Telling The TRUTH
081713 Telling The Truth 28 Minute Program
[music] You're listening to "Telling the Truth" from Triple T. Christian Youth Ministries, "Telling the Truth to and Through Teenagers." Here is Triple T. founder and president, George Dumes. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Dr. Luke tells the story of the birth and the growth of the Lord Jesus. Luke 2.40, New King James says, "And the child grew and became strong in spirit, filled with wisdom, "and the grace of God was upon him." What a wonderful thing it is to know that God took that little virgin-born baby and allowed him to become all that he would one day become the Savior of the world. But he grew and became strong in spirit, filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was upon him. Wonderful things happen when people understand what God did in sending his Son, in having him to grow, having him become all that he was going to be, and that word "strong" is so important. Strong in spirit. He was getting ready when God was ready for him to do his ministry. Filled with wisdom. What a great thing to know that God did that for his Son. His only begotten Son. Now we have the opportunity to tell the world about the Lord Jesus. It would be a wonderful thing for all of us to open the word of God and to just read the gospel according to Luke. In it, we find out how Jesus came and who he is. We are to love our neighbors as ourselves. Listen to the admonition of Romans 15, 1 and 2, New King James. We then who are strong ought to bear with the scruples of the weak and not to please ourselves. Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, leading to edification. We have shared many times the joy formula. Jesus first, other second, yourself last. And this scripture really adds information and inspiration as to why we ought to do what God tells us to do. We then who are strong, how strong are you? Are you strong in the Lord? Are you strong in the Spirit in wisdom and truth? Are you accomplishing what God would have you to accomplish? Are you reading the word of God consistently? Are you praying all the time? Are you fellowshipping with other believers in prayer and Bible study? Are you going with the gospel to people who need the Lord? Form a team. Get someone to go with you and then share Jesus with people who need him. Go to your neighbor, to those who are having difficulties, who are weak and tell them how Jesus can give them the power to live successfully for him. By believing on Christ, their lives can be rearranged forever. When you and I can identify with false writings in 2 Corinthians 12-10, New King James Version, then we will have arrived at a spiritual moment of truth. It's very difficult, however, to ascertain this kind of understanding. So listen, "Therefore, I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ's sake, for when I am weak, then I am strong." The last part I can agree with, for I am weak. Then in retrospect, I am strong because I am relying on God, not me. But to take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, difficult, extremely difficult. But Paul says, "For Christ's sake." So because of the Lord Jesus' death, burial, resurrection, and giving us the gift of God eternal life, we have the privilege of talking with him, of reading his word, of doing what the Bible says to do. So be strong in the Lord, even in difficulties. You can do it for Christ's sake. Are you willing? God has a job for you to do. He has someone that needs you. Will you go to them with the truth? Tell them the truth today. Listen to Ephesians 6, 10 and 11, New King James Version. "Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the wilds of the devil. Brethren means believers. Be strong in the Lord, believer. He has power. He has might. And He is available to give that to you. How? Put on the whole armor of God. Stand against the wilds of the devil. Satan is at large, and he does not appreciate Christian discipleship, not at all. He despises the communication of the gospel. But greater is he than is in you than he that's in the world. And the Bible is very clear. So when you read the sixth chapter of Ephesians, you understand how the whole armor of God fits together and equips you and me to go into battle. Because we are in a battle, but the battle is the Lord's. So let's be in His army. Let's pray. Let's read the word of God. Let's have others praying with us. And let's go together to take the gospel to people who could be saved if someone would tell them how. Will you be that one? You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. 2 Timothy 2, 1, New King James Version. The Apostle Paul is writing to a younger man, Timothy. And he tells him to be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. Strength is available when we understand that the strength of a Christian only comes in relationship with the Lord Jesus. When we are obedient to him, when we do what the word of God tells us to do, first to pray consistently. Secondly, to read God's word on a regular basis. Third, to fellowship with other believers in Christ. And then constantly share our faith in him with those who need to know him. God can make you strong in the Lord because of the grace that is available through Christ Jesus. So will you take that amazing grace to a world in need one by one? God can make you usable and He can use you if you are willing. The question is, are you willing? The gospel is clear. Christ died for our sins. He was buried. He rose again on the third day according to the Scriptures. Because that is the truth. Tell people who need to know. The message of Hebrews 6, 17 and 18, New King James Version is complex but very, very appropriate. Listen. Thus, God determining to show more abundantly in the heirs of promise, the immutability of His counsel confirmed it by an oath. That by two immutable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might have strong consolation who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us. There is hope on your horizon. The hope is Jesus Christ. And that hope needs to be shared with many, many people. Make sure you are strong. God says this so you can have a strong consolation. You fled to Jesus, I hope. If you haven't, please do now because when you do, God will bless you abundantly. The consistency that God wants each of us to perform for Him is reading His Word, listening to what He has to say, talking with Him, asking Him for guidance and direction, and for all the help that is needed to be all we can be for His glory. In all that we do, let's give thanks to God for what He has done, what He is doing, and what He's going to do. God make us usable and use us. Hebrews 11 is called the Hall of Faith. Listen to Hebrews 11, 33 and 34, New King James, who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. There you have it. How can you be made strong by doing what God would have you to do when and where and how He wants you to do it? Can you identify with these heroes of the faith? Each of us have weaknesses, but in Jesus Christ we can have strength. You can be strong in the Lord in the power of His might. Constantly open the Word of God and let God penetrate your heart, your mind, your very being. Second, pray. Ask Him to give you the guidance and direction that help you need and find someone who is a believer to pray with you and then go to those who need to know Jesus, who don't but who could, if someone like you would tell them how. The question is, will you do it? The second part of the question is, will you do it today? Every Saturday at 7.27 p.m. you are invited to attend a live youth event at Triple T, 13,000 US-41 North at Boondville and Harmony Road, Midway between I-64 and Evansville Regional Airport. Every first Saturday a good news club for ages 6 to 9 is available in a separate room. For more information call 812-867-2418 or visit www.tripletchristianyouth.org. It's exciting to read about the heroes of the faith in Hebrews chapter 11. Every one of those personalities was ordained of God to do a specific job at a specific time in God's scheme of things. What a great list of people. What wonderful individuals God made usable and used to impact the whole wide world, one at a time, one era at a time. And I am thrilled about the people that I call my heroes of our contemporaries and one of them is Bob Bland and his wife Bernie. Since 1980 we've enjoyed a growing relationship with Bob and Bernie Bland and Team Missions International. Of the 63 different people involved with Fairshare 2013, 42 are part of Team Missions International. It's been a delight, a joy to host so many people here at Triple T. We've stretched everything we could to accommodate those who are staying here. Our dormitories, they're portable A-frames. They each accommodate eight and they have been packed to capacity. And we've put people in every nook and cranny we could in the building because we have had such an army of Christian communicators with us. And we've been privileged to go out there and share the gospel with well over 2,700 people one by one by one. We've given the plan of salvation, what we call God's ABCs in printed form. A admit you've sinned for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. The wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. Believe on Christ, for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son their believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life. Confess Christ publicly to confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised him for the dead. You will be safe with a heart when believes to righteousness and with the mouth confession is made to salvation. Not only personally with nearly 3,000 people but thousands more received this printed form of God's ABCs with those verses that I just shared with you. Romans 6, 23, Romans 3, 23, John 3, 16, Romans 10, 9, and 10. The wonderful thing is that God's word does not return void and that's why every broadcast begins with telling people how to get to heaven to believe on the Lord Jesus. And that's why we have this opportunity of putting the gospel by the side of the road on billboards with that same marvelous message. And as we drive down highway 41 coming toward Evansville through Port Branch we see the billboard with the message believe on the Lord Jesus. And then as we go on into Evansville just before we get to Lincoln Avenue we see it again believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. And as we give away Bibles and we've given well over 500 of them nearing 600 now they have that message on the front cover a reproduction of the billboard. And so consistently we communicate Christianity through every means and media we possibly can. And God has done magnificent things through these teenagers that have been with us from all across America. From California to New York from Michigan to Florida and many many places in between. And so as we go with the gospel we're going into the highways and hedges. Fairs and street festivals in 12 counties since July the 8th. The teenagers and leaders have been trained and they have surveyed these thousands of individuals and have endeavored to share the gospel. And the wonderful thing is over 170 have said yes to Jesus. And it continues as the gospel goes out. And they've accepted the gift of God eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. And as we go on into the future as God opens doors we have been privileged already this year to be in I think it's 15 or 16 counties and we're hoping to go to that many more by the end of the year. On the 13th of July we began 25 weeks moving toward what we anticipate to be God willing Triple T's 2500 consecutive Saturday. We're trying to invite everybody who's ever been at Triple T one time in their life to come on back for this wonderful opportunity to fellowship with each other and to get the gospel going forward as we move toward Triple T's golden anniversary on February 6th 2016. We are thrilled because of what God has done but we are anticipatory about what he's going to do. Our dormitories are being enhanced and fixed up and they're going to be totally different now as we look at the outside because new fronts are being put on each one and they are wonderful opportunities for being used year-round because they're air conditioned and heated and we'll be hosting people from different areas local churches and Christian organizations are coming in to be trained in pyrovangelism. We're moving toward a very very special happening on the 7th of September. It's Burger Bash with free hamburgers for everybody but at 3 o'clock in the afternoon till 4.30 we're having a special free training session for youth workers for the My Hope America with Billy Graham and we have an outstanding young man who's coming to share this teaching and he'll be our special guest that evening at the rally at Triple T at 7.27. So all of these things keep on moving forward and it seems hardly possible it's just two or three weeks from now that that date will be here and then following September as we keep on training as many as we possibly can on the weekends then we move toward the West Side Nut Club Fall Festival and we are hosting the National Youth Evangelism Association Conference and Convention here and Youth Workers Intensive Training. It begins on the 14th of October and goes through the 17th of October. On Tuesday the 15th we'll be having a youth rally here featuring the Motorcycle Sunday School Circuit Riders Band and they are excellent musicians, great, joyful people, youthful and very very polished in their presentations and yet friendly and fun and it's going to be a great night as we share together the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ at 7.27 p.m. on the 15th of October and we move on forward to the My Hope America with Billy Graham in November and then we'll celebrate Jesus' birthday December 7, 14, 21 and on the 28th God willing Triple T's 2500th consecutive Saturday. So pray with us and for us and come on out to Triple T anytime you want to. Call us for the arrangement of a tour of the Old Testament tabernacle replica. It's an awesome thing to see. We've had people from all over the place that have come and others have made arrangements to be with us from all three states and way beyond that. We've had them come down from Ohio and from Michigan and we've had them come across the tri-state and others are going to be with us for the tour. It takes about an hour and again to arrange a tour for yourself or your family or your Sunday school class or your youth group or whomever. Just call us area code 812-867-248 and we'll arrange a tour guide for you. We have some people who are qualified to show you. The aspects of Christ in the tabernacle. The Old Testament revealed in this very wonderful replica and its life size, the actual gate is 30 feet wide. The courtyard is 150 by 75. The tabernacle itself is 15 feet wide, 45 feet long and 15 feet high. Inside the tabernacle is the holy of holies. It's a cube, 15 feet high, 15 feet wide, 15 feet long and in it are the furnishings that God provided and made available. You'll see the Ark of the Covenant and you'll see what God did for people before Jesus. And you get to go in because the veil was rent from top to bottom when Jesus Christ died on the cross. The cross of Christ is what we glory in at Triple T. Stay tuned. We're going to give you more details about how you can be a part of something very, very special. So don't go away. The need of the hour is to reach youth while they are reachable. Drinking, drugs, sexual promiscuity or rampant among preteens and teenagers. Morning after abortion pills are to be made available over the counter with no age restriction. Sex education is promoting experimentation at younger and younger ages. Declaring child prostitution, a persistent threat in America, the FBI said that authorities had recently rescued 105 young people and arrested 150 people who were promoting all of this in a three-day sweep. Guess what? The young people in the roundup, almost all of them girls, ranged in age from 13 to 17. The most effective solution and the only real answer is to win youth to Christ and train them how to share their faith effectively with their peers. That's Triple T's mission. Join the truth two through teenagers to win them to Christ to train them for Christ, teaching them how to share their faith through their local churches on their campuses, throughout their communities and into their world wherever God leads them in their future. We're concerned about the awesome opportunity that we have but also the awesome responsibility. Do you know that the majority of 10 to 19-year-olds in your town do not attend church or Sunday school or youth group meetings? Did you know that there's going to be a concerted effort to stop the spiritual fallout of youth and that we're in the middle of it all, putting it together so that it can happen next Easter time? It's a three-year plan. It works for nine weeks each year, six weeks before Easter, Easter Sunday, and two weeks after. The objective is to teach Christian teenagers how to reach out to their friends. They will learn the plan of salvation. They will be trained in peer evangelism. The gospel will be presented every Sunday at Sunday schools or local church youth groups with an invitation to admit you have sinned to believe on the Lord Jesus to confess Him publicly. And it will happen, like I said, preceding Easter, Easter Sunday, and after Easter. In 2014, 2015, and 2016, again, God willing. And all of the finishing touches are being put together on all of this. We're trusting it's going to go across America. We know that already people from half of the states or more have said they're going to take it and make it usable in their towns when they learn how to make it happen. We're putting together the tools necessary. We're going to be doing a teacher training, a youth worker training video series that will be available online. And we're hoping as we do this youth evangelism academy that literally hundreds and hundreds of adults will be taught how to share the gospel effectively in this nine-week outreach period. And teenagers themselves are being challenged to invite their friends who are either dropouts from Sunday school and church or who've never been. And as we reach out to them, we're trusting that God's going to give us a continuation of evangelistic outreaches that will result in people coming to know Jesus Christ personally. That's who we are. That's what we do at Triple D Christian Youth Ministries. We are church connected. We're Bible believing. And we are aggressively evangelistic. That means we don't wait for people to come to us. We go to them. That's why this year we have been out at so many county fairs. And we have shared one-on-one with so many people, almost 3,000. And what a great thing it is to know that some of those people are going to spend forever with God in heaven because they've heard the gospel. They've believed and now they are reproducing themselves by sharing their faith, by letting the world know that Jesus saves, that Christ died for our sins, that He was buried, that He rose again. And by turning to Him, lives can be rearranged, homes can be changed, and hearts can be won to Christ. We want to lift the cross of Jesus Christ high. That's why we use the Christian flags as our symbol in every area that we can. Christ through you can change the world, let him be your guide. Christ through you can change the world, stay close by His side. Though fierce the battle be, He'll give you victory. Just keep your flag of faith unfurled. Christ through you can change the world. And that's why we do what we do and how it all happens together. So pray, share your faith, and know. Christ through you can change the world.
