Telling The TRUTH
080214 Telling The Truth 28 Minute Program
[MUSIC] You're listening to "Telling the Truth" from Triple T. Christian Youth Ministries, "Telling the Truth to and Through Teenagers." Here is Triple T. Founder and President George Dooms. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. God is a perfect plan for you and for me. We are to be as near like Jesus as we possibly can. Listen, please, to 2 Corinthians chapter 4, verse 10, New King James Version. Always caring about in the body, the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifest in our body. God is granted to you and me, the privilege of living. And what we are to do is to live for Jesus, to have compassion on people who do not know him, but who could, if someone like you or like me, would share the gospel that Christ died for our sins, that he was buried, that he rose again. As we share this truth, tell people to admit they have sinned, to turn to Jesus from their sins. To let other people know that they have believed, and they too, by trusting Christ, can have forgiveness and the gift of God, eternal life. We have God's ABCs available to you. To get yours, call 812-867-2418. We will get them to you. Prayerfully consider sharing the good news of Jesus with family and friends everywhere. Call 812-867-2418. Let's get going with the gospel. And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, I believed and therefore I spoke, we also believe and therefore speak. 2 Corinthians 413, New King James Version. Are you living this way? Are you accomplishing God's purpose? Are you sharing your faith with others? You have that opportunity, moment by moment, hour by hour, day by day. God wants us to be drawn closer and closer to Him. How? First by praying. Secondly, by reading the Word of God. Let God speak to your heart. Ask Him what you should do for Him. Thirdly, fellowship with other believers. Get people praying with you, and most importantly, when you have done these things, these prerequisites have been followed, then go with the gospel. Share God's good news with folk who need the Lord. We have tools for you, God's ABCs. Call 812-867-2418 to order yours. They are total scripture, and you can give them to people one by one. That's 812-867-2418. Go now to folk and give God's ABCs to people who need Jesus. Prayerfully consider doing work for God's glory. God's Word is wonderful. As you read it, then know that God has a plan for you to put into effect. Have you really trusted the Lord Jesus personally? Admitted that you have sinned? Turned to Jesus from your sins? Told other people? There are others waiting to hear. Listen to 2 Corinthians chapter 4, verse 14 to King James. Knowing that he who raised up the Lord Jesus will also raise us up with Jesus and will present us with you. What a wonderful thing it is to know that God is doing things like this for folk everywhere who have trusted him and who will serve him. God wants us to be drawn closer and closer to him. He wants us to know that he sent his son, the Lord Jesus, to die after living perfectly, to be buried, and then to rise again so that we trusting in the resurrected Lord Jesus can have life abundantly and can share that life with others who need to know him. Call 812-867-2418 and ask for God's ABCs to share with people who need the Lord. That's 812-867-2418. Know that God can use you to reach others with the gospel. We're waiting to hear from you. Let us know how we can best pray for you when you call. And then we will do what you ask, sending God's ABCs your way. Listen carefully to the dynamic promises from God recorded in 2 Corinthians chapter 4, verse 15, New King James Version. For all things are for your sakes, that grace, having spread through the many, may cause thanksgiving to abound to the glory of God. All that we do, all that we say and think ought to be for the glory of the Lord. God has granted these very wonderful promises, and what we are to do about them is to draw closer and closer to him. His grace is available, and it needs to be shared. There are ways you can do it. There are people you can share with to let them know that God loves them, and Jesus died for them, and He rose again, and by believing on Him, they can have life that lasts forever. People are waiting for someone just like you to tell them God's good news. Will you? We've put together God's ABCs, all scripture. You can have some to give to people by calling 812-867-2418. That number? 812-867-2418. Call now, and God will help you know what to do with the gospel to give it to people. Have you been discouraged? Have you been disappointed? Listen to the promise, if you are a believer in the Lord Jesus, that God gives us from His Word. 2 Corinthians 4-16, New King James Version. Therefore, we do not lose heart, even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. What a wonderful thing it is to know that we don't have to lose heart. We don't have to give up. We don't have to quit. We don't have to be discouraged. We can go to the Lord, and we can ask not only for His blessings, but begin by saying, "God, forgive me for the things I have done and said that I shouldn't have, and for the things that I should have done but have it." God's Word says we should not neglect our great salvation. It's one thing to know Jesus. It's another thing to let other people know how they too can know Him. That's why we've put together God's ABCs just for you to give to folk who need to know the Lord. Call 812-867-2418, and let us know how many you will prayerfully use to give the gospel to folk who need Jesus. That's 812-867-2418. Someone is waiting for you to reach Him or Her. Will you? As a believer, if indeed you are, are you facing some difficulties, maybe physically, emotionally, spiritually? Listen to what's really happening. San Corinthians 4-17, New King James says, "For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory." Isn't that fantastic? An eternal weight of glory is working in us and for us and through us if we are willing to help people learn that they can spend eternity forever with God by admitting they have sinned, by turning to Jesus from their sins, by trusting Him, and by telling others about Him that they believe on Him. The gospel is God's Word. Quick, powerful, and sharper than a two-edged sword. It will work, but someone has to tell the story. Will you be that someone? People are waiting for you to tell them how to get to heaven. God's ABCs explain how. All Scripture 812-867-2418 is the number to call. Ask for how many you will prayerfully consider giving. That's 812-867-2418. May God bless you as you call. Are you caught up in problems and situations you can't understand? Do you know that if you have admitted you have sinned and turned to Jesus from your sins and believed on Him with all of your heart, that you have received the gift of God, eternal life, and that that gift prepares you for eternity? This world is not our home. We're just passing through if we know Jesus. Listen to the very insightful message from 2 Corinthians 4-18, New King James Version. While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen, for the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. Yes, there are difficulties, problems, circumstances we can't control, but they are temporary. We are living for eternity. We are headed for heaven. We need not to go alone, but along with other people. God wants you to reach out to folk who need to know the way to heaven. Call 812-867-2418. We will send you God's ABCs. That's 812-867-2418. We're waiting for your call. We'll pray. God bless. Every Saturday at 7.27 p.m. you are invited to attend a live youth event at Triple T, 13,000 US-41 North at Booneville and Harmony Road, midway between I-64 and Evansville Regional Airport. Every first Saturday, a good news club for ages 6-9 is available in a separate room. For more information, call 812-867-2418 or visit www.tripletchristianyouth.org. ♪ Tonight at Triple T is a traditional big splat. A truckload of Posey County watermelon is on the premises or will be soon. And it's going to be one of those neat times where we start out with a seed-spitting contest. And we see if the guys or girls can be the best spitters, that is the most distant spitters with a watermelon seed. And it's kind of a crazy thing that we do, but it's fun. Then we have the watermelon roll. And what we do is we have teams and we roll downhill and uphill, downhill and uphill until either everybody is finished or the watermelon no longer exists. And so that's been a great, great happening too. But then the event of the evening will be the big splat. And that's when we take a blanket and we surround the blanket with students. And we put in the middle of the blanket, one watermelon. And at the count of one, the watermelon goes up just slightly above the blanket and down. The count of two, it goes up maybe as much as five or six feet and then down. Then the count of three. The blanket is flipped, one person is assigned to remove the blanket and everybody's skadaddles and the watermelon splats. And we measure the splat to see which watermelon has splatted the furthest from one piece to the other. And that's the winning team. And the winning team at the end of the rally gets to be first in line to eat as much watermelon as they can devour along with all the other people that are attending to have the watermelon that they would like to have. But the winner gets to go first. And so it becomes a really neat happening to work together. We've been criticized in the past by people saying, "You're wasting food." And I have to tell them, "No, we're not. Our varmints who live here, the squirrels, the rabbits, the raccoons, the possums wait for big splat so that they can come and have their feast." And what they don't get, the birds get. And we have a bird sanctuary here at Triple T along with an animal sanctuary. And so it is a wonderful, wonderful happening as these critters get to have watermelon. And so we have a wonderful time on the first Saturday of August. We've been doing it for a lot of years. And so it's a delight to invite you. There's still time to come. It starts at 7.27 tonight. Saturday, August 2, and you can be a part of the whole thing. We want to talk to you about what God has laid on the hearts of lots and lots of people to reach people for Jesus who attend school. Did you know that probably the majority of all the students in America, who are teenagers, can be found in a similar setting between the first of September and the end of May every single year. We have a friend that calls this the nine-month mission trip. And so teenagers are trained on how to share their faith in every way that they can, representing Christ on campus. And so we are targeting schools. We call it adopt a school within just the counties where we have been or are going with the fair share this summer, the 15, 16 counties here. There are over 200 schools of middle schools, junior highs, high schools, and some grade schools for kids who are in fifth grade and up, our target age is 10 to 19. And so we're endeavoring to ask people to adopt a school, to pray for that school, to pray for the students of that school, to pray for the faculty, to pray for the administration. And as we have this happening, we are really, really anticipatory about what God's going to do. We are thrilled about the fact that every person who gives during a calendar year, the first $20, goes into what we call a leading youth scholarship fund. And that is used to train a student in peer evangelism and leadership. And so we are accumulating those scholarships and are ready to distribute them, person by person. And we work through local churches. We work through the pastor, the youth leader of a congregation. And we have them select at least three students to begin. And then they are trained again in peer evangelism and leadership. And then they reach out to other students in the school that they attend. We're really, really excited about all the schools that we've been privileged to work with during the time that we've been here at Triple T, which has been over 48 and a half years now. And moving toward our 49th anniversary, coming up on the 7th of February of 2015. And that's our year of Jubilee as we move from there on to the date of February 6th of 2016, we will have our golden anniversary. But between now and then, we want to reach as many people as we possibly can with the gospel. We want to train as many students as we possibly can so that they in turn can reach their peers, their friends, their fellow students, even their families for Christ. And so we've been talking about this with George Cal, who is from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. And George has worked with students in school after school. He's trained, I think it's 11,000 in drama and music and the reforming arts and with a Christian emphasis. And so George talk about those schools that those students are from or at least did attend during their teenage years and how many are there and what are they like and just give us kind of a scenario. We are in a rural and metropolitan area in the Harrisburg area. Harrisburg is the capital of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The area is diverse with agriculture and business and government investments. And so we have students who come from all kinds of backgrounds, all kinds of churches and many students who are unchurched. All kinds of public schools, private schools, cyber schooling is taking on a new life within the Commonwealth. Many students are turning to alternative kinds of schools. And we have been concentrating on seven counties around us, primarily five, but parts of two others. And we're asking folks to partner with us there in the middle of Pennsylvania as they are here in Evansville to pray for schools, to adopt a school and to just pray. It's an investment in eternity. If you would be so kind as to consider serving the Lord by just praying for students in local schools, kids from the age of 10 through 19 in these impressionable years need your support. They need your prayers and Triple T is standing with God and with many organizations across the United States to enlist your support to pray for your local school. You can pray for the school that is near where you live or the school that you attended as a teenager yourself or that you have a connection with because of family members or because of whatever other relationship you have with that particular institution of higher learning. And so we ask you to be a prayer partner with us to adopt a school by praying and as God leads you to pray for that school that you have on your heart, the students in that school, the faculty, the staff, all the families related to that school, it can be a tremendous thing as we have impact after impact on the people in community after community. George, when we pray for these students, when we pray for these schools, what do you suggest we do to begin to communicate the gospel with them? What ways can we put into effect a communications technique that will get the gospel out there and will be effective? What do you think would be a good beginning point or two or three or six or whatever? Once there are a group of devoted people praying on a regular basis, we would ask those people to ask God to raise up three key volunteers, students, young adults who have a burden for that specific school. And then those three would meet for training and an ongoing walking out of their commitment through prayer to reach that school. Then those three would help to find others, as many as 20s others who would be trained for evangelism, peer evangelism within that school and the beauty of the program is that reaching into that school is as diverse and is individualized as it's just an open book to tailor make a gospel presentation that would be appropriately received in either a city school, an urban school, a suburban school, a private school setting, a Christian school setting, a cyber school. So there are lots and lots of things that can be done to share the gospel and you take the talents of each of these who are praying and those who are willing to represent Christ on campus who have been trained in peer evangelism and you support them through your prayers and your gifts and as they go forward then they can tailor make a program to share Christ with that entire school body. The wonderful thing is that it is a doable deed. It can happen, but it all begins with prayer. God's Word says rejoice always, pray without ceasing in everything give thanks for this the will of God and Christ Jesus for you Jesus taught us what we call the ask formula. He said ask and you shall receive seek and you shall find knock and it shall be open to you for he who asks receives, he who seeks finds to him at knocks, who knocks it shall be opened and so we're asking you to be an asker, to be a prayer, to be a person who goes before the throne of grace saying God, reach this student body, reach the people on this campus, reach the people in this educational community for your glory and help them to come to know Jesus personally. Pray that we will have those people that will say yes, I will be trained, I am willing to be one of those first three, and then I will go and I will represent Christ in any way and every way that I possibly can. One of the things that we have done across the years and we're hoping to really accelerate that in the days ahead is called a tiger team impact evangelistic youth effort and it takes on all different forms, all kinds of ways we've used high school gymnasiums, auditoriums, cafeterias, been just outside on campus and are near the campus and we've been able to see really excellent things happen as we work for six weeks in advance to put together a tiger team impact, tiger means teens involved going evangelizing regularly and then as we zero in on week seven, that's an event that we put together, again on campus or near the campus and it takes all kinds of different ways of approaching it, sometimes it can be a movie, sometimes it can be a concert, sometimes it can be a dramatic drama situation, but whatever it takes, we do it in order to communicate the gospel effectively to people and so we are praying that God will really do some things way back a long time ago now it seems on the 13th of May of 2013, we began one thousand days of prayer and action moving toward our 50th birthday, our golden anniversary, again which will be God willing on the 6th of February of 2016, well on the 24th of September, just a month and a half from now is what is called see you at the poll day, see it's a poll, start in a small town in Texas and it has spread literally around the world and last year there were about 3 million students who prayed at the poll on that Wednesday morning and this year it will be the peg point of our 1000 days, it will be the 500th day, we didn't plan it that way, it just came out that way and we're delighted that it did because we're going to be endeavoring to communicate with as many students as we can in as many of these schools as we can to go to the poll that day and to pray, to pray for fellow students, to pray for their faculty, pray for their administration, pray for the families connected with that school and to pray that God's word will be quick and powerful and be presented by the students who will be praying. George I'm sure that you are very familiar with see you at the poll and you've probably had some participation. I've often been able to walk on to a high school campus outside without saying a word, represent Christ, to stand outside the circle and sometimes being invited in the circle with students and to just pray silently that God might do a real work on that high school campus. And so we ask you to pray very much about this target campus thing, we call adopt a school and pray for your school, let us know what school you're praying for because we're compiling the list of schools that people like you are helping us adopt. So call us, area code 812-867-2418 and let us know what school you want to adopt. Better yet, come tonight to the rally, 727 big splat here at triple T. It'll be a night to remember, it's a fun night, but it will be also a night where we will guarantee we'll share the gospel of Jesus Christ and invite people to believe on the Lord Jesus personally. Christ through you can change the world.
