Telling The TRUTH
102514 Telling The Truth 28 Minute Program
[music] You're listening to "Telling the Truth" from Triple T. Christian Youth Ministries, "Telling the Truth to and Through Teenagers." Here is Triple T. Founder and President George Dumes. "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Pray without ceasing. Rejoice always. Pray without ceasing, and everything. Give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." First Thessalonians 5, 16 through 18 New King James. God wants us to pray all the time under every circumstance, asking His blessings, His guidance, His direction, and always with thanksgiving. Are you rejoicing today? I'm rejoicing because I know that God is greater than all of my circumstances, all of my situations, all of my perplexities. God is God, and God is good. And so I'm rejoicing in spite of some very difficult moments, and I'm endeavoring to pray without ceasing. I recommend that to you, that you don't quit talking to the Lord, thanking Him, and then asking Him to give you all that you need in everything, however. Give thanks no matter what the circumstances might be, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. God has a perfect will for you. He has a plan for your life, and He wants you to understand the necessity of sharing your faith in Him with others. If you told somebody recently that Christ died for our sins, that He was buried, that He rose again, tell someone today. Seek God's will. God has a perfect plan, a divine design just for you. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all of these things shall be added to you. That's Matthew 6, 33, in the New King James Version. God really wants us to understand that things are going to be added to us when we seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. Put Him in first place in every aspect, every phase of your life. Secondly, understand this about seeking God's will. 2 Peter 3, 9, New King James says, "The Lord is not slack concerning His promise as some count slackness, but His long suffering toward us not willing that any should perish, but that all should come the repentance." Wow, that's what God wants us to do, to tell people how to get to heaven, to let them know that if they will turn to Jesus from their sins, believe on Him with all of their hearts, they can have the gift of God eternal life. It becomes our opportunity to tell people how to get to heaven. Will you do that? Someone is waiting to know how they can have their sins forgiven, to have their forever-made certain, to have a relationship with God masking in the fullness of His presence. That is a wonderful promise, and you can tell somebody how it can happen to them. Set your goals. I pressed toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus, Philippians 3, 14, New King James Version. Is that your goal? It's mine, and I hope it's yours too. Pressing toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. What is that prize? Life that lasts forever. Eternal life. Jesus said for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that her beliefs in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. That promise from Jesus can be yours personally when you admit you've sinned, when you turn to Jesus from your sins, when you believe on the Lord Jesus, God has a plan for each one of us. He has something for us to do to accomplish for His glory. Are you winning people to Christ? Are you telling people about the Lord Jesus? Are you letting them know how to get to heaven? Are you letting them know that they need to admit they have sinned to believe on Christ, to confess Him publicly? God can make you usable and use you this very day if you are willing. There are people that are perishing and they don't have to. If someone like you or like me goes to them with God's glorious gospel. Will you be that one where you are in your community, in your sphere of influence? I hope you will. Pray about the people that don't know Christ and then go to them with God's wonderful good news. Start where you are. Listen to Jeremiah's perplexed position. Jeremiah 33, 1 through 3, New King James says. Moreover, the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah a second time while he was still shut up in the court of the prison, saying, "Thus says the Lord who made it, the Lord who formed it, to establish it, the Lord is His name. Call to me, and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things which you do not know." What a wonderful promise that is from God, not just to Jeremiah, but to you and me too. Wherever you are, whatever your circumstance of life might be, you start there and you move toward the Lord. You move in the direction that he would have you to go. You go with people who love him and you go to people who don't know him and together wonderful things can happen and God will hear and answer your prayers when you put feet on your prayers and when you go with the gospel. There's a world out there that needs to be changed, that needs to be rearranged completely. Sin is rampant, but greater is he that's in you than he is in the world, so call to God. He will show you great and mighty things which you do not know. Pray consistently, expectantly, work diligently, and God will do the rest. Start where you are, geographically, physically, and spiritually. Use what you have. Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might, for there's no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going. Ecclesiastes 9-10, New King James Version. It's appointed unto men once to die and after death the judgment. Meanwhile, what are you doing with what God has entrusted to you? God approached Moses and he asked the question, "What is that in your hand?" Moses said, "A rod." God said, "Throw it down." The rod became a snake. God said to Moses, "Pick it up." He took it by the tail and the snake became a rod again. God worked the miraculous in Moses' presence with his hand. So what do you have in your hand? What are you willing to give to the Lord? What are you willing to do to glorify him? What are you willing to accomplish to get the gospel to people who need to know Jesus Christ? The same yesterday, today and forever, who need to admit they have sinned. We need to turn to Jesus from their sins. We need to believe on the Lord Jesus, who need to receive the gift of God eternal life, who need to tell others about him. Will you do that? There's somebody in your world, somebody that you know, somebody for whom you are concerned, hopefully. Will you go to them with the gospel? Tell them that Christ died for their sins, that he was buried, that he rose again on the third day. Do all you can. God has something for you to do that only you can accomplish the way it needs to be accomplished according to God's purpose and plan. So will you do all you can? List of Philippians 4, 13, to King James Version. I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me. Not some things, not most things, but all things. How? Through Christ. Why? Because he gives you the strength to do it, if you have personally trusted him. Have you admitted you are a sinner? Have you turned to Jesus Christ and asked him to forgive you? The Christ who was born of a virgin, who lived perfectly, was tempted but never yielded, and then died on a cruel cross for your sins and mine according to the Scriptures, was buried and rose again on the third day according to the Scriptures. The risen Lord Jesus is willing to help you accomplish whatever you need by giving you the strength, the wisdom, the guidance to do it. But you have to approach him. You have to approach him by believing that he is going to lead you and guide you to people who need to know him who don't. There are people in your world who need to hear the gospel. Are you willing to go and share and tell them the truth? To let them know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that he wants to become their personal Savior, go today. Reach for the stars. Listen to Philippians 3-13. Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended, but one thing I do for getting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead. Are you doing that? Forget yesterday. Yesterday will never return, and tomorrow isn't here yet, but we have today. Today is the day that God has made, and He made it for you and me to serve Him. So don't stop looking forward. Forgetting those things which are behind, reach forward to those things which are ahead. God has wonderful things in store if you will get everything in tune with Him. Do a very personal heart check up right now. If you would die today, do you know that you would spend your forever with God? Have you admitted you have sinned? Have you believed on the Lord Jesus? Have you told other people that you are a believer? Have you confessed with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believed in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead? You'll be saved. For with the heart one believes under righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made to salvation. So are you going to be reaching for the stars to tell other people about the Lord Jesus, to let them know how they can spend forever with Him? You have the opportunity to go now. Will you? I hope you will. I pray you will. Every Saturday at 7.27 p.m. you are invited to attend a live youth event at Triple T, 13,000 US-41 North at Booneville in Harmony Road, Midway between I-64 and Evansville Regional Airport. Every first Saturday, a good news club for ages 6 to 9 is available in a separate room. For more information call 812-867-2418 or visit www.tripletchristianyouth.org. Next Saturday night, November 1, 727, here at Triple T, is going to be a tribute rally celebrating Mary Doom's life and ministries. Well done, good and faithful servant. But thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. 1 Corinthians 15, 57, 58, New King James Version. Mary served the Lord faithfully behind the scenes, sharing her smile and Jesus unconditional love with thousands of youth and adults. She was born June 13, 1932, outside Mount Vernon, Illinois, and she went to be with Jesus October 12, 2014, about 3.30, Sunday morning. Call to me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things as what Jeremiah 33 says. Mary Margaret Doom's was born and born again. At age 12 she was baptized by her father, the Reverend J. C. Greer. She dedicated her life totally to the Lord on the basis of Romans 12 1 and 2, the second Mount Carmel Youth for Christ rally in 1949. I would say to you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, you present your body, a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. You may prove us that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Mary Greer and I met as students at Mount Carmel, Illinois High School. Our first ministry together occurred when both represented our churches as student committee members of Mount Carmel Youth for Christ. Both Mary and I sang in the YFC chorale directed by Jean Sites Capen. And during our dating days, it was my privilege to teach Mary to drive. We literally criss-crossed America by car during our time together. One of the things that God has done is to allow us to have so many people that have had an impact by Mary because she has provided food for them across the years and across the miles. We were married June 18, 1950, our life first, and we know that all things work together for good. Through those who love God, through those who are the called according to His purpose, Romans 828. During our first year at Bob Jones University, Mary and I traveled every Saturday from Greenville, South Carolina to Hendersonville, North Carolina, for Youth for Christ rallies. We met at the county courthouse. Mary played an old-fashioned pump organ. Mary served as Secretary of Gospel Advertising Association in Greenville, South Carolina from 1951 to 1960. We began that ministry with my parents, and we served over a hundred evangelists and pastor evangelists, and they went all over America. We advertised Crusades in more than 1,500 churches in many city-wide or area-wide Crusades. We also put gospel signs by the side of the road, especially up and down Highway 25 from Greenville to Hendersonville, North Carolina, and then down Highway 41. Our mission field became Highway 41, going down Georgia and from the top of Florida all the way down to Miami, with the message, "Believe on Christ and you will be saved." It was a thrilling time of being able to work together, to serve the Lord together, and to have God do wonderful, wonderful things. In 1960, we relocated from Greenville, South Carolina to Bradenton, Florida, where Mary and I established Temmie Amie Youth for Christ. It was again on the Temmie Amie Trail. Our goal was to go from Tampa to Miami and have youth rallies up and down that stretch of road, and we began in Bradenton, Florida. One Saturday night, in fact our fourth Saturday, we took a car caravan to 40 miles from Bradenton up to Tampa, where I spoke at the Tampa Youth for Christ rally, and we had all these kids that came along, and it was a wonderful thing to have a hundred teenagers go along for the ride and for the rally. It was a wonderful thing to see God work. It was then God's direction to move us to the Wheaton, Illinois area as we served with Youth for Christ International. And then, in 1963, we were there. In 1963, we moved to Waco, Texas, where I took a position with Word, and Mary served as my secretary. While we were there, we not only did Word records and took over sacred records, bought it from California, but we established Word books. And we started that whole ministry with just five books. That was our slogan. We only have five books. After years of marriage and several miscarriages, Mary asked me if we should consider adoption. Shortly after moving to Waco, we learned that Mary was expecting Linda Rae was born prematurely. In just a year ago, October 1963, she lived only four days, and Mary and I neither got to hold her because she was in an incubator the whole time. We were devastated, but new God was in control. Then on February 23, 1965, Tammy Lee was born in Waco. God opened the door in the tri-state, and James Lawson was born on July 27, 1966. Tammy and James literally grew up at Triple T, went to Christian schools, and became very involved at Triple T. Introduced in their birth announcements as world changers, both have proven that prediction correct. Mary also co-founded Triple T Christian Youth Ministries, Tri-State Youth for Christ with me. And in February 1966, she continued to serve as Triple T's executive secretary through October 2014, just two or three weeks ago. She has been consistently involved in every Saturday evening Youth Avengers event at Triple T, and got miraculously provided a house four miles north of Evansville Regional Airport on Highway 41 for the Ministry Headquarters and our family residents. We have flown together on many occasions and transported many guests to and from Triple T and the airport. We were privileged to fly from here to Portland, Oregon. We flew to Chicago. We flew to Dallas. We flew to Tampa. We've gone all kinds of places. On one occasion, when I was invited to speak, in Pennsylvania, at Harrisburg, we flew from here all the way to New York City. And Mary got to see the Statue of Liberty from LaGuardia Airport, and then we boarded another plane and flew into Harrisburg. We've been privileged to travel all across America. The year after we were married, Mary's parents asked us to go with them to the Southern Babies Convention in San Francisco, California, where I had a cousin living, and we were able to go with them from Tijuana, Mexico, all the way to Vancouver, British Columbia. We traveled all across the western United States, everything west of Kansas, with exception of the Dakotas, and the Greer family had already been there. And so during this time, we have seen God do wonderful things. Mary has prepared and served food for countless teenagers and leaders from countless countries, from across America and around the world. She has ministered quietly behind the scenes for multiple evangelistic youth efforts. Mary, with her two brothers' assistants, made 100 Christian flags to carry on parade and on county courthouse steps, even on the steps of the capital of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, the capital of Pennsylvania there. And so those flags have been seen because they have been pictured on billboards. They have been on the front of all of the Bibles that we give away, and over 10,000 of those Bibles have been distributed to youth across the tri-state and beyond. The flags have been depicted on the front of God's ABCs, and thousands and thousands and thousands of copies have been presented to people. At every fair, in each of the counties where we go in the summertime, a banner with the message "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ" and Mary's flags unfurled being carried by teenagers are being seen by lots and lots of people. Actually, by now, millions have seen those 100 flags that Mary dooms put together. And so as we think about all of our yesterday's, we are anticipatory for tomorrow because we know that God will make us usable and use us. As he did with Mary, whether she was using a computer, a typewriter, an oven, a stove, or needle and thread, she did everything with excellence. She did it all for the glory of God. We are excited about the fact that we're going to be having this celebration next Saturday, November the 1st, at 727 at Triple T, and you are invited to be a part of all of that. Know this, God will make you usable and use you if you'll allow. Pray without ceasing. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Have you? Jesus, the virgin-born, sinless Son of God, lived perfectly. He was tempted by the devil but never once yielded. And then Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures. He was buried, and the third day he rose again according to the Scriptures. He was seen by over 500 people at once. 40 days after his resurrection from the dead, he ascended to the right hand of God the Father. Today, right now, Jesus is interceding for all believers who pray in Jesus' name. He promised anything that you ask in my name that I will do for you. 1 Thessalonians 5, 16, 17, 18, New King James says. Rejoice always. Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. But these promises from God are for those who have truly believed on the Lord Jesus. Have you? If not, now you can. A Admit you have sinned. The Bible says for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, Romans 3, 23. The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life. In Christ Jesus our Lord, Romans 6, 23. Be? Believe on the Lord Jesus, personally. Jesus said, for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that her believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God sent not his son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved. He who believes in him is not condemned, but he who does not believe is condemned already because he is not believed in the name of the only begotten son of God. See? Confess Christ publicly. If you will confess with your mouth of the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved. With the heart when believes under righteousness and with the mouth, confession is made to salvation. Are you willing to pray now? Dear God, I am a sinner, and I'm sorry. Please forgive me. I turn to the risen Lord Jesus from my sins. I want to receive the gift of God eternal life as a believer. In and on the Lord Jesus, I am willing to tell others, my family, my friends, that I believe, and they can too, and receive the gift of God eternal life. If you and I will do that, wonderful things will happen. Then thank the Lord. Say thank you, God, for saving me today. I am willing to tell others about the Lord Jesus. Help me as I go and tell. There are people in your world who could be reached for Christ if you would be the catalyst, if you would be the one who would be the spokesperson, the Christian communicator, to creatively present the gospel to those people for whom you are really, really. They are really, really burdened and concerned. Make certain that you are a believer now. Make certain that you have turned to Jesus from your sins, that you have repented, that you have received the gift of God eternal life. And having done that, go. When Jesus was ascending, he promised that he would send the comforter, and he said, "You shall be witnesses unto me, both in Jerusalem, and Judea and Samaria, and to the uttermost parts of the world, all over everywhere." And so it becomes our responsibility, along with our opportunity, to continue getting the gospel to as many people as we can, as effectively as we can, as quickly as we can. What about you? Take an inventory right now. Make certain that you are burdened and concerned for other people, now that you know Jesus, if indeed you have received his gift of eternal life as we've shared together. Then make a list of people who need to know Christ. Determine to get the gospel to them, or get them to the gospel. Opportunities will be presented and provided for you, and you then become God's spokesperson. You do the work of an evangelist. You fulfill your ministry, because God wants all of us to be communicators of the Christian gospel, to tell people that Christ died for our sins, that he was buried, that he rose again on the third day, and by believing on the Lord Jesus, turning to him from our sins, we can have the gift of God eternal life. You can do it. It can happen to you. It can happen today. Christ through you can change the world.
