Telling The TRUTH
092813 Telling The Truth 28 Minute Program
[music] You're listening to "Telling the Truth" from Triple T. Christian Youth Ministries, "Telling the Truth to and Through Teenagers." Here is Triple T. Founder and President, George Dooms. "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, but earnestly desire the best gifts, and yet I show you a more excellent way." 1 Corinthians 1231, New King James Version, a more excellent way. Isn't that great? God has that for you. Do you want to find it? Read 1 Corinthians 13. God unveils this more excellent way. Each of us needs to be so in tune with the Lord that we will listen to what He has to say in His Word. We not only need to read the Word of God, but pray about it, pray with other believers, and then consider what God would have us to do as we share the love of God with people, some of whom are unlovely, and some are even hard to love. But God loves everybody, for God is love. So God wants us to let people know that He so loved the world that He gave. And as we take that wonderful message of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ to people who need to know Him, God will make us usable and He will use us to make an impact on person after person that will allow them to have a totally different eternity than they would have had had we not gone to them with the Gospel. Will you go? The Bible gives a great deal of emphasis to excellence. Listen to 2 Corinthians 4-7, New King James Version. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels that the excellence of the power may be of God, and not of us. Lifting God high, putting Jesus on the throne of your heart and of your life, is the best lifestyle you could possibly live. God is excellent, and we are to lift Him high. We are to bring other people to Him. We are to pray with other believers, reading the Word of God, letting God speak to us, and through us to others who don't yet know Him, but who could if we would tell them how to get to heaven. God wants to make you usable, and He wants to use you. But remember, the excellence of the power is of God, and not of you and me. So taking the glorious Gospel of the Lord Jesus to people becomes our lot in life, and the thing for which God will remarkably bless. Lives will be changed, homes rearranged, because you and I are faithful. It's up to you. It's up to me. Let's pray. Let's read God's Word. Let's go with the Gospel. Somebody is waiting for you. Will you go? And this I pray that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ. Philippians 1, 9 and 10, New King James Version. God wants each one of us to do things that are excellent, so that we will be what God wants us to be, that we will walk uprightly, that we will be in tune with the Lord, that we will be faith-sharers and bears of the truth to people who don't know Him, but who could know Jesus if we would tell them how. Pray, read the Word of God, get someone to pray with you. Somebody else that believes that God's Word is true, and then together go with the Gospel. Tell them Christ died for our sins. He was buried, and He rose again on the third day. Let them know they need to admit that they have sinned, for all have sinned. They need to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ personally, and they need to be willing to confess with their mouths the Lord Jesus, believing in their heart that God has raised Him from the dead. Somebody is waiting for you to tell them that story. Do you find yourself holding on to things that are not really important? Do you find yourself in relationships that are not pleasing to the Lord? Are you ready to let go and do an about-face? Philippians 3, 7, and 8, New King James says, "But what things were gained to me, these I have counted loss for Christ. But indeed, I also count all things lost for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish that I may gain Christ." Can you say that? Can you mean that? Are you willing to be in a relationship with God that surpasses all other people and things that are in your life, or that could be? Are you willing to crown Christ's King, make Him Lord of all? If you are, God will make you usable, and He will do things for you that are really magnificent. So read God's Word, fellowship with believers, and pray together for the people that you know, that they may know, who do not know the Lord. Somebody is waiting. They're waiting for the truth to be told to them. Will you do it? It's totally up to you. Pray, ask God to give you the courage, and then go with His good news. Hebrews 1 is talking about Jesus Christ, Son of God, God the Son. Listen to verse 4, New King James Version. Having become so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. Did you get that? His name is above every name. One day, the name of Jesus every knee shall bow. And so He has obtained a more excellent name than anyone, anything, anytime. That's who Jesus is. Jesus has four things about Him that you need to know. First of all, He is divine. Secondly, He is human. Third, He is royalty. And fourth, He is completely pure and above and beyond sin and Satan. That's who Jesus is. And if you know that about Him, you will understand how excellent His name really is. God wants to make you usable, and He wants you to share the wonderful name of the Lord Jesus with people who need to know Him. So read the Word of God, and then pray diligently, asking God to make you usable to reach out to people who need the Lord. Get in fellowship with others, and go. Jesus not only has an excellent name, but also an excellent ministry. Hebrews 8, 6, New King James Version says, "But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry in as much as He is also mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises." When we look into the Word of God, it unfolds before us a magnificent plan of redemption that God put together. It all revolves around His Son, Jesus Christ. When we exalt Him, when we make Him Lord of all, and allow Him to make us what we ought to be as servants of Him, magnificent things are going to happen to us, and in the hearts and lives of people with whom we come in contact. So pray. Let God speak to you through His Word. The Bible is inspired. Let it be in your heart consistently. Find others who believe the Word of God to be totally true, and then go together to those who don't know Him, but who could, if you would tell them, the truth. Work out your strategy, the way to go through those who need Jesus, so that their lives can change directly, personally, and faithfully. You can do it. It's really your decision. And as soon as we heard these things, our hearts melted. Neither did there remain any more courage in anyone because of you, for the Lord is your God. He is God in heaven above and on earth beneath. Joshua 211, New King James Version. How excellent is thine name, O Lord, we sing, and certainly that's true. But He is God, and because He is God, we need to respect Him and respond to Him. In the Old Testament, there were predictions, and there was a precedent set, that things were going to come to be that weren't yet, but were promised. And now that those things have come to pass, now that we are in a world that is affected by Christianity on all sides, we need to tell the truth boldly, effectively, and prayerfully. So get a prayer partner, pray with Him or her, read the Word of God together, and then determine how you can reach the most possible people in the shortest possible time with God's plan of salvation. Tell them to admit they have sinned, to believe on the Lord Jesus, to confess Him publicly. Let them know that Christ came to save sinners, and He is willing to save them if they will turn to Him from their sins and receive the gift of God eternal life. They are waiting. Will you go to them? Every Saturday at 7.27 p.m., you are invited to attend a live youth event at Triple T, 13,000 US-41 North at Boone Building Harmony Road, midway between I-64 and Evansville Regional Airport. Every first Saturday, a good news club for ages 6 to 9 is available in a separate room. For more information, call 812-867-2418, or visit www.tripletchristianyouth.org. It's been a joy and a privilege to escort people through the life-size replica of the Old Testament tabernacle that has been on the campus of Triple T Christian Youth Ministry since the 13th of May. But in just 20 more days, the tabernacle will come down. It's only here through the 17th of October. So if you haven't yet seen it, I would suggest that you call Erykot 812-867-2418 and arrange for a guided tour of the Old Testament tabernacle. It would be a delight to have you with us. Let me share with you that a lot of people have come by and they've said, "What are those tents out there at Triple T? What is all of that?" Well, God put it together in a very special way. There are four coverings of the tabernacle itself. And the courtyard that surrounds the tabernacle is large. It's 75 feet wide and 150 feet long. The gate is 30 feet wide. More about that in a moment. But as you drive by and you look at the tabernacle, what you see is a dull gray. The outer covering, one of four, was made of the skins of dolphins and seals. It had to be waterproof because even in the desert it did rain and it had to protect the tabernacle for a long, long time. The tabernacle was God's dwelling place in the desert for 40 years and ultimately before the temple was constructed over 500 years. Isaiah 53 2 says, "For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of dry ground. He has no form or comeliness. And when we see him, there's no beauty that we should desire him." When we see the covering of the tabernacle, we don't see the beauty that's on the inside. The actual first covering is the beautiful, beautiful linens that were colored red and blue and purple with white embroidery all throughout. And as you see that first covering, that dull gray covering, it's really to hide the beauty of Jesus himself. When you look at the gate, you see four colors and also as you move toward the entrance to the tabernacle. The first is scarlet, earth's color, the son of man. Gosselen Mark talks about this. Scarlet is a Persian word and it keynotes worm. It was from worms of the color scarlet was made. It was also the color of the earth. It's not sacrilegious to speak of Jesus as a worm. Job didn't think so. Read Job 25 verses 4 and 6. Look at the prophecies in God's Word. Find out what God had done to get Jesus ready to shed His blood. Remember, as He began His earthly ministry, John the Baptist said, "Behold the Lamb of God that comes to take away the sins of the world." And so we find that Jesus, son of God, shed His blood. The Lamb of God was our sin sacrifice. The second color is white. It's just the embroidery, but it's a pure color. And it represents the pure one, Jesus. The Gospel of Luke talks about this. So, white linen was the clothing of kings. Both Mordeciah and King David were recorded as wearing white, a color that denotes purity. Luke presents Christ and His holy life. Luke 1.35, "That holy things, which shall be born of the, shall be called the Son of God." God's Son was holy. Even Pilate said, "In Luke 23.4, I find no fault in this man." And so we find that Jesus not only was human, but He was pure. And then as we look at the blue, we know that blue is heaven's color, and He came down from heaven. The Gospel of John presents this again and again. But He came down from heaven, even the Son of Man who is in heaven. And in John's Gospel, Christ is pictured as the one who came down from heaven, and the bread which came down from heaven, again and again, eight times in John. Jesus is said to have come down from heaven. And so we know that He is holy, that He is divine. And then we have the purple, which is a combination of the blue and the red. It's the color of royalty, king of kings. Matthew talks about this. He begins with Christ's genealogy to show He is a successor of King David. Revelation 5.5, "Behold the lion of the tribe of Judah." The mixing of blue, the heavenly color, and the scarlet, the earthly color, make purple, the kingly color. So Christ who came down from heaven blew and was made in the lightness of man, earth color, scarlet, blended His earthly and heavenly nature to become king of all kings represented by purple. Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of a servant and was made in the lightness of man. And being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. So when you visit the Old Testament tabernacle replica, you'll find out that everything in the tabernacle speaks of Christ. Every material, furniture, covering every piece of it is a wordless book of the Old Testament predicting Jesus coming. And we have to know that also it was the first habitation of God. It was built for God because God gave the instructions on the Sinai Peninsula. Moses was called up on the mountain and God only gave him the Ten Commandments, but the plans for the tabernacle. Hebrews says, "Who served the copy and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was divinely instructed when he was about to make the tabernacle, for he said, 'See that you make all things according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.' It had to be made according to a pattern because it was a picture of Christ. And so we invite you to come. Call as soon as possible to arrange your tour, Erykot 812-867-2418. It'll be a delight to have you as our special guest as you view Christ in the tabernacle. Week after next, we'll be going to the West Side of Evansville for the West Side Nut Club Fall Festival with our Thirsty Tooth Food Booth. And we're excited again about going there to meet all kinds of folk and provide some very, very special things for them and to give them the gospel. On the Franklin Street side of our booth will be our banner that says, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ." Join the truth to teenagers with our website. We're putting those billboards also in as many places as possible up and down Highway 41 and other locations as God provides. We're working closely with Lamar Outdoor Advertising and we're grateful for all the things that have happened and all the people that are seeing how to get to heaven. We'll be giving God's ABCs to people who will be passing by our food booth on Franklin Street. And we want you to know that you're invited if you want to come by and just say hi and let us know that you have heard us on radio and you've been invited and you're responding to the invitation. Then a couple of weeks, October 14 through 17, we are hosting the Youth of Vansam Association Convention and Youth Workers' Intensive Training. It's the 40th anniversary of YEA. Our scriptural theme is 1 Timothy 2, 3 and 4. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. We're featuring effective experienced youth ministry leaders from across America. And on Tuesday night, the 15th, we're putting together God willing a Tiger Team Impact Evangelistic Youth effort. Clyde and Grace Dupin and the Motorcycle Sunday School Mission Circuit Riders Band will be featured. And we're thrilled about what God is going to be doing and we sure do hope that you'll be coming to be with us. We also want you to know that we'll be having a very special presentation of the thing that God is going to be using to reach more people we believe than we've ever, ever touched in all of our 47 plus years of ministry. Restart challenges and equips preteens and teenagers to be involved in local Bible believing church youth groups and Sunday schools and invite and bring their friends to have the opportunity to hear the Gospel with an invitation to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. It will be officially launched just three months from today on December 28, 2013, Triple T's 2500 consecutive Saturday the Lord willing. But meanwhile, we're going to be sharing what it is and how it works and you can come to the YEA happenings and you can learn all about this. It will be presented certainly by the last day, the 17th of October. Why not put December 28, 2013 on your calendar? Remember, it's to be Triple T's 2500 consecutive Saturday the Lord willing and we would really like to have you with us. We'd like for you to be a part of the launch team. Stay tuned for more details and the exciting happenings that can be a part of your life in your tomorrows. Youth Avengers Association is people with a passion to reach out to youth with God's glorious Gospel. Just 40 years ago, five directors of Evangelistic Youth Ministries co-founded YEA that was 1973. Vic Elias and a VCY America formerly Wisconsin Voice of Christian Youth in Milwaukee, Jim Harris, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania Youth for Christ, Al Metzger, the late Al Metzger, the founder of Kansas City Youth for Christ. My classmate Dick Snavely, Family Life Ministries, formerly Area Youth for Christ in Bath, New York and myself. This was our founding statement, "Be moved by the desperate spiritual need among the nation's young people to know Christ is their only hope and having a desire to provide the most effective vehicle through which God called men and women and scripturally sound organizations can work to reach youth for Christ. We purpose to group ourselves into a fellowship to be known as Youth Evangelism Association Incorporated. YEA is governed by a board of directors elected annually by the council and delegates at the annual convention. Tammy has been serving as president of YEA for the past ten years. Membership in Youth Evangelism is open to like-minded organizations, local church youth ministries and individuals. All members sign the vision, purpose and distinctive of YEA and the statement of faith. Again, it's been a delight to work with all these people for all of this time. Today's culture is devastating younger and younger youth, temptations abound, absolutes are missing in action. Following John 3, 16, the best known and most often quoted verse in the New Testament, Jesus continued, "For God did not send his son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved. He who believes in him is not condemned, but he who does not believe is condemned already because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation that light has come to the world and men love darkness rather than light because their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light that his deeds may be clearly seen that they have been done in God." That's John 3, 17 through 21. Youth of Asim Association is a network of ministries to teenagers using a biblical approach in ministry methods and standards. Each affiliate is locally governed with the right to develop programs of evangelism as God directs, holding high standards of Christian separation, Bible teaching and victorious Christian lifestyles. Local churches and inter-nominational ministries to teenagers affiliated with YEA use a variety of ideas and methods in a constant endeavor to reach teenagers effectively, aggressively evangelistic. The plan of salvation and an open invitation to publicly profess personal faith in Jesus Christ is included in public meetings. Bible believing, the inspiration and fallibility and an erancy of the Bible as the Word of God is the foundation on which YEA is built. Church-connected. Local Bible believing churches are recognized as God's choice institutions worldwide, and involvement and cooperation with such churches is vital. When the YEA is 24/7, whenever and wherever youth are, the vision is to challenge adults to coach, equip and train youth to actively and responsibly reproduce the life of Christ with their peers, to boldly share the gospel to win their unsaved peers to Christ, to consistently study the Bible with a view towards spiritual maturity. Youth Evansions Association annually conducts a convention and youth workers' intensive training, and the conference topics include such things as impacting your community for Christ, foundations of effective ministry, current teen issues, peer evangelism and biblical training, public relations, raising awareness and funds, youth ministry resources and ideas, enhancing effectiveness through technology, developing a leadership team, helping smaller church youth ministries thrive. Where is it? YEA goes literally across America through the evangelistic efforts of YEA affiliates wherever and to whomever they minister. YEA is worldwide through teen missions international and other affiliates going to 50 to 60 nations every year. Bible clubs have been established by Christian students in all 50 states, 9 Canadian provinces and several other countries since 1990 when the Supreme Court upheld the Equal Access Act. The goal is to have YEA affiliated inter-nominational youth organizations and our local church youth ministries in all 3,141 U.S.A. counties and internationally. You're invited to be a part of YEA, so call us and we'll send you the brochure with all the details. The number is area code 812-867-2418 or check us on the web tttchristianus.org.
