Jack Brewer was born on January 8, 1979, in Ft. Worth, TX and raised in Grapevine, TX by Rosa and Eddie Brewer. His teenage years were unfortunately faced with racial tension, however Brewer rose above adversity and used that as motivation to start his advocacy for racial inclusion, equality and the rights of the poor. He attended Grapevine High School where he was a top student graduating with a 3.9 GPA, All-State athlete and record setter in football and track. After leading his high school to its first State title in its 90-year history as well as setting State track and field records, Brewer went on as the first person in his family to graduate from college, starting at Southern Methodist University (SMU) where he was a freshman All-American Candidate in football and a Disney World Classic Record Holder in track.
Transitioning off the National Football League (NFL) playing field in 2006, Brewer pursued a career on Wall Street as an Investment Advisor with Merrill Lynch's Private Client Group where he raised over $20mm in assets under management (AUM) in his first year as an investment advisor, ranking in the top one percentile in his class across the firm. Following that role, Brewer went on to serve as the Managing Director at Paramount Bio Capital, one of the United States' largest private biotech-focused investment banks, from 2009-2011 where he helped close two NASDAQ public offerings in his first year as an investment banker. During that time, he also helped launch Opus Point Partners, a healthcare-focused hedge fund, where he raised the seed capital at the fund's inception, consistently producing double digit returns throughout the fund's history.
Since 2002, Brewer has been regularly involved with the production of numerous documentaries, television, digital media and radio broadcasts domestically and internationally, as well as continues to have an ongoing presence in print media. Brewer serves as a regular contributor and writer on many major media networks including Yahoo Finance, CNBC, Fox Business, Fox News, CNN, News Max and the American City Business Journals where he provides his expert analysis and opinion on a range of topics from finance and global development to sports, education and politics.
