Telling The TRUTH
080914 Telling The Truth 28 Minute Program
[music] You're listening to "Telling the Truth" from Triple T. Christian Youth Ministries, "Telling the Truth to and Through Teenagers." Here is Triple T. Founder and President George Dumes. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. God's Word provides advice and admonition for every believer. Listen to 2 Corinthians 10-12, New King James Version. For we dare not class ourselves or compare ourselves with those who commend themselves. But they measuring themselves by themselves and comparing themselves among themselves are not wise. That's very important information from God to you through the Apostle Paul to the Church at Corinth. The tendency and temptation is to strut and brag. God wants us to be humble and to understand that He has a plan for us to follow and we are not to be comparing what we do with what others do or do not do. We can be in tune with God. One of the things that God wants everybody to do is to pray, to read God's Word, to fellowship with other believers and then to go with the Gospel to people who need the Lord. That's why we make God's ABCs available to you. To get yours call 812-867-2418 and give the Gospel to people who need Jesus. Not bragging but humbly. Call 812-867-2418. You can, if you will, share God's glorious Gospel. Listen to 2 Corinthians 10-13, New King James Version. We, however, will not boast beyond measure, but within the limits of the sphere which God appointed us, a sphere which especially includes you. It's a very special thing that God has done to open doors of opportunity to share the glorious Gospel of the Lord Jesus with folk just like you. Because you live where you live and are tuned in today, you can hear the good news of the saving power of the Lord Jesus. It is our mission to come to you with God's Word and to admonish you to read the Word of God, to prayerfully consider doing everything that He says. Fellowship with other believers and then going with the Gospel to folk who need the Lord. God's ABCs are all scripture. Romans 3-23. Romans 6-23. John 3-16. Romans 10-9 and 10. We've put them in printed form so you can give them to people and show them how to get to heaven. Will you do that? Call 812-867-2418. That number? 812-867-2418. Get God's ABCs to share with folk who need Jesus. Decades ago, God opened the door for us to come to you by radio. It's been a consistent opportunity to provide you with the challenges from God's Word to listen and then go with the Gospel. St. Corinthians 10-14 says, "For we are not extending ourselves beyond our sphere, thus not reaching you, for it was to you that we came with the Gospel of Christ." God has helped us know what to do and when and where and how to do it. The challenge in my heart is consistently to get the Gospel to as many people as possible as effectively as possible and to challenge Christians to be creative Christian communicators to get the Gospel to others. Will you be one of those? I hope you will prayerfully consider calling 812-867-2418 and asking for God's ABCs. We will send them to you and you can get them to people who need to know how to get to heaven. I hope you will call now 812-867-2418 and as you call pray for God to make us usable and use you and me together and with us working together to reach people for Christ. It's up to you. We're doing our part. We just need you to connect with us. Will you? Having just a little part in this radio ministry coming to you daily is a wonderful opportunity and a God-given privilege. Listen to 2 Corinthians 1015, New King James Version. Not boasting of things beyond measure that is in other men's labors, but having hope that as your faith is increased we shall be greatly enlarged by you in our sphere. Again, the hope on the horizon is for you to catch the vision of seeing people who are lost and need to know how to get to heaven. They need to know how to be saved. God's Word is quick and powerful and sharper than a two-edged sword. We have put in print and form just for you so you can give to people sharing God's glorious gospel, Romans 3, 23, Romans 6, 23, John 3, 16, Romans 10, 9, and 10. Let people know that they have got to admit that they have sinned, to believe on Christ, to confess Him publicly, and God will give them the gift of God, eternal life. Call 812-867-248. Tell us how many of God's ABCs you will prayerfully present to people who need the Lord. Get a prayer partner, read God's Word, pray consistently, and then go with the gospel. 812, it is a great privilege to come to you with the gospel and not just to stay where we are, but to reach out as God opens door after door. To preach the gospel in the regions beyond you and not to boast in another man's sphere of accomplishment, St. Corinthians 10-16, the King James Version. What God has allowed us to do in coming your way with the message of truth is to enable us to work together to share the good news of the Lord Jesus with people you know that I don't. But if you will accept the challenge, you can go and you can share God's wonderful plan of salvation. Pray with someone reading God's Word together and then determining how to go with the gospel to folk who need the Lord. The tools that we have that are available to you are free. Call 812-867-2418 and ask for God's ABCs. That number? 812-867-2418. All Scripture, ready to go, ready to share, ready for you to prayerfully give to folk who need Jesus. Will you call 812-867-2418? May God bless you as you determine to serve Him. If you have shared God's good news with folk and they have received God's gift of eternal life, don't brag about it personally, but give God the glory because He is the one who gives the increase. We are to plant and to water the seeds of the gospel. Listen to 2 Corinthians 10-17, New King James Version. But He who glories let Him glory in the Lord. It is God who has given us this connection with you, the listener, as I share this challenge day by day. One of the things that thrill us most is to get reports back from folk like you as you share God's good news, to reap the results and see what God has done and to hear a good report. If you have done that, will you let us know? Meanwhile, if you haven't yet begun to share the gospel, call 812-867-2418. We have God's ABCs, all Scripture, ready to come your way. Call 812-867-2418. We are delighted that literally hundreds and hundreds of copies of God's ABCs have been sent to folk just like you to share with others. So call us 812-867-2418. Get ready to go with the gospel. People are waiting to know how to get to heaven. Will you tell them? For not he who commends himself is approved, but whom the Lord commends. 2 Corinthians 10-18, New King James Version. God wants us to humble ourselves before Him. He wants us to be made usable and used by Him and for us to give honor and glory to Him. People are lost and they need to know how to be saved. It takes someone just like you who will prayerfully present God's plan of salvation to folk who need Jesus. There are people in your world you could reach if you are willing to do that. God will commend you. We don't commend ourselves. Let God do it. Get so close to Him that you want to serve Him with every fiber of your being and that you want to reach as many people as you possibly can. May we invite you to call 812-867-2418. Tell us how many copies of God's ABCs you will prayerfully present to people who need Jesus. Call 812-867-2418. Call us now and watch God make you usable and use you for His glory. He is willing, again, for not He who commends Himself is approved, but whom the Lord commends. That's God's word. Believe it and heat it. Every Saturday at 7.27 p.m. you are invited to attend a live youth event at Triple T. 13,000 US-41 North at Boone Golden Harmony Road, Midway between I-64 and Evansville Regional Airport. Every first Saturday a good news club for ages 6 to 9 is available in a separate room. For more information call 812-867-2418 or visit www.tripletchristianyouth.org. Most of you that are regular listeners know that Triple T Christian Youth Ministries is a coalition. And Triple T is very much involved with Teen Missions International at Merritt Island, Florida. And every year we have things that go back and forth. We go there, they come here, and we have with us today some young ladies who are members of the class of BMW. Now that's not a car. BMW means Bible, Missionary, Work, Training Center. And they're from lots of different places and two of them in particular are with us today. And I'm going to ask them to introduce themselves in a moment so that you'll know their names and where they are from. And then we're going to fire some questions back and forth and see what God has to share with you who are listening at this very moment. So the first person we have is from the West Coast. And your name is? My name is Ray, and I'm from Portland, Oregon. Portland, Oregon. And that is West of here. And then we have another young lady with us, and she is not from the West. She is from the South, from the great state of Florida. She's a Florida cracker, and she's going to tell you her name. I'm Beth Dravons, and I'm from Marion, Florida. Okay, and you two have been on the firing line at Teen Missions International before you became students. And tell us, Ray, where did you serve the Lord as a summer missionary before you became a BMW student? I had the opportunity in the year 2012 to go on a summer team as a team member to New Zealand, and then the next year I was a team leader to Italy. Okay, New Zealand and Italy. Wow. All right, Beth, where have you been? In 2012, I went to Tanzania, Africa, near Mount Kilimanjaro. We went backpacking. Okay, so here we have three continents. We have Down Under, and we have Europe, and we have Africa. Wow. We're talking about every Saturday, and many times in between, Christ through you can change the world. In fact, that's how we wrap up the broadcast. And so these young ladies have had the privilege of serving the Lord there, but this summer they have been here. In a thing we call fair share, and they've been going out to county fairs, and we have been in now 15 counties. And what a wonderful thing God has done in giving us the opportunity of sharing His good news with a whole lot of people in a whole lot of different places. So they've been here, and they've been working behind the scenes, and they've been a part of what we call the Youth Evangelism Academy. And this is Advanced Youth Evangelism Training, and they're able to learn some things. Tammy, my daughter, has been the chief instructor, and we've had other people to come alongside, including George Kelle, who was interviewed last week. And George is from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, so we're kind of scattered, but we bring everybody together here in the middle of America. And we have the opportunity of sharing God's good news, not only out where the people are, but how to do it effectively, and how to be all that God would have us to be, all to His glory, to accomplish what He would have us to accomplish. And so I'm going to ask you a couple of questions, and you can both think about these for a moment. The first question I'm going to ask you is, what is the major thing that God has spoken to you about since you've been here during this time that you've been with us, now going into the fifth week? And then the second question is, what are you going to do with what you know, now that you know it? Okay, those are the questions, and either one of them can go first with that question, whichever one wants to. So, who's it going to be? Beth or Ray? Well, it's Beth. I guess what God has spoken to me the most about is just having faith in Him, and truly having faith in Him, the things that I say, and even the messed up things I say sometimes stumbling over myself, like, he'll still use those words to bring honor and glory to Him, and it's not even what I say, it's Him working in the hearts of those that I'm speaking to. I guess what I'll take from that, you can take from that a lot in the future and just keep building upon that faith. Okay, Ray? I would say the thing that God has been working most in my heart this summer is the fact that what it is to be a willing servant of the Lord, and the fact that it's a daily choice to choose to be willing to do things. In order to serve Him, and anything that we do in missions or just even loving others, you just have to be willing before He can actually use you, and that was something that I realized that if I wasn't going to be willing, then I don't know how I expected to be used by Him. Good, and what we've shared with everybody, and we do it consistently, is the joy formula. Jesus first, others second, and yourself last, but keep yourself in the spectrum because you're important, and what you do and what you say, and who you are, is very, very, very important, not only to God, but to the people with whom you are in contact, and the people with whom you are communicating is glorious gospel. So that's a great lesson to learn, a great way to approach things, and the more you learn, the more apt you are to be able to serve the Lord more effectively because knowledge is important. A little knowledge is a dangerous thing, but the more you learn, the more you can comprehend, the more you can accomplish with what you know will be glorifying the Lord wherever you go and whatever happens, the rest of your lives. And the wonderful thing is that as teenagers, God can make you usable and use you immensely. I've been talking with these ladies and others today about how God opened the door of radio for me when I was all the bright, young age of 17 when I got to be on live radio for the first time consistently. And so radio has been a very special thing that God has opened a door to utilize for the furthest of the gospel, but it's only one tool. There are many, many ways that we can communicate Christianity. One of the things that happened is we were privileged to take these four young ladies, and there will be two more that will be interviewed shortly, but we were able to take them on a tour of the Toyota plant. And we talked to them in advance of this about teamwork and how teams are so important in anything that we do. And the Toyota company is notorious for what they do with teams. Everything that happens on the line is done by a team of three or four people with a leader. And each of these teams works well together in accomplishing what God would be pleased for them to accomplish, or what man would be pleased for them to accomplish. And then each of the four teams has a group leader of the leaders of the teams. And so teamwork works, and we're going to be talking about that in just a moment, but first I want you to know that God can make you usable and He can use you to impact your world. So keep this in mind. God loves you. Jesus died for you. And the gospel is that. Christ died for our sins. He was buried and He rose again on the third day. Thank you very, very much, Ray. And Beth, we're delighted to have you with us. And we're going to be interviewing a couple of other people very quickly, so stay tuned. BMW Bible Missionary Work Training Center is just one, the one in Florida, one of about 24 around the world. And we have two more young ladies with us that I want to let you know. I want to ask them some questions, kind of like I did the last time, like, what's your name and where are you from? I'm Lila, and I'm from Oklahoma, Mississippi. Okay. I'm Julie Speer and I'm from Columbus, South Carolina. From Mississippi and South Carolina, so we got real southern this time. And we're delighted that you are with us now because these two, plus the two that you've just listened to, volunteered to stay with us for the last two weeks of fair share this summer. We've been privileged to work together in county fair after county fair all summer long, but these four young ladies have been able to go to three different counties, and as a result of their going, they've been able to share with a lot of people. God's wonderful plan of salvation. You know, if you've listened before, that the gospel is very, very, very scriptural. And God's word tells us to admit that we have sinned, for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God. The Bible says the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. Jesus said for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that her believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. And then we're to tell people, if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be safe with the heart when believes in the righteousness and with the mouth confessions made to salvation. So these young ladies have been sharing that truth with people, and they're going to be continuing to do this in the days ahead where ever God opens doors of opportunities. But they've already been a lot of places doing a lot of things to serve the Lord before they became students at BMW at Merritt Island, Florida. They were involved with Teen Missions International on mission trips to different places. Where have you been? Well, this is Julie, and I went to Peru my first year in 2011, and in 2013 I went to Cameroon, Africa. And then I've actually been on four trips in '06 I went to Honduras, and then in '08 I went to Belize, in '09 I went to Suriname, and in 2012 I was able to go to Trinidad. Okay, so you've kind of been in Central America, the Caribbean, and that vicinity a lot, and we're excited about what God is doing there, plus all over the world through Teen Missions International, and our relationship with them has been ongoing for a long, long time. We first started really working together on a diligent way every single summer in 1980, and we've been going that way full-speed forward since. However, we've been a ministry partner together through Youth of AIDS & Association since 1975, and so it's been a long, long trip, a long, long journey, and a wonderful, wonderful series of relationships. And we've been privileged not only to have people from here, in the tri-state, to go to the world to all six populated continents, but also to country after country after country. And we've also been able to bring people here from all over the world. In fact, one particular time, for five weeks, we trained the missionaries to America, and there were 40 of them here. And it was a wonderful, wonderful time to be able to share, again, the truth of the gospel, and to share what we call God's very, very special faith factors, and how to put these into effect. So, ladies, I know that you've been here in the Youth of Angels and Academy. You've been exposed to a lot of things, and one of the things that I have noticed is you are readers, and you like to read things about what God wants to do to help you understand what the problems are, and we call this apologetics. It's not a word that I like, but it's the best probably way to explain what's going on. So, what have you learned about apologetics? You don't have to give us all the stuff you've learned, because you've learned an awful lot. But is there any particular thing that stands out that you said, "Well, I didn't know this before I came, but here at the Youth of Angels Academy, I've learned something, and this is one little gem that I have learned since I've been here?" I think one thing for me is how much everything is so important that you know, just in general, that looking at the lives of Christians who have gone before us, the way they got has always been faithful to them, and has worked with their lives in so many ways, and that it all comes back to the Bible that with that as our foundation, that we're able to stand strong in our faith. Thank you. Julie? Well, I learned how much I didn't actually know about our faith. I knew that things were true, but I didn't know why they were true. I didn't know the reasoning behind it, or the facts. I only knew the very, very basics, and I had a very good opportunity to go much deeper this summer. Well, thank you both for that, because one of the things that does work is to put everything on the basis of the Word of God. God's Word is quick and powerful and sharpened, and a two-edged sword, it will never ever return void, and God's Word stands on its own. Our words are not that important, but the more we know about what people think, the more we can help them understand what the Bible says, and what truth is. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life." Nobody comes to the Father, except by me. So we've tried to put these things into effect. One of the things that we're doing is trying to use what we call "creative Christian communications." Last Saturday night, we had a wonderful happening here where these four young ladies were parts of teams, and we talked about teams a little while ago, but they were able to put together a creative approach to the things that happen when the sower goes out to sow. And what happens to the seed that is sown when it falls in different categories and different circumstances? So what happened in your group, and what was the skit that you put together, Julie, and then Lyda, you tell us about yours? Well, on my skit, I was the seed that fell among the really good soil, and we were able to grow up because we were planted in a good place. Alright. For my skit, we actually did the seed that was been cast on the hard stone, and we tried to do it more what goes on today, so we tried to represent people who you go and you witness to them today, and they just have no interest in the Lord at all. Okay, and that's what we found at some of the county fairs where we've been in Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky, and we found that some people are open to God's love and the gospel and the people that are sharing. And others are closed-minded and closed-hearted, I would say, but yet God is able to penetrate even those seemingly impossible circumstances for people to come to the fruition and the realization that Jesus loves them. He died for them, and he didn't stay dead, buried, he rose again to give us life that lasts forever. And these ladies have been sharing God's good news, and God has been working in and through them as the seeds of the gospel have been sown. Know this, Christ through you can change.
