now, obviously I know it does, but I'm just asking rhetorically, right? Like, what the hell is wrong with people and when are we going to address the obvious mental health issue in this country? All of that dovetails into the addiction problems as well. All of this dovetails together. And if we don't have the resources to deal with this stuff, we're going to continue to have these crazy M-effers in our society that are capable of doing shit like this. Card was previously married, his ex-wife filed for the divorce, citing irreconcilable differences, which was granted in 2007, with shared custody of the couple's minor child. Court documents show, the divorce order was amended in 2013 to include shared parental rights and responsibilities of the child, whose primary residence was with his mother, the document show, the suspect appears to have interacted with conspiratorial content online, information provided to law enforcement shows. Topics he engaged with included but were not limited to, concerns about a financial crisis, stock market, LGBTQ issues, gun rights, and commentary about democratic public officials, including President Joe Biden, the information shows. Of course, this guy was getting all hyped up on rage porn, you know, the whole us-versed them bullshit that the media engages in on a regular basis. And unfortunately, this is the end result. When all you do is pump out all kinds of hateful rhetoric on a regular basis, there's going to be crazy people out there that consume it, and they're going to get some crazy ass ideas. And while ultimately the responsibility is on the person who perpetrated the crime, there's no doubt that all of the divisive rhetoric is leading to a lot more violence in the country. And they love it, right? It drives clicks, it drives traffic, and that's all they care about. Remember all of these media outlets? They're all driven by profit. They're not out here being altruistic, right? They're out here making money. And I don't fault them for that, but at the same time, we have to understand there's nowhere near as much money to be made when there's cohesiveness. So they'll continue to get the pitch forks and the torches riled up because they know that's in their best interest. - It cocks mobile. - Court has been a US Army reservist since December of 2002, the Army said. His current rank is as a sergeant first class and his job is a petroleum supply specialist. He has no combat deployments. So it's not like PTSD related to combat caused him to do something like this. Obviously we know that he has mental issues already, but it's not PTSD due to being deployed in a combat situation. Card had affiliations at both targeted locations according to sources. Law enforcement sources with direct knowledge tell ABC News that Robert Card had affiliations with the two locations he allegedly targeted. NX girlfriend is connected to one of the locations according to a source. We don't think this was completely random. The suspect also appears to have been fairly thoughtful about alluding police. He left behind a cell phone that authorities have recovered. Apparently suspecting it could be tracked. So is he just trying to pull the old Okey Doke on law enforcement or does he truly intend on trying to slip away? As I said earlier, I believe that if he hasn't killed himself, he's going to do it eventually. The only question is, does he take anybody else out before he gets to that point? Search at home tied to suspect winds down. A large number of police vehicles that had surrounded a property tied to suspect Robert Card on Thursday have departed. The search at this location seems to have gone quiet with most of the authorities having left the scene. And it was a pretty surreal situation there last night. A whole bunch of police vehicles and police officers descended on this home and they were calling for a Robert Card to come out. And there was some thought that he might have been in that home, that residence. Well, turns out he wasn't there. And chances are he's not going to be in a place like somebody's home. My guess is if this guy's still alive, he's on the move. He's not going to be sitting around waiting and praying that they just decide to pass by whatever a hidey hole he decided to crawl into. When someone like this is on the run, usually they keep moving. Now, maybe he finds some kind of cabin in the wilderness, something like that, where he's afforded some time to rest. But for the most part, somebody who is wanted for what he's wanted for, and with the resources that are being poured into this manhunt, it's not going to be long before they find them in my opinion. A source familiar with the search in Bowdoin tells ABC News there is no expectation the suspect will be apprehended at that location tonight. The source said this search and the dramatic accompaniments were a part of standard procedure for safely carrying out a search warrant. Police will be doing this repeatedly as they work to retrieve evidence. They say they're being thorough by tracking down every lead. Well, that's what you have to do. You have somebody on the run for this kind of BS. You better be on your game. You better be on point. And you're gonna have some questions to answer when all is said and done about time that it took to respond, you know, all of that. So every day that this dude's on the loose, it becomes worse and worse for law enforcement. - We all have somewhere we're trying to get to. King supers, fresh for everyone, fuel restrictions apply. - Suspect left suicide note in his home, according to sources. A note that was found inside Suspect Robert Card's home earlier in the afternoon is being described as a suicide note addressed to the suspect's son, law enforcement sources with knowledge of the investigation told ABC News. The sources said the note does not provide information that indicates a motive for the mass shooting. And I think that this is exactly what we're going to see when all is said and done. I think this guy's gonna kill himself. He's not gonna come in alive, right? He's not gonna face the music for what he's done. And while this suicide note is not definitive proof that he killed himself or he's going to kill himself, I would think that the likelihood of that happening has to be very, very high. But until the police can find him or his body, they're gonna have to keep going hard in the pain here to try and bring this dude to justice. The suspect has no links to domestic terrorism according to sources. Investigators do not believe suspect Robert Card's motives behind the mass shooting are linked to domestic terrorism. Law enforcement sources briefed on the investigation told ABC News. Main authorities are telling their law enforcement partners there is no known connection to domestic terrorism or homegrown violent extremism, preliminary ruling out a possible motive as investigators continue to develop a fuller picture of the suspect according to the sources. Look, this guy has obvious mental health issues. Why are people trying to make it more than what it is? This man snapped. Whatever his mental demons were, they got the best of them and he went on a rampage. And until we start dealing with the mental health crisis in this country, this is gonna keep happening. And as far as this being terrorism, perhaps, you have to check into that aspect of this to see if maybe there was some motivation as far as what's going on internationally. Obviously, they went down that road, they checked, and they don't see any signs that that is what this is. According to these sources, this is a man who had connections to both of these spots. And when all is said and done, I think we're gonna find out a lot more about what truly motivated this man to do what he did. But as of now, that's still a question mark. And this man's location, that's a question mark as well. So the manhunt is on and the clock is ticking for Robert Card.
