Telling The TRUTH
121413 Telling The Truth 28 Minute Program
[music] You're listening to "Telling the Truth" from Triple T. Christian Youth Ministries, "Telling the Truth to and Through Teenagers." Here is Triple T. founder and president, George Dooms. Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the gospel according to the power of God who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began. 2 Timothy 1, last phrase of verse 8, and all of verse 9, New King James Version. The gospel. It is only the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ that lets us know who Jesus is. What God did to send His Son into the world, not to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. And it is according to the power of God who has saved us and called us with a holy calling. You see, every believer has been called by God to serve the Lord. God wants us to invest our time, our talent, and our treasure for the furtherance of the gospel. God wants you and me to know that He cares about us, but He wants us to go forth, to go forward with the good news. So make sure you are reading the Word of God. Make certain that you have prayer partners who also believe the Bible, and then together determine the strategy to take the gospel to people who need the Lord. When you do these things, God will bless abundantly, and people will be saved. Listen to a special message, Titus 3, verses 4 and 5, New King James Version. And when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward men appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us with the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit. That's how it works. When you turn to Jesus from your sins, God will give you a wonderful life that lasts forever. But it's not by your righteousness, but by God's mercy that He will save you and me. So once this has happened and once we ascertain what God has done and how it has all come about, then it becomes our responsibility as well as our series of opportunities to do what God says to do, to bask in the fullness of His love, to read the Word of God, to put it into our hearts, to share it with others, especially other believers, and together to claim victories for the people who don't yet know the Lord. When we do what God wants us to do, we can accomplish His purpose and people will come to know Him whom to know right is life eternal. Would you go today and tell somebody? Jesus Christ died for our sins. He was buried and He rose again on the third day. By turning to Him from sin, by believing we can have life forever. Listen to a marvelous short story from Isaiah 6, 8, New King James Version. Also I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send and who will go for us?" Then I said, "Here am I, send me." The profundity of that statement is absolutely magnificent. First of all, the question is, "Whom shall I send and who will go for us?" The "us" means the Trinity, God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit. And it was Isaiah's response to change the world when he said, "Here am I, send me." What about you? Can you say that to God? Can you say, "Here am I, send me wherever you want me to go, under whatever circumstances you want me to go with the gospel?" I believe that God wants every one of us to come to the point and position in our lives where we can say, "Here am I, send me into my world with the glorious gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Somebody is waiting for you to tell them the truth. Will you let God send you? Will you obey the prompting of the Holy Spirit and the scriptures and go tell somebody today? Let them know that Jesus saves. The world is waiting to hear about God's love. Matthew 9, 37, 38, New King James says. And he said to his disciples, "The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few, therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest." Listen to that again. We are to pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest. Are you willing to pray? Are you willing to pray for laborers? Or going to pray personally, "Lord, do you want me to be a labor in your harvest field? Do you want me to take the gospel to people? Do you want me to fellowship with other believers? Do you want me to read the Word of God and do what the Word of God tells me to do? Do you want me to be all you would have me to be in your harvest field? God will answer your prayers if you will say, "Yes, here am I, send me." That's what Isaiah did and that's what you can do and that's what I have done and want to continue to do. Again, there are people waiting to hear the truth that Christ died for our sins and he was buried that he rose again on the third day and if they will believe on him, turning to him from their sins, being willing to tell other people about him and how to get to heaven themselves, then the world can change. It's really up to you and me to share that glorious good news of the saving power of Jesus Christ. Will you? Serving the Lord is not without problems. Problems are out there and they could be your problems but be willing to go anyhow with the glorious gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Matthew 1016, New King James says, "Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves." That takes some very, very earnest praying, some deep thinking, and absolute, unreserved dedication to be as wise as serpents and harmless as a dove. But that's what God would have us to do. That is who we ought to be and then we ought to gently but firmly and urgently tell people how to get to heaven, that to know that everybody everywhere is a sinner, all have sinned and fall short of God's glory. Jesus said God loved the world so much that he sent his only begotten son that our beliefs on him will live forever. And then we're to tell people, "Confess with your mouth, O Lord Jesus, believing in your heart that God did indeed raise him from the dead." Would you do that? Will you tell somebody? Will you share the gospel? Will you do it today? Someone is waiting for you to tell them how to get to heaven. It's really up to you. The responsibility is yours, will you? God is preparing to send John the Baptist out as the advanced man for Jesus. Listen to Matthew 1110, New King James Version, "For this is he of whom it is written, 'Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will prepare your way before you.'" That's the promise God gave to Jesus regarding John the Baptist. And when John the Baptist went, he had a message. It was a very special message, and I want you to listen to John chapter 3, verse 36. He who believes in the Son has everlasting life, and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him." That's a quote from John the Baptist from John chapter 3, the famous chapter in which Jesus shared John 3, 16, 17, and 18. Now today, because you know that people who have not believed on the Lord Jesus have the wrath of God abiding on them, have compassion on those people, and go to them with the truth and tell them how to get to heaven, let them know that Jesus loved them, that Christ died for them, that if they will believe on him, they can live forever. You know the truth, who will you tell today? Listen to what God said, "Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will prepare your way before you." The voice of one crying in the wilderness, "Prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths straight." Mark 1, 2 and 3, New King James Version, "Yes, God sent John the Baptist to let the world know that Jesus was coming, and then, when it was that moment of truth, it was John who said, "Behold, the Lamb of God who comes to take away the sins of the world." That Lamb of God, the Lord Jesus Christ, would live perfectly. He was born of a virgin. He never yielded a temptation, although temptations came his way. He walked, he talked, he healed, he touched, and he preached, and people came to know him. Listen to the challenge. Will you go and share the truth? Will you tell people that the Messiah has come, the Lamb of God, to take away the sins of the world? Read Hebrews. No more blood of bulls and goats and sheep. The Lamb of God died and rose again, and the blood of Jesus Christ God's Son cleanses from all sin. Tell that story. Tell the Jesus story. It's Christmas time, and it's time to let the world know why Christ came. He came to save sinners. Every Saturday at 7.27 p.m. you are invited to attend a live youth event at Triple T, 13,000 US-41 North at Booneville, New Harmony Road, midway between I-64 and Evansville Regional Airport. Only for Saturday a good news club for ages 6 to 9 is available in a separate room. For more information call 812-867-2418 or visit www.tripletchristianyouth.org. On Saturday, December 28, 2013, Mary and I hear a Triple T Christian Youth Ministries. God willing will celebrate 2,500 youth events, nearly 48 years of consecutive Saturdays without one single mess, including blizzards and holidays and more. The milestone began February 5, 1966 with two teenagers. God used caring people to provide the down payment on a house in two and a third acres, to serve as headquarters for the fledgling Christian youth ministry, including living quarters for our family. We named it the Triple T. In the living room that first evening, I promised we'll be here for an event for teenagers every Saturday God willing for at least 30 years. We'll always present the gospel and an invitation to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. We had an 11-month-old daughter and unknown to us, a baby boy, on the way. Over the next decades, thousands upon thousands of tri-state teenagers have been taught, equipped, and ministered to on Saturday nights, and multiple ways between Saturdays. Dozens of cars, vans, and even buses have logged several million miles criss-crossing the tri-state to and from small towns and rural communities and Triple T, located midway between I-64 and Evansville Regional Airport at 13,000 U.S. Highway 41 North at Booneville, New Harmony Road. Our baby girl, Temmie Lee Dooms, is now an attorney and a CPA and his Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Triple T. Christian Youth Ministries. Our baby boy, James Lawson, born six months after Triple T's first Saturday, today produces radio and video for Chilling the Truth Radio, heard on 38 stations in nine states, and by podcast and Triple T's website. Triple T Saturday events move from the living room to the basement, then to the three-car garage and under the driveway before Triple T Christian Communication Center was constructed. Local church facilities were used during the winter months, a Presbyterian gym one year, a Lutheran gym the next, and a Baptist Auditorium the next. The 13,000-square-foot facility was dedicated in November 1978. The 4-H Auditorium, Vandenberg Auditorium, Robert Stadium, and other venues have been utilized for major Saturday evenings. Youth from all 50 states and 40 nations on all six populated continents have come to Triple T to be trained in peer evangelism and have participated at Triple T Saturday nights. Now they are back all over the world, sharing God's glorious gospel in the methodology that was taught them right here at Triple T. Thousands of youth have been trained as tigers, teens involved, going, evangelizing regularly. Between Saturdays, the Triple T team and I and guests have ministered in over 300 local church congregations affiliated with many different denominations in Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky communities. Triple T teams have held evangelistic youth efforts and events at or near over 100 tri-state high schools and middle schools. Each year, Triple T teams share God's good news one-on-one at county fairs and street festivals in all three states. Hundreds of adult tiger teammates invest their time, their talent, and their treasure to keep Triple T Christian youth ministries going from this 30-acre campus located at the corner of U.S. 41 North and Boone on a Harmony Road. December 28 at Triple T, from 2 p.m. through 727 p.m., the youth event, there will be an open house celebration and projection for the next three years and beyond with Triple T alumni, creative Christian communicators, and other special guests. The theme for Triple T's 2,500th consecutive Saturday, "Reaching for the Stars" is based on Philippians 3, 13, 14. Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended, but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. We want to give you a very personal invitation to be with us on Saturday night or Saturday afternoon December 28 here at Triple T. It's going to be an exciting time as we flash back over what God has done across the years and over the miles. In addition to what is happening here and all those things that have already shared, we are affiliated with a number of Christian youth ministries. We maintain a culture of cooperation, and we have a very wonderful relationship with Teen Missions International, AIDS Orphans and Street Children, the Motorcycle Sunday School Mission, and we call it the Tiger Team Impact Coalition. And because we work together, we are now privileged to sponsor Sunday schools all across Africa, and we have just inaugurated our very first Sunday school, serviced by motorcycles, facilitators trained at BMW. That means Bible, missionary, work training centers across the world, and they are now working to share the gospel in Borneo, in Indonesia, and Triple T had the opportunity of having the sponsorship of the very first Sunday school there just last month, and it will be ongoing in the days ahead. There are now 12 Sunday schools, two circuits of 6 each, there in Borneo, there will be others added across Indonesia, more in Africa, and later, probably in Central America and even North America. It's a delight and a privilege to consistently work with Teen Missions International. Triple T is also the headquarters of Youth Evangelism Association. Our ministries are scattered across the country. Affiliates are from Washington State to Florida, New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, North Carolina, and on it goes, people sharing the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ with youth, where they are, and here across the tri-state, Indiana, Illinois, and Kentucky, and God's been gracious and good and wonderful. In the summer, we had the privilege of going out to the county fairs, and we had people with us from Teen Missions International, and they came from all over the United States to be partners with us. Over 83 people worked in partnership, taking the gospel to county fairs and street festivals. And then in October, we hosted the Youth Evangelism Association 40th Anniversary Convention and Youth Workers' Intensive Training. Again, we're delighted because of what God has done, and on the 28th of December, God willing, we're going to be launching something that we call restart. It's an opportunity to share the gospel through local Bible-believing Sunday schools and church youth groups. We'll be training adults who will be taught how to be coaches and we'll be training teenagers in peer evangelism. Do you know that the majority of 10 to 19-year-olds in your town do not attend church, Sunday school, or youth group meetings? Restart is a key action plan to reach detached Sunday school and our church youth dropouts or those who have never are seldom attended. Restart is a concerted effort to stop the spiritual fallout of youth. Restart challenges and equips preteens and teenagers to be involved in Bible-believing Sunday schools and our local church youth groups for nine weeks and invite and bring their friends to have the opportunity to hear the gospel with an invitation to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. The purpose is to keep evangelizing youth. A nine-week Youth Evangelism Academy will be available online beginning January 2014 to prepare key youth workers to activate restart. Let it be said of you and your town, those who have turned the world upside down have come here too. Restart itself begins March the 9th, 2014, six weeks before Easter, goes through Easter April 20 and continues for two weeks after Easter through May 4, nine weeks total. The gospel will be presented via DVD and one of the nine fast-paced faith factors will be provided with Bible challenges and an invitation to believe on the Lord Jesus. Restart will continue in 2015 before Easter and after and in 2016. We want to let you know about this and we have information that's in your way. It's called Restart your Sunday School or Local Church Youth Group and you can get yours free by calling area code 812-867-2418. That phone number, area code 812-867-2418. Stay tuned for more information about what's happening and how you can participate. Bless the Lord, O my soul and all that is within me. Bless His holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul and forget not all His benefits, who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from destruction, who crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies, who satisfies your mouth with good things so that your youth is renewed like the Eagles. Psalm 103, 1-5, New King James Version. As a family we are claiming that Scripture, we believe the Bible is totally true and we have friends from around the world, all over the country and nearby, who are praying with us and for us and together we anticipate God's continuing blessings. The Lord willing there will be an event of triple T every single Saturday. December 7 was not an exception. Last Saturday night it was a slick night, but God brought people and we were so delighted because one teenager's mother called and said, "Can you come and get my son?" And a couple of his nephews. And so Shelly Bernard on our staff went into Evansville to pick up these three plus another young lady. Others came from Warwick County and God blessed and we had 15 at triple T on the night before most of the churches in the tri-state were closed. But God helped us to have a wonderful time celebrating Jesus' birthday. We had a birthday cake and it had three layers. The bottom layer was chocolate or black representing our sins. On top of that was a red layer representing the blood of Jesus Christ shed to cleanse us from all sin and unrighteousness. On top of that was a layer of green representing growing in Christ. Once we have admitted we have sinned, believed in the Lord Jesus and are willing to tell other people about Him. The cake was covered with white icing and all around the peripheral of the cake were red hearts representing people who have gone into the world and are scattered now around the world as sharing the gospel. At the top of the cake there was a gold star of David and on top of that or in the middle of that was a large red candle. And everyone gathered around, we prayed, we sang silent night and we shared the gospel. And one young man who had been with us for each Saturday, and this was his seventh consecutive Saturday, responded to the invitation. He was the one whose mother called and said, "Can you come and pick up my son who really wants to come?" And that night one of our board members, Jeff Mobley, had the privilege of praying with this young man and helping him come to know Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and forgiver. We're thrilled because of what God has done and again the Lord has helped us for 47 years and 10 months in counting not to miss a single Saturday. And we're looking forward to tonight and then next Saturday, of course the 28th as we will celebrate 2,500 consecutive Saturdays God willing here at Triple T. Please pray for the plans and preparations for the 2,500th Saturday and please be with us if you possibly can. There's going to be an open house from 2 o'clock through the 7.27 p.m. youth event together toward tomorrow an ongoing impact tells the continuing story of the events of America 1931 to now and projecting to 2020 and beyond. Creative Christian communicators, Triple T alumni and special guests will be spotlighted. Since May 13, 2013, when 1,000 days of prayer and action began, the Lord has graciously guided the Triple T team and guests to share the gospel personally, one-on-one with over 4,000 youth and adults. Thousands view Triple T believe on the Lord Jesus Christ billboards 24/7. An additional 15 have just been ordered and will be placed on a space available basis. Only God knows how many hear telling the truth 2-minute radio program, it's being broadcast daily on 38 stations in 9 states and by podcast and Triple T's website anytime anywhere. On December 28, restart is to be launched. As I shared it's a concept to grow local church youth groups and Sunday schools through involvement and pure evangelism. We want you to know all about this and we invite you to even come tonight and be a part of Triple T on a Saturday night. Pray with us and for us and know that you are very important to all of us. Christ through you can change the world. Every Saturday at 7.27pm you are invited to attend a live youth event at Triple T, 13,000 US-41 north at Booneville and Harmony Road, midway between I-64 and Evansville Regional Airport. Every first Saturday a good news club for ages 6 to 9 is available in a separate room. For more information call 812-867-2418 or visit www.tripletchristianyouth.org.
