ICYMI: Is Cassie Ventura Providing Information To The Feds?

In the United States, federal investigators may use testimony from accusers in civil matters to pursue criminal charges if a crime has been committed. Here's how this process generally works:

  1. Separation of Civil and Criminal Proceedings: Civil and criminal matters are typically handled separately in the legal system. Civil cases involve disputes between individuals or entities seeking monetary damages or specific performance, while criminal cases involve the prosecution of individuals by the government for violating laws.
  2. Accuser Testimony in Civil Cases: In civil cases, individuals (the accusers) may testify under oath about their experiences, allegations, or claims against the defendant. This testimony is presented before a judge or jury, and the standard of proof is typically lower than in criminal cases. In civil cases, the standard of proof is usually based on a preponderance of the evidence, meaning the evidence supports the accuser's claims more than it supports the defendant's position.
  3. Federal Investigation: If the accuser's testimony in a civil case suggests that a crime may have been committed, federal investigators, such as those from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) or other relevant agencies, may launch a criminal investigation. They will gather additional evidence, interview witnesses, and assess the credibility of the accuser's testimony in the context of potential criminal charges.
  4. Criminal Charges: If the investigation uncovers sufficient evidence to support criminal charges, prosecutors may bring charges against the accused individual or entity. The decision to pursue criminal charges is typically based on the sufficiency of evidence, the applicable laws, and prosecutorial discretion.
  5. Use of Accuser Testimony: Accuser testimony from the civil case may be used as evidence in the criminal trial, subject to rules of evidence and the defendant's rights to confront witnesses. The credibility of the accuser and the reliability of their testimony will likely be scrutinized during the criminal proceedings.
  6. Criminal Trial: The defendant in the criminal case will have the opportunity to present a defense, including challenging the accuser's testimony, presenting alibi evidence, or disputing the prosecution's evidence. The prosecution must prove the defendant's guilt beyond a reasonable doubt, which is a higher standard of proof than in civil cases.
  7. Potential Outcomes: If the defendant is found guilty in the criminal trial, they may face penalties such as imprisonment, fines, probation, or other consequences depending on the nature of the crime and applicable laws. If found not guilty, they will be acquitted of the charges.

So, what, if any sort of information are the accusers providing to the Feds?

Let's dive in and see if we can find some clarity in all of this muck.

On today's episode, we're gonna continue talking about the situation that Diddy has found himself in and why Cassie Ventura and the allegations that she made against Diddy in that lawsuit could loom large. And we've seen this many, many times when it comes to somebody that's being accused of this sort of behavior. They get caught up in a civil suit and that civil suit ends up snowballing into criminal charges. And that's certainly some jeopardy that Diddy is finding himself navigating right now. Because whenever you have these kinds of allegations and then you have them from multiple sources, people are definitely paying attention. And there's going to be, like we've talked about many times now, more people coming out of the woodwork claiming that they were abused also. But as of right now, the allegations by Cassie seem to be the strongest. You add those with what we've heard from the underage girl. And if those allegations are true, let's remember, these are just allegations right now, but if the allegations are true, it's going to really set things in motion. And if Cassie is going to provide testimony against Diddy, then he can't rely on an NDA or any kind of lawsuit to protect him because that goes out the window once the feds get involved and they start throwing around subpoenas. So that's where Diddy finds himself right now and more than likely Cassie is providing the feds with information. So let's dive into this article from Fox News and let's see what they have for us. Headline, Sean Diddy Combs ex Cassie, likely an important witness in the Homeland Security trafficking probe. This article was authored by Lauren Overholts. Sean Diddy Combs ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura could be an important witness in the Homeland Security investigation against the rapper. After Combs homes were raided on March 25th in connection to a federal human trafficking investigation, report surfaced that Ventura has since been interviewed by Homeland Security. The musician likely was in contact with Homeland Security investigations before the raids even occurred, TMZ reported. Fox News Digital has reached out the Homeland Security and representatives from Ventura. And there is zero doubt that all of this was in motion. I think the only question now is, how many people are cooperating with this investigation? Is it just Cassie? Is it other people? And how much information do the feds have about what allegedly went down? Because when we get to a point where they're raiding a house, usually that means they have a whole lot. So could this be them jumping the gun and not having as much as they should? It's possible. We're talking about the federal government here. It's not like they never screw up. But if I had to make a wager, I would wager that there's a lot going on here behind the scenes and there's a lot of smoke. Is that gonna lead to a four alarm fire? We'll have to see. But there's certainly enough here for a robust investigation. What the long way to go singer told Homeland Security would likely mirror her claims, brought in since withdrawn civil lawsuit against Combs in November, Priya Sapari, partner at Greenberg Lusker, and a member of the firm's litigation group told Fox News Digital. And it's the same pattern that we saw with Jeffrey Epstein and Glenn Maxwell. Whenever you have one of these dibblers or alleged dibblers who are up to no good, and they end up giving a deposition, chances are they're gonna end up sinking themselves. Now in this case, there hasn't been a deposition given by Diddy, but he entered into that settlement. And while that's not an admission of guilt, it's pretty damn close in my opinion. Ventura referred to herself as a victim of sex trafficking in her initial lawsuit, obtained by Fox News Digital, citing the New York services for victims of human trafficking law and the California Trafficking Victims Protection Act. And if the allegations are true, there's no doubt that this was a trafficking operation. Maybe not to the level of what we saw with Epstein, but all of the elements are present for this being a trafficking operation. Now, with that said, I still need to see a lot more evidence before I take that leap and say that's exactly what's going on here. Because as of now, there's a lot of heavy allegations being fired around. And we're starting to see some responses from Universal Music Group, from Ethiopia Haptomerium, from Lucy and Grange, and what they have to say in their response letters, just throws everything little rod has to say, right onto its head. So it really comes down to who's telling the truth and who's not. And if you're out here making up stories about, say, Lucy and Grange, or about Ethiopia Haptomerium, then the rest of your story is gonna be looked at sideways, right? So we're still at the very initial stages here, and there's a long way to go. Shortly after becoming romantically involved with the rapper, the "Me and you" singer said combs had her engage in sex with male sex workers while he watched. Combs allegedly referred to these arrangements as "freakoffs," according to court documents. And if they were flying people in, and they were being trafficked, these people who were being flown in, which we haven't really seen any evidence of that yet, except for the 17-year-old girl, and that's an allegation. But that certainly gets you in the stratosphere of the Man Act. And the Man Act basically is an act that made it a felony to engage in interstate or foreign commerce, transport of any women or a girl for the purpose of prostitution or debauchery. So if he gets caught up in that, well, we're looking at, you know, a serious situation. We're talking about another predicate for Rico and something that can really tell spin into big trouble for Diddy. Sometimes Mr. Combs would pay to fly male sex workers to his location, including to multiple cities in the United States, as well as abroad, the document state. He required Miss Ventura and his staff to help him make these arrangements. Sounds like Lane Maxwell and company, huh? Ventura alleged that Combs' security and staff knew of the abuse that she faced. Attorney Spencer T. Coovin of the law firm Goldlaw told Fox News Digital there's no way to know what Cassie is saying to the feds. But suffice to say that if she is cooperating with the feds, it cannot be good for Diddy. And you'll remember, obviously, Spencer Coovin has several different clients who are Epstein survivors. So this is a man who knows what he's talking about when we're talking about human trafficking. Ventura could potentially be an important witness in Homeland Security's investigation against Combs. If the government were building a criminal case based upon similar allegations to those made by Miss Ventura, then she could potentially be an important witness for the government. Safari told Fox News Digital, her lawsuit referenced specific locations, witnesses, and video evidence of alleged sex trafficking claims. The point of any investigation is to dig into these events as told by the alleged victims to see if commonalities occur and if those events may be corroborated by others. And that's where we're at right now. This is just the investigatory stage, right? They're just trying to put the pieces together, build that foundation. But what they're digging up behind the scenes, if I had to guess, is a whole treasure trove of information about Puffy and Puffy's behavior. Now, will that lead to a conviction? That remains to be seen, but there is no doubt that they're digging deep into his whole life right now. In such a case, we can expect that the government would want to speak with the alleged third party witnesses noted in Miss Ventura's lawsuit, which seemingly included members of Mr. Combs in her circle, she added. Also, in such circumstances, the government would be interested in speaking with those who purportedly travel with Mr. Combs or who handle security. Personal calendaring details and events for them, we can also expect that attempts will be made to speak with frequent visitors to Mr. Combs properties and any other purported proteges of Mr. Combs who may have been similarly situated to Miss Ventura. And I wouldn't be shocked to hear from pilots as well. If Puffy was using the same pilots on the private jets, then chances are they were keeping logs. And if they were keeping logs, the government's going to want to see those. A lawyer for the rapper denied Ventura's claims at the time that the lawsuit was filed. Mr. Combs denies these offensive and outrageous allegations. For the past six months, Mr. Combs has been subjected to Miss Ventura's persistent demand of $30 million. Under the threat of writing a damaging book about their relationship, which was unequivocally rejected as blatant blackmail, Ben Brofmann said in his statement obtained by Fox News Digital, well, if it was blackmail when it was coming out in a book, then why did you pay the settlement? You should have just paid her previously and had her not write the book and been done with it. If you were just going to pay it out anyway, what's the point? - We're the Lucky Land slugs. Aiming to tarnish Mr. Com's reputation and seeking a payday. I'll never understand people like Diddy who don't defend their name. You got more money than anybody could ever imagine and you're out here talking about, oh, I didn't do it, it wasn't me, but let me give you this big ass bag in this settlement because prosecutors and the government aren't paying attention to that, right? Right? - If Ventura is cooperating with Homeland Security, it's not surprising, former federal prosecutor, Niamo Rachmani told Fox News Digital, "When I was a federal prosecutor, "my best source of information was Xs, "X husbands, X wives, X boyfriends and X girlfriends." He said, "They know where the bodies are buried "and it was Ventura's bombshell lawsuit in November "that encouraged other victims to come forward." Com's has also been sued by music producer Rodney Jones, as well as by three other women. Lisa Gardner, Joy Dickerson-Neil and Jane Doe. Each accuser is also likely talking to Homeland Security, according to Rachmani. Their statements are probably the probable cause for the search warrants, he said. While it's unclear what Ventura has told authorities, details from the since withdrawn civil lawsuit, line up with items reportedly seized from Com's homes. Ventura said Com's filmed the freak-offs on his phone, laptop and tablet. During the freak-offs, in addition to directing Miss Ventura and masturbating, Mr. Com's would use his phone, laptop and tablet to film Miss Ventura having sex with the hired worker. The court documents state, he treated the forced encounter as a personal art project, adjusting the candles he used for lighting to frame the videos he took. While Miss Ventura quickly deleted any photographs of videos or sex acts, if they were taken on her phone, Mr. Com's repeatedly made clear that he retained many videos of Miss Ventura during freak-offs. Even when she deleted the videos, Mr. Com's would tell Miss Ventura that he was able to recover deleted videos from her devices. While you know it's so funny about that, the federal government can do the same to him. On one occasion, he sat next to her on a flight and made her watch a video she thought that she had deleted, reinforcing her inability to escape and the immense power that he held over her. During the Homeland Security raids, Com's phones were seized, sources told NBC News. Authorities also allegedly took possession of firearms from Com's homes, the outlet reported. Ventura's lawsuit mentioned firearms as she accused Com's of intimidation on at least two occasions, Mr. Com's, demanded that Miss Ventura hold Mr. Com's gun in her purse, the court documents read, Miss Ventura was not familiar with guns and was petrified that the firearm would accidentally go off in her purse. There was no clear reason why Mr. Com's required her to hold his guns, except to reinforce to his young girlfriend that he was violent, powerful, and dangerous. Less than 24 hours after filing her lawsuit against Com's, alleging she was the victim of sexual abuse for over a decade, Ventura withdrew her claims. I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control. Ventura said in the statement at the time, "I want to thank my family, fans, and lawyers "for their unwavering support." Ventura's decision to file a civil lawsuit and then withdraw it is an ideal for a criminal investigation, Rock Monte told Fox News Digital. "Because that allows the defense to argue "that it's a shakedown and the allegations were fabricated "to make money," he explained. "But when multiple victims are saying the same thing, "that's difficult for a defendant to overcome, "and that's where I'm at, right? "If it was just one person, I'd be much more inclined "to, you know, and this might be a cash grab, "there might be something else going on, "animest between the two, whatever. "But there's so many people coming forward "with the same story that I've learned over the years "that that's when you really gotta pay attention." Oftentimes, even when victims settle civil litigation, they leave open the requirement that they be permitted to talk with any investigative agencies, whether it's a local police or federal investigative agency, Coovin said, and that's for sure, and that's important, and that's certainly what happened here with Cassie. And I think the only question at this point, when it comes to Cassie and the other alleged victims, is what they're telling the feds and how much evidence they have to back it up. Either way, this brawl has just started and you can expect Puffy and his lawyers and the lawyers for UMG to continue to be aggressive. And on the flip side of that, you damn well better believe that the federal government is going to keep digging. All right, folks, that's gonna do it for this one.
