Telling The TRUTH
120713 Telling The Truth 28 Minute Program
[music] You're listening to "Telling the Truth" from Triple T. Christian Youth Ministries, "Telling the Truth to and Through Teenagers." Here is Triple T. Founder and President George Dumes. "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, for whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans 10, 13, New King James Version. So many people in our world have not called on the name of the Lord. They don't know who Jesus really is. They don't realize that everybody who has not yet believed is condemned already because they have not believed. So today, make sure you have believed on the Lord Jesus. And if you have, pray for those you know in your sphere of influence who haven't. Those that you could reach and share God's great wonderful news with if you are a believer. So today, make it a day of prayerful concern. Pray with other believers and God's word together can knit you, especially read John chapter 3. Let God speak to your heart and let him ignite in you the impetus to reach people for Jesus. And as you read God's word, as you pray together, then determine who needs to know Jesus. Go and share God's great wonderful news that Christ died for our sins, that he was buried, and that he rose again on the third day. Know that when you do, wonderful things can happen. Share God's ABCs, and if you don't have some to share with people, call us or write us and we'll get them right to you. So many people are unaware of what the cross is really about. Listen to 1 Corinthians 1, 18, New King James Version. "For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved, it is the power of God. It was on the cross that Jesus Christ died for our sins. Then he was buried and rose again on the third day. And as we look back to the cross, that old rugged cross, not the one that dangles around the necks of people, not even the ones that are on church steeples, but the one on which Jesus Christ died. These other crosses are symbolic and reminders of the real cross. How everyone you know to know that the cross is about life. That Christ came to save sinners, and because of the cross, we who believe on him can share our faith in him with others who have not yet believed. There are people you know who think the cross is foolishness, but know that they are perishing. Help them not to perish, but to be redeemed, to be saved, to be given a place in heaven forever with God. How? By believing on the Lord Jesus, share your faith today. We know that you know now how to be saved. Tell someone else Christ through you can change the world. Paul, God's ambassador to the world, especially to the Gentiles, had some marvelous things to say. Listen to 1 Corinthians 10, 32, 33, New King James Version. Give no offense, either to the Jews, or to the Greeks, or to the Church of God. Just as I also please all men in all things not seeking my own prophet, but the prophet of many, that they may be saved. That's a compassionate presentation of who Paul is, and whom we could be, and should be, and can be if we will catch the vision of people perishing that need Jesus. And if we pray with other believers, if we can fellowship with them around the Word of God, if we can find it in our heart of hearts to go to those who have not yet believed in the Lord Jesus, we can have a tremendous impact, personally, on at least one person, or many others, if we will go with the Gospel. Some people know who Jesus is, that he died, that he was buried, that he rose again. He is the risen Christ, the Savior who wants to invade the heart of anyone who believe on him. But others still don't know him. Will you go with the Gospel today? We have God's ABCs. We would like to have you have so that you can share them with people who need the Lord. Just write us or call us, and we'll get them out to you. Become aware of the fact that everybody you come in contact with this very day is headed for Heaven or Hell. They are either saved or lost, redeemed or condemned already. Listen to 2 Corinthians 2, 15 and 16 New King James Version. For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing. To the one we are the aroma of death to death, and to the other the aroma of life to life. And who is sufficient for these things? You see, God wants us to know that we need to go with the Gospel wherever we can, whenever we can, as often as we can. Please understand that everybody is headed for eternity to Heaven or to Hell, with God or away from Him. The only way to get to Heaven is to believe on the Lord Jesus, to turn to Him from sin, to let others know that he, Jesus, is alive because he rose from the dead. Take that message, pray with other believers, and determine to share God's Word with people who need the Lord. There is somebody waiting for you. Will you tell Him or her how to get to Heaven? We would like to send God's ABCs to you so that you can share them with people who need the Lord. They are very scriptural, and you can use them for God's glory. But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ by grace you have been saved. Ephesians 2, 4 and 5, New King James Version. Of course, that's true for you, if you have admitted you have sinned, if you have turned to Jesus from your sins, if you have believed on Him and told others that Jesus Christ is alive. God wants us to understand that salvation comes by grace through faith, and together you and I can bask in the wonders of God's love, and we can also know that because He is rich in mercy, we should have compassion on those who have not yet believed. Find a Christian who believes the Bible is totally true, pray with him or her, and then together determine to take the Gospel to people who don't yet know the Lord. Those who have not been saved. God can make you usable, and He can use you today to tell someone the truth. Jesus saves. Will you do that? Will you pray? Will you read the Word of God? Read the whole second chapter of Ephesians, and then go with the Gospel. We have copies of God's ABCs to send to you. They are free. All you have to do is call or write, and we'll get them to you so that you can share God's wonderful plan of salvation with your friends. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that none of yourselves is the gift of God. Ephesians 2, 8, New King James Version. The gift of God, the greatest gift. Christ came to save sinners. Thanks be to God for His unspeakable gift. The gift of His Son, the sinless Lord Jesus, who became sin for you and for me, who died for our sins, who was buried, and who rose again and is alive right now and interceding at the right hand of God the Father when we pray. Jesus died for our sins. He wants us to live for Him now, will you? Will you pray with other believers? Will you confess Christ publicly to everybody you possibly can? Will you share the good news with people who need the Lord? Will you get a compassion for those who are lost and understand that everybody is condemned until they have believed on the Lord Jesus? Let's go with the Gospel. Let's go fervently. Let's go enthusiastically, and let's go urgently. Know that when you go and tell people that Christ died for our sins, was buried and rose again, by believing they can be saved. We have God's ABCs to put into your hands to distribute to people one-on-one who need the Lord. Just write us or call us, and we'll get them to you right away. Listen to 1 Timothy 2, verses 3 and 4, New King James Version. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. What is the truth? Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life." No one comes to the Father except through Me. That's the truth. Let's tell the truth to everybody we can. Let's continue fellowshiping with other believers around the Word of God, and let's take God's Word, the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, to people who need to be saved. Because that's God's desire that all men should be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. But the way the truth gets to people is for folk like you and me to tell the truth, to share the truth. So, it's up to us. I can't go where you are, and you can't go where I can go. But each one of us can go where we ought to go to the people who need the Lord. God does not want anybody to perish. He wants all men to be saved. Will you tell somebody today how to be saved? You can, if you will. Again, we have God's ABCs. We'd like to put into your hands so that you can give them to other people and put them in their hands so they can know how to get to heaven. Every Saturday at 7.27 p.m. you are invited to attend a live youth event at Triple T, 13,000 US-41 North at Booneville in Harmony Road, midway between I-64 and Evansville Regional Airport. Every first Saturday, a good news club for ages 6 to 9 is available in a separate room. For more information call 812-867-2418 or visit www.tripletchristianyouth.org. It began with just two teenagers in our living room. And that night, back in 1966, the first Saturday of February, I said we planned to have a meeting here. Every Saturday for the next 30 years, we will always share the Gospel and invitation to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Those two teenagers didn't come back the second Saturday, but two others did. And from then on, there were more than two every single Saturday until Christmas Eve went again. It was two. Soon, God did something very special. It was over a year, almost a year and a half, before something magnificent happened. On that night, in 1967, I was praying diligently for God to send us some guys that would become involved in reaching their friends for Christ and would understand the message of Romans 12 1 and 2. I would see you, therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God that you present your bodies, a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. Be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may prove what is a good and acceptable and perfect will of God. And that came on the door, and two guys came in having hitchhiked because they blew a tire on the Honda motorcycle they were driving. And that night, God used His Word to speak to the hearts of those two young men. Our goal was to not only fill the living room, but to be able to move downstairs and to hit a hundred within 13 weeks. That was our challenge. Within six weeks, we had hit a hundred, and we didn't go under that one hundred mark all during that fall. In the spring, we moved out from our basement to the three-car garage and spilled into the driveway. Then it wasn't long before we had to go to other locations because we had no room. And so during the school year, we went to 26 different churches, 26 Saturday nights, a different facility. Every Saturday we lost whole busloads of kids because they couldn't remember which Saturday we were going to go where. And so the next year, after being back at Triple T in the summertime in the garage in the driveway, we moved into Olivet, Presbyterian, gymnasium, and then back to Triple T. The next year, in the fall, a manual Lutheran church way out in the north part of the county. Then back at Triple T. The next year, Oak Hill Baptist Auditorium. And then by that time, we were really seriously contemplating what it would take to build the Triple T Christian Communication Center. We went through plan after plan, design after design, and it was all too expensive. And finally, we determined that we were going to cut it down and make it livable and make it affordable. We had no money, but we had to raise all the funds, but we certainly couldn't raise as much as we were trying to. At least we didn't think we could at that time and we were probably right. But God helped us to build the Christian Communication Center. And as we did, God enabled us to increase the number of people, not just the basement and the driveway, but now a facility that could have three and four hundred and more. One Saturday night, we went over the 700 mark inside the building. One Saturday, we had 1,200 on the grounds and then took those people in a car caravan down to Robert Stadium, where with Lowell Lundstrom on Youth Night, we had 8,000 at the stadium. On another Saturday, as we had trained people on how to share their faith in Christ and how to present the gospel, how to tell people that they had to admit that they had sinned for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God, to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life, than to confess Christ publicly. If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him in the dead, you will be saved. For with a heart one believes to righteousness and with the mouth confession is made a salvation. And so that night, working with a very, very effective communicator, with his band and singers and all the people that came with his entourage, Robert Stadium was filled to capacity with over 13,000 people. And we had trained the counselors, teenagers were sharing their faith in Christ. Instead of one-on-one the way we thought it was going to be, they were sharing with five and ten at a time because so many responded to the invitation. Saturday by Saturday, Triple T's doors have never closed and God has been gracious and good and wonderful. What happened to some of those teenagers? Well, the two guys that came out on the Honda came because one of them had kicked out of class at North High School and had to cool his heels in the principal's office for a whole week. And that Saturday night, God grabbed his heart. Today he is one of the pastors at one of the significant churches in Evansville. And every Halloween he directs an event that attracts between 5,000 and 8,000 boys and girls. What a wonderful, wonderful legacy God has given us. Between Saturdays we have not only crisscrossed the tri-state but gone way beyond. We have taken busloads of teenagers to places like Washington, D.C. Dallas and Houston, Texas to Florida. And on one Christmas time between Christmas and New Years, we had a wonderful opportunity of having an event on the U.S.S. Franklin D. Roosevelt aircraft carrier. People have likened Triple T to an aircraft carrier because we send people out and bring them back and send them out and bring them back. It's not like a cruise ship where everybody just comes and stays, but they are here and then they go. And what a wonderful thing it is to see the flight deck so active all the time. And God's been gracious. When did we go to Florida? We went to Virginia. We went to the Space Center down in Alabama, on down to New Orleans. And God has been letting us travel, hither and yonder, especially to and from Florida. We've had people come to Triple T for training from 40 different nations. They have gone back after serving as missionaries to America and the United States and Canada for a year to their homes and they are now presenting the Gospel to people everywhere on all six continents. And they are praying for us and we for them. God has been gracious to us in letting us know that there are people who really care. God has allowed us to have people involved in ministry from here who have gone there. We have sent teenagers to at least 20 to 30 different nations, again on all six continents. We have gone from coast to coast and border to border with the Gospel, always coming back with an event on Saturday nights. We've never missed a Saturday so far. And God willing, on December 28th, it will be the 2,500 consecutive Saturday that we have had the privilege of sharing the glorious Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ with teenagers. There has never been a ministry like this one that has this longevity. I got a letter just yesterday from a very special friend who was commending us for keeping on, keeping on. It was her husband, Al Metzger, who challenged us when we accepted the call to come to the Tri-State to direct what was then called Tri-State is for Christ. He said, "Okay, if you say yes, then go there, stay there and be there." I said, "I know what you mean when you say go there and stay there, but what do you mean when you say be there?" He said, "George, you've been traveling all over the country before you came to the Tri-State to establish triple T to found this ministry, and you're going to get those invitations." So if you get an invitation, just don't go on a Saturday unless it's the exception to the rule. Make sure that the ministry keeps going and that you're there by far the majority of the time every single Saturday. And God's been gracious in allowing us to do that. Inviting Metzger said, "What a wonderful thing it is to see that you're keeping on, keeping on." You see, the Metzgers were able to work together for 50 years every single Saturday, almost without exception. And they were the mentors that we had, that we learned from, and now we're endeavoring to do the same thing. God willing, on the 1st of February, it will be Triple T's 48th birthday. And then the next year, our Jubilee year, and God willing, on the 6th of February 2016, it will be our 50th or our golden anniversary. Pray that we'll be able to do that, that we'll be able to maintain the momentum and reach out way, way beyond here. In addition to what we do at Triple T, I'm going to share with you in just a few moments what's going on in various parts of the world because of what happens here on Saturday nights. God has been gracious and wonderful and good in giving us a fantastic outreach on two continents. I'll share that with you in just a moment. So stay tuned, don't go away because it's an exciting story and something that I'm thrilled to be able to share. With you. In 1966, I became the Director of Tri-State Youth for Christ. And God blessed abundantly, but in 1973, we had to make a decision. The organization we were a part of changed their rules and they decided that no one should own property. Nobody should have radio stations or television stations or camps, but everybody should be like McDonald's with their very own little buildings if they had a building at all and they preferred you to rent those buildings. And so we had a problem, we had a dilemma. There were five of us that had properties and had already developed those properties into youth complexes. And Triple T had not done much yet, but we had 30 acres and we had a house and two and a third acres and we had the plans that we were working toward to build the Christian Communication Center. And so it happened in 1973 that Youth Evangelism Association began. Al Metzger was one of the founding directors of Youth for Christ International. And he started with his wife, Vidy. Kansas City Youth for Christ, way back in 1943. A year before Youth for Christ International was born and before it actually was organized in 1945. In 1948, Mary and I were in high school and we were part of a group that put together a Youth for Christ rally in our hometown of Mount Carmel, Illinois for a monthly event. In 1996, we formed a coalition with Teen Missions International, Age Orphans and Street Children and Triple T Christian Youth Ministries that we called Tiger Team Impact. And so together we have prayed about how to reach the world for the Lord Jesus Christ. Our slogan from "The Word Go" has been "Christ Through You" can change the world. And so the Age Orphans and Street Children spun off another ministry called the Motorcycle Sunday School Mission. The idea is to send circuit writers using motorcycles like the Wesley's did to put the Methodist ministry into effect all over America and so they go to a different village each day for six days. And they repeat going back to the same village the next week. And so these circuits are set up and all over Africa the circuits are going. Over 200 of them now and Triple T has the privilege of sponsoring 12 of those circuits. And the most wonderful news that we have to share with you is that in November, the nation of Borneo on the island of Indonesia, the continent of Asia started the first two Sunday school circuits. And Triple T got number one. And so we are sponsoring these circuit writers who go each day to a different village. The village chiefs have located in Africa and now in Asia. And the gospels presented in English as taught and it's a wonderful, wonderful ministry. And we're averaging between 100 and 200 kids in every Sunday school every single week. It's far larger than what we have here when you put it all together. And you see there are hundreds and hundreds even thousands of kids that are coming to hear the gospel week by week by week. And so we're excited about this particular ministry and all the other things that God has put on the plate for us to reach out across America. Youth events and association is headquartered here. Tammy, our daughter is the president now and has been the chief executive officer of YEA for some time. For 11 years, she served as president. And our facilities are all over the country and our affiliates are from Washington state to Florida. And we have affiliates in Pennsylvania, in New York, in Ohio, in North Carolina, and in Michigan, and in Alabama, and Illinois, and Indiana, and soon in Kentucky. And God's doing some very special things and we're excited about what God has done here and what he wants to do. But we want to give you a very special invitation. And you will hear it in kind of a spot announcement. But I want to let you know that we are thrilled that God is going to let us be here. Hopefully for more Saturdays until we have that 2,500 consecutive Saturday night on December 28 of this year, 2013. Mary and I opened the door of our home way back almost 48 years ago. And every Saturday people have come and we're thrilled about cause of what has already happened. We anticipate much more in the future. And so on the 28th of December, at that 2,500 Saturday night event, we're going to be explaining how we're reaching for the stars, especially for the next 3 years and beyond. We invite you to be with us Saturday, December 28, 2 o'clock through the rally, come to Triple T, bring your friends and experience something wonderful. Christ through you can change the world. Every Saturday at 7.27 p.m. you are invited to attend a live youth event at Triple T, 13,000 US-41 North at Boone Building Harmony Road, midway between I-64 and Evansville Regional Airport.
