Telling The TRUTH
122113 Telling The Truth 28 Minute Program
[music] You're listening to "Telling the Truth" from Triple T. Christian Youth Ministries, "Telling the Truth to and Through Teenagers." Here is Triple T. Founder and President George Dims. "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Come and see. Go and tell." Listen to Mark 3, 13, and 14 New King James Version. And he went up on the mountain and called to him those he himself wanted, and they came to him. Then he appointed 12 that they might be with him, and that he might send them out to preach. And preach they did. And the Gospel went and is continuing to go all over the world. What are you doing about it? Are you praying? Are you praying with someone else? Are you asking God to send you with the Gospel to people who need the Lord? Are you doing what God would have you to do? Are you accomplishing what he would have you to accomplish? Are you reading the Word of God? Are you hitting the Word of God? God's Word is quick and powerful and sharpened in a two-edged sword. It is available to you. These words that God has inspired are yours to read and heed. Let's pray for people who need the Lord. Let's take God's ABCs and let's share the plan of salvation, admit you've sinned, believe on Christ, confess Him publicly. We have copies of God's ABCs with the Scriptures ready to sin to you. All you have to do is call or write and we will get them to you. The number 812-867-2418. And he called the 12 to him and began to send them out two by two and gave them power over unclean spirits. Mark 6, 7, New King James Version. Unclean spirits are still with us, unsavory people abound, but God is still greater. Greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world. Even though our world has far more people than it did when this was first presented by Mark, a job to do remains the same, to go and tell, to share the good news of the saving power of the Lord Jesus Christ, to let everybody everywhere know who Jesus is. The virgin born, sinless Son of God, who died for our sins, who was buried, and who rose again on the third day, is the message needed. That living Jesus is waiting to invade the hearts of people who will open to Him. Go tell Him the truth. Tell them how to get to heaven, to admit they have sinned, to believe in the Lord Jesus, to confess Him publicly. Romans 3, 23, Romans 6, 23, John 3, 16, Romans 10, 9, and 10. That's God's ABCs and we have them in printed form. We'd like to send them to you. Let us know how many you can prayerfully use and we'll get them to you. Call 812-867-2418. Listen to Luke 7, 27, New King James Version. This is he of whom it is written, "Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will prepare your way before you." That messenger, John the Baptist, was used of God to prepare the way for the Lord Jesus Christ to come and to do what God sent Him to do. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. What are you doing to help people be saved? Are you praying? Are you reading the Word of God? Are you taking the gospel to people and sharing Jesus with them? Are you praying with other Christians, with other believers? And are you together determined to go two by two to the folk who need the Lord? God's ABCs, admit you sin, believe on Christ, confess Him publicly with those very special Scriptures. Romans 3, 23, Romans 6, 23, John 3, 16, Romans 10, 9, and 10 are available in print form for you to go and share with people who need the Lord. Just let us know how many you would like to use and we'll send them to you. Call us, area code 812-867-2418, and then go with the gospel. Listen to Luke 10-2, New King James. Then he said to them, "The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few. Therefore, pray the Lord of the harvest to send out labors into His harvest." I have a suggestion for you. Will you consider giving God a very special gift at Christmastime? The gift? You. You to be a harvester. You to be a communicator of the good news of Jesus Christ. Will you give God yourself? Read Romans 12-1-2, and then do what it says, present you to God. And when you do this, as a living sacrifice to Him, God will make you usable and He will use you. There are people who need the Lord, who could be reached by you. Pray the Lord of the harvest to send out labors into His harvest. Determine to be one of them, one of His harvesters. Will you? Then go with God's great, wonderful news. Jesus, born of a virgin, lived, taught, preached, touched, died for your sins and my sins, according to the Scriptures. He was buried, and He rose again the third day. And that living Lord Jesus, that virgin-born baby, is ready to save souls, yours and others. Go today. Go your way, behold, I send you out as lambs among wolves. Luke 10-3, New King James Version. That's right. There are wolves out there seeking devour Christians. They are out there endeavoring to stop even the thought of having Christ in Christmas. But Christmas is because Christ lives. If that baby had been born and just lived a normal life, like most people, and at 33 had died and stayed dead, that would have been the end of the story. But it was not the end. It was the beginning of the wonderful story of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The baby and the manger became the Savior on the cross, and the resurrected Lord from the tomb. And so because Jesus is alive, you and I have the privilege and opportunity, and I believe responsibility to tell people who He is, the Son of God, God the Son. People can come to know Him if someone would tell them how. Will you be one? Will you pray together? Will you share God's Word and His love together with people who need the Lord? Will you go with the gospel on this very, very special day? God can make you usable, and He can use you today. This is the day that you should, and hopefully you will, keep Christ in Christmas. After the resurrection, Jesus promised something very special. It was someone. Listen to Luke 24.49, New King James. Behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you. But tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are in dude with power from on high. That was the promise, and the promise came through the power, the presence of God's Holy Spirit. And now everybody who believes on Christ has the Holy Spirit within. God's Spirit indwells the believer, but we are to listen to the prompting of the Holy Spirit. We are to honor Him, we are to bear the fruit of the Spirit, and we are to share God's glorious gospel. The Spirit gives us the power. What are you doing about that power? Is it lying latent, or are you doing something to share God's wonderful story of redemption with people who need the Lord today? Pray, fellowship, and go with the gospel, reading and doing what God's Word says to do. We want to send you copies of God's ABCs so that you can share the plan of salvation with everybody you possibly can. They're free to get yours, call ericode 812-867-2418 and tell us how many you will prayerfully distribute. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. John 3 17, New King James Version. As you continue to read the third chapter of John, you will understand what condemnation is and what redemption is all about and why Jesus came. He came to save sinners. He died for our sins, he was buried, and he rose again, and that story is still untold. So many people really don't know who Jesus is. They don't understand the virgin-born babe became the sin-bearer of the world one by one, person by person and individual by individual. We're to call on His name and He will give us eternal life. There are people you know who don't yet know Jesus. Will you tell them how to get to heaven? We have a special thing for you. It's called God's ABCs. It has John 3 16 printed in the middle, along with the verses from Romans. These copies are free. We send out hundreds to listeners like you, but have you ordered yours yet? To get yours, call 812-867-2418. That's 812-867-2418. And let us know how many you will prayerfully use, and we'll get them right out to you. Every Saturday at 7.27 p.m. You are invited to attend a live youth event at Triple T, 13,000 US-41 North at Booneville and Harmony Road, midway between I-64 and Evansville Regional Airport. Every first Saturday a good news club for ages 6 to 9 is available in a separate room. For more information call 812-867-2418 or visit www.tripletchristianyouth.org. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. First Timothy, 2, 3, and 4, New King James Version. Saturday, December 28, 1 week from today. Mary and I at Triple T Christian Youth Ministries will celebrate 2,500 youth events, the Lord willing. Nearly 48 years of consecutive Saturdays without one single miss so far, including blizzards and holidays. This milestone began February 5, 1966 with two teenagers. God used caring people to provide the down payment on a house in two and a third acres to serve as headquarters for the fledgling Christian youth ministry, including living quarters for our family, and we named it the Triple T. In the living room that first evening, I promised there will be an event here for teenagers every Saturday God willing for the next 30 years. We will always present the Gospel and invitation to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. We had an 11-month-old daughter and unknown to us, a baby boy on the way. Over the next decades, thousands upon thousands of Tri-State teenagers have been taught, equipped, and ministered to on Saturday nights, and multiple ways between Saturdays. Dozens of cars, vans, and even buses have logged several million miles crisscrossing to Tri-State to and from small towns and rural communities in Triple T. Located midway between I-64 and Evansville Regional Airport, at 13,000 US Highway 41 North at Booneville and Harmony Road, Triple T has been the scene of exciting happenings every single Saturday. That baby girl, Tammy Lee Dooms, is now an attorney and CPA and is Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Triple T. Christian Youth Ministries. Our baby boy, James Lawson, born six months after Triple T's first Saturday. Today is producing radio and he produces video too. For Telling the Truth, our radio broadcast is now heard on 38 stations in nine states and by podcast and Triple T's website. Triple T Saturday events moved from the living room to the basement, then to the three car garage, and under the driveway, before Triple T Christian Communication Center was constructed. Local church facilities were used during the Winter months, a Presbyterian Gym one year, a Lutheran Gym the next, and a Baptist Auditorium the next. The 13,000 square foot facility was dedicated in November 1978. The 4-H Auditorium, Vanderbilt Auditorium, Robert Stadium, many, many local church auditoriums and other venues have been utilized for major Saturday evenings and other happenings. At the end of 30 years, for our 1500th consecutive Saturday, we invited Billy Graham's son, Franklin, to come and be our guest speaker. But Franklin said, "I can't." He said, "I promised my daddy I'd be at the Atlantic Crusade. Can I come from the 1499th?" And we said, "Sure." And he did. Tammy and I were then at the Atlantic Crusade for the wrap-up meeting at the Georgia Dome. Well, that was almost a thousand Saturdays ago, and we're still going. Youth from all 50 states, from 40 nations, on all six populated continents, have come to Triple T to be trained in peer evangelism and have participated at Triple T Saturday nights. Thousands of youth have been trained as tigers, teens involved, going, evangelizing regularly. Now they are scattered worldwide. We just got word from two of our former students who dedicated their lives to the Lord through our ministry. One contacted us from Germany, where he and his brother are in a church planting ministry in the Black Forest of Germany. The other came from Thailand, a young lady who said, "One day I believe God wants me to be either a missionary or a nurse." And then she contacted us and said, "Now, guess what? I'm both." And she and her husband have a wonderful ministry in Thailand. And on it goes as we've received messages from people around the world, literally, from every one of the six populated continents, from country after country, person after person, formerly attending Triple T Saturday nights. Well, again, we have had the privilege between Saturdays of taking the team and guests to minister to over 300 local church congregations affiliated with many different denominations in Illinois, in the Anna and Kentucky communities. The Triple T teams and I have held evangelistic youth efforts and events at our near over 100 tri-state high schools and middle schools. Each year, Triple T teams share God's good news one-on-one at county fairs and street festivals in all three states. Last summer, we shared with over 3,000 individually. Hundreds of adult Tiger teammates invest time, talent, and treasure to help keep Triple T Christian youth ministries going. By the way, you're invited to be a Tiger teammate. How? By investing just $20, that makes you a Tiger teammate encourager. Investing $20 or more monthly makes you a Tiger teammate in larger. And those who are investing $100 a month or more are what we call Tiger Team Expanders. And God is leading us to expand the ministry way beyond where we are now. December 28, from 2 p.m. through 727 p.m. youth event, there will be an open house celebration and projection for the next three years and beyond. With Triple T alumni, Creative Christian Communicators, and other special guests. In 2014, 2015, 2016, we are using what we call the trimester plan. January, February, March, and April of this coming year. We will be launching and unveiling and then putting into effect trying the run to see what happens and how it can be improved of what we call restart. A plan to motivate Christian teenagers to make the commitment to be at their local Bible-believing Church Sunday School or youth group every single Sunday. Six weeks before Easter, Easter Sunday, and two weeks after. That will be repeated again in 2015 and 2016, the Lord willing. In the summer, May, June, July, and August will be preparing for and executing fair share. We've got people coming from across the nation again to serve through Teen Missions International to go with us to the fairs. We'll be working together with Teen Missions consistently as we have been. And we will work in every area that we can as many as possible of the 93 counties. Last summer, we were in 31 counties while during the year of 2013, and next year, the goal is 62. The next year, all 93 counties. And so God helping us as we expand the number of people who will invest time and talent and treasure, we can pull out the stops and reach forward in wonderful ways. The theme for Triple T's 2500 consecutive Saturday is "Reaching for the Stars." It's based on Philippians 3, 13, and 14. Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended, but one thing I do for getting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead. I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. That's right, for getting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead. There are hundreds of people, thousands of people who don't know Jesus, who live within the 100 miles of where we are seated right now, talking with you. In that 100-mile radius, there are over 400,000 10 to 19-year-olds, and we've got to reach every one of them. Our mission is precise and concise. Every youth before turning 20 to have the opportunity to hear the gospel with an invitation to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. And that's who we are, and that's what we do, and that's why we do it. Our mission is to communicate Christianity to and through teenagers, to win them to Christ, to train them for Christ, teaching them how to share their faith through their local churches on their campuses, throughout their communities, and into their world where God leads them in their future. Tiger Team is the method that God uses to reach kids. All triple T activities involve Tiger Team peer evangelism and leadership training. The key action plan provides biblical and practical use of evangelism training and resources for adult youth workers. Evangelistic youth efforts are conducted in local communities in partnership with local churches and Christian organizations. The goal for 2014 is to go back to Mount Carmel Illinois in my hometown and put together these trimester activities. Stay tuned and we'll explain more about how it works and how you can be a vital part of all of this. [Music] As a junior in high school, Mount Carmel Illinois, I dedicated my life to the Lord on the basis of Romans 12, 1, and 2. I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God that you present your bodies, a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may prove what is at good and acceptable and perfect will of God. When I said yes to Jesus, totally yes, a complete yes, an unreserved yes, God took me, made me usable, and helped me to have a compassion for others. When I was five years old, I moved across the street from a young man who was six. We grew up together, went to the same church, and then he drifted away from everything spiritual. And I was burdened for him, and I began to pray for him, and I began to talk to him about coming back. And then I found out that he was really, really searching, and I said, "I've got an idea." And I used a very special tool to invite him to come and go with me to a youth rally in Princeton, Indiana on Monday night. And he did. And the next night we went back there because we were invited to a Bible study by some teenagers. And the next night he came by my house and he said, "Guess where I'm going tonight?" I said, "I don't know." He said, "I'm going with you." I said, "Pete, it's Wednesday. I go to church on Wednesday nights." He said, "I know, I'm going with you." And I realized it got it grabbed him by the heart, and he would never be the same. The end of my junior year, his senior year, he had decided to go to Bible college. And we decided to reach as many people in Mount Carmel as we possibly could. And so we went to the fairgrounds, and we stood at the base of the grandstand. And we gave copies of God's simple plan of salvation to every person we possibly could, hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of them. I recruited my trombone seatmate, Don Brown, and I said, "Don, why don't you come and help us give these out?" He said, "I don't think so." I said, "Oh, come on, do it." And so he did. And as a result of that, walking home that night, Don Brown totally gave his heart and his life to the Lord Jesus Christ. Fast forward. Pete went to school in St. Louis. I attended Youth for Christ with him in St. Louis as I visited him. Just before going over to St. Louis, Mary and I had our first date. Then we began to put together Youth for Christ from Mount Carmel. I had been privileged to be at Indianapolis Youth for Christ for the fifth anniversary in May of that year, 1948. And so God used wonderful things to cause us to reach out to people. And on the first Saturday of December, we had our rally, the first Youth for Christ rally in Mount Carmel. And on it went, Mary and I dated, putting together these Youth rallies. I graduated from high school, enrolled in Greenville College with five other of my classmates over in Greenville, Illinois. And I came home on a Saturday night and a Sunday. I went to church, and at Sunday school I got a copy of a church magazine called Power. And the story was, what happened to the lanky first sacker? It was a story of Billy Graham. Nobody much had heard about him at that time. But after that article was written before it was distributed, he had had the crusade in Los Angeles, California, and made headlines worldwide. And so that Sunday, I read his story, and then I heard something else. Billy's going to be at the Ebizore Rescue Mission on Monday and Tuesday nights. So I got some guys from Greenville, we got a carload, we came back. Through Mount Carmel picked up Mary, went to the street because there was no room inside and listened for the first time. And Billy Graham said, "I got my Slanted Evangelism at Bob Jones University. Come Saturday night to the youth rally and hear Bob Jones Sr." So Mary and I went back and we heard him say the very same thing. Billy got his Slanted Evangelism at our school. As a result of that and some other things, that fall, in August, we moved to Greenville, South Carolina. And I became a student at Bob Jones and graduated in 1954. God has used us in evangelism because we got our slant on evangelism. The same place Billy got his. Christ through you can change the world. Every Saturday at 7.27 p.m. you are invited to attend a live youth event at Triple T. 13,000 US-41 North at Booneville near Harmony Road, midway between I-64 and Evansville Regional Airport.
