041214 Telling The Truth 28 Minute Program
[music] You're listening to "Telling the Truth" from Triple T. Christian Youth Ministries, "Telling the Truth to and Through Teenagers." Here is Triple T. Founder and President George Dooms. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Are you really, truly a believer? Then do all you can. Realize all your strength to do all you can comes directly from the Lord Jesus. Listen to Philippians 4.13, the King James Version. I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me. Yes, God gives you the strength to do anything you need to do for His glory. You can do it. So, the first thing you do is to pray. God make me usable and use me. Secondly, you read His Word. You believe His Word. You share His Word with other believers. Together, you pray. In this fellowship factor, you reach out to determine who needs to know about Jesus, and you go with the gospel. There is someone you can reach if you will. Again, first you pray. Then you read God's Word. Then you put God's Word into effect, and then you go with the gospel. Let people know what they have to do is to admit they have sinned. To believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, to confess Him publicly. Share with them God's plan of salvation. We call it God's ABCs. Hundreds and hundreds of them have been sent to listeners just like you. And they are sharing with friends wherever they go. Call 8128672418 and ask for God's ABCs. We'll send them right to you. Listen to 2 Timothy 2.15. Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. The New King James Version is very explicit in telling us what to do and how to do it. So be a diligent worker. Study, apply, and share the Word of God. You go first to the Lord in prayer. God, show me the truth in your Word. Secondly, you read the Word of God, and you put it in your heart. And then you get another believer to pray with you and to look in God's Word together. And then as workers, you go with the Gospel. You share Jesus with people who need to know Him. You let them know that the Bible says all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Share John 3 16, and then tell them to confess with their mouth the Lord Jesus, believing in their heart that God has raised Him from the dead. God's ABCs are available to you to share with people, and we have them for you. All you have to do to get yours is to call or write. The number, area code 812, 867-2418. That's 812-867-2418. Become a Christian communicator today. Pray with someone and then go with the Gospel to those who need Jesus. Did you know that God gives specific instructions for what we are to do for His glory? Listen to Colossians 3 verses 12 and 13 of King James. Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, long suffering, bearing with one another and forgiving one another. If anyone has a complaint against another, even as Christ forgive you, so you also must do. That's imperative, must do, no excuses, no holding back. Forgive anybody who has offended you, or anybody who has upset you. Don't forgive them, and then have compassion and share with them the glorious Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Read God's Word, pray diligently, find a prayer partner, and together pray for the person that you need to forgive, and if that person is not a believer, go to them with the truth. Take the Gospel and share God's love with people who need Jesus. God can make you usable, and He will use you if you are willing. Take God's ABCs in printed form. They are available free to you by calling and ordering yours now. 812-867-2418. That's 867-2418. Just let us know how many you can prayerfully distribute to people who need Jesus. God's most important instruction is love. Colossians 3.14, the King James Version. But above all these things, put on love, which is the bond of perfection. Remember we are called as one body with different gifts, so be thankful. Listen to Colossians 3.15, and let the peace of God rule in your hearts to which also you were called in one body and be thankful. Are you thankful for what God has done for you, for Jesus being born of a virgin, living perfectly, then dying because you are a sinner, I am a sinner, to be buried and rising again and giving us the gift of God eternal life? Wow, what a wonderful thing it is to know the truth. But are you telling the truth to people? Are you sharing with others? Do you have a prayer partner? Are you praying together for people who need the Lord? Are you going with the Gospel? I hope you are. I hope you will put God's Word in your heart. Memorize his scriptures. Share God's ABCs. We would really like to have you to be one of the Christian communicators. Several listeners have ordered God's ABCs, and we want to have you. Give them to the people you can. Call 812-867-2418. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in Psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. Colossians 3-16, New King James. When you apply God's Word in everything you do, fantastic things transpire. God will make you usable and use you if you will do it according to what He has instructed you to do. So read God's Word, especially Colossians chapter 3, and see how God can do something for you and with you. There are people who need the Lord, and you can be the one with a song in your heart to go and share the plan of salvation with folk who need Jesus. Pray without our believers, and then reading the Word of God, go with the Word of God and share God's ABCs. To help people to admit they have sinned, to believe uncrashed, to confess Him publicly. Memorize Romans 3-23, Romans 6-23, John 3-16, Romans 10-9 and 10. We have those in printed form for you. We call them God's ABCs, and we want you to know that you can take them and give them to people. I just got off the phone with somebody calling asking for 50 copies to leave wherever they go with people who need Jesus. We would like to send some to you. Call every code 812-867-2418 and tell us how many you can use. Do all you can for Him, whatever you do, do it all for Jesus, and thank God as you do it. And whatever you do in Word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. Colossians 3-17, New King James Version. Remember, whatever you do in Word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. Read God's Word, pray. Thank the Lord. Pray without our believers, and then take the Gospel to people who are not yet headed for Heaven, but who could be if you would tell them how. God's Word is quick and powerful and sharper than a two-edged sword. We have it in print form for you. We hope you will join an army of people who are communicating Christianity wherever they go, sharing God's wonderful plan of salvation, and you can too, if you will. God holds you responsible, as I have said before, not just for what you do or do not do, but for what you could do if you would do what you should do. So what should you do? Share Jesus, share the Gospel, share God's good news. Coloss 8-1-2-867-2418. We will send you as many copies of God's ABCs as you will prayerfully and carefully distribute to those who need Him. That's 8-1-2-867-2418. Are you doing all you can for God's glory? Are you sharing your faith? Are you reading God's Word? Are you praying diligently? Do you have a prayer partner? Are you going with the Gospel? Are you taking God's ABCs, the plan of salvation, and sharing them with people who need Jesus? Listen to James 4-17, New King James Version. Therefore, to Him who knows to do good and does not do it, to Him it is sin. That's strong, but it's true. When God tells you to do something and you don't do it, you are sinning. And you need to know that God can use you to tell somebody how to get to heaven. If you don't, who's going to? God holds you responsible. Will you be the kind of believer that is a faith-sharerer, a communicator of Christianity? Will you take God's good news to someone today and tell Him or her how she or he can become a member of God's forever family? We have God's ABCs to put into your hands to give to folk who need the Lord. Just call us 812-867-2418. That's 867-2418. Let us know how many you will use and join this group of folk who are sharing Jesus. Every Saturday at 7.27 p.m., you are invited to attend a live youth event at Triple T, 13,000 US-41 North at Boone Building Harmony Road, mid-way between I-64 and Evansville Regional Airport. Every first Saturday, a good news club for ages 6 to 9 is available in a separate room. For more information, call 812-867-2418 or visit www.tripletchristianyouth.org. [music] You realize that your strength to do all you can comes directly from the Lord Jesus Christ? Listen to Philippians 4-13 again. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Let's look at that "all things" phrase again. You've heard us share this with other scriptures, with that same "all things" in it. This says "I can do all things." Whatever you need to do, you can do. If you ought to do it, you can do it. Do you realize that tomorrow is Palm Sunday? And that there will be celebrations around the world commemorating what happened as Jesus rode on a donkey, the donkey's cold actually, in a Jerusalem. And they were shouting, "Hosanna in the highest, Hosanna, Hosanna." And he came in triumphantly. But it wasn't long until some things happened. Listen to the Gospel of John chapter 12 verses 12-15. The next day, a great multitude that had come to the feast when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem to branches of palm trees and went out to meet him and cried out, "Hosanna, bless it as he who comes in the name of the Lord, the King of Israel." Then Jesus, when he had found a young donkey, sat on it as it is written. "Fear not daughter of Zion, behold your king is coming, sitting on a donkey." The wonderful thing about God's Word is that it hangs together. A lot of people take licenses with the Bible and they make it say things that it doesn't say. They try to take away from it things that it does say. In the day, we've got a lot of controversy about movies that depart from Scripture. But God wants us to know that His Word is quick and powerful and sharpened into its sword, and it is totally true. The only truth we have is the Word of God. God's Word is quick and powerful and sharpened into its sword. Jesus bore the punishment for our sins. Listen to, again, the Old Testament, the book of Isaiah chapter 53, and sometime soon read Isaiah 53 the entire chapter. Listen to verses 3 through 7, "He is despised and rejected by man, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. As we hid, as it were, our faces from him, he was despised and we did not esteem him. Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows. Yet we esteemed him stricken, stricken by God and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions. He was bruised for our iniquities. The chastisement for our peace was upon him, and by his stripes we are healed." I'm going to read another verse in just a moment, but let's suffice it for these seconds to reflect on what is going to happen as is recorded in the Scripture. This is the day before Easter, I mean the week before Easter. And so here is all this clamor and clapping and shouting who he is, Hosanna, Hosanna. And yet this very, very week, things are going to happen that will change the history of the world from that moment on, because later Jesus is going to be betrayed. He's going to be taken to trial and you know the rest, and next week we're going to tell you a whole lot more of what happened. But here's what I want you to listen to, if you will please, to Isaiah 53. All we like sheep have gone astray. We have turned everyone to his own way, and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth. He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so he opened not his mouth. When you think about the Old Testament sacrifices, where innocent lambs without any spot but any blemish had to be taken and slain for the sins of the people. As a representation of the fact that it takes blood, the shed blood of an innocent lamb to take care of the washing away of the sins symbolically. Now, let's think for a moment about the whole story of Jesus Christ. You know that he was promised to be coming as the Messiah. You probably remember that Mary was visited by an angel, and the angel said, "Mary, you're going to have a baby. Don't be afraid. The baby's father is God, and you are going to bring forth a child, a man-child, and this baby will be the Savior of the world. And so Mary, as a virgin, as a person who's never known a man, you are going to give birth to the Son of God, God the Son." Then he visited Joseph to whom she was engaged, and that same angel said that Joseph understand that Mary is going to become pregnant. She's going to have a baby, and the baby is the Son of God. It took Joseph a while to comprehend and apprehend this, but God continued to let Joseph know that it was okay, and he was to protect Mary, and so they took their trip back to Bethlehem. They had to go to pay taxes, and God had worked all of this out in his scheme of things all the way back early, early on in the Old Testament. He had to send a more bitus named Ruth, and she had to go to Bethlehem herself, and then she had to be attracted to and attracted by Boaz. And Boaz then married Ruth, and Ruth again gave birth to a child, and on goes the lineage of David. And as you see this in the Old Testament, as you understand that all of this was the divine appointment of God, person after person, event after event to get it ready for Mary to give birth to the Lord Jesus Christ. And so you know the Christmas story, but one of the things that you may not remember, and I want to share that with you today, is that the first people that got the message that the Messiah had come were told by the angels. And this is what they were doing. They were out in the middle of the desert, outside of Bethlehem, watching over the sacrificial lambs. They had to be there at night because they couldn't let these lambs have any spot, any blemish, any problem whatsoever if they were going to be used for the sacrifice. And so it was to them, and we sing the song at Christmas time, "Hark the Herald Angels Sing, Glory to the Newborn King." And the first people that got to see the Lord Jesus Christ in that manger, in that stable, were the shepherds, because their job was going to be over in 33 years when Jesus died and became the Lamb of God. No longer did the sacrifices of lambs have to happen. And so we see this tremendous story, and I want to reiterate again now that having said that, this very, very special verse from Isaiah. Listen carefully, "All we like sheep have gone astray. We have turned everyone to his own way, and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all." He was oppressed, and he was afflicted. Yet he opened not his mouth. He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep, before its shearers is silent, so he opened not his mouth. That's what happened to Jesus Christ as he was being led up to the moment of his sentence to death by crucifixion. Jesus went a little further, willing to be giving his life for you and for me. We are sinners. All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. You're a sinner. I'm a sinner. Everybody's a sinner. The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ. Jesus our Lord. Wow. What a wonderful, wonderful thing to know. Now listen to Matthew. Matthew 26, 38 and 39. Then he said to them, "My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch with me." He went a little farther and fell on his face and prayed, saying, "Oh, my Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from me. Nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will." Because of Jesus' willingness to die for our sins, we have new life in Christ. When we admit we've sinned, when we believe on him, when we're willing to tell other people we believe. If you confess with your mouth, the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised from the dead, you will be safe with the heart, when believed, or righteousness with the mouth, confession is made to salvation. Stay tuned as we continue the story and talk about the trial that Jesus went through and the result. To be trade by Judas in the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus was escorted roughly all the way to the court of Pilate. Listen then to the Gospel of John chapter 18, beginning with verse 33. Then Pilate entered the Praetorium again, called Jesus and said to him, "Are you the king of the Jews?" Jesus answered him, "Are you speaking for yourself about this, or did others tell you this concerning me?" Pilate answered, "Am I a Jew, your own nation, and the chief priests have delivered you to me? What have you done?" Jesus answered, "My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews, but now my kingdom is not from here." Pilate therefore said to him, "Are you a king then?" Jesus answered, "You are rightly to say that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears my voice." Pilate said to him, "What is truth?" And when he had said this, he went out again to the Jews and said to them, "I find no fault in him at all." Later, after the death, the burial, the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, during his 40 days back on planet Earth, Jesus was able to say a very, very wonderful but factual statement, "I am the way, the truth, the life. No one comes to the Father, except by me." So now it becomes our opportunity and responsibility to share the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Jesus said, "You shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free." Listen to 2 Timothy 4, 2 through 5. "Preach the word. Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all long suffering and teaching. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine. But according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers, and they will turn their ears away from the truth and be turned aside to fables. But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry." That is the cardinal thing that Triple T Christian Youth Ministries is all about. And that's what we are endeavoring to get people to understand and to respond in a very personal way, so that the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ can be shared with people who need the Lord. One of the things that we have put together is what we call God's ABCs. It was a long time ago in Rock Hill, South Carolina, when I was asked to speak several times over a weekend to all kinds of different people, different age groups. In order to prepare for those meetings, I prayed a lot about, "Okay, what should I say? How should I do this?" And God really laid on my heart to present what we call God's ABCs. A. Admit you have sinned, for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God. B. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that, who believes in him, should not perish, but have everlasting life. And in the C. Confess Christ publicly. She will confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised and was dead. You will be safe with the heart when believes to righteousness, with the mouth confession is made to salvation. If you have not yet done that, this is your moment of truth. Pray with me, Heavenly Father, I am a sinner, and I am sorry. I want to turn to Jesus, your Son, the Savior of the world, King of Kings and Lord of Lords. I want to turn to him from my sins, to receive from him the gift of God eternal life, and total forgiveness for all of my sins and mess-ups. I believe, and I will tell other people, I believe. If you've prayed that prayer with us, please call us, Erykot 812-867-2418. That's 812-867-2418, and we will put into your hands a Bible that has all those verses I've just shared with you. It's free, and it's yours for calling. Christ, through you, can change the world.
