KZN's number one for local news, this is East Coast Radio NewsWatch. We start with the breaking news that the MK Party has dropped its election rigging case. At the same time, the DA says it will not be part of the government of provincial unity in Haudeng. A short while ago at a press conference, ANC Secretary-General Figilam Balula had said Haudeng Premier Pangazalu Sufi would announce his new cabinet this evening with or without the DA's involvement. We'll have more on these two breaking news stories in a later bulletin. President Sordamapossa says his newly sworn in cabinet will meet for the first time next week. Members of the National Executive took their oaths of office in Cape Town today. The cabinet comprises ministers from six of the 11 parties that are part of the Government of National Unity. Speaking to reporters after today's ceremony, Ramapossa said putting together the new cabinet was a challenging process. It's been a very, very long, difficult, complicated, but I think a satisfying journey, not only for us, but for the people of South Africa. This is a truly historic moment where we have brought together people who oppose each other during the elections, who have now sworn to work together. It's now come to an end and to a start. This is a fresh start for all of us in South Africa and we will work very hard to take our country forward and marching orders will be when we open the party. While the 32 ministers and 43 deputy ministers raised their hands and promised to uphold and maintain the Constitution, the lengthy ceremony was littered with light moments. One of them came as the new sports arts and culture minister and the former inmate, Gaiton Mackenzie, was wrapping up his oath. So help me go out. Good evening to see you. Thank you. Take a seat. The last time I just asked me to sit, it made me sit for dead years. It's a side here. While mineral resources minister Guedem Antache was jokingly labeled, a future leaker of state secrets. To be a true and faithful consular, to devile, not to devile directly or indirectly. There's a problem, President. There's a problem. Any secret matters. Before the swearing-in, Ramaphosa either mistakenly or deliberately titled John Stan Haysen as a doctor, much to the amusement of the national executive members there. Stan Haysen brought up his new title when it was his turn to be sworn in as agriculture minister. Chief Justice is the apex officer of the court and would you confirm the honorary doctorate that was confirmed by the president of the Republic of South Africa. The only problem is that the president is not the university. And the SPCA says there is still no trace of a pintown woman believed to have abandoned more than a dozen cats leading to their deaths. The cats were found to the woman's property in Glenpog a few weeks ago, where she allegedly ran a cat rescue centre. The SPCA laid a charge of animal cruelty with police following the discovery. Barbara Patrick from Clufen Highway SPCS is the property owner's disappearance as a cause for concern. We received a complaint from a member of the public who was concerned that a lady hadn't come home seven days to feed her cat. When we got access onto the property, we had to obviously get a warrant. The cats that were in the house were dead. They were more than 20 cats. They had been dead for a long time, a long period of time. It wasn't just a week. They didn't know where she was. They were worried about her cats and that's why they reported. Durbin 23 tomorrow, which was May 25. Peter Murrow spoke 22. And here's what's coming up in your sport. Woman's second seat Coco Golf is cruised into the third round at Wimbledon. Ivan Tony eager to make a difference for England in their euros court of final. And in some big news, Rolani Marquena has left Mama Lodi Sundance by mutual consent.
