Telling The TRUTH
062213 Telling The Truth 28 Minute Program
[music] You're listening to "Telling the Truth" from Triple T. Christian Youth Ministries, "Telling the Truth to and through teenagers." Here is Triple T. Founder and President George Dooms. "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Take heed, watch and pray, for you do not know where in the time is." Mark 1333, New King James Version, "Bears of every man everywhere." He wants us to submit to Him. He wants us to know that He will direct our paths if we will trust Him. Check out James chapter 4 verses 13 through 17 and see how our life is but of April. And we are to really learn to lean on the Lord to know what to do today toward tomorrow. God has a plan for your life. He has people who are waiting to hear the good news of the saving power of Jesus Christ and God uses people to share the message of eternal life. To those who don't know Him, but who could know Him if someone would tell them. Will you be the one that will be the truth-teller? Will you be the one that will pray with another believer or other believers and together determined to take the gospel to folk who need the Lord? You have today. You may not have tomorrow, but this is the day the Lord has made. Rejoice and be glad in it and share the good news of Jesus with people who need Him. Pray. Read God's Word and go with the gospel. Are you watching and praying today? Listen to Mark 1438, New King James. Watch and pray lest you enter into temptation. The Spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak. What about your circumstance? What about your situation on this very day? Is your spirit ready? Is your flesh weak? Are you endeavoring to serve the Lord with every fiber of your being, with every ounce of your energy, with every second of every moment of every hour of your day? Are you watching? Are you praying? Are you determining to serve the Lord? Are you endeavoring to be what God would have you to be? Are you fellowshipping with other believers? Are you having a time of prayer with them? Are you reading God's Word together? Are you deciding how you can best reach others with the gospel of the Lord Jesus? Are you being an ambassador for God in the middle of a crooked and perverse generation? Are you willing to continue to pray and have fellowship and to read and heed God's Word and then to move with the gospel to the people who need the Lord? I hope you are because this day can be the first day of eternity for someone who will trust Christ. Would you be the one to tell them how you can so go? When Jesus himself knew that he was about to embark upon a very special endeavor that God wanted to have him accomplish, this is what he did. Listen to Luke 612, New King James Version. Now, it came to pass in those days that he went out to the mountain to pray and continued all night in prayer to God. Have you ever done anything like that? To pray all night? To go isolate yourself from all the affairs of this life at this time in a world that is shattered and really decaying? Do you have a compassion for people so ardently that you will go out and pray for them and ask God to make you usable and to use you to impact people in your world for God's glory? He wants us to do that. Time alone with God and then time together with others who believe as we do that the Bible is the infallible, the changeless, inspired Word of God is the need of the hour. Reading God's Word, praying together and then taking the good news of the saving power of the Lord Jesus to someone for whom you are concerned. You could reach that person, him or her for Christ, but you have to be willing to pray and then to go. Will you? Are there people in your world who are out to do you in? Are there people that you really can't stand? Are there people that and you can fill in the blanks? Turn around in your attitude and in your heartfelt compassion for people that don't understand and may despise you. Luke 6, 27, 28, New King James says, "But I say to you who hear, love your enemies. Do good to those who hate you. Bless those who curse you and pray for those who spitefully use you." Oftentimes we are misunderstood because of our aggressive evangelism, because we want to tell people how to get to heaven and other people who are not quite with us are ready to turn against us because of what we are doing. Oftentimes God wants us to know that you and he make a majority, and God wants you and me to obey him to do what the Word of God says to do. Jesus said to go into all the world and preach, proclaim, publicize, promote the Gospel to everyone everywhere. Will you be a part of that? Will you personally be an ambassador for God no matter how many enemies you have, no matter what they are saying about you, no matter how far down they are looking about you, will you just serve the Lord anyhow, and will you love them back in spite of what they are doing? The consistent difficulty that we face in our ministry is having people willing to serve the Lord. Jesus told us what to do. He said to pray. Listen to Luke 10-2, New King James Version. Then he said to them, "The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few. Therefore, pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest." It's his harvest, and we are simply his servants. Ourself, your servants for Jesus' sake, is what I want to be, and God wants you and me to work together, I believe, to share the good news of the saving power of the Lord Jesus with people. The harvest truly is plentiful, but God wants us to know that this great harvest can be brought in when we have enough workers, people who are willing to sow the seeds of the gospel, who are willing to go and water those seeds, who are willing to go and then give an invitation to receive God's gift of eternal life by believing on the Lord Jesus and to help bring in the harvest. Will you be one of those? God can make you usable, and He will use you if you are willing. So get a prayer partner and then go together with the gospel. Someone is waiting. Then he spoke a parable to them that men ought always to pray and not lose heart. Luke 18-1, New King James Version. This is the why of the parable. To get to the hott, you have to keep reading on into the 18th chapter of Luke. But suffice it to say that men ought always to pray. Jesus said and not lose heart. Difficulties and discouragements will come. There may be those moments when you say, "Is it worth it all?" "Should I keep on keeping on?" and the answer is a resounding "Yes." Don't quit. Don't stop. Don't even pause, but keep on moving forward. Certainly you need that refreshing series of moments. You need that time alone with God, but keep your focus on people who need the Lord. Keep your determination to take the gospel to folk, always front and center. Read God's Word. Pray consistently. Pray with other believers, and then whatever you do, don't stop going with the gospel of the Lord Jesus. People desperately need the Lord. And you are the one God can make usable and use to reach them with the truth. So someone is waiting for you. Will you be the one to go today? Listen prayerfully and carefully to the New King James Version of Luke 21-36. Watch therefore and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all those things that will come to pass and stand before the Son of Man. God wants us to be aware of what's going on. He wants us to be watchful. He wants us to keep our eyes open and to listen carefully to what is happening in our world. But meanwhile, to be willing to be counted worthy. How? By sharing Jesus with people. By living a life that determines to tell others the truth. But always being in tune with the Lord by reading His Word. By basking in the fellowship of other believers with the purpose and the fortitude to take the gospel to people who need Jesus. God will make you usable and use you if you are willing. It's not somebody else but it's you that God wants to use this day to share His truth with people who need to know Him. So are you willing? God wants you and me to look around us and to know that if we are true to Him, He will be true to us. Every Saturday at 7.27 p.m. you are invited to attend a live youth event at Triple T. 13,000 US-41 North at Booneville in Harmony Road, midway between I-64 and Evansville Regional Airport. Every first Saturday, a good news club for ages 6 to 9 is available in a separate room. For more information call 812-867-2418 or visit www.tripletchristianyouth.org. [music] Come now, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell and make a profit." Whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. Instead, you ought to say, "If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that." But now you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil. Therefore, to Him who knows to do good and does not do it, to Him it is sin. When the phone rings, we never know what the news is that's going to be related to us. In the other day, I was not involved and not available, but Mary took a phone call. It was disconcerting news. A very, very special friend of our ministry had been taken to a hospice situation, and we knew that He only had a short time to live. We had made arrangements to go immediately the next day because this call came in the evening, but someone came out of town to visit that we had to spend some time with, and so time evaporated and we were not able to go. But the next day we did go, and we were able to meet with the family and learn the circumstance, and then go pray with this person a few hours before God took him home to heaven. His name, Marvin Seifert. Marvin loved the Lord God with his heart, his servant's heart, and he drove hundreds and hundreds of youths for Christ. Not with I servants as men pleasers, but a servants of Christ doing the will of God from the heart, with good will doing service to the Lord, and not to men, Ephesians 6, 6 and 7. Saturday by Saturday, Marvin Seifert drove Triple T's first traveling tiger bus, a used school bus, starting in Mount Vernon, Indiana, picking up more teenagers on Evansville's west side and under Triple T organized as dry state youth for Christ for the 727 impact event. His son Phil saved the seat for Helen Daveolt on the traveling tiger. She became Mrs. Phil Seifert. He drove his traveling tiger loaded with teenagers and a few adult leaders between Christmas and New Year's to Texas, 1971, to Florida, 1972, Virginia, 1973, in New Orleans, 1974, and on shorter trips around the tri-state and beyond. Marvin connected with Dave Swambach through Triple T and volunteered to drive a bus, taking people to and from Sunday school at Evansville's Bethel Temple. In his loving wife, Elsie, both loved the Lord and served him wherever he led them. Their ministries have touched hundreds of lives. Their regular routine was to rendezvous for Sunday dinner, sharing stories of what God was doing through their outreaches. Marvin's exceptional sense of humor was contagious, and his sly grin was spontaneous. A frequent greeting to teenagers was memorable. My name is Marvin. I guess you know yours. In memory of Marvin's untold miles of ministry, Triple T Christian Youth Ministries has established the Marvin Seifert Traveling Tiger's Memorial Fund. The fund is to accomplish the mission, telling the truth to through teenagers, to win them to Christ and train them far Christ, teaching them how to share their faith through their local churches, on their campuses, throughout their communities, and into their world wherever God leads them in their future. Marvin personified Triple T's biblical mandate. Therefore, since we have this ministry as we have received mercy, we do not lose heart. But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the Word of God deceitfully. But by manifestation of the truth, amending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God. But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. Whose minds the God of this age has blinded, who do not believe lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, whose image of God should shine on them. If we do not preach ourselves but Christ Jesus the Lord in ourselves, your bondservants for Jesus' sake. For it is the God who commended light to shine out of darkness, who has shown in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earth and vessels that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. By transporting teenagers, Marvin Seifert helped make Triple T's vision a reality during many of his 90 years, April 17, 1923, through June 7, 2013. Every youth, before turning twenty, to have an opportunity to hear the gospel with an invitation to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Although Marvin's ministry on earth has ended, it will really continue through the lives of many that he touched. God works through people. And some of those people are what we call unsung heroes. Most folk would not think of Marvin Seifert as a great ambassador of the gospel. He was quiet and he was fun and he was consistent. And week after week, month after month, year after year, even decade after decade, Marvin served the Lord at the wheel of a bus, loaded with people that he was taking to hear the gospel, taking to share the gospel, taking to learn how to share the gospel. And so what about you? What is your life like? Are you ready to say, "Only one life till soon be passed, only what's done for Christ will last, and will your life last way beyond your years because of the impact you have made on other people?" God does wonderful things. It was my opportunity to be a part of the memorial service and to share some stories about Marvin and to hear other stories about him. Again, his rise sense of humor was very, very special. And in the middle of it all, he loved the Lord with all of his heart and he gave of himself time and talent and treasure, consistently along with his wife, Elsie. People are important. God opens doors and we go through them. Last Sunday morning, it was my opportunity to share again, as I've done for probably at least 20 years, at what they call "Siam," the Southern Indiana antique machinery show, and to have a worship service for the vendors and the folk who can't go to church because they are involved there. And again, Sunday, it was a blessing to be able to share. And at least three people responded, saying, "I will admit I've sinned. I will believe on the Lord Jesus. I will tell other people I believe." And after the meeting, a lady came up and she said something very, very, very unusual. She said years ago, "I came here to this Siam worship service, and I heard you challenge us on a very special note that God has a divine design for each people, each of his people, each person, and he wants us to find out what that is." And she said, "I was going through some difficulties in the place that I was working. I was privy to information I shouldn't have known about. And I wanted to do something different. I wanted to start my own business." And that day, because of the message that I heard spoken by me there at the very unusual setting in a sheep barn, I said, "Okay Lord, I want to do what you want me to do." And she said, "My business is going forward. It's been a delight because I have been understanding what it means to have a divine design. God wants to make you usable and use you too. He has something that you can do so nobody can do quite the way you can do it if you will. And so we ask you to prayerfully consider being a tiger teammate with Triple T Christian Youth Ministries. We need people. And the more people we have, the more people we can reach. And God has opened door after door after door, but we just don't have enough wherewithal, enough warm bodies to drive the vehicles and to go and be the leaders and enough teenagers to go with the gospel to enough places where we have open doors. We're about to embark on what we call fair share, where we take the gospel to county fairs, where we give a cup of cold water in Jesus' name to people that are hot and really, really thirsty. And so it's our gift to them, to all the fair goers who want to come by. And secondly, we take a survey about teenagers. And the last three questions we ask are, if you had your best friend with you and he or she would die tonight, well here she go to heaven. Next question, if you would die tonight, would you go to heaven? The last question is, how do you know? Well, just like Marvin Seifert, you had that moment of truth when you said, "God, I've sinned it, I'm sorry, I'm turning to Jesus from my sins." And you've believed on him, you have eternal life. It's not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to God's mercies that he saves us. And so if you'll stay tuned, I'm going to share more with you how you can be a tiger teammate to help get the gospel to a whole bunch of people out across the tri-state. In Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky, like we had last Sunday morning. So stay tuned and we'll give you the way that you can be a part of this outstanding opportunity. Teams exist to enable people to work together and achieve high goals that would be out of reach for individuals working separately. Teamwork multiplies abilities and strengths. Teamwork enables individuals to complement one another and compensate for one another's lacks and weaknesses. Pat Williams of Orlando Magic fame said that in his book, "Extreme Dreams Depend on Teams." God has given us an extreme dream to reach the most possible people effectively as quickly as we can. And we are endeavoring to really put together some things in these next weeks. Between the 13th of July, we're having an event called Jesus Christ Change in the World Summit. And between that moment and December 28 of 2013, in that 25-week time span, we want to reach people everywhere. We're going to county fairs all over the tri-state. We're going to be doing some things and training some people after fair share. We're going to be training people from the Dream Center in peer evangelism so that they in turn can carry a Bible to school and can share their faith in Jesus Christ with classmates. We're going to watch God multiply that minister and we're moving toward a thing called CO2 poll, where teenagers, middle school and high school and college, will gather to flag poll at their school, on that last Wednesday of September, and pray for their teachers, for their faculty, for their fellow students, for the citizenry of their world, for the leadership in their community, and for the leadership in the United States, so people will get right with God and put Jesus in first place and make God king of everything and everyone. And so, see you at the poll is a wonderful opportunity. We'll be talking about that all during September. Then in October, we'll be going, God willing, back to the West Side Nut Club Fall Festival, and we're going to be sharing the gospel with as many people as we possibly can. Meanwhile, we'll be serving food, and we'll be having some great things happen there. And then we'll be hosting the Youth of Vangism Association, 40th Anniversary Convention, and Intensive Training for Youth Workers, here at Triple T, from the 14th of October to the 17th. Then we'll be wrapping up the tabernacle. It's open now for tours and people are lining up to get their tours together, and as people call us or stop by, then we work out the arrangements to take them on a tour with a qualified tour guide to show them Jesus in the Old Testament tabernacle. The furnishings are so authentic and so realistic, and when you get to see the tabernacle, you'll be in awe at who God is and what He's done and how He prepared the way for His Son, Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God, to take away the sins of the world. Following that, we'll be moving toward a thing called My Hope America. It's a Billy Graham Vangism Association outreach, and it will be a whole week that we will have the doors open at Triple T, and people will be reaching out to what we call their Matthews, people who need the Lord, and teenagers can bring them here, or they can take them to their homes and turn on the TV, and you can where you are, and we want to train as many people as we can. And so at Jesus Christ, change in the World Summit, we're going to have information available, and we want you to know that you're invited to any of these events. Every Saturday it happens, and especially on that day from 10 o'clock in the morning to 10 o'clock that night, on the 13th of July, it's going to be a memorable day. We're working with other ministries, and this is what God has really laid on our hearts to do. Our omnipotent omniscient God knows the possibilities now, not only through December the 28th for our 2500th consecutive Saturday, but on through 2020 and far, far beyond. We have the privilege of working with people. Our objective is to partner in youth evangelism with local congregations and ministries, challenging and training youth as tigers. Teens involved going evangelizing regularly. So if you would like to be a tiger teammate, why don't you call us or write us, and just send something. $20 qualifies you as a tiger teammate, encourager, and we have things we would like to put into your hands. We've got a copy of telling the truth, and we want to send it to you. This is TTT, 13,000, that's 1-3-0-0-0-US Highway 41 North. Evansville, Indiana, 4-7-7-2-5. You can stop by Triple T tonight, and we'll meet you personally, and we'll give you information one-on-one, and we'll even give you a copy of our New King James Bible. And we want to see you. We want to respond to you and from you. So know this, Christ through you can change the world. Every Saturday at 7.27pm, you are invited to attend a live youth event at Triple T, 13,000 US-41 North at Booneville and Harmony Road, midway between I-64 and Evansville Regional Airport. Every first Saturday, a good news club for ages 6 to 9, is available in a separate room. For more information, call 812-867-2418 or visit www.tripletchristianyouth.org.
