What is the Charlotte International Auto Show? Besides a great event for your family? Besides an opportunity to see the latest in automobile technology? I got an idea. Let's ask Fred Lagori. We are unplugged and totally uncut. Thanks for having me on. Absolutely. You are less than two hours away from the show officially getting started here in Charlotte. When we're all very excited for it, Chevy has got some great things in store for showgoers. I'm glad you started with Chevy because Chevy in the past couple of years changed my life because they are so up to date with modern day technology when it comes to that digital platform. Oh, well, I'm glad to hear you say that. You know, nearly 95% of the Chevy product lineup will be new to the last three years or less by the time this year closes, meaning we've got some of the freshest product lineup out there. And because of that, we can incorporate a lot of great infotainment technology, all the latest and greatest things like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to great safety features as well. And having that communication, it reaches more beyond the GPS system because your car is almost like riding with a best friend when you're with a Chevy. Again, glad to hear you say that. Yeah, every retail Chevrolet you can buy has on-star included in the purchase when you get the vehicle. So I'm sure you're familiar with on-star. I've heard the commercials about what it can do in the event of a collision and things of that nature. On-stars actually about to go into its 20th year of availability. We'll celebrate that coming up in February of 16. And through the years have really changed on-star to do a whole host of things. There's an app that you can get for Android or iOS or even a Windows phone, for those of us that own one, that will allow you to communicate to the vehicle, remote start it from literally anywhere in the globe if your vehicles equipped with remote start. If you are opted into a particular level of subscription to on-star, you can geo-locate your car. You can communicate to it in a number of ways right from the palm of your hand, which is absolutely great for those of us who lose their car in a mall parking lot. Or fly into, you know, the frozen thunder come winter time and need to remote start the car before you are within, you know, key fob range. And then, too, the infotainment technologies have just gotten so much more robust. So things like being able to take that smartphone, tether it via USB to the car, and then have an interface with, like, your iPhone to be able to project certain apps right onto your infotainment screen. It's fantastic. You can do the same thing with Android Auto now with a great number of our cars. That's what I love about the Charlotte International Auto Show. And I think that's the reason why so many families year after year make this an event and a destination because it's an opportunity to see the future now. Almost definitely. You know, we've got a host of vehicles on display and, you know, I realize we're a short time here. So I won't go into all of them, but there are five new vehicles that Chevrolet has launched in 2015, incorporating to some degree 25 new technologies that we're debuting. Most of those can be observed at the Auto Show and as well as the technologies, all of our product specialists there can speak to. Things like I mentioned, like CarPlay and like OnStar and OnStar RemoteLink. The show is a great forum or venue, a forum for us to show off our product line and then a venue for folks and the kids to come in, learn about the cars, very low pressure, no pressure setting and environment. We've actually got a test drive opportunity as well both Friday, Saturday and Sunday for a number of select Chevrolet vehicles and then some of our Buicks and one of our GMC pickup trucks as well. So folks can actually take the opportunity to do a test drive right there from the show. I'm glad you said Buick because there's been a lot of commercials on radio and television about the Buick and how a Buick can really fit into your lifestyle and now they can walk by it at the Charlotte International Show and say, "That's the car we've seen on TV, that's the vehicle and they can physically touch it now." Well and we've talked a lot and talked a little fun at ourselves with the the entire line of commercials of that to Buick and truly it's their vehicles that appeal to a very broad range of individuals. I mean I am in kind of that high end of the millennial set if you will and I don't think that we built every Buick that we built I would love to own frankly. Everything from the full-size crossover to the Buick Enclave which is really just kind of a luxurious nice family hauler right on down to our luxurious compact Buick Verano and everything in between we've got a Buick Regal Grand Sport kind of a throwback to our to our heritage that people wouldn't think of as being kind of a sports sedan in the Buick lineup or Buick having a sports sedan in the lineup and yet we do and it sells tremendously well particularly with the Grand Sport package for us. You can get hands on with that vehicle you can learn more about it from the show floor really take a look at it and and experience Buick. Is there a space car for George Jetson yet because you know Chevy will be the one that'll invent that car. Well I appreciate that we don't have the flying car my guess is that that's that's a way out what we do have are those some of those semi autonomous features like collision pre-collision automatic braking we've got great paths of safety systems and active safety systems everything from forward collision alert rear cross traffic alert lane departure warning lane keep assist now where the vehicle will actually hold you into the lane if you start to veer off. A lot of the safety systems are tied to in the case of our full size SUVs and some of our smaller some of our stands are is what we refer to as a safety alert seat and literally the seat will give you haptic feedback from other active safety systems so let's say you're drifting out of your lane to the left well the left bolster of your seat will vibrate to alert you to that so in vehicle so equipped so it's possible to you know sometimes ignore the auditory or the visual cues that those systems will give you trust me there is no ignoring the fact that your seat's vibrating against you. I love the way that that Chevy and Buick and everybody is so in touch with our safety I mean really because when you sit in that car and you experience it there there really is a connection and then that relationship goes with the people that create it as well as the people that take care of it after you purchase it. Well you know I have the great pleasure of talking about our cars but we have a lot of hard working men and women engineers at work designing and engineering the next generation of vehicles right and we all have families and safety is a prime thing for all of our customers as well as us as drivers of these vehicles. It's really got to be at the center of everything we do and so that's why in regards to the Chevrolet lineup whether you're looking at a $13,000 Chevrolet spark which is our mini car or a $100,000 Corvette Z06 which is on display by the way at the Charlotte Convention Center all through that lineup you will find great safety technologies in the case of that spark I mean it's a 10 standard airbags it's got great accolades and awards from IAHS and HDSA it's amazing where you find you know this this these great number of safety technologies being employed they truly are mainstream now and not relegated to the the most expensive for only four luxury cars. When you go to the Charlotte International Auto Show what it is it's it's like playing show and tell isn't it it's like we have this new thing and we just want to show it off and and there's because sometimes people they think cars okay I'm gonna be pressurized never once at the Charlotte International Auto Show that I feel pressured I just felt like exploring everything. Oh yeah I mean that's true of us and I'm sure it's true of others you know the show is not about sales they don't know it's a dealership experience and I tell cars directly from the the floor what it is is a great opportunity to learn and learn under a solid roof it looks like the weather is going to be fairly good here this weekend but obviously being able to be indoors and not have to walk around a lot is a great opportunity for folks to come out and really see everything that the industry is doing. And you have to come prepared because it's six football fields of automobiles six dude that's a lot of cars. Oh yeah oh no no we're tennis shoes are uncomfortable. The Charlotte International Auto Show has it all you want cars we've got hundreds of them you want trucks come take your pick SUVs classic cars one of the kinds check check and check again you see you want something for the kids how about face painting clowns and of course Santa and Mrs. Claus you want it all we've got it all at the Charlotte International Auto Show going on now at the Charlotte Convention Center for tickets and more details visit charlotteautoshow.com breaking news and this one is almost unbelievable yeah it's all about new customers at bet 365 because they get one hundred and fifty dollars in bonus bets when they bet five dollars and even better bonus bets can be used on the spread totals and player props there you have it bet five dollars to get one hundred and fifty dollars in bonus bets and see why it's never ordinary at bet 365 gambling problem caller text 1 800 gambler 21 plus only must be physically located in Colorado terms and conditions apply how do you feel when you switch to Geico and save on your car insurance it's like going to work on one Thursday morning and thinking to yourself just one more day until Friday but then somebody in the elevator says happy friday then you check your phone quickly and discover today is actually friday so yes happy friday random stranger in the elevator happy friday indeed yep switching and saving with geico feels just like that get more with geico
