Mom, Dad, I humbly suggest you save some money and shop Amazon for back to school. It's for my growth, meaning my body's growing at an alarming rate. And clothes you buy me this year will be very small, very soon. Plus, the clothes I love today will be out of style tomorrow. But at least your wallet doesn't have to be my fashion victim. A few shop low prices for school at Amazon. Hopefully this is helpful. Amazon, spin less, smile more. ♪ It's the moment of the evening every kiss stays thin and joys. ♪ ♪ Little down and board a whiskey, crack open a liqueur. ♪ ♪ Please put your hands together and make a little noise. ♪ ♪ For your favorite wildcatters, the handsome Bosco boys. ♪ ♪ Ooh, Bosco's boys. ♪ ♪ Come on, boys. ♪ Boom, the boys are back and it's time for another episode. Getting closer wrapping up the month of June, we got a concept. We've done a couple times called "Hot Take" or "Not a Take." So I ask for all your guys' takes on college sports or case state or anything in general. We got a little bit of everything. I'll talk about them. I will determine if I think that's a hot take, a mild take, not a take at all. I'll just talk about them, but it's always interesting to hear your guys' thoughts on the state of case state, college sports, the world. I have this show. You guys know exactly where I stand. So I always enjoy getting these episodes where we're getting a little bit of, you know, interaction with everyone. Before we get things going, I want to start talking about our friends over at Manhattan Brewing Company. We'll talk about Charlie Hussle a little bit later, but Manhattan Brewing Company is partnering up with Wildcat NIL, Aggieville Brewing Company, and CGN Advisors this Saturday, Saturday, June 29th, for a patio party on points. There's going to be parking all throughout points. It's going to be at 512 Points Avenue, number 120 in Manhattan, Kansas. It's the parking lot right next to CGN Advisors, and again, that's a whole day event, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. There's going to be food and drink vendors, including Manhattan Brewing Company at the event all day, live music and a DJ throughout the day. There's going to be raffle items every one to two hours, all sorts of yard games, dunk tank where you can pay to dunk athletes in coaches, and then you're going to see athletes, coaches and administrators from K-State football and men's basketball, and who knows what else will happen. So it's a free event, obviously go there and pay for some food and drink. Check out our friends, Manhattan Brewing Company. They always have some great beers going on. They're always doing some of the most fun events as well. You guys know how much we love Manhattan Brewing Company. Obviously, if you live in the state of Kansas, talk to your local liquor store. Tell them, hey, we want Manhattan Brewing Company here. They want to sell you the four packs, just, hey, tell them you want it to distribute throughout the entire state. As you guys are listening this Thursday, they're going to have the lazy pirate Mango New England IPA beer release, and there's going to be trivia at seven. Jam and Jamaican food will be there at 6 p.m. Friday, drinking buddies with radius brewery at 4 p.m., smoke and H will be slinging out some barbecue at five, and then root down will be playing at 6 p.m. All going on at the alley over there at Manhattan Brewing Company. Of course, we just talked about that patio party with Wildcat and IL Aggieville Brewing Company and CGN Advisors on Saturday. Be sure to get out there, be sure to talk to your local liquor store so you can get Manhattan Brewing Company in your hometown, and make sure you're following them on social media. Otherwise, you're going to be running the risk of missing some of these fun events and different beer releases. Manhattan Brewing Company, truly the best there is. Now let's get into your guys' takes. We're going to start off one that was submitted in the DM so shout out to my guy Caleb saying it's straight to the DM's, everything else was tweeted out. Of course, make sure you're following Bosca's boys on Twitter so you can participate. His hot take. I don't care if the NCAA basketball tournament expands. As long as they keep the 64 team bracket, they can throw in as many playing games as they want. I also think bubble teams should have to play in the playing games and not a conference tournament champion. All right, so there's a handful of these. First off, I think for the general public, I think for the most part, a lot of people agree. They don't really care that much about expanding. I see some folks getting up in arms, and I'm one of the people who is a little bit up in arms. Anyone who likes the exclusivity of postseason play, I like that it's not watered down. I love the 64. Now, I have to give a shout out to Jimmy Goheen, aka KSU_fan. He has been someone who has really kind of hammered away at me and made me soften my stance about increasing it. And I think I'm closer to where you are. I think, you know, going up to 72 or 78 teams, like that's fine. Ultimately, I agree with you. I think that if you win your conference tournament, you should be in. I don't think that 16 seeds should have to be playing in. I definitely don't think 15 seeds should have to be playing in. I'm there with you. I think if you are one of the final at-large seeds, go to Dayton. Or if they're expanding this, give us a West Coast play in, so hey, you've got, you know, if you're playing on the east of the Mississippi, you know, for your opening round games, you're going to Dayton. If you're playing west of the Mississippi, hell, I would love Kansas City to get that. I doubt they would. I think they'd probably go west coast, so true TV could get some extra games so you'd be having, you know, a double, you'd have double header out and Dayton and then probably like, I don't know, San Jose. I mean, I think a place like Las Vegas would do well because people are heading out there for the first week of the NCAA tournament as is, you know, it's a later time. So have Dayton and have Las Vegas and basically what the 12s and 11s seeds all playing in, I'd be okay with that. So ultimately, I think, you know, on a hot take scale, I think everything packaged together all together, I think that's maybe a four and a half. You know, it's not that hot, but, you know, there's a little spice, there's a little kick, all in all, I tend to be evolving towards that take. I really like the, hey, you win a conference championship, you don't have to play in. All right, we got Lon Ruger, K-State needs a live mascot that runs out with the team. You guys, that's the first part, but you guys know me. That's not a take it all. I am all on board with that. I love it. This is where I think things get scalding hot, like a seven. He would prefer it to be a house cat just running along the field. First off, no, you can't train a house cat. Second off, you really think you're going to be able to get control of that thing once it's running out with the team? No. You guys know me. Bring back Bosco. I want a good boy running along. Bring back a nice black lab, chocolate lab, whatever, give me a dog. So live mascot, not take it all. Great. Everyone agrees. It having to be a house cat? No, that's scalding. That's like a nine right there. We got Paracat Ryan for the 10th straight season. K-State will not have a thousand yard receiver. I agree with this. I think a lot of folks though would say this is a bit of a hot take. They shouldn't. They shouldn't. I think if you pulled the regular K-State fan out on Twitter, I think a lot of them would say no, this is a seven. This is hot. I think this is a three. I think Jake Brown maybe has the best shot at it because he's going to be a target that Avery's really wanting to go after. I think some folks are wanting to see Keegan Johnson emerge. I think some folks are hoping we see the Dante Seifas that was at Kent State. I don't see it. I do not see it at all. So I think this is like a three and a half, maybe a two, two and a half, three somewhere in there. I don't think it's a hot take at all. I agree with you. This is where things get interesting. He follows it up by saying in 2024, K-State will have five players with 500 or more. Now this is interesting. Now this is interesting. I think this is more at a six. I think this is a six and a half, a six point nine maybe. Look, I think you're going to see Jake Brown go over 500. I think you're going to see Dante Seifas go over over 500. I think Keegan Johnson is going to be close. After that, can you get, he said five players? Okay. So then after that, you get those three top receivers. You get those guys. Is Jayden Jackson going to get there? I don't know. I don't think so. Is Dylan Edwards going to get there? Maybe. I mean, DJ Giddens had to be close to 500 if not surpassing 500 last year. No, I think he was in the 300s last year. And then Garrett Oakley, I think Garrett Oakley has a shot to get there. I think that's spicier, maybe even higher, maybe that might be an eight. That might be an eight. But I would prefer that. I mean, I would love to see five guys with 500 or more receiving yards. I would love that. Sign me up for that. KSU underscore fan. We mentioned him earlier. He says Robo-Umpz to Major League Baseball now could not agree more, especially for the strike zone, especially for the strike zone. Now I could listen to some purists. So I'm calling this like a three. This is not hot at all. I probably because I keep saying three and seven, I should probably just saying not hot, mild and hot. I should probably just have those things. This is not hot at all. But I totally and I totally agree. Now I understand with some of the baseball purists who would say, Hey, that takes away so much from having a good catcher who's able to frame pitches and oh, it takes away from a good pitcher who's who's able to have different spin rates and have it and have it drop right before it gets to the strike zone and it's playing with the umpire. That's part of the game. I understand that. I understand the gamesmanship. I understand the human element on some of these judgment calls behind the plate, even though they're not supposed to be there's a defined strike zone. But I think it would be better for baseball as a whole to have the eagle eye technology that you see in baseball or whatever technology that you need to have that set up and you just get a little buzz for a strike or nothing for a ball. And then the umpires just relaying what the technology says. I think you still need guys out there to make the calls. I think for the most part, the challenge system in baseball is I mean, what I say, I would almost maybe even say the challenge system in baseball is the best of all the major sports. I think it's usually relatively quick. I think they usually get it right. You can't say that for VAR and soccer. Oh, I mean, there's a controversial call almost every single game in football. So I'm right there, it's a mild or it's a cold take, not a take, whatever, not spicy at all. But I agree with you. I am all for Robo-Ump's. Next one we got from our guy, Mark, always a superstar when it comes to participation. One of my favorite people to be DMing with, he has quite a few and I love him. Love him all and we'll start with it. I probably won't be talking about how great Mark is, again, at least not this episode, but shout out to Mark, always great to have conversations with him. The first one is sitting in the upper deck of Bill Snyder Family Stadium is better from a pure football watching standpoint to see plays develop. I agree with this. For me personally, mild, we'll go mild, medium high. I think that's mild. I agree with you. I think some casuals may disagree, but here's the thing, you're up there. You are seeing the play develop and I harken back to going to Kansas City Chiefs games with my parents and they were in the upper deck there in the 300s in Arrowhead and you were able to see things come across. You could see a wide receiver streaking down the sideline wide open and then you're pointing it out as the play is developing. I think that if you are a football junkie, you are wanting to watch stuff develop. Being up there, maybe like in the first row of the upper deck, that's great. If you love blocking concepts and watching defenses line up, I think probably the best spot is the Shamrock zone right there on the sideline or at the very top row of the North end zone GA and really being able to see those blocking concepts, the polling, the chipping zone blocking, seeing how defenses are lining up, getting that old 22 view, I think so. Now, I enjoy getting more of the atmosphere and still seeing some of that. So I'm in Row 39 on the west side. I won't tell you guys exactly what section I am in. I'm pretty sure I've said it before, but I enjoy getting that atmosphere, having the students and bands kind of projecting the noise out to me, being behind the K-State bench, getting to take in that atmosphere, being high enough that you can see some of that from the side profile. But I think that's a mild take. I think that's a good take. That's the one spot I haven't watched a game from as the upper deck. Well, that's not true. I've been in the East Club. I've been up and down the East sideline from when I was a student, I had season tickets down there. I used to get single game tickets in the corners back when I was a high schooler, but I was going with some of my friends. I had season tickets in the south in zone for a while. I've sat in the old GA in the north, not the new GA, and I've set a few spots on the west side. Haven't seen a game from the west side stadium center. Haven't seen a game from the shamrock. If anyone wants to hit me up, especially for the Oklahoma State game, if anyone wants to hook me up with some shamrock tickets or a west stadium center, please slide into the DMs. But I like that take from Mark. Here's Mike Murray KS for football pregame. It is never going to hit a crescendo it used to, unless someone starts hitting somebody or we try something new. Mild take, totally agree with you. The kids nowadays are never going to know. The kids nowadays are never going to know that dopamine, that rush of energy to see Willy just spearing a guy. Now he comes out on the back of a gator. No, no, no. The timing of pregame is off. I like the band. I like the multiple hype videos. I like so much of it, but the timing is so off. Sometimes you don't get the full video because the team is ready to come on. Sometimes you're waiting for 15 to 30 seconds for them to show who's opening the door. Everything, the timing of everything is off and I think if they brought back the skit or at least brought some pageantry to Willy coming out, that would be awesome. Something I've been saying for a while, I think that they should do. I think you should have someone running out there, opposing team jersey, all that type of stuff. And then you have Willy coming out to Triple H's, it's all about the game. Team music hit that glass shatter, boom, it's all about the game. Then he comes running out with a prop sledgehammer and just hits the dude with the sledgehammer. That's how I would start it. But I do think they need to change a couple of things because timing just seems off. So I'm right there with you, Mike. Back to Mark. Basketball going all in on top 15 players like Big Pat is great. But when there is no backup plan, it doesn't work out. It puts too much pressure on the transfer portal and ultimately doesn't seem sustainable. Continuity still matters in the transfer portal era. For the most part, I'm giving this a hot. This is truly a hot take from Mark. And I disagree with it as well. I think this is a hot take because we've seen in college basketball, the transfer portal rules everything. If you are not getting the upper, upper end, I don't think you should be touching anything that isn't a top 50 kid unless you have an in state thing or it's a legacy or there's something else at play, you should not be touching any high school basketball recruit that isn't in the top 50. You can still build continuity by taking underclassmen in the portal and developing them through the portal and taking projects through the portal. But there is no use taking an 18 year old college basketball player that you have no idea what they can do at the college level and then they just end up transferring as is. If you're getting someone after their first stop, they're going into things much more sober, much more open eyed, it is a different recruitment and they're looking for something else. You aren't trying to woo these players. It is much more business like when you're going after people like Bayfall. You got Bayfall in the fold, his high school recruitment probably costs more NIL money and probably costs more energy. It probably was a much more draining thing and then you get them on the bounce back. Hey, he still doesn't show him what you can do in college. You're still going to have to develop him. He's still going to be a multi year player creating that continuity. David Gasson, this is about to be his third year in the program. You can still get that continuity through the transfer portal. I just, I think it is a waste of time and resources to go after anyone outside of the top 50 in college basketball for high school recruiting. Folks might disagree. Hell, Jerome Tang might disagree, but that's where I am on that one. We've got the good chef Andre Napier. If the world of college football keeps changing with the team's forming super conferences, Big Ten and SEC eventually taking over, I'd like to see relegation promotion. First off, what you'd like to see, I mean, that was more of an opinion than a take. If you were predicting that it was going to happen, I would say that is a hot take. Just saying you'd like to see it, I don't think that is that hot of a take at all. I, I do think that in a world of college football, if we're going to go to this kind of two team super conference type thing, I, I think it will just be those two. I think there will be a separation and I, I'd be fine with some sort of promotion relegation. But here's the thing, the actual programs would never sign up for it. The TV networks would never sign up for it because you then bring, you know, unsure, you know, you're bringing uncertainty to the television revenue. You bring in uncertainty to television matchups, it, it will never happen. It will never happen in college sports. But I agree with you. I think the concept could be cool. I think the concept sort of worked better, you know, with the power five and group of five, you know, everyone, you know, everyone's, you know, chalked it up. It's like, okay, you know, if you windy American, you, you move into the big 12, and if you're finished last on the big 12, you're down the American Sunbelled SEC Conference USA ACC. G, Mac and Big Ten and Mountain West in the pack 12, the old pack 12. That would have been a lot of fun. It gives incentives. It gives stuff to like say, hey, got to stay out of the basement. It's never going to happen though, but I would like it. That's fine. We got baller status cat. The midweek live Bosca's boys show is the greatest segment to ever grace email land. That's flaming hot. That's one of the hottest takes we've had so far because here's the thing. Um, participation cut down pretty big and part of that had to do with, of course, changing the platform of which we would do lives, um, but participation cut pretty deep and it was, it's back in the, when it was part of the five episode a week, um, and we're still going to stay five episodes a week, but anytime you'd have multiple episodes, the live show would always do the worst. Now I enjoyed participating, um, especially if we had a full house. It was awesome. But, uh, as we kept having to hop from different platforms because stuff was shutting down, um, a couple of other shows, all the power to them, they started their own concept. So then you lost some regulars going to their show and they were participants and then they're doing their own thing. Um, so participation down downloads down, uh, so no one agrees with you, Justin. So I, I do appreciate your love for it. We got Manhattan hell next until the purple stickers matches the uniforms better and they switch to a white face mask. The white helmets aren't that good. Um, that's a super hot take and there's a couple reasons why. First, you're never going to get these stickers to match to the jersey. You would need the jersey to match to the stickers, although it is true, but here's the thing. They also don't match on the silver. They don't match back to the purple jersey. That's a white helmet problem. That is just a jersey problem and that's not going dark enough on the jerseys. Second off, the white face mask, I could not disagree more. And that's because on the white jerseys and hell, even on the purple jerseys, you have silver, uh, accenting on the shoulder stripes. So if you only have, I, I am very, very, um, particular, I do not like isolated colors on football, uniform concepts. So if you're going to have the silver accenting on the jerseys, you need to have silver represented somewhere else on the jersey. So if you got rid of the gray silver face mask, then you're isolating the purple or the silver on the jersey, both for the purple and the white jerseys. If you then, if you got rid of that, if you had a special jersey that matched back to the white pants and back to the white helmet, then I could get on board with that. I know this is a very niche thing and people might disagree with me, but I think that the jersey, I think everything would look off. If you went to a white, uh, face mask to pair with, uh, the current jerseys as is. So super hot take back to the takes, uh, next one from Mark basketball student section was better when the students hit the whoosh KSC after I made free throw, uh, mild take. Uh, I think we all think that things are better, uh, back when we're students. I think it is so dumb that they do the row, the boat or the arm motion things have clapping to wobash. Um, they, they don't know, you know, when the, when that hits, uh, there was no reaction when they tried to bring that back for volleyball and basketball. Um, they don't crowd surf kids anymore after touchdowns, um, lots of fun stuff that used to happen back when we were students, um, that's gone away. And I think everyone thinks the student section was at its peak when they were in school, but I agree that the whoosh KSU, I, I missed that after free throws. They do the bounce clap thing, uh, when, when the player gets the ball, I mean, that's okay. Uh, that's a mild take, but I agree with you, uh, Bob Trollsby playing one throwback game a year in a hern during non-conference says, I mean, horrible phrasing, like put together an actual tweet, use punctuation, have capital words, Bob Trollsby, um, general public would say this is mild take, I think general public, I think most folks would, uh, say this is a, uh, great thing and it should happen. I think it's an absolute hot take, uh, it's unrealistic, um, in a world where money isn't an option and someone renovates Bramley, or, uh, a hern up to the standard and up to the code, uh, to be able to host games. Okay. Fine. In that dream land world, okay, cool. But it has not been viable to play basketball games there and really in well over 25 years. I would imagine very shortly after they got out of there, it was like, all right, we needed to get out of here because, uh, we, we, we were testing things. Honestly, it's a crime they kept playing volleyball there as long as they did. It was a decrepit old building, no air conditioning, honestly a dangerous building to be in for a sporting event, um, and there's no viable real world reason that K-State should do this. I understand, uh, the nostalgia for the olds and some young people have been brainwashed into thinking that a hern was some magical building, um, when it wasn't, um, the same people who, who act like a hern is some holy grail or the same ones who call Allen Fieldhouse a piss barn. So look, I, I, I could not, that, that is the probably top five and we're going to get to one of the things that I hate the most, uh, one of the top five things I hate most about K-State fans is this weird obsession of trying to get one more game in a hern. So, um, I think it's a scalding hot take, but I'm in the minority. So I think most folks would call that a mild take. Here's another one. I think is a hot take. He has said this one to me before, he thinks all free throws, uh, should be one attempt, no matter the situation. If it's an and one, one free throw, it's worth one point. If it's a two point shooting foul, one free throw worth two points. If it's a three point shot, one free throw verse for three could not disagree harder. This is a scalding hot take. I absolutely hate it. Absolutely hate it. I don't hate though, it's Charlie Hustle, folks, they just dropped the remaining pieces of their K-State big eight road show. Don't worry. There's some more stuff coming a little bit closer to football season, but I'm currently rocking my comparable championship t-shirt. They have the 1977 big eight basketball championship t-shirt. They have their ringer shirt, their 1960s pop inspired t-shirt, and then on Friday, they are dropping their latest of the K-State bomber jackets. Head over to BoscoAsBoys.com or going to be, or not.com, excuse me, BoscoAsBoys Twitter account. And we are giving away a jacket to someone who participates, retweet, follow us, Charlie Hustle. You can reply to the tweet for a bonus entry, Charlie Hustle vintage made fresh. The big eight road show, absolutely amazing. I loved it. All right. Blake next, K-State would not have Avery Johnson or Coleman Hawkins right now without John Curry being a fundraising asshole. I think this is a hot take. I think this is a hot take. Now, John Curry was very good at fundraising. He started a lot of this, you know, the ice basketball training facility was done under John Curry, the west side was done under John Curry. Some other smaller projects done under John Curry. I can't remember if he was North Enzone Project or if that was Gene. I can't quite remember. I disagree. First off, Gene Taylor did a ton of great fundraising projects, and I imagine even if John Curry didn't do everything that he got done as a fundraiser, I don't think I think Gene would have gotten some of it done. The next thing is, even if he wasn't as good as he was, I think you still would have seen some of those facility projects got done. I think him being more of a, you know, like saying, hey, no, we need to balance the spread sheets type of guy. I think that was even more important, you know, right sizing the spending based on the revenue that we were bringing in. I think that was the best thing, honestly, that John Curry did even more than the fundraising because Gene Taylor kept that going, making sure that the budget is balanced. So I think that's a mild take because I think even if John Curry wasn't a, you know, a top tier fundraiser, I still think a lot of those building projects get done. I still think that K-State, without that fundraising, he was good with the spread sheets, good with the budgeting. I still think that K-State name image likeness could be in a situation where they could have gotten those players. So I'm calling that a mild take. Next, we got Ace Edwards from the Aggieville alley cats. People are setting their expectations far too high in Avery's first full season as it started by expecting him to be all conference. Is he capable of it? Absolutely. He has the talent for it. He also has a young offensive team with a year one OC. He'll be good, not a savior. I'll call this a medium take, mainly because, look, I guess if you're saying first team or second team, all conference, big 12, maybe, but I would bet a ton of money. He is getting at least honorable mention honors and look, I mean, we've seen quarterbacks have, we've seen less talented quarterbacks with young teams around them have big seasons before. And I think the young offense around him is a little bit overblown. Look at how old the offensive line is going to be. Of course, you're not bringing back a million starts, but you're bringing back a lot of age and a lot of time in the game of college football. Bring in Dante Seifus and Keegan Johnson, both of them are in their early 20s when you're talking about age. You have Jase Brown in his second year of a contributor. You have DJ Giddens who this time next year is going to be preparing for an NFL training camp. You got Dylan Edwards who's in his second year of college football. So I think some of, I think you're overblowing some of it. Also again, I understand the idea of, hey, this is the first year, Connor Riley's being an offensive coordinator, but he's been at K state since 2019. He's been here the entire time. You have Matt Wells, who's been an OC at multiple stops. He's been a head coach. You have plenty of experience in the coaching room with him as well. So I'm calling that a medium take mainly because, look, it's a 16 team league. There are, there's some very good quarterbacks, but, but I, I, I think you're overblowing things a little bit. I think you're over correcting because you are seeing the excitement as being too much hype. So I think you're over correcting their just a teensy bit. The next one from the good chef, Andre Napier, chain games or gangs are obsolete and archaic practice in an era of advanced technology should be replaced. Practically, not to take it all. Practically I agree with you. There should be a technology to better spot the ball, better measure, first downs, all that type of stuff, practically, pageantry, entertainment, drama, all that type of stuff, hot tank. There is nothing more dramatic, nothing more exciting than a fourth down play. Oh my gosh, did they pick it up and these big old dudes are trotting out there with the chain, they're stretching it out. It's the, it's the cinema, absolute cinema holding your breath and he get it, did he not get it? Ah, you sure. Can you stay, Paul? No, the, the, the entertainment value out of that is unmatched. Practically I agree with you, but man, those handful of times of season, you have a dramatic chain measure on a fourth down, completely changing the game, just holding your breath. Oh, it's a chain link. Oh, no, I, I, I would be sad. I will be sad the day they get rid of chain gangs. The next one, case dates helmet would look better if we had helmet stickers. Oh, I think, I, I, I, this is a, this is a mild take because it depends. It depends on how you go about it. Um, I've long thought that, uh, some helmet stickers could be okay. Now, I, I think that if you go like the Michigan route, no, God, I'm actually, I think, I think I'm going for, I think I'm going for, I'm staying with a medium, but look, I, I think what I would like to do, if you're going to do this, I think it should be very, very small. I think you should be able to have a varsity K at the crown of your helmet, um, you know, right at the, at the top, um, it's not the top at the forward. So, you know, above the, the helmet bumper, I think you should have a varsity K if you are a varsity athlete. So, after you earned your first varsity letter for K state, um, I think you should get something on your helmet if you graduate, um, in, in some stuff, but man, I, I look at what Michigan does and it, and they have a full helmet concept, right? They have a full helmet, you know, they have that weird, uh, I don't even know that just the Michigan, and it flares out and then the entire helmet's being taken over by helmet stickers. No, it's too much. Um, Ohio State, look, they don't have a logo on it. That is part of the, the look of their helmet. Um, so it works, but I just think if you're going to do it, it has to be small. The second kind of starts creeping beyond, you know, like two, two fingers, three fingers on the back of the helmet, um, all of a sudden it is getting too busy, too close to the power cat. So I'm going for a medium take, uh, cause I think there's a way you can do it small, small little helmet stickers, um, pride stickers, whatever you want to call them, um, swagger stickers. I, I think that you can do that in a small way and it could add to the helmet, but too much of it, it would get too busy. So there it is. There it is, chef. Take it or leave it. Um, next one from Mark, this is the one I hate the most, um, case states should find a way to add softball and wrestling. Kansas has too much talent in those sports, not to offer them flaming hot take, flaming hot take. And there's something later on in here that would make it less of a hot take. But I, the idea of Kansas having a ton of division one wrestlers, I think is a little overblown. Um, I think if you go through all the rosters, I don't think there's that many. I think there's a, a few, uh, and I think it's overblown because it's the idea of case states brought in a handful of football players who had the opportunity to go wrestle elsewhere. I don't think there's that many and even softball, I understand that maybe the best player in the, in the country was a Kansas player. And there's a couple of them that are really good, but just look at KU softball, KU softball is absolute garbage, garbage, one of the worst programs in the big 12, absolute trash. They're not getting any of these elite Kansas kids. They're not competing in softball. They are horrible in softball, horrible, horrible, horrible, they are so bad at softball. So I, I could not disagree more. Everyone would be saying the same thing they'd be saying, Oh, why do we add softball? Can, you know, Kansas City has all this soccer talent. We probably share that in soccer as we're six years deep into being the absolute worst softball program in the big 12. Um, no, I, I, no, we should not be adding sports and look, if you replaced soccer with softball or, uh, you know, that, that probably comparable costs, um, but you, you'd be dog shit in one of them or the other, um, you know, tennis, golf, track and field, uh, rowing all way cheaper to put on than softball. No, I'm sorry. No, I'm sorry. That is scalding hot take again. People might disagree with me. I might be in the minority there, but no, no. That's one from Joel cheese other than queso and brie should only be served cold. I mean, sure. I mean, what, what about like on a cheeseburger? What about on a chicken parm? I'm calling this a scalding hot take. This is a hot take there. I mean, I want cheese, you know, melted on enchiladas, you know, on a hot sub sandwich. No, I think this is a scalding hot take scalding hot take. Now, I think you've followed it up by saying, Oh, charcuterie, you know, once it gets room temperature, you got to get rid of it. I mean, okay, that's food safety, I guess, but no, I, I like melty cooked cheese. Um, and since you threw in brie and queso as a, uh, as like saying, Oh no, these are fine. No, I, I think this is a scalding hot take scalding hot Joel scalding. Um, like if you like, cause, cause again, if you're just talking about like, Oh, on a party tray of cheese with some cured meat, of course, no one's going to disagree. I mean, that's not a take it all. But, but again, you know, cheeseburgers, enchiladas, talk, basically all the food that you put cheese into except for salads. No, that's a scalding hot take scalding hot take Joel. Um, this one, not scalding hot. I agree with you. I think this is a mild take UCF will finish top five in the big 12 this year and then be a top three team moving forward. Yeah. I, that's a mild take. I agree. I think UCF is going to finish top five this year. I think moving forward, they may be the threat. I think UCF and Qston have infinite amount of, uh, potential in the big 12. Um, you know, I think they both have good coaches. They both have fertile, um, recruiting around. I think UCF has a head start because they have far more recent, uh, history of high end success, um, in their, I mean, massive school, both, both of them are massive schools. Um, I, I agree with that. I think UCF, you know, if the big 12 in college football is still what we think it's going to be, if it resembles what it currently is 10 years from now, I think UCF is going to be a year in year out contender. So that's a mild take. I'm right there with you, Joe, Joe, uh, Cody is earned. This is also a mild take. I agree with him. John Hubert is one of the most underrated players in case state history. We talked about short running back you, uh, you, uh, he was five, seven, almost 3000 yard rushing seasons, third all time rushing and never talked about. I think Hammond and Daniel Thomas both are so criminally underrated. Um, and again, you have two of the all time greats, uh, Darren Sproles and, uh, Deuce Vaughn, both of them short. They overshadow John Hubert when you want to talk about short guys. But again, his longevity, um, being on some very good teams. I agree with you. I, I, I do think those two running backs are the two most underrated football players in case history right now, I used to be Jonathan Beasley, but that became such a cool answer. I almost think that the case state football fandom is over corrected on Jonathan Beasley. So, uh, there's that fist of fist of her Columbus. Um, Taylor Swift looks like a skinny banner shut up Taylor Swift's hot shut up. You're not cool. Uh, we got Brian. There is more anticipation slash expectation about Casey sports across the board in a decade. I disagree. I disagree. I think that there was higher expectations coming into last season. Uh, everyone was saying case it was going to get back to Arlington. You're riding high after an elite eight, uh, you knew Gabby, uh, yeah, Gabby Gregory and a local league coming back, cause again, Gabby Gregory was coming off a borderline all American season herself, the hype around case state women's basketball was super high. Um, so I, I think that there's going to be a lot of hype around case state women's basketball, but I think it's going to be slightly muted. I think there's a lot of hype around case state football. But compared to last year, I think it's slightly muted. I think basketball may be equal, um, maybe even a smidge higher, but I, I don't think so baseball. There shouldn't be any hype you're, you're turning over your entire team. There's probably a little bit more hype around volleyball, but how much extra hype around volleyball can that really lift things up? Uh, there should be no hype around soccer. No one's following rowing. No one's following golf tennis, uh, track and field. So I, I disagree. I think that's a hot take because I think it was hired just last year. Um, we got Ethan next in life. People change their opinions too quickly, um, mild take. I agree. I think, I don't know, I think it depends on who you're around. You're young. You're young. Uh, kids are probably a little bit more swayable. I think the older you get, the more entrenched in your opinions you get. So I'm going to say that it's a medium and I think it's all about, you know, your age and who you're surrounding yourself with. Cause I think at least where I am, uh, and most of my peers, most of the people I talk to, friends and family, I think they're pretty entrenched and they don't change their opinions quite, uh, quite as much, but I'm old, I'm old, you're young, you're like 21, 22. So yeah, kids probably changed their minds a little bit too quickly, but I think that's part of growing up. So we went on a journey there. Uh, we got Lucas, the young bucks on the football team will overpower the equipment staff and we will wear the all whites, not once, but twice a season scalding hot take. I think you might see it once on the road and I think maybe you'll see white helmets and white pants once at home, maybe, maybe, so I think that's a scalding hot take. Cause, uh, I don't think you will see all whites, so white helmet, white jerseys, white pants twice. I'd like to see it, but I'm going with, uh, scalding hot. Another one from Ethan. Star ratings mean a lot more than fans care to believe. I think that depends on your fan base. I'm going to give that a mild take, uh, they're a great indicator of NFL projections. It's true on the flip side, not enough people understand how long the evaluation process takes place. It's also true. That's kind of mild cross. I agree for the most part. We got Zach revenue sharing for athletes should match what you pay an associate professor. Leave NIL as is. Oh God. I mean, I, I don't see anything inherently wrong with that take. I mean, I guess probably a mild take, um, look, I, NIL, it's not NIL. It's pay for play from outside entities. Once you get to profit sharing and schools paying, you know, out 22 million, 20 to 22 million out to players, it'll be interesting to see how things go. Um, it is going to completely change the dynamic and NIL, I don't think is going to go anywhere. I think you're going to have a hard time legislating that because even if it gets back to, Hey, it has to be brand deals. Okay. Uh, you're going to have Houston and all these big cities being able to have companies who are, who are doing these NIL deals that kind of mirror a little bit closer to what things were supposed to be. I think things are going to get messy. So I mean, whatever, like, okay, you're going to pay, I googled it. Like associate professors are making 80,000, at least according to a Google search on average. Okay. I mean, sure, sure, are you giving those to all the athletes? Just football men's basketball? I mean, I don't know. I don't know. I do not know what the future of college athletics is going to hold. I'm very afraid for what the future is going to hold. I, I'm very scared that I'm going to really, I'm scared it's going to turn into club sports, just being leased out of power cat in the stadiums, but we'll see, we'll see the cat attack podcast. The chief's reaction will be more complicated than anticipated. The process of building a steam will take longer than expected. No, that's a flaming hot take. If the chiefs were to decide that they want to come to Kansas, that is the, no, that would not happen. Again, you have to go through the design process in the building, the building of it's going to take two years, but their lease at Arrowhead, I believe, runs through the 2031 stadium. So again, I guess if people think that they're going to be, you know, on the Kansas side by 2028, okay, sure, but no, it is not going to be more complicated than take longer than people are anticipating. No. And then he says also because of unforeseen circumstances, the chiefs will play one game in Manhattan, Lawrence in Columbia to honor the Kansas City area of college towns. No, that would never happen. You and I had a back and forth. It could be cool, but that's not going to happen. Ethan, in an argument when people say it's not even close as the ending line totally undermines the argument. And it's not even close. Oh, I sometimes say that. Maybe I need to stop. I got nothing there. I got nothing there. I got Zach, case it should add wrestling and hockey and drop deadweight sports from the budget or move them to club sports. No, look, this is a flaming hot take. Look, case state is operating outside of football and men's basketball and maybe women's basketball and baseball to an extent, maybe volleyball a little bit. But there is no deadweight. They don't have case state does not have the revenue case state does not have the donor appetite to do something like this. And then here's the other thing. I'm assuming you're talking about men's sports. You can't add to men's sports without adding the corresponding amount of women's sports. So you're talking about adding four because I mean, it's not going to happen because those would be more expensive and the scholarship count was higher than golf. I mean, are we getting rid of track and field? What's the deadweight for men's sports baseball? I mean, people seem to like baseball right now. Not feasible at all. We got three more left. We got two from Ethan and one from Zach and then we're going to call it a day. Nofafita is the most slept on player in college football. Medium take. I mean, I think there's other players throughout college football that prior getting the recognition. But Nofafita, he's the real deal. So that's good. And I also should be reserved for non-power for schools. That's just illegal. Some of you guys have been suggesting stuff that's just not legal. So that's a flaming hot take for Ethan to end things up. And then the final one is West Virginia is the Texas Tech of this year. Tough early schedule and will stumble to seven and five inside being preseason darlings. I haven't seen West Virginia talked about as a preseason darling. Nowhere near the level Texas Tech was. So I think you're making a false equivalency here, Zach. So they'll be seven and five. I don't think that's a super hot take. I think there's a chance they could maybe even be six and six. They have a tough schedule. Especially if they don't get, if they don't beat Pitt. I believe they play K-State, K-U, Iowa State, TCU. They play basically all the top half of the conference except for Utah. So they're going to be kingmakers when you're talking about the conference. They're not going to be conference contenders. So that's a mild take. Not very spicy at all. And again, I think false equivalency. I haven't seen anyone talking about, I'm not seeing a single person talking about West Virginia. They talked about Texas Tech, not a single person. I'm a Neil Brown fan. I want him to get fired. I don't want him to continue sticking around at West Virginia. He just got an extension. So that sucks. I want him to get fired. I think he's a good coach. But that's all we have. That's hot take, not a take, mild, medium, hot, one through ten. I was all over the place. But those are your guys's takes. Might do this in July. Might do this in July. We might do this one more time before football season. I enjoyed it. That's all we have.
