Telling The TRUTH
011114 Telling The Truth 28 Minute Program
[music] You're listening to "Telling the Truth" from Triple T. Christian Youth Ministries, "Telling the Truth to and through Teenagers." Here is Triple T. founder and president, George Dooms. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, but you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut the door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place, and your Father who sees in secret, will reward you openly, Matthew 6-6, New King James Version. Do you have a secret place, a place of prayer, a private place, where you can pour out your heart to the Lord? Find such a place and go to that place whenever you possibly can. Pray alone, trust the Lord to then put you in contact with prayer partners, and then pray with people who know the Lord. Pray for people who don't know Jesus, and read the Word of God, and take the gospel to those people. When you pray, believing in advance that you are going to receive what you are asking for, whether it is a serenity of spirit, or if it be companions to pray with you, or people who need the Lord. Whatever the need might be, pray expecting God to hear and answer. Share God's ABCs with people everywhere. Send for your copies. Hundreds have been sent, and we want you to have yours too. The number, Erykod 812-867-2418. When you pray, make certain that your heart is clean and crystal clear. Be ready to go before the throne of God and listen to His instructions. Matthew 6-7, New King James says, "But when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words." In other words, don't pray in front of people to make them think that you are wise, or that you have a special insight into what God is about to do. But rather, go humbly before the throne of grace, and don't pray over and over and over the same phraseology, but pray specifically, if possible, by name for folk who need the Lord, or folk who need your prayer support. And then pray with other believers, and be careful as you pray together that you are not boastful in your asking, or even in your thinking. But be sincere and open before the Lord, expecting His direct response to your request. Believe and receive. That's why we want to give you copies of God's ABCs so that you can share God's plan of salvation with people who need the Lord. Simply call us, Erykod 812-867-2418, and let us know how many you can prayerfully use. Join the others, many who have called and are sharing. The Pharisees paraded around, wanting everybody to look at them when they prayed. God is warning us to do something differently. Listen to Matthew 6-8, New King James. Therefore, do not be like them, for your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him. Isn't it wonderful to know that God is omniscient and omnipotent? He knows everything, and He is able to do anything and everything that is needed. He knows what you have need of. God's Word says, "Before you ask, He will answer." That's a wonderful promise. Before you ask, I will hear another Scripture says. So let's go to the throne of grace, expecting God to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, and to be able to receive what He is going to provide as we pray, as we read His Word, as we fellowship with other Christians, and then as we take the gospel to people who need Jesus in their hearts and lives. What will you do with Jesus, who is called the Christ? Will you share the good news? Send for your copies of God's ABCs. Let us get them to you so that you can in turn get them to people who need the Lord. The number is called as Erykod 812-867-2418. When the apostles approached Jesus and asked Him how they should pray, He then presented what is known as the Lord's Prayer, but more correctly spoken of as the model prayer. Listen to Matthew 6-9, New King James Version, as Jesus began His teaching. In this manner, therefore, pray, "Our Father in Heaven, hallowed be Your name." That's the way to start prayers. Pray to our Father in Heaven, acknowledging who He is, His holiness, His greatness, His majesty, His hallowed name, and then begin to articulate what is in your heart and watch God not only hear, but to answer your petitions that you make known to Him. God loves you and He wants you to love Him back. So read His Word, talk with Him, pray with others, and represent Him to a desperately needy world. That's why we have prepared God's ABCs. Romans 3-23, Romans 6-23, John 3-16, Romans 10-9-10, and printed form for you. You can get yours by calling Erykod 812-867-2418. Just tell us how many you will prayerfully distribute to people who need the Lord. God can make you usable and He can use you in a very, very special way to get the gospel out to the people for whom you are concerned. Ask and it will be given to you. Seek and you will find. Knock and it will be open to you. Matthew 7-7, New King James Version. That's Jesus' Ask Formula. The wonderful thing about this is it works. Three words spelling ask. First you ask and it will be given. Then you seek and you will find. And then you knock and it will be open to you. When you ask, seek and knock. God hears and answers. Are you in tune with Him? Are you reading His Word? Are you believing the Word of God? Do you believe Matthew 7-7? It's true. Jesus said it so you better believe it. It's the Word of God. Not only do you need to read the Word of God, but you also need to pray expectantly the way Jesus taught us here to pray. And you need to get prayer partners praying with you. First of all, pray secretly in a place where only you and God are meeting together. Then with others, family, friends that you trust, and then make requests that you believe God is going to hear known to Him. Pray for people who need the Lord. Do you have your copies of God's ABCs? Call us and we'll send them to you as many as you will prayerfully give away. Jesus gives us the Ask formula, and then in Matthew 7, verse 8, New King James Version, He lets us know what happens when we follow the formula. Listen, for everyone who asks, receives, and he who seeks, finds, and to him who knocks, it will be opened. There you have the triple promise. Ask and receive. Seek and find. Knock and watch the doors open. God expects us to follow His Word precisely. He wants us to have the faith in fact, though we believe what's going to happen when we pray, that He is going to let us receive what we ask for. Let us find what we are seeking for, and let the doors open on which we are knocking. It's a way of life. First of all, privately present your heart, needs, and desires to the Lord. Secondly, bring other people into the picture to pray with you. And thirdly, expectantly, go to do whatever it takes to accomplish what God wants you to do for Him. Ask, seek, knock. There are people waiting to hear about Jesus. We have a tool for you. It's called God's ABCs. To get yours, tell us how many you want, and we'll get them to you when you call. The number is area code 812-867-2418. Let us pray with you as you go with the Gospel. Listen to the promise that Jesus presents in Mark 1124, New King James. Therefore, I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. What a wonderful promise. When you pray, are you believing that God is not only going to hear, but answer? Have you found that private place, that special place that you are about to enter with God as you pray on an altar? Again in secret, and pour out your heart to the Lord. Ask for forgiveness, ask for guidance, ask for direction, and ask for what other people need. Pray compassionately, and then make your request known to the Lord. When you have left that private place, have others pray with you, and together claim God's promises, believing that He is going to hear and answer prayer. Read and heed the word of God, and be a communicator of Christianity to people who really need Jesus. We have God's ABCs we'd like to put into your hands to get yours, simply call us, or write us. The number is area code 812-867-2418. Just tell us how many copies of God's plan of salvation you will personally, prayerfully, present to people who need the Lord. We'll get them right out to you, if you'll let us know how many you will prayerfully distribute. Every Saturday at 7.27 p.m., you are invited to attend a live youth event at Triple T, 13,000 US-41 North at Booneville in Harmony Road, Midway between I-64 and Evansville Regional Airport. Every first Saturday, a good news club for ages 6 to 9 is available in a separate room. For more information call 812-867-2418 or visit www.tripletchristianyouth.org. Have you ever said, "Lord, teach me to pray." The disciples who followed Jesus, who were closest to Him, said this to Him, "Lord, teach us to pray." That request from His disciples let Jesus give us, them and now to us, a specific answer. He said this to them. It's recorded in Matthew 6 verses 5-13. Yes, Jesus taught us how to pray. And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they left to pray, standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly I say to you, they will have their reward. But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many works. Therefore, do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him. In this manner, therefore, pray. Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. Do not lead us in a temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Let's look at that again. Our Father in heaven, that's the way to begin all of our praying. To acknowledge who God is, the creator of the universe, the one who made it possible for us to have life, the one who sent His only Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. God the Father sent God the Son, the Son of God, to be born of a virgin, to live perfectly, to preach, to share, to touch, to teach, and then to die for our sins according to the Scriptures. To be buried, but to rise again on the third day. The resurrected Jesus. And so our Father in heaven has a hallowed name, a holy name, and we need to respect Him and to come to Him. And then Jesus says, Pray, your kingdom come, your will be done. God has a plan for the whole world. And people come to Jesus one by one. Whole nations are not saved, but individuals within those nations come to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ by admitting that they have sinned, by believing on Him, by telling others about Him. Your will be done. God has a perfect will for you and for me. Romans 12 1 and 2 says, I beseech you, therefore brethren, the mercies of God that you present your bodies, a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service, and be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may prove what is at good and acceptable and perfect will of God. That's God's will. For us to know what He wants us to do and to do it for His glory. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Meanwhile, back at the ranch, we're still here. This world is not my home, I'm just passing through. But while I'm here, I've got to be about my father's business the way Jesus was and the way He instructed us to do things for His glory. The greatest need in the world is found in 2 Corinthians 4-3. But if our gospel be hid, it is hid that those that are lost. Everybody everywhere is lost unless they are saved. They are condemned until they are redeemed. And so here's what happens. People have got to hear before they can trust. Trust in the Lord with all of your heart. Lean not in your own understanding in all of your ways, acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths. But your paths can be directed by God only when you are available to Him. The greatest ability in the world is your availability to Him. And secondly is your dependability. God wants us to go with the gospel to people who need Him. And so on earth, we need to go about sharing the gospel because God's will is certainly done in heaven. Every day I learn about people who are having difficulties. And when a day comes when somebody that we've loved and known and cared about, suddenly is gone from planet earth, transported from this life to the next one. We have friends who have gone on to glory. I have parents and grandparents and aunts and uncles and cousins and Mary's relatives now. Her parents, her grandparents, her brother and now her sister-in-law are with Jesus. And we need to know that only one life will soon be passed. Only one's done for Christ will last. And so we need to go about doing God's will. And then He says, "Give us this day our daily bread." God has provided for us the necessities. And there are so many things that we would like to have. So much stuff out there. But the stuff and the things are not important. God gives us the bread to live by so that we can keep on going forward with the glorious gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Certainly He gives us things as tools. But when the things become so important that we lose sight of the why we have the things, then we get into a heap of trouble. And then He says, "Forgive our debts as we forgive our debtors." Wow. Forgive us our debts. Who do you owe? I owe a lot of people a lot of things for their investments in my life. Going way, way, way, way, way back. When I was a little bitty baby, my parents took me to church. And the pastor of my home church found out that my dad needed Jesus. My dad didn't admit it. He always was glad handing people and saying, "Oh, I'm so glad that you've come forward. I'm so glad that you've made a decision." But my dad was as lost as a goose in a hail storm. But one night, singing in the choir, he went to choir practice. That was meeting at the pastor's home. And he said to my mother, "I've got to talk to preach." And my mother went to the pastor and said, "Lost in needs to talk with you." They went back into a bedroom. And pastor Leroy Blackburn led William Lawson dooms to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. And because that happened, I was raised in a Christian home. I didn't respond to the gospel suddenly and quickly. I went to church every time my parents went. I went to vacation Bible school. I went to Sunday school. I was there to be a Daniel band. I was in all kinds of things. But when I was seven years old, an evangelist came to our church. He shared the gospel. They shared some excellent music. And I was convicted, but I didn't respond. But a year later, in February of 1940, as an eight-year-old, I said, "God, I know I've sinned and I'm sorry." The evangelist and the singer were at our home for the Sunday evening dinner before church that night. And the evangelist was a very articulate guy, but the singer was blind. He had a Braillach apparatus, and he printed out John 3.16. He gave it to me as a very special gift. And then he asked me to read to him the gospel of John, which I did. And that night, as the invitation was extended, I went forward and gave my heart to Jesus Christ. And the wonderful thing that happened, not only was I born again, not only did I become a believer in Christ and I remember his forever family. When I got home, my parents came into my room and they said, "Now, George, you no longer have to pray now I lay me down to sleep. I pray the Lord my soul to keep. If I should die before I wake, I pray the Lord my soul to take." That's okay. But now you can say anything to God you want to. You can pray specifically, directly to Him. So I owe a great debt to my parents who taught me, to my grandfather who really encouraged me to read the Word of God, my pastor's wife who encouraged me to memorize Scripture. And so all of those debts are mine. And the pastors that came, and especially the one that came when I was a teenager, that gave me opportunity after opportunity to serve the Lord with the talents that He had entrusted to me. So we are to forgive our debtors. Are you? Will you? And then the next phrase is very important. And do not lead us in a temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. The devil is lurking, he wants to trap you, he wants to trick you, he wants to mess you up, but put Jesus in first place. And then it wraps up this way, for yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Stay tuned. We have more wonderful things to share with you. Now we know how Jesus taught us to pray. But what about those times when we don't even know what to pray for? Listen to Romans 8, 26. Likewise, the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Have you ever been in that predicament, in that place, in that position I have, or have not known how to pray? The problems seem to be overwhelming, the circumstances seem to be unmanageable. But in those moments, in that time of truth, we go to the Lord, get on our knees, in our quiet place, in our private place, pour out our hearts to the Lord and just let Him speak to us and through us. And God does here, and He does answer, and He does wonderful, wonderful things. Did you know that Jesus prayed for us? John 17, 17 through 21 says this. Sanctify them by your truth. Your word is truth. As you sent me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. And for their sakes, I sanctify myself that they also may be sanctified by the truth. I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, that they all may be one, as your Father are in me and I in you, that they also may be one in us, that the world may believe that you sent me. You see? Jesus was praying for the disciples who were going to share the gospel, and for the people that they would share with, and for the people that would share after they had heard the good news, and it continues right up until this very, very day. We need to pray for boldness to share the gospel. Ephesians 6, 18 and 19 has some special admonitions. If you read the sixth chapter of Ephesians, you will find out how to put on the whole armor of God to stand against the wiles of the devil. This is how it wraps up, praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints. And for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel. I personally apply that to me because I have the privilege of sharing the gospel on radio and personally, and on Saturday nights, and sometimes in between. We share the gospel. And as I have watched the Lord take His word and through my lips, speak to the hearts of people who do not believe on Christ, but who hear the gospel and who, as the Holy Spirit prompts them, respond to His word and to His love and give their hearts to Christ by admitting that they have sinned, by believing on the Lord Jesus, by confessing Him publicly. Yes, it is our opportunity to make known the mystery of the gospel. Are you doing this? I hope you are. If you aren't, you can. 1 Corinthians 15, 1 through 4 presents, biblically, the greatest story. Listen. Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which also you are saved. If you hold fast that word, which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain. For I delivered you, first of all, that which I received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures. That's the goal. To share that news, that good news, that wonderful news of the saving power of Jesus Christ. Matthew 938 says, "Pray for labors into His harvest. Therefore, pray the Lord of the harvest to send out labors into His harvest." I want to share something very, very special with you. Listen. Since May 13, 2013, when one thousand days of prayer and action began, God has been putting more special people in the picture. Tigers and tiger teammates, investing time, talent and treasure, have become coal labors in God's harvest field. Over 1300 different people have heard the gospel here at Triple T, and God's ABCs have been presented personally to over 4,000 within 100 miles. Hundreds more have received God's ABCs in print, and thousands have seen a message believe on the Lord Jesus Christ on billboards and on radio. In the 99 counties, there are 400,000 to the 19-year-olds. Will you pray that we can reach as many as possible with God's glorious gospel? Christ, through you, can change the world. Every Saturday at 7.27 p.m., you are invited to attend a live youth event at Triple T, 13,000 U.S. 41 North at Boone Building Harmony Road, midway between I-64 and Evansville Regional Airport.
