What's up everyone and welcome back to the program in this episode we're going to dive into the Rachel Morrin story and get an update on what's going on in the investigation into the person who murdered her and we have heard from this sheriff before down here in Maryland that he thinks that this perpetrator could be a serial killer and honestly I don't think he's too far off the mark if you're able to do what this guy did then chances are you're a sick degenerate bastard. that's capable of doing it again and we already know that he has assaulted a young girl in Los Angeles previously so this is somebody that's obviously very very dangerous and honestly I'm shocked that they haven't apprehended this dude yet because usually when people get away with murders like this it's because of a lack of resources but there has been an ample amount of resources thrown at this case since the very beginning so the fact that this guy has been able to evade capture for so long leads me to believe that somebody out there is helping them and if that's the case the person who is out there helping them or persons if that's the case they need to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law as well you can't be out here helping people like this and then not expect to get punished not expect to have some kind of you know criminal penalty coming your way but it seems like every time there's a situation like this where somebody gets murdered and then somebody goes on the run well that person ends up being helped by some idiot some degenerate who thinks it's a good idea to help out their killer buddy now we don't know if that's the case here but it seems like a very likely scenario considering that this idiot's been able to evade capture for this long chances are there's somebody out there that's helping him today's article is from Fox News and the headline Maryland Sheriff's Gut says Rachel Moran was stalked by the suspect before her murder this article was authored by Audrey Conklin Harford County Sheriff Jeff Gayler on Monday said his gut tells him the suspect in the Rachel Moran's August murder stalked the mother of five before brutally killing her so we weren't sure one way or the other if it was a chance encounter if Rachel was just a target of opportunity or if this dirtbag had been following her and stalking her for some time period previous to this so according to the sheriff he says that his gut tells him that she was being stalked by this guy Moran 37 was running along the Mon Paw Trail a pedestrian trail in Bel Air a quiet and typically safe town about 28 miles northeast of Baltimore August 5th 2023 when she vanished authorities found her body the next day in what Gayler previously described as a horrific criminal homicide and we heard from the guy that stumbled upon her body and he was talking about how just brutal the crime scene was so you know you're dealing with somebody that has no care in the world when it comes to other people's lives somebody who has no problem killing people assaulting people and hurting people and the scariest part is nobody knows where this guy is was he from Los Angeles originally did he come from a different country is he from Idaho originally nobody knows so he could be anywhere I've been doing police work for 40 years my gut tells me that she was stalked but until we catch this person it could have just been a crime of opportunity Gayler said in a monday episode of his podcast into the sheriff's spotlight he could have laid and weighed on that trail for Rachel or whichever female decided to come down that trail when there was no other people in sight so this guy could have just been laying in wait for a target of opportunity as well and that's very possible especially considering the circumstances I don't think we've heard anything about Rachel you know knowing this guy right previously seems like it's just a random encounter at least on Rachel's end now if this guy was stalking her previously then that's a whole different conversation but very possible that this is just a target of opportunity for this sixth son of a bitch Captain Andy Lane who appeared as a guest in the episode said the Mon Pa trail is well used during the time of day when more in typically one honor runs now I'm somebody that spends a lot of time hiking and the trails that I go to are desolate as hell so I could completely see how something like this could happen thankfully it's not something that happens very often at least not out here in Las Vegas but it's certainly something you have to be aware of whenever you're hiking by yourself even if you're a guy you don't know you can stumble upon an illegal you know drug cook something like that and find yourself in all kinds of trouble so there's certainly danger that comes with hiking or running on trails especially if you're doing it alone in fact we've spoken to a number of witnesses who not only saw Rachel that day but they saw Rachel almost every day at the same time on the trail walking and running and exercising in the same area Lane said he added that the suspect obviously took the time to be familiar with the area and was most likely or potentially familiar with Rachel who regularly used the trail for exercise so what they're inferring here is that this dude was laying and wait on the trail watching it and looking for a target and possibly took a liking to Rachel and decided to map out you know the times that she came to run all that stuff and then put his plan into place and if that's the case we have ourselves a calculating scumbag don't we Lane noted however that the sheriff's office does not have information at this time to definitively say Morin was targeted there is evidence to suggest that the suspect chose a specific hiding location to target a victim he said but until we happen in custody and we can say that 100 percent it could have been likely he just picked a location and Rachel was the unfortunate person who was there at the time Gayler said the sheriff's office released a new sketch on Monday of the suspect described as a Hispanic male based on witness accounts and video footage of the suspect from March 2023 incident in Los Angeles described as a home invasion so this dirtbag broke into a house in LA and according to the authorities assaulted a young girl then was able to get out of Dodge somehow make his way all the way across the country to Maryland where he did this to Rachel Morin now what did he do on the way to Maryland did he hurt anybody else did he murder somebody else did he assault somebody else my guess is there's a good chance just 11 days after authorities found Morin's body the Harford County sheriff's office announced a link between evidence found at the scene of Morin's murder to evidence found at the scene of the LA home invasion using the combined DNA index system codus leading them to a single DNA match for an unidentified Hispanic male so they have the DNA profile they have the work up they just can't trace it back to somebody because this individual is not in codus or any of the other systems that law enforcement uses so that has to be real frustrating right you have the guy's DNA but you have nothing to match it to the Los Angeles police department collected a hat left behind at the scene of the March 2023 home invasion that turned violent leaving multiple people including minor children injured the suspect allegedly broke into the house in the middle of the night and assaulted the family inside before he was chased out surveillance video footage captured the man leaving shirtless through the front door like how do you break into somebody's house and they find out and you end up walking out of there on your own two feet i have news for you you break into my house and i i catch you breaking into my house i'm gonna beat you within an inch of your life with a baseball bat and i'm gonna wait for the police there joyfully standing on you like a caveman who just took down a woolly mammoth how the hell do you break into somebody's house assault everybody in the house and then get away with it that's some crazy shit right there it is ryan seacrest here there was a recent social media trend which consisted of flying on a plane with no music no movies no entertainment but a better trend would be going to chumba casino.com it's like having a mini social casino in your pocket chumba casino has over a hundred online casino style games all absolutely free it's the most fun you can have online and on a plane so grab your free welcome bonus now at chumba casino.com sponsored by chumba casino no purchase necessary vgw group void we're prohibited by law 18 plus terms and conditions apply there is no dna database that would allow me to plug dna evidence in and just give me a name lane explained in the podcast if you haven't been arrested and committed one of these crimes and been to prison then your name is not in the database there is no massive database with everyone's dna but it does allow us to link these two crimes and that's important right that's the first step and at least they have something to go on so it's not completely you know a just black hole of information they have a dna profile so if they get a suspect they can match it up and hopefully that leads to a conviction the harford county sheriff's office does not know what brought the suspect from la to the area of bellaire maryland but they do know he was in bellaire prior to morn's murder and they're asking members of the public who may have seen or communicated with the suspect during the summer of 2023 to come forward authorities say he still poses a threat to the public yeah i would think so somebody who's out here assaulting little girls and then murdering people on a hiking trail i would say that they're a danger to the public and they need to be apprehended asap and then after a trial after a conviction you already know volcanoes and helicopters the sheriff also addressed the matter of the suspect citizenship or lack thereof noting that the recent influx of illegal border crossings has become a serious concern for the public and that's a fact too people don't want to acknowledge that fact but it's true you can have people just streaming across the border without having any idea who is coming across or you know what they're capable of if they're criminals or whatever and there certainly is a large element of that coming across the border now does that mean everybody coming to america is some kind of criminal of course not but you have to be cautious and that's why we have intake that's why we have you know the immigration process so it's very important that everybody gets together in d c and figures something out because what we have going on now is obviously broken and it's not working correctly we don't know if the suspect is in the united states illegally gaylor said in the podcast episode we don't want to roll that out the sheriff said but he added that the suspect could also be a legal resident of any state from california to maryland there is no way to know without an identity and that's true too we don't know so we can't rule anything out right got to keep everything on the table just in case lane set a suspect who is an illegal immigrant would add another layer of complication to the investigation yeah i would think so you have somebody who's a national from a foreign country a little bit more difficult to locate them especially if they decide they're going to leave america and head back home so let's hope that there's some information that comes in sometime soon and we have some movement here on this suspect and rachel moron and her family get some
