And to do that, we're going to use the Independent once again. Headline, Idaho murders. Brian Kohberger affidavit reveals new details as bloody mattresses removed from the house. This article was authored by Rachel Sharpe and Bevin Hurley. Chilling details about the murder of four University of Idaho students surfaced this week when suspected killer Brian Kohberger appeared in court in Moscow for the first time, and his affidavit was released. The affidavit reveals that 28-year-old criminology PhD student was tied to the murders of Kaylee Gonsalbus, Madison Morgan, Zanna Colonel, and Ethan Chapin after his DNA was found on a knife sheath, the killer, left at the scene. I mean, again, not to go around in circles or anything, but how does Mr. Criminology over here leave his knife sheath at the scene of the crime with his DNA all over it? Cellphone data also shows Mr. Kohberger appears to have stalked the home at least 12 times into the run-up to the November 13th attack, and that he returned to the scene of the crime around five hours after the stabbing frenzy. For the first time, it emerged that one of the two surviving roommates overheard his chilling final words to the victims, "It's okay, I'm going to help you." Now I hope if he gets to the death penalty, right before he's put to death someone says that to him. Don't worry Brian Kohberger, we're going to help you. Following the release of the affidavit, several of Mr. Kohberger's former friends from high school revealed new details about his past. The suspect is currently being held on four counts of first degree murder and one count of burglary. Meanwhile, two mattresses, stained with blood, and other pieces of furniture were seen being removed from the house in Moscow where the four students were killed. Now we know that the judge has also preserved the crime scene and the evidence, so they're probably moving these mattresses to an area where they can be looked at better by either the prosecution or the defense or both, a more secure area where they can secure it as evidence. Motive suggested for Idaho murders. For weeks, police have struggled to establish a motive behind the shocking murder in November of four University of Idaho students. According to Idaho police, suspected killer Brian Kohberger drove past the scene 12 different times before the murders, suggesting an obsessive, stalker-like mentality according to CNN legal analyst, Ellie Hanig. The complaint does suggest a potential motive here. They talk about the fact that 12 different times Brian Kohberger went by that house. Mr. Kohberger, on Saturday, there could be a suggestion here that this was some sort of stalking or obsessive type of motive. Well, yeah, obviously, and it wasn't the house that he was stalking, right? He came across one of these roommates, either Madison or Kayleigh as my guests while they were at work or at a coffee shop or whatever, and he started his stalking, followed them home, tracked them on the internet, whatever it was. And my guess is, as this moves along, we're going to find out a little bit more about that come trial time because you know that the prosecutors, they're going to do everything they can to rebuild the whole entire life of Brian Kohberger as far as digitally goes. And if he was in communication or he was following or googling or whatever it is, they're going to be able to track that down using their whiz kids over there at the FBI. And we've already seen them build a whole entire map using his pings on his phone. So can you imagine what they're doing with what he was looking at on the internet? I'm sure it's a treasure trove of information and evidence. Why did Brian Kohberger apply for a police internship? The criminology PhD student charged with the murders of four University of Idaho students had applied for an internship with a local police department within months of the murders according to an unsealed arrest affidavit. Brian Kohberger, 28, was extradited to Idaho this week to be tried in the 13th of November deaths of Ethan Chapin, Kalygon Solvus, Zanna Cernodel, and Madison Morgan. The affidavit unsealed on Thursday, details how Mr. Kohberger, a student at Washington State University, right across the state border from the U.I. campus had applied for an internship in the fall 2022 with the Pullman Police Department. Kohberger wrote in his essay, he had interest in assisting rural law enforcement agencies with how to better collect and analyze technological data in public safety operations. So he basically looked at these police departments as, you know, rural backwater police departments that needed his help because he's such a great profiler, he's such a great criminologist that all of these rural places would be lucky to have him as part of their staff. Meanwhile, this dude doesn't even know that he shouldn't drive his own whip to the murder scene, doesn't know that he should leave his cell phone at home and the big one taking all of your possessions with you when you leave the murder scene. So I don't think that Pullman or Moscow or any other police department anywhere in the world would have been served to have a numb nut like Brian Kohberger working for them. Will DNA be what convicts Brian Kohberger? Brian Kohberger's DNA was discovered on a knife sheath that the killer left behind in the bedroom of one of the four slain University of Idaho students, according to investigators. Their documents were released on Thursday in support of Mr. Kohberger's arrest, revealing new details about the brutal murders and the bloody crime scene. One document written by a Moscow police officer Brett Payne reveals that the killer left a tan leather knife sheath from the murder weapon on the victim Madison Morgan's bed next to the 21 year old's butchered body. Now remember, Madison and Kaylee were sleeping together in that bed. And when you piece together all of the information inside of that affidavit, it's rather obvious that they were targeted first and they were murdered first. The sheath allegedly contains the DNA of a single male, the 28 year old criminology PhD student, now charged with the four murders. The sheath was later processed and had K bar USMC and the United States Marine Corps Eagle Globe and anchor insignia stamped on the outside of it, the officer rights. Now this isn't like a hard knife to find. You could go on Amazon right now and buy one of these or eBay or go to your local second hand military surplus store and I'm sure they have them too. But the thing that sunk Brian Kohberger here, at least for now, is the fact that his DNA is on that knife sheath. There is no explanation for that. How are you going to explain that to a jury? I mean, what did the knife sheath get up and walk from Brian's house in Pullman, over to the house in Moscow? So how are they going to explain that part of this evidence? I'm having a very, very hard time imagining a strategy that would be a pathway to getting him exonerated like he said he was going to be. Hey, there entrepreneurs. At your job, do you ever have to deal with a nose roller? Did the Idaho Killer focus special anger on Kaylee Gonzalez? The University of Idaho Killer ultimately claimed the lives of four people, but signs on the ground suggest the individual didn't treat all of the victims equally. Evidence at the crime scene suggests Kaylee Gonzalez was treated particularly violent during her death showing to have large punctures on examination. Ermel reports, whereas other bodies appeared to have less dramatic wounds. And this is something that we have discussed since the very beginning of this. Kaylee being the prime target of whoever the killer was. Now we know that the alleged killer is Brian Kohlberger. So the question becomes how did they ever meet? How did Brian Kohlberger ever even get Kaylee on his radar? And for me, I can't help but keep going back to the Mad Greek. We know about the vegan options there. We know that it's very close to where Brian Kohlberger worked. And we know it's a relatively popular spot in general. I know I eat at the Mad Greek, good food, good Greek food. So with her working there and it having access right to the freeway, being so close to Pullman, I just can't kick the feeling that when all is said and done, we're going to find out that it traces back to that job. And from there, who knows what this mad man was thinking, but we know that he put a plan into motion and that plan ended up with all four of these kids being murdered. And we see that plan building when we look at the digital evidence that's been provided to us already, stocking the house out, casing it out. All of that stuff leads up to this moment where he commits these murders. And as far as I'm concerned, until we hear differently, I think that it was Kaylee who was the target here. You hear about the overkill that we have heard from the beginning and just the brutal nature of the attack, especially when it comes to Kaylee, and that would lead me to believe that Kaylee was the main target. Then the the clincher for me was that Kaylee and Madison were attacked first and the sheath was left on that bed. So obviously, and this is my speculation here, he was enraged while this was happening. He had tunnel vision and he forgot himself. He was so caught up in the moment of finally doing what he wanted to do that he forgot himself and ended up making this gigantic mistake. So I've always thought that Kaylee was the main target here. Now obviously, if evidence goes another way, we will follow it wherever it goes. But as of now, I don't know how anyone can argue the fact at this point that it looks like anyway that Kaylee on solvus was the main target. And I think as this progresses and we hear more about what went on as far as from an official standpoint, I think that will come to the realization that it was Kaylee who was the target. All right, folks, well, that's going to do it for this morning's update. Now we have a lot of court documents that have already been dumped, some short ones. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to compile those and have an update tomorrow where all we do is go through those court documents with no commentary. Now obviously not the most enjoyable task, but it's very important and very crucial if you want to keep up to date with what's going on here. Remember, there is a gag order. So those court documents, those drops, they're going to be our blueprint to following along with what's going on. So they're going to be dumping those court documents every Friday, I believe. So over the weekend, I'll compile them. And then every Monday we'll do a document drop so that we can keep up to date where everything is and where everything is going.
