Telling The TRUTH
110213 Telling The Truth 28 Minute Program
[music] You're listening to "Telling the Truth" from Triple T. Christian Youth Ministries, "Telling the Truth to and Through Teenagers." Here is Triple T. Founder and President George Dumes. "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and if by grace, then it is no longer of works. Otherwise, grace is no longer grace. But if it is of works, it is no longer grace. Otherwise, work is no longer work." Romans 11, 6, New King James Version. "Grace is God's unmerited favor, available to everybody who will believe on the Lord Jesus, who will turn to Him from their sins, who will receive from Him the gift of God eternal life." God wants us to know that grace is available, but meanwhile, back at the ranch, we have to do work. It's got to be done. To the work of an evangelist means to share the good news of the saving power of the Lord Jesus with everybody everywhere that we possibly can. So the question is, are you doing that? Are you sharing your faith? Are you putting the grace factor into effect by the way you live and the things that you say, the places you go, the people you reach? God can make you usable if you are willing. There are people waiting to hear. There are Christians that would like to pray with you as prayer partners. There are words in God's Word that can help you by hitting you in the heart. And there are people who need the Lord. Will you go to them with the good news of the saving power of the Lord Jesus? Do you know that God has a specific task for you to perform for Him if you are indeed a believer in the Lord Jesus? Listen to 2 Corinthians 9-8, New King James Version. "And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you always, having all sufficiency and all things, have abundance for every good work." Yes, there is a task to perform that God wants you to do for His glory. Good work happens when good people do the job that God calls them to do. Will you be one of those? Are there people that you can connect with as a prayer partner? Are there those that you can fellowship with that can help you grow in Christ? Are there words from God's Word that need to be embedded in your heart? Read the Scriptures and then pray diligently, effectively, and especially for people who need the Lord. That's one work you can do. And then you can do the work of telling others about the Lord Jesus Christ. Let them know that they need to admit they have sinned to believe on Christ, to confess Him publicly. You can do that if you will. Again, God has a purpose, a plan, a specific task for you to do for Him. The question is, will you do it? There are people waiting, waiting to hear the good news. It's up to you. Will you go to them and tell them how to get to heaven? You can, if you will. May I personalize some Scripture for you and for me. Many of you are praying for us in the ministry that God has given us to reach youth with the glorious gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. So if you are more than prayer partners, you are sharing your faith in Him with others. So let's take a long look prayerfully. 2 Corinthians 10-15, New King James says, "Not boasting of things beyond measure, that is in other men's labors, but having hope, that as your faith is increased, we shall be greatly enlarged by you in our sphere." Yes, when you pray you help things happen. You help the gospel go forward. You help people not only hear but believe and their lives are changed forever. They move from condemnation to redemption through the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. So as we work together, let's do it diligently. And if there are people that you would like for us to pray about with you, then let us know because God has a plan for you. People to reach, people with whom you can share the good news. Will you? Here's what to tell them. Admit you sin, believe on Christ, confess Him publicly. We have God's ABCs, we would like to send to you, they're free. Just let us know how many you'd like to have, and we'll get them right out to you so that you can share your faith effectively. Galatians 6, 4 and 5, New King James Version has a special message just for you. Listen. "But let each one examine his own work, and then he will have rejoicing in himself alone and not in another. For each one shall bear his own load." It's important we understand that God has set us apart to accomplish a purpose that will glorify Him. The major purpose that we have in life as believers is to tell others about Jesus, to help them move from their state of condemnation to salvation. God wants us to reach out, and He wants us to get the job done that He has called us to do personally and individually. There are things that you can do, that nobody can do quite the way you could do them if you will. So get a prayer partner, pray together, read God's Word together, and then determine after you have fellowship to go with the good news to people who need the Lord, someone that you know, someone for whom you have a concern. Give them God's ABCs. We will send you as many as you would like to distribute, they're free. It's God's Word, Romans 3, 23, Romans 6, 23, John 3, 16, Romans 10, 9 and 10. Call us, or write us, and we'll get them right out to you so you can share the gospel. Have you reflected recently on how great God really is? Listen to Hebrews 1, 10, New King James Version. "And you, Lord, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands." Wow, think about it. God put it all together, and He had you in mind and me in mind when He did it. God has a plan for every one of us, and He has work for us to do. He has done His work, He has accomplished His task, His purposes, and now He leaves it in our hands to accomplish what needs to be done in sharing the good news of the saving power of the Lord Jesus. Have you realized that everybody everywhere is condemned already until they believe? Jesus said that in John 3, 18. Take a look at it, and then have compassion, and go doing the work that it takes to do to pray with somebody about somebody who needs the Lord. Read the Word of God, do what the Word of God says to do, and then prayerfully approach a person or persons who need the Lord. Tell them how they get to heaven, and God will bless you and them forever. Send for your ABCs. We'll send them to you. Just call us or write us, and we will get them on their way. The number is area code 812-867-2418. Call now. Everyone who invests time, talent, or treasure in Triple T Christian Youth Ministries becomes a Tiger teammate. Today we salute all of you who have prayed with us or for us and have given to help this ministry go forward. Listen to the promise of Hebrews 610, New King James Version, just for you. For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love, which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints and do minister. When you pray, that's a ministry. When you give, that's a ministry. When you go with the gospel, that's a ministry. When you have fellowship with other believers, that can be a ministry too. So know that God will bless you as you continue investing what He has entrusted to you for the furtherance of the gospel of the Lord Jesus. May this be a very special day in your life. May you draw close to the Lord. We do have a special request. Pray for God to supply every need to help us reach more people like you with the gospel. And speaking of getting the gospel to people, have you sent yet for your ABCs? God's plan of salvation, we want to send you as many as you can prayerfully use. Call us, area code 812-867-2418. We'll get them right out to you and pray as you share. Some people think that revelation is so complex that they can never understand it. But here's a verse, Revelation 2-2, New King James, that is pretty forthright and simple to comprehend. Listen, I know your works, your labor, your patience, and that you cannot bear those who are evil. And you have tested those who say they are apostles and are not, and have found them liars. Yes, discrimination can come. Discernment can come to the believer who opens the Word of God, searches the scriptures, and finds what God has to say about the sheep and the goats, about the saved and the lost, about the redeemed and the condemned. God wants us to have compassion on those people who don't know the Lord. Do you? Will you go with the gospel to them? Will you accomplish his purpose? Will you work diligently today, reading the Word of God, praying, getting a prayer partner, and then determining to pray with patience and diligence, and then put into effect the prayers that go with you to share the gospel, the good news of the Lord Jesus with somebody or somebody's who need him today? Again, we have copies of God's ABCs to send to you. We want you to have as many as you would like to have, so call us, area code 812-867-2418, and let us know how many people you would like to reach. Every Saturday at 7.27 p.m., you are invited to attend a live youth event at Triple T, 13,000 US-41 North at Boondville and Harmony Road, midway between I-64 and Evansville Regional Airport. Every first Saturday, a good news club for ages 6 to 9 is available in a separate room. For more information, call 812-867-2418 or visit www.tripletchristianyouth.org. We're excited about what God's been doing across the tri-state. It's been an exciting time because of all the things that have been happening to people that God's brought into the picture. We have with us today a couple of people that I'm anxious for you all to meet. One is Sam and the other is Carly. We're going to talk with them one at a time and we're going to ask some questions and let you find out about them. First of all, Sam, where is home for you? Home for me is in Marianna, Florida, up in the panhandle. Marianna, Florida, up in the panhandle. When I was in college, I had a very special friend who was from that town. I never heard of it before but I learned where it was and that's neat that you're from that very same place. Now, when did you find out about Teen Missions International and how did you find out? Teen Missions, I was probably about 14 years old when I first found out and at the time the only thing I knew was that you bathed in buckets all summer long and I was really scared about that. Then when I was 17, I finally got up enough nerve to sign up on a team and I went to to Africa. I went to Cameroon, Africa. Cameroon, okay. Triple T has the privilege of having one of the AIDS orphans rescue units in Cameroon and our friends of Mahars are of course the ones that are directing that particular program and what a great privilege it is and a joy. Now, Carly, where are you from? I am from Santand Valley, Arizona. From Arizona? Yes, sir. Okay. Now, how did you find out first about Teen Missions International? My mom saved brochure that she got for quite some meat for, I think, three years. Three years well. One year my dad got a bonus from work and she presented it to us. My sister and I had asked if we wanted to go and we had never met anybody that had gone on a team or anything. We just kind of took a leap of faith and it was one of the best summers of my life. Okay, and where did you go that summer? I went to Wales. To Wales, okay. Wow, all right. That's a long way from Cameroon, Africa. Well, not that far, I guess. But we're delighted that you guys are here because you're a part of a thing called the Motorcycle Sunday School Mission Circuit Writers Band. Boy, that's a long, long title for a group that just sounds great and they've been traveling across the tri-state and now they're way beyond us but we wanted to catch them while they were here before they flew away. That's one of the songs that they do all fly away and what a joy it's been to work with them and especially to have them here at Triple T on a couple of Saturday nights and it was just a last Saturday night that they were here and the Saturday before. And so it seems hardly possible. It's November already but it is and they have now gone on north and they had to be prepared for the cold water. They were about to get into actually not water but weather and I think it was like stepping into cold water to think about the cold weather especially for somebody that was reared in Florida. The north is not quite like that. Indiana is not Florida and is not even Arizona. By the way, what part of Arizona were you in the mountains or down in the valley? We're in the valley. We're about an hour outside of Phoenix. Okay, so it's hot where you live. Very. A lot of times. Okay, now let's talk about how you guys determine after your mission trip to become a part of what we call BMW. For you who are listening, BMW is not a car. It's Bible Missionary Work Training Center and there's one in Florida and there are others scattered around the world and about I think there are about 24 different countries that have BMWs right now. A whole bunch of them in Indonesia. But you guys made the decision after coming back from your trip and what caused you to say okay, I'm going to spend the next two years of my life studying the Bible and going out serving the Lord in the summertime and then after those two years to be an intern and to travel. So Sam, how did you make that determination? That was a determination that came over about a period of two, two and a half years. After my summer when I was 17, I went home and then I came back when I was 8, 19 and or led a team to Russia. I was a leader and that summer I decided that I did not want to to go to the BMW school. It was too hard, it was too long, it's too difficult and after I went home the Lord really worked on my life. He put me in situations but I didn't know what to do and my job kind of or was or was or was about to peter out and I was I was looking for a Bible college but I didn't want to do BMW and finally the Lord just did or just worked on me and worked on me and finally I decided to go to BMW and and come out the next three years of my life there. Okay Carly, what about you? I have to give credit to the Holy Spirit, after my first team I said I was never going to come back to team missions because it was too hard but God moves in mysterious ways and one day I found myself on the Bible school website and I was looking and reading about it and I know I wanted to serve the Lord full-time and I was reading about their curriculum and there's a lot of hands-on training and I was excited about that. I learned by doing so that kind of what excited me and I signed up and my sister and I actually both enrolled the same year and went in 2011. Now you both talked a lot about the Lord leading you in the Holy Spirit guiding you. How did you meet Jesus? What caused you to become a child of God? Sam? I'd have been about seven years old and I don't remember much about it but I remember being being at my grandmother's house and me and my mom were in the basement and we were talking about it and I think she asked me do you want to accept the Lord and I was seven years old when I accepted Christ into my heart. Okay Carly give us your story. All right well I guess when I was around seven my parents started committing more time to go into church and I saw kind of a change in my family my we started listening to more Christian music and just getting more involved in church and things and just being taught the Bible and understanding more over a period of I think three years and by the time I was 10 I decided that you know I'm I need God's help I can't live this life by myself and I think when I was 10 I was baptized and committed my life to the Lord. Okay wonderful. Now three other quick questions first of all how did you guys determine that you were going to be a part of the circuit writers or how was that determined for you? This is a crazy idea of putting a band on the road for almost a year traveling from basically coast to coast and sharing wonderful music and sharing the need for the motorcycle Sunday school mission in Africa and now coming up in Asia and in other places as God opens the doors. Now I know that you had the privilege Carly of not only singing with your sister but of putting together a song for the circuit writers and I think that's what it's called. A circuit writer and Sam you do the sound you make them all sound really really really good and that's a great thing but so how did this whole idea come about as far as you guys being invited to be a part of this kind of a very very demanding lifestyle for a year of just traveling out of suitcases not knowing where you're going to stay at night the home you're going to be in what kind of food you're going to have what kind of an auditor and you're going to be sharing in and all the details that just have to unfold before you how did all this come about? Carly tell us your end of the story and then Sam you filled in. All right well I I have been fortunate enough to be in a lot of the planning process of this about almost two years ago Mr. Bland had a meeting with my sister and I and actually some people that aren't a part of the band now that we're going to be and presented this idea and I knew that I always wanted to do something with music with my life I love being able to praise the Lord through song and with this opportunity I I'm not sure if I actually thought it was going to happen when I said yes it seemed kind of crazy and like it wasn't going to happen but I said sure you know that's that that would be fun I would love to do something like that for my internship and I've been a part of it ever since and I'm grateful for it now okay now I'm going to come back to in just a moment but Sam tell us your part of the story. My story is as far as the band is concerned of what or or much later than Carly's and I was just sitting in my office working one day and Mr. Bland come in and he asked me do you want to do or would you be willing to be a part of this band and be the sound man and a van driver and so I took about three weeks to think and pray over it and finally come back and I said I would. Okay now I'm going to ask you some other questions between questions first of all you've been talking about Mr. Bland and for you all who are listening you know that last week Bob Bland was my special guest on Tonya Truth Radio and so we talked a lot we've been friends for a long long long time before there was a triple T before there was a teen missions so that's back a long long ways but we've been friends and we've worked together and we have coordinated things together and of course when he said we're going to put this band on the road the first question is do you want them and when and so I said yes and yes we can put them together at least for these events of association convention and so that's what happened and that's how we worked out all the details now Carly the first time I saw you you were playing an instrument and the next time I looked you were playing a different instrument how many instruments do you play and how many instruments does your sister play? I play I play the bass guitar the banjo I can play a little bit of flute I did that when I was younger for those I would say my strongest instruments are those two my sister can play the guitar a bit of banjo she's working on mandolin she's picking up piano it's much more proficient than I but yeah we've always had fun playing instruments together and the harmony the sound that you guys have is just so marvelous because of the the way it all fits together it was it was as if somebody just said okay this is going to be the the perfect sound so we'll put you here and you here and you here and you're here and God just orchestrates things like that from time to time and when you're sitting back there watching them and making them sound good do you ever have any problems saying oh they got off that time what can I do to help them mostly his problems that I can work on is changing levels and and I'm getting him back to where they should be okay tell us about the setup that you have to do I know it takes a lot to put it all together so Sam what what kind of sound system do you normally use and what kind of miking do you use and how does it all happen between the instruments and the vocals and the switching back and forth and even the speaking in between probably the or probably our new or neatest tool that we have is the vocal pro set it has eight mics in it that we can use we'll usually only use about six of them at a time and then we'll go in and we'll set speakers up run a snake back set a soundboard up we can we can or we can set up inside of a church or on a front lawn if we had to okay very good okay do you get nervous up there at all Carly I used to I don't as much anymore sometimes it depends on the crowd you can kind of get a feel when you walk in the door on how you might think they may be receptive and sometimes the crowds are receptive straight off and it sometimes it takes three quarters of the way through the presentation and so finally their hearts are starting to melt and they open their hearts well we're delighted that you've been here with us and of course Sam you were here before is this your first time here Carly or had you been here before okay both of you been here your old timers okay did you come to YEA or how did you come the first time okay what about you Sam what was your first trip here oh the first trip was oh it was YEA yes okay I understand why yeah as youth of ends of association we just completed our 40th anniversary convention and youth workers intensive training and the comments that we've gotten from many many of the participants and the people who've just been around have said this is by far the highest quality time we've ever had together and we're excited because of what the Lord has done I want to talk for a little bit about the motorcycle Sunday school goals where we are now and where we're headed motorcycle Sunday school is a very unusual ministry it uses motorcycles like the Methodist circuit riders used to use horses it's in Africa right now and soon we'll be opening in fact hopefully this week and Indonesia in the country of Barnio in Africa we're in I believe five or six different nations now with the motorcycle Sunday school and what happens is there are two people who go to BMW in Africa and they are trained in the Bible and they work for two years in the Bible school and then one year as an intern then they're taught how to ride a motorcycle and they go back into the bush and they take the motorcycle back with the Sunday school materials and they do at least six different Sunday schools on a circuit and now the same thing is happening in Indonesia in Barnio there'll be two circuits hopefully in the next couple of weeks there and so the goal is not only to have those that are out there now we have the privilege of sponsoring 12 of the motorcycle Sunday schools in Africa and opening the first one as I've said in Indonesia in Barnio and then there are others there are over 125 going now and they're raising funds for more for seventy nine dollars a month you can sponsor a Sunday school someplace in the world and that's what you guys have been doing and do you know how many new ones you have now been able to get ready to go I believe it's 16 16 one at a time and the goal is by December the 13th of 2013 to have 213 Sunday schools and the ultimate goal is a thousand points of light by the end of this decade by 2020 and so we ask all of you who are listening to please pray for uh not only Carly and Sam but all of the people that are involved and for all of their tomorrow's because at the end of this tour they will be determining what God wants them to do in the days ahead this is a one-year internship uh for the motorcycle Sunday school circuit rider band got all that out again didn't I and so we'll be praying for them and with them and for us here at Triple T as we cooperate and work together our whole thrust is to get the gospel to as many people as possible as effectively as possible because we know that Jesus said he does not believe is condemned already because he's not believed in the name and the only begotten Son of God so we're trying to get people to believe in Lord Jesus and to let their lives change totally Christ through you can change the world every saturday at 7 27 p.m you are invited to attend a live youth
