ICYMI: Border Patrol Agents In Kentucky Interdict A Synthetic Load From India

In early June 2024, a significant fentanyl seizure took place in Kentucky, marking a major success in the fight against the opioid epidemic. U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers intercepted a shipment containing nearly 900,000 fentanyl pills, highlighting the ongoing efforts to curb the influx of synthetic narcotics into the United States.

The fentanyl, with a street value estimated to be in the millions, was discovered during a routine inspection at a port of entry. The seizure is part of a broader initiative by CBP to combat the smuggling of illicit drugs, which includes deploying advanced detection technologies and canine units at border checkpoints.

The amount of Fentanyl that was interdicted was enough to kill over 50k people. Even though this load was kept from hitting the streets, how many are slipping the net and making it's way to a community near you?
