I am your girl, Sab, and I am here with, of course, the-- - I am the Jarell Web. Yeah, we are at the music city fit Expo. Brought to you by Game Day Studio today. - Yes. - We're gonna jump right in too, 'cause we don't have a lot of time. We're here for a good time, not a long time. We're here at our girl, Gracie. So you've heard her adds that I've read so eloquently throughout these nice podcasts, but now we have a face to go with the name. There you go, a beautiful face to go with the name. - We've been talking a lot too before the podcast, 'cause we've been getting set up. It's a, we're in a different kind of scenario today, a little bit more to it, I guess, but we've been having such great conversation and getting to know Gracie has been really awesome. We're talking about like women coming together and being on the same team. We're talking about bodybuilding. We're talking about personal training. So Gracie, tell us a little bit about like what you do. - Okay, I am Gracie record, obviously. And bad ass last name, I just gotta say. - I love that. - I love that. It's like for the record you, right? - Yes. - And I am a whole body health coach, is what I call it, and I had specialized in metabolic hormonal health. Body weak, women only. Unfortunately, sorry, only women. I feel like that's a little anti-de, I know I'm just playing. Go ahead. - Well, I do have a guy, my coach, Dylan Bear, he's the same thing I do. - Yeah. - Any other, any guy that ever wants to come, I send him his way, but yeah, we do just the lifestyle part. And I don't even really like saying lifestyle because everybody uses that word. But I do. - Everybody uses like mobility. - Yeah. - So I do. - Yeah, but I teach whole body health, mental health, metabolic health, hormonal health, get in the best shape of your life for life. Yeah, teach you how to eat all your favorite foods with your family. - That's awesome. - Yeah, yeah. It's just be able to live life. You gotta live life in a body you love. - What makes you want to like, take the women only route, like just because it's more personal to you? - It's not a woman. - Yeah, sure. - And I don't, and I is so much the body, when you start learning the science behind bot the body, metabolism of hormones that's been specifically and how food works with it. If I had to learn a guy, it would be a lot. - Oh yeah. - Women alone is a lot. - Oh yeah. - And everybody, every woman is different. So not new, that's why. - How do you feel about male trainers who say they are, they only train women? - So I have my coach as a male, and I feel like in the same thing, specialized, right? I mean, like a man's gonna know what, or so for my coach, Dylan, obviously he's the man, he knows how to help a man. Like he studies women, Dylan studies women, in their hormones and metabolism. I think that that, but there are a lot of coaches that don't study a woman's hormones and metabolism, they don't know that, and that's what I don't, I'm not okay with it, 'cause that could, and then I've seen it hundreds of times where girls go to coaches who write their hormones. - Oh yeah. - And now they can have kids. Like that's a very, very, very important to a woman, right? So to pick the right coach, one is huge. - Yeah. - You know, especially when it comes to-- - Especially in bodybuilding, actually, in bodybuilding. Or in bikini, I always, like, bikini is not bodybuilding in my head, you know what I mean? - Okay. - So like whenever I say bodybuilding, what if I said I don't know what you mean, 'cause I'm not, I'm not much of a bodybuilder. So, like bodybuilding, and bikini is part of it, but it's not, so bikini is not about how lean you could get, and how much muscle you have. Bikini is about balance. Like, balance, like up, top to bottom, left to right. - So like the front? - Portioner. - Portion. - Okay. - Yeah. - Okay. - So they don't want you, and so that's what, how do we were talking about earlier, the way bikini has evolved, went from business model that was sustainable for every woman, to very, very lean, very, very muscular, it's evolved, and so what it is today, right? - That's it. - And right now, we're in this transition, 'cause we want it to go back to business model, because we want women like you to look at these bikini bros and say I can do that. I just want to take a little bit more than what I do now, but I want, I can do that, and I can do that right now. If you look at the bikini bros, you'd be like, hey, no, I don't even want that, just because you don't want to. I thought you couldn't. - Sure, you know what I mean? - Right. - But you don't want to do the drugs that most of them do, you know? - Right. - And it's not bad drugs. People are all saying anything bad about drugs. That's everybody's thing, but that is what, so my clients are like health items, and they would not feel confident in themselves to do that. We want them to feel confident, it would be. - So I have a question for you, because this is me, none of the devil needs an advocate, but this is me playing devil's advocate, right? When we're talking about getting on stage, there's a standard that you should have when you, before you step on stage. I believe, right, outside looking in, right? And so what we're starting to see in a world of inclusivity is that I should be able to show up, however I want to, and stand next to Gracie, and compete, right? What is your mindset on that? Where people who say I'm not going to subscribe to the diet exercise, but hey, love your body the way you are, I'm going to go up there and show it. When this world, right, the body-building bikini world is literally built around being judged, right? - 100%. - And now we're saying don't judge me for my body. - Yeah. - What do you feel about people who come into that world with that mindset? - So I do 100% believe there's a, you have to do the work, if you want to look. So that all comes out of expectations, like what do you expect when I tell myself, and all the girls that I talk to, the gay girls, you literally are signing up to get these people to tell you what you need to work on when you've been working on it for a year. - This is not complimentary, we're not, we're not saying, oh you look good, this is me, you could be perfect in here, this is me picking you apart and saying, I mean you're cool, but you don't have no groups, right? Or you don't have any hamster, or whatever that is. And I'm like training hamstring, I've been doing, I can't do another hip thrust, right? I mean it's all I've been doing. - So that is what you're signing up for. So when you get on stage, your mindset set should be, I've done everything, if you did do everything you could do. So when I get on stage, I have done, what my coach told me to do every day for the last year. And so you can tell me anything you want to, I'm gonna do nothing better, right? That's what, but I'm here for you to pick me apart, so I can work on another year. - Where the girls go wrong is when their expectations are applause, good job. And they give their feelings hurt when the judges do exactly what they're supposed to do. - Judge them. - So from a coaching standpoint, how do you coach confidence? Because that's a big piece of it, like we were talking off camera, and I'll tell you about a client that decided she wanted to start doing wellness. And the first thing I told her is that you have to control your mind more than anything, before we start this journey, you have to control your mind, right? So how do you coach confidence in a world? Again, where you're literally being, you get negative, and I'm gonna judge you. It sounds really scary, right? But that's what we're doing, right? How do you coach confidence in saying, I did everything I was supposed to do, Coach Gracie, and they're still telling me I don't have enough XYZ or that I'm not enough. - Yeah. - What, like, I did everything. - Right. - Because it's very subjective sometimes, right? Sometimes it's what a coach likes. Wait, it doesn't like she was darker, she had a better chance, or a muscles pop back. It wasn't that she looked better, it's just at that point, right? How do you coach confidence? - Is that line that's a little blurred compared to something like a weightlifting competition, where it's like the rules of the rules. - 'Cause it's not performance, it's us three, we can look at Trent and say, I like his glasses. And he's like, man, I don't really like losing glasses. But he has one cool hat. Well, maybe he should shave his beard. You know, like all of the things from us three, we'll be completely different out looking on things. So how do you coach confidence? - So confidence, so you coach confidence outside of the prep, right? So confidence gets coached through your building season. And it gets coached through learning, like, so the reverse diet. So all of my, like, that's what I specialize in, what's my model on that body, right? The reverse diet, that's where they can unattached the emotions from food. That's when they can build their confidence. So, like, right now, I mean, 4,000 calories a day with a flat stomachs, like, women don't, they think that they have to in their building season. So they're in for the people in the back. You're eating what? - 4,000 calories a day. - With a flat stomach, yeah. And so I'm just gonna put that out there. - They knew that that was possible, which is 100% possible for every woman, but they gotta do the work. They gotta continue the work. The work is not prep, prep is easy. It's the other 10 months of the year. If they do that work, prep becomes, you can do anything, right? That's where the confidence is. - Okay, now, and because we were, again, we were talking about this and you led into it, how? 'Cause I've been trying to figure this part out. How do you convince women to eat? - This is why I think having a coach is so important. - Yes. - 'Cause it's so tricky. - Yeah. - People, it's counterintuitive sometimes to reverse diet. So, well, it's-- - Or they just feel like, if I'm eating 4,000 calories, I'm gonna get fat. Because the world is telling us that the less we eat, they'd be more restrictive. The less we eat, the better I'm gonna look. If I fast, then I'll look better. It was actually-- - Chloric deficit. - Yeah. - And that is a thing. - That is a thing, how do you understand? - But it's not always what you need. - Yeah. - You know, it's not, there's certain scenarios where a chloric deficit actually is not conducive to-- - Oh, you gotta get out of the deficit. Take, get back in it to see the results that you get, but how do you-- - High, high, high. - Yeah. - A deficit, a calorie deficit, and a metabolic deficit. It's very different. Like, oh, let me get-- - We talking science, okay, we talking science. I love talking science, girl. Talk that into me, Gracie. - Yeah, yeah. - We'll get confused. They think I'm burning, let's just say I'm burning 2,000 calories a day, and I'm eating 1,400, and I'm tracking my 1,400, and I know I'm burning 2,000. But your metabolism is not, is not burning 2,000. And it's obvious, because you're not losing weight, because it is. You need to be in a deficit. But if you're not losing weight, and you think you're in a deficit, then you're not in a deficit. Does that make sense? You're not in a metabolic deficit. So the reverse diet, starting that in a lot of coaches can do, you can do a reverse diet a lot of ways, or, you know, in many ways. I do it for me, for myself and for my clients, very slow, so that we gain as little body bed as possible. That's what every woman wants. We wanna be, we wanna have a plaid stomach and eat food, and not have to do a lot of cardio. So we're gonna do everything slowly. We're gonna-- - I sign up, yeah. I'll sign up just on that, you get it. - And that's what everyone wants to do. - I wanna eat food. - But they've been dying for their whole life. Like, I mean, you started, and that's why it's so important. I was telling you, from my part of my biggest purpose, is to teach moms the truth about nutrition, truth about, like, calorie deficit, all the things, how about the hormones, so that they can lead their kids to know it better, because they aren't taught in school about macronutrients and how the body works. But ultimately, every woman that's pretty much over the age of 30 at this point, had all their mom take the bread off of their hamburger when she was 10. So subconsciously, girls have started dieting at 10 years old. - We're eating, only eating salads, oh yeah. - And so to get them to eat, for me, and it depends on how much they are mentally, right? When they come to me, they have followed my journey. A lot of them, right? So they can see me eating 500 calories, or carbs a day, and they're like, all right, I know something's wrong, so they trust me, right? But the women that don't, it's very, just easy. Let's start with 80, 80 carbs a day. And if they do that for four days, one, they see that their scale does not move, it doesn't go up or down. That earns their trust a little bit, and then all right, we're gonna go to 90 grams, and we're gonna go slowly go up, and this scale starts to slowly go down, and that trust starts to slowly go up, too. And then eventually, a week, a month, whatever it is, they're like, all right, this something is something I don't know, and what they don't know is what they need today. - Yeah. - Does that make sense? - 1,000%, I'm really interested in your thoughts on the new trend right now, Sav, is muscle mommies, right? Muscle mommies, so that's women that look like Gracie, right? So that's women that are lifting heavy, getting stronger, and again, we talked about, we talked, yeah, yeah, I'm about, me too, I love what's with my camera right here, it's red. Listen, all right? - What a shot woman. - So my question again is, we talked about this off camera. Women walk up to you and say, I wanna look like you. Six weeks later, I still don't look like you, what's going on? - Right. - How do you coach expectations? - I'm honest with them. I mean, as clear as can be, I've been doing this for 11 years. It's not gonna take you 11 years to look like me, that's why you hire a coach, but it ain't gonna take, I mean, even for me, my programs are six months, or 12 months, that's expectation right there, you know? - But the internet told me this 30 day challenge is gonna have me ready for summer. - And so then I say, all right, have you done the internet challenge? - I'll pour it, yep. - I have a 30 day challenge, but that's not what we're talking about. - Are you there? - No. - They're gonna have like the body of their dreams? - Absolutely not. I lose a kickstart, it's a kickstart, yeah. - Yeah. - 100% no, yeah. - They kickstart. It's not gonna do nothing to change you entirely, it's a kickstart. - But sad, my birthday's in two weeks. I need to be ready for my birthday. - Well, then be ready for your birthday. - No, now I need to look like you for my birthday, sad, in two weeks. I need to, sad, you don't understand, like. - You're just gonna have to stop stringching. - I have two weeks, Gracie. I got a month at the most we're gonna spend we make case in. I got to do it in two piece. - Yeah, I'm gonna tell you you go get on the internet. (laughing) With me, I'm just like, yeah, I'm very upfront. - I got the other point of you here, like I can't do anything for you. - I'm not the coach, but I would actually turn a client away if that's what they were saying to me. Like two weeks till I have, like, I had a client recently who wanted, she's getting married, she had like a couple months, and she was like, I just wanna, she was in pretty good shape. She already, like, works out and stuff. She just, like, wanted to hone in on her. And I was like, if that's all you're looking to do, great. Like, I can't guarantee you, we're gonna make a lot of change in two months. But, like, if she was, like, overweight, and was like, I need to lose 15 pounds by my wedding, I'd say, find another coach. That's too much pressure. (laughing) - Too much? - I love that pressure. - If you're gonna do that successfully, lose 15 pounds in two months, it's gonna be very unhealthy. - Yeah, well, I think the question is, what are you willing to do to lose that 15 pounds? - Too much, we can do that. We can do that, we can do 15 in two months. But what are you, you gotta be dialed in. Like, we don't have any holidays. You have to be dialed in for these two months. And if you're, and you can do that, I got you. I can get you there. - Everything comes down to the willingness of a client. - What are you willing to do, yeah. - And even that, like, I get stacking and taking, so I'll meet the many girls that are, that think that, this is what breaks Mark, that think that two hours of cardio, that's, they're willing to do two hours apart. They're willing to eat 1,100 calories. No, that's desperate. That ain't, that is not disciplined. It is not disciplined. That's desperate. - Yeah. - Because, just 'cause you're willing to do that, doesn't mean that you need to be doing that. Like, does that make sense? - 1,000 percent. - One thousand percent. - That they think the more I do, the more disciplined I am, no. - And the better results, sometimes the less. - The less you're smarter, not harder. - Not even almost always. It's always, less is more always. - I wanna, especially when it comes to the body. - Yeah, I wanna jump into the hormonal part that you were, that you were speaking on, because everybody doesn't understand their hormones. Like, personally, I think all coaches, to study all bodies, right? - Yeah. - So, like, if you're gonna call yourself a coach, you shouldn't be able to coach anybody. Now, what you specify in hand is whatever, but if I ask you a question about my body, you should be able to answer it. - Yeah. - You know, I don't coach guys, but here's where I think you have going on, all right? So, harmonally, what is your approach when dealing with women? I know my personal approach, but I'm interested in hearing, like, how you approach that conversation, because most women may not even know their hormones are out of whack, or they know, or they, you know, like, what do I do now? Should I get on something? Like, what's your coaching? - So, like, nutrition can reverse hormones, period, so-- - Say that again. - Nutrition can fix and imbalance hormones, period, and hormones drive everything that we do. So, if you're tired, that's an imbalance. If you cannot lose weight, that's an imbalance. If you can't wait quickly, that's an imbalance. So, everything in your body that is not working properly, that's, if you can't sleep good, if you don't sleep long time, if you can't fall asleep, all these, if people understood, even blink it, like, all of the things are metabolic processes, all of the rhythm about hormones, right? And so, if they understood that, then they would know that, then they know that they have imbalances, right? But you can go get a test and let it just be proven. And, but food controls your metabolism, and your metabolism controls your hormones. So, if you want to control your hormones, you got to control your metabolism, and the only thing that controls your metabolism is nutrition. That's it. Movement, like, movement, like, not even working out. You can just walk, but we got to move, right? So, movement, nutrition, control your hormones. - We've talked about that before on the podcast, where, like, if you are somebody trying to lose weight, and you haven't tried, like, anything, well, you haven't changed your nutrition, you haven't moved, you haven't gone to the gym, gotten a gym membership. The first thing you do, if you just changed your diet, like, make one small change. And you could still, like, not really even do much physically, and you could still lose weight. You know, I'm not saying everybody, and that's the secret. But, like, no, like, but this is what I tell people. And this, it's kind of to answer a question about the coach that I am. They'll be like, how do I lose weight? Okay, what did you eat yesterday? And tell me, don't eat that again. Like, it's that simple. Like, whatever you've done to this point, you do not need to do it again, because it's got you what you got. And if you don't want that, then why would you do it again? But that also intimidates people, because they're like, oh, I'd have to literally-- Literally don't know. How do I change it? This is why you hire a coach. Where's my camera? Hire a coach. Because nutrition is a lot trickier than just, like, okay, I got this, like, online cert for it. I've been there as a coach, where I'm like, oh, I need to know about nutrition. You're cert, boom, done, a plus. All right, I can talk to you about your diet now. It's a lot more complicated than that, because everybody's different. And then it took me seeing a nutritionist myself, and, like, getting that information about myself from someone else who studied this. So yeah, I agree. I think it's more in-depth study as a trainer. And if you're going to be a good coach, you're either going to have referrals, and refer out, and have a team of people that you talk to about nutrition with your clients, and have that set up for them, or you know a lot more than just an online cert, you know? Like, man, it's so-- And I wanted to ask you, too, like, if you're a client who's, you know, you've hired a coach, you're setting macros, maybe you're on the other side, maybe you're still not losing weight, what are the things that you look at if it's not nutrition? Movement, steps, sleep, stress, like-- Bingo, that's what I wanted you to say, I was hoping you'd say. Everything, like, even their merits, their merits. Dress is a big one. What's hormone, I'd like to say, which is the hormone? It's, like, any danger, and what people understand is that workouts increase score at all. Eating too little, increase score at all. Eating too much, increase score at all. Again, going back to the balance. What is all kind of like your survival hormone? Like, when you're stressed out, it's like, hey, here's something. Like, it's the byproduct of that. You talked about your coaching style. We're about to wrap it up here, so I'm really interested. We always let our guests leave us with the one thing they want our listeners to gain from their appearance on our podcast. So if you want to leave our people with one thing, it can be fitness, it can be life, it can be, hey, go home and take care of your kid. Whatever your thing is, what would you like to leave them with? I would like to leave you with-- this is a saying that it's not cheating. Eat not cheating. Eat not cheating. Yeah. Because you can eat donuts and kind of sticks back. You can eat pizza and have a stick back. You can eat with your family and french fries and live life. Do these things. And I do have a stick back. And have a stick back. And that's not the stick back. And the more that the point is, you can eat food. Kind of, though, right? All food. The point is being happy and happy, like, whole body hell. You're mentally and happy because I can eat ice cream with my husband. Like, yeah, it makes me happy. You know what I mean? And you can have all of that at one time. Yeah. Well, I mean, I don't have to shoot. You can have it all, yeah. Because like, if you're so hyper focused on it, I have to have a six pack. I have to have a booty. Like, OK, your cortisol levels are probably through the roof. And that's probably why you ain't giving it. Right. But like, that's when everything fell into place for me, aesthetically, it's when I stopped stressing out about it. And I were focusing on it. And being like, and it's because I was injured. And I was like, well, hands are thrown up. I literally can't move. So I might as well stop, like, beating myself up because doing that got me injured and sick. So if I just actually learn how to be healthy, like, I just want to not be in pain. I just want to be, like, happy. And then, low and behold, oh, yeah. There's my abs. Yeah. I call it food freedom because it literally is a feeling that most people will never feel. The power, how much food controls their life, you know, and should not have that. It's built a wall from the grocery store and get any food and know that you can fit it into your, what, what, diet? Yeah, it's not just letting yourself go and eating whatever you want all the time. But it's understanding yourself and understanding nutrition and understanding fitness. I don't think it should be limited to just, I think you should fire a coach so that you can have that understanding. Like, don't go, oh, you're an expert. I don't need to know any of this. It's like, yeah, you do. You don't want to make it somewhere. You don't want to figure it out yourself. That's why we're here. It's a teacher. Yeah. There it is. You dang sure. That's my Louisiana, my Louisiana twang. You dang sure don't want to figure it out yourself. Grace, if you want to thank you for stopping in and coming and stopping by. Go back, go back, copy. You're not gonna talk yet, Chad. We're gonna get you here. I promise we're gonna get you in here. But first, I gotta get my girls. Savvy, is it Savvy South? - Sure, whatever you wanna call it. - Hello. - Hey, I gave it to you. I told you to put me in C. That was my C minor. We made sure I was on too. - Actually, this is major, but it's fine. - This is another one of our micro podcasts. This time we have our title sponsor, Game Day. But we're not gonna call you Game Day. We're gonna call you Chad, right? I think that would be appropriate. - I'm gonna call you Game Day Chad. - Game Day Chad. There it is. - You made it Chad? - Let's jump into the people that've heard what Game Day is, or heard the name Game Day. Will you tell us what Game Day is and what will you guys provide services for? - Yeah, absolutely. Well, thank you very much for having me. - Absolutely brother. - Podcast, so I don't really know what to do with the mic here. - Just hold the mic and talk. (laughing) - Yeah, so Game Day, we like to simplify really health for men. So men, generally speaking, you know, for me personally, like when I'm asked what my primary care physician's name is, I never know. - Yeah. - I've been in like three, four years and I'm pretty still in tune with mine. So we're not a primary care place, but what's really happening out there is guys, they're struggling. They're struggling one way or another. They're going to gyms and, you know, they got their trainers, they're starting to eat well and they're just not seeing games over time. And so what we're doing is we're providing a unique experience where they can come in complimentary, come in, get their testosterone levels checked, we'll test your PSA as well, which is very important, making sure your prostate's healthy. - Prostate healthy, yep. - So we get those results on site in about 20 or 25 minutes. And like I said, we're not charging for that and we're also not charging to sit down with our licensed nurse practitioner. So really, you come in for a 9 a.m. appointment, get your blood work done, sit in our lobby, which is a great, you know, man cave type of environment, basically everything except for beer, you know, in a man cave. - Can I come with that? - Is it be well be or? - No, it's not. (laughing) - It's be out for the blood work, you know. So, you know, you do that, I guess to continue on with it, you know, by 9.30, you'll have your results, just sit down with the clinician. And really by 9.45, you should have a game plan to move forward. And if it is something that is, you do have low T, you decide to go on testosterone placement therapy, we have testosterone on site, we'll give you your first injection right then and there, show you how to do it. And from there on out, you could administer it at home if you so choose or with the convenience of our locations, you could just come right in and get your shot without a disappointment. So. - I haven't heard of anything like this. - No? - Except like a doctor's office. - Yeah, I want you to talk about for men then, before we get into all the benefits, what, why is testosterone and men so important? - Yeah, so it controls, there's a lot of things, right? So we're seeing a lot of guys that are coming in and, you know, their symptoms are brain fog, fatigue, muscle loss. You know, a lot of people are just thinking that, hey, by my libido spine or I'm not having, you know, issues in the bed, then I'm good, right? And so that's- - Or that's when they wait to start doing something, right? Like, hey, bro, last night it didn't work. So I'm here today. (laughing) - I mean, truly, definitely. - When you had symptoms the whole time, but that was just kind of the final symptom. - Correct. - Yeah, 100%. And so, I know for me personally, like, I'm an open book. For me, like, I just, I was going through this process of starting this up, former, you know, college athlete, and I've got two young kids at home. So I'm like, obviously tired all the time, you know, starting this business, not sleeping as well. You know, I'm working out, but I'm not getting gains. And I'm like, well, I watched up athlete, right? - Yeah. - That's kind of it. And then I went through, you know, our own process. And I was like, wow, I've actually got really low testosterone scores. So I personally, I started on the journey myself, you know, about 11, 12 weeks ago. It's been great for me. And this is, you know, a sales pitch. Everyone can react differently. But personally speaking, like, I know, I would not have gone through this process, you know, until someone was actually talking to me about it. So it's been, it's been great. I mean, we're having guys come in for their, you know, six-week fall loves, three-month fall loves. And you can just tell up in their step, you know, we have some spouses that have called in or like my husband's step. - Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like, can you talk a little bit more about, because you said, we'll talk about the benefits later, but it's later now, because I want to know. - Well, I was talking from like, workout stamp watch. - Sure. - Yeah, as far as maybe, but go ahead, yeah. - More than just like how, because I think people associate like, oh, I have low testosterone. Therefore, like, you know, I'm not good in bed right now. I think people associate it with sex, but what are the other things that it can affect? Or I guess a better question would be to ask, like, your personal experience, like, how else did it improve? Like, what did you notice it doing to have regular testosterone levels? Like, get those things checked and be on the right level with it. - The energy. - Yeah. - Having the energy in recovery. I'd say those two things. And then, secondarily, like, I'm used to, like, okay, I kind of know my range of where I want my weight to be. And I stopped looking at the scale, because my number went up, because I've got more muscle. - Right. - And we all know that in this fitness and, you know, in this three day, you can't just look at the number and be like this, but my clothes are fitting better. I've got more confidence, and it's, I'm going to the gym now, instead of going, you know, three days a week, I'm going six days a week. And on that seventh day, I'm like, I've felt myself not to go. - That's right. - I need a day to rest. So that's exciting for me, because I haven't felt that way in probably 15 years, to be honest with you. So that, you know, just, I don't know, feeling more comfortable in my own skin, but I think-- - You probably go into your workouts with more energy, and therefore getting more out of your workouts, therefore getting, like, those results of feeling better in your clothes, feeling, you know, just better in general. Like, we're talking about hormones with, with, - Gracie. - Gracie. - Yeah. - And it's the same with women. You know, if your hormones are out of whack, it's gonna affect everything that you do. But energy levels, I think, is a huge thing to talk about when it comes to hormones, because even just a slight dip in that affects everything that you're doing. Like, your workouts, you're not workout, you're, like, you know, brain fog, you're cognitive, like, you know, you're intuition, all of it. - Here's my question, outside of blood work. I know that's kind of the primary way we check it. All the other stuff sounds like life, outside of low libido, right? I'm tired, I'm not thinking clearly. I have low energy, that's 'cause I have a toddler at home, right? So it's like, so even when I go to my primary care doctor, he's like, have you been a toddler like that? Like, yeah, but I got a toddler. So, and a wife and a career, you know what? So yeah, of course I'm tired. How do you speak to men who say, when you go up this list of benefits, or, or maybe they think, I'm just not, like, my wife will know, like, I'm not in the mood, something's on. She'll probably send me to you. She's like, hey, listen, I offered him something. He was like, nah, you go, okay. So something's wrong, she's never turned out, right? So outside of that, how do we know that, or what do we look for it to say that you may have low tea? And what, 'cause here's another thing, it's what is low tea, 'cause that looks different in everybody, right? Everyone's gonna look different. Yeah, I think the thing that you look at, and the reason why we're testing, right, or anywhere that you are testing, is there's numbers and there's symptoms. And so, you could come in and, you know, there's a range of numbers, so let's just say, normal range in quotes can be 200 to 1100. What's the huge range? Huge range, let me just go, I'm not the medical person here, you know, I've been in this long enough, so, you know, just kind of hear me out for what it's worth. It's typically around that 400 level, that 400, 500 level that people are seeing, are being symptomatic. Now, if someone comes in and they're like, "I'm having these symptoms, I'm tired of them," all this stuff, and there's scores 750, we're not trading them with this other than that, we're not doing that. So, what I always say, you know, the people, friends of mine, that are coming in, they're like, "I don't know if I've got low tea, "or they come in through the process," and they're scores 350, but they have no symptoms, and they're like, "I didn't know I had low tea, "do I need to get on this?" Like, if you don't have symptoms, don't get on it, right? Like, look at the symptoms, look at all these things. Yeah, it could boost, it could make you feel a little bit better and stuff, but, you know, it's something that is your hormones, so you don't want to just be tinkerin' with it if you don't need to. So, yeah, having guys come in and fillin' out this intake form, going through and really having a process in the medical management, I think that's the other thing that I've seen is you have people that are comin' in, "Hey, I've been gettin' testosterone online," right? There's some clinics out there, you know, nationally that they'll medically manage you in quotes, and, you know, are you seeing them in person? Are you following up? Are you following up with the same person every time? How are you able to reach them if there's other things? 'Cause then you gotta start lookin' at it, or your estrogen level's getting out of whack, you know? And so a lot of stuff where we're able to be proactive about it, you know, you're getting more of a reactive, you know, response, and that's not something you want to mess with before. So that's why our clinic, we're out there. We want to test you, we want to see where you're at, and we want to get you to an optimal level that's working not just from the numbers standpoint, but you're feelin' better, and you're feelin' like this is great. So, yeah, the- - Oh, it's kinda similar. - What was I saying? - When you're saying it's not just the numbers, it's kinda similar with training, like, we can keep track of your PR numbers, but, like, I also very much, probably more so care about how you feel, and, like, what your symptoms are, or are not anymore. Yeah, is there any, is there such thing as too much testosterone that we've seen out? What are the symptoms of that? - Probably. - Sure. (laughing) - Yeah, excess of hair, man boobs, yeah, yeah. - Yeah, exactly, yeah, and I think that's kind of it when we talk about, like, optimal ranges. So if we want to get guys, let's just say, in general, you know, 800, 900 range, and if they're, like, jacked up to, like, 13, 1400, you're like, all right, let's- - You got dial it in a little bit? Yeah, a little bit, you know. Or see if they're abusing it a little bit. - Sure. - Yeah, so that's generally speaking, you know, that's kind of the optimal. - Is there anything addictive about it? For people who might be worried about, like, I don't know. - The addictive part is, are you feeling really good now, and then you show off of it, and it's not gonna drop your levels below where you started, so if you're starting at 500, we get you up to 900, and you're like, you know what, this is for me, I just wanna, you know, try it without it. You're not going down to 200 because of it. - Gotcha. - I think that's one of the misconceptions that you're going to just, like, completely plummet, and you did it, so you might feel like you did beforehand, and you're not realized how good you were feeling on it, but yeah, it's not something that you're gonna be addicted to. - It's not like, 'cause like, I'm thinking, it's very different, it's not a hormone medication, but ADHD medication, I've been on it, and it's very addictive. It can be very addictive to where you're addicted to that feeling of like, 'cause it does help you be more productive, you know, when you have ADHD, you're like, kind of all over the place. So when you're able to focus, it's nice, but it's also kind of a physical feeling, in a sense, too, where you're a little bit like, okay, there's a come down from it, so then you can't wait to take it again, and I find that dangerous, you know, so I don't take it anymore, and I'm not judging people who take it because it's prescribed by doctors, for reasons that those doctors feel valid, but that's why I ask, because I think some people are afraid to go on medication sometimes, they always ask those questions, so their doctor is the sedictive, am I going to have a tolerance to this, am I gonna get reliant on this? And I think it's important for people to know that like, if you're monitored with whatever drug that you're prescribed or using, or trying, or if you're doing injections to testosterone, like somewhere like Game Day Men's Health is like a godsend for those people, because like, whether or not it is addictive or you're worried about it, you're being monitored, you have help, you know, so you can go to these people, go to Chad, and you know, if you have questions, or you're doubtful about it, cool, go to Chad, talk to him about it. - Yeah, I'm curious about, it's, I think, especially TRT, is very much out in the open more now, like more people are discussing, more people are talking about it, but even with that, there's still a kind of negative connotation that goes along with it, because it's being misused, or people who don't necessarily need or are taking it, or people who, like, you know, like, celebrities are taking it before they have a big movie, because it will help with muscle gain and things like that. So, I personally don't necessarily put testosterone in like a PED category, but there are people that do, how do we talk about the negative connotation that comes along with that, and the misused of it, how do you address that part of it, especially in the fitness industry? - Yeah, I mean, fitness industry, you know, it's just, what people have to understand is, it's not like the stereo, right? It's not this anabolic stereo, and I think that is something that comes along with it. - You can kind of put it all in the same category. It's an injection, like, it's like, if, for whatever, my wife walked in and I was like, oh, that's testosterone, she was like, bullshit, like, she is like, crinting, like, I take crinting, she's like, what is this stuff that you're, this white powder that you're taking every night? Like, yeah, like, baby, it's crinting. - Are you snorting your crinting? - Sometimes, this is, I don't know. It's almost pre-workout I've had. No, I don't. (laughs) So, right, it's all a line, maybe, mix it. (laughs) Listen, I'm joking, do not snip your pre-workout, guys. So, how do you address that part of it, because it's not a steroid, but it is an injection. There are some negative connotation. It is being misused. The same way people do it with ADHD medicine, like, they do snort that sometimes, you know what I mean? So, how do you address that part? I walk in and chat, I'm a trainer, I don't want, that's honestly, one of the reasons why I don't want to get checked, because I don't want, maybe I am low, or in that range, you're like, bro, we can get you higher, and I'm like, fuck it, turn out, I'm sorry, forget it, let's do it. (laughs) - Why, what do you do to me? - The negative part of it, it's like, in my mind, it is almost a cheat code. How do you, how do you look at that? - Yeah, I mean, the way that I look at it is, it would be a cheat code if you didn't need it, right? Like, even if you came in and you qualified for it, and your ranges were still like, medium to higher range, but you still qualified for it, and you're like, yeah man, I just want to get that extra PR, or I want to do that, and like, I'd say, don't get on. Like, I would, you know, almost recommend to my NP, if I knew that coming in, you know, your buddies and-- - Yeah, let me just tell them, yeah, tell them no, yeah. - Yeah, tell them no, you know, so yeah, there's people like that we're seeing, but it's, gotta look at it, it's like, you know, if you're working on, you know, your tank is almost empty, right, like for me, like, my tank was almost empty. I mean, that's how low I was on, so I'm not looking at that, I'm just looking to get back up to par, you know, I back up to where I should be, so it's just replenishing what, you know, at my age-- - Should be there. - Should be in the, maybe a little bit above the optimal range, but not going from, you know, 200 to 800 to 1600, right, so that way I'm out there and I'm, you know, looking like you. - You're gonna be a, you're gonna be a jerking hoe. If your wife is, this is where I'm here. If your wife is gonna love you, she's gonna hate you. Like, once you get on it, it's like, she's gonna be like, all right, always seem like, hey, don't touch me again. Like, hey, listen, hey, I'm done, listen, don't-- - Listen, there's that, absolutely that, but, too, but I'll tell you what, man, considering starting this business where, you know, of course, you're starting this business, you're just pulling your hair out, left them right, whatever it is, like, I haven't been this energized in a long time, so I'm showing up in a better light, I'm showing up more confident, you know, and the good thing is, with a clinic like Game Day, it's from the medical management. So we, guys, they're on it and they say, hey, you know what, I feel like, just, it's in range, okay, let's come back in and-- - Why don't you tell 'em now, yeah. - You know, and see what it is, and sometimes, you know, maybe it is 'til something else comes, you know, they start talking a little more about what you're-- - Yeah, it's the other thing that you're injecting with it. - Yeah, I mean, you're gonna have a negative connotation of anything out there, but it's like anything else, abusing it, right, like, if you're abusing whatever it is, like-- - But the way I see it is, testosterone is naturally producing your body anyways, you know, so, like, it's going to happen that people have health setbacks that are natural, you know, and there's, you know, I see natural, and like, there's outside factors that can factor in, but, you know, testosterone, estrogen, hormones, are things that are naturally producing our body, so if you're low, it's not like you're-- you have low energy, okay, I'm gonna go, you know, buy some cocaine, that would be not the healthy way to go, you know, game-day men's health is not about, let's put a band-aid on it and sort some cocaine for some energy, we wanna get down to the root of the issue, and that's fitness, it's like, that's always what Dorell and I are trying to do as coaches, I'm not gonna put a band-aid fix on your problem 'cause at the end of the day, that's actually gonna hurt me too, it's gonna hurt my reputation as a coach because I'm putting a band-aid fix on this, it'll eventually come back as a bigger problem later, whereas if I look at the root problem, if I look at, okay, let's look at your testosterone levels, your blood work, and let's find the root cause so that we can actually have a lasting solution to this problem, you know, that's what Dorell and I do with, you know, a weight loss client or somebody who's wanting to build muscle, it's like, what's the root cause of why you're not able to do this without me, now we'll attack that a lot of the time, it's sleep or something like that, you know, it's something naturally that you should be doing that you might not be getting enough up, so that's how I see it, is like, yeah, you could abuse anything, like, you could sleep too much, you could eat too much, you can exercise too much, you can do anything, too much of anything is a bad thing, but I like that you're addressing, like, naturally occurring hormones in the body, just trying to regulate everything that's already happening, you know? - And I know the answer, but I want you to say it on the mic, what game day is for men only, so everything that you do in there is just for men, why did you sector out men only as opposed to treating women or opposed to having everything we do or something, we do everything, why is it just men? - So first off, like the whole, like, semi-glue type, we do that, right? It's almost a commoditized thing, right? - 100%, yeah. - So, you know, we do that, we're not leading with that, it's once again, people are getting that from all over the place. When it comes to men only, it kind of goes back to, like, right now, the options, you know, you and I, we're both interested in going. You can go to a place that's, you know, more of that med spa environment, that's men and women, but we're not feeling like ourselves. So do we really want to sit in a lobby in a waiting room where there's eight women in there that might be my wife's friends or whatever it is that they're going to get their hormones. - As a woman, I totally understand that. - So you're already feeling poorly about yourself. Then the other thing is like, guys are going to doctors, they're not doing stuff, so to say, "Hey, come here, come to our place." You know, I've got this big, you know, mural of, there's Neel and Stadia, I'm like, "It just looks good, it looks good." Rather you like Tennessee, or not. - That's what I said, that's what you lost me right there. You said, "Neel and Stadia, I'll never come, no." (laughing) - A conversation. - I'll never come in there, no. - Um, no, but like, you know, something that you just feel comfortable with. I mean, shoot, like, I got, I don't have a man cave at home, so I'll just go in the office and walk around. - Hey. (laughing) - I'm sitting at this house. - I'm just supposed to wipe his nose with a fire. (laughing) - The game is coming all the time, you know? - Exactly. - I feel like it's totally, like, it's actually important, I think, to have the separation. For men to have stuff that's only men, and for women to have things that are only women, 'cause women are really good at being like, "We didn't only, no boys allowed." - Yeah. - But guys are like, you know, like, I guess, you know, we can do, like, I think it's important that men have their own place to go, because if it does, at the end of the day, I think you've mentioned spouses being happy, like, hello, like, women are happier, women are healthier. (laughing) - It's been, it's been really fun. So I've spent a lot of time just, like, sitting in the lobby, getting to know guys. It's like, I don't, I don't lead with it, but like, HIPAA's like, non-existent, in some of these cases. - Yeah. - We gotta come in. Man, must score 240. - Yeah. (laughing) - Rotula. (laughing) - I'm like, I'm gonna get it soon. (laughing) - I don't have to. Like, I've seen, like, business cards exchange. I've seen, like, I don't know, it's cool. You know, if you're in this place like that, like, since, like, you can do that for barbershop. Like, all these things. But in the healthcare, you never think about that, right? Everyone just goes around their phone. But, like, to actually have people in there that, and they're not always talking healthcare, but those are some funny examples of, yeah, just in there, be like, yeah, my score is this, my score is that, I'm just sitting there, like, all right, well, I'm not saying that, you know, like-- - Yeah, that's all y'all, y'all are sharing, yeah. - Y'all are sharing, but, but no, it's, it's just, that's the environment that I want. - Love it. - I really want it to be just a warm, welcome environment. Guys can feel like themselves and not be ashamed, right? - Love it. - Yeah, ladies, you know that your man, when he's gone, if he's at Game Day Men's Health, but he ain't got nothing to worry about. - He's coming home. - He's coming home. - Just be ready, just stretch. Go through staff mobility program, before, why he's gone. - Do you know where he's at? He's at Game Day Men's Health. - Yeah. - He's surrounded by men right now. - That's right. - I don't know. (laughing) - I don't know if I can celebrate, no. (laughing) - Chad, before we wrap, man, we always like to leave our guests with the last words. So, whatever that is, you can talk about Game Day Men's Health. It can be an inspirational quote. Just something that you want to leave our listeners with. That's on you, man. - I mean, no, I appreciate him for putting me on the spot for this. Yeah, I just, you know, ultimately we care about guys and their health, right? And these stigmatizing some of the issues that they're going through. If it's something that we can help with, great. If it's something that we need to refer them out to a partner for other things that they're dealing with, we've got plenty of partners in this area as well. So, that's what we truly and genuinely care about. It's just men in our community and helping them out one way or another. - I love it. - I love it, man. - I think that's it. - They will wrap right there, Seth. - Let's do it. - You gonna close it out? - Sure. Thank you guys so much for joining us for another episode with our friend Chad here, Game Day Men's Health.
