Telling The TRUTH
012613 Telling The Truth 28 Minute Program
[music] You're listening to "Telling the Truth" from Triple T. Christian Youth Ministries, "Telling the Truth to and through teenagers." Here is Triple T. founder and president, George Dooms. Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. James 2, 20, and 21, New King James says, "But do you want to know of foolish man that faith without works is dead? Was not Abraham our Father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? What James is trying to say here as God's Holy Spirit inspired him is to let us know that when we really put our faith into effect, works will follow. In other words, if we really believe we are going to do something about it. God wants us to have our faith placed in him completely with no reservation. But once we have our faith there in the Lord, he wants us to move forward and to accomplish something to glorify him. So when your faith is really in effect, God will help you do something to glorify him. God has a plan for you. He is a plan that you should love and respect and share God's glorious gospel. Are there those waiting for you to tell them his wonderful truth? Tell them about Abraham, how he was willing to sacrifice Isaac, but how God provided in the nick of time and God will do the same for you. Put your faith in action and tell people about Jesus. Faith in works should go hand in hand. James 2, 22, 23, the King James Version says, do you see that faith was working together with his works and by works, faith was made perfect? And the scripture was fulfilled which says, Abraham believed God and it was accounted to him for righteousness and he was called a friend of God. Yes, it was Abraham's willingness to sacrifice Isaac that allowed us to see that he put works behind his faith and believed that God would provide the answer and God did and God will for you. Always know that when your faith is placed without reservation in the Lord Jesus, God will provide for you wonderful things including life that lasts forever. But he wants us meanwhile to read his word, to talk with him and to talk with others about him and together to go to those who don't yet believe and tell them how they can also become children of God. Who do you know who needs to know about the Lord? Go today, tell them to admit that they have sinned, to believe on the Lord Jesus, to confess him publicly, to tell others the gospel story, that Christ died for our sins, was buried and rose again. You see then that a man is justified by works and not by faith only, James 2, 24, New King James. Now that's a confusing message to a lot of people because the Bible says very, very emphatically that faith provides everything for us. When we put our faith correctly in the Lord Jesus, we will do something about it. We won't just sit on the premises or stand on the promises, but we will move forward and accomplish something to bring honor and glory to the Lord. It's one thing to sit around and say, boy, that person really needs the Lord. It's another thing to go to that person and share with him or with her how he or she can know the Lord. You see, putting feet on your prayers is essential. If you're going to be a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Someone is waiting for you to fellowship with them, to share God's word with them, and to gather reading God's word, heeding God's word, to take God's word to people who need to know the Lord. The question is, will you? And the second question is, if not you who? Or, if not now, when? Behold, now is accepted time. Behold today is the day of salvation. James the Apostle was very concerned about people who didn't do something about their faith. And so he says in James chapter two, verse 26, New King James, for as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. There's something awesome about going to memorial service a visitation of funeral and seeing a body of a Christian and to know that the spirit is gone. The body is just dead. There's nothing there. It's just a shell, but the spirit lives forever, either with God or away from him. And so what we do while we are alive counts are can count for eternity. Someone is waiting for you to care enough to do the work of an evangelist, to go and share God's good news, to accomplish His purpose. Pray, have other believers pray with you, and then take the word of God to someone and tell him or her how to go to heaven. Let them know that what they need to do is to admit that they have sinned, to believe on the Lord Jesus, to confess Him publicly. And then, having told others to continue to do that, to do the work of an evangelist, to be a disciple, and to tell other people how they too, can become believers. I want you to listen to a very special word from Peter, who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation, ready to be revealed in heaven for you. First Peter 1-4, New King James Version. Kept by the power of God, how, through faith for salvation, and it's going to be revealed in heaven for you. As I go around people who have lost loved ones, and as I see the hope that they have, I am thrilled because the gospel works. And when people have seen the factor of the faith that the person who is now in heaven has left behind, they're encouraged because they know that person was not a secret believer, but a forthright person who shared God's good news. Today I viewed a 96-year-old man who was now with Jesus. And as someone said, he always was working for the Lord. He would go to a jail and get down on his knee and share with those people God's plan of salvation. That's working for God wonderfully. He didn't just do it once or twice, but consistently, week in and week out, month in and month out, year in and year out. He shared God's gospel with people who really had a need for the Lord. So the question for you is, will you? Do you know how valuable your faith can be? You're about to find out if you will stay listening to 1 Peter 1, 6 and 7, New King James Version. In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials. That the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ. There you have it. Your faith can be more precious than gold. The gold will perish, but your faith will last for all of eternity because it is God who takes your faith and allows you because of it to become His child and to dwell with Him forever. If you have admitted you have sinned and believed on the Lord Jesus and told others about Him, you are headed for heaven. Is it time now to tell someone else? Who will you tell? Someone is waiting just for you to tell Him or her that God loves them. Will you do that? How much do you care about the people who are perishing and will not go to heaven unless somebody tells them how? You can be that one, I hope you will. If you have really done that with no reservation, no holding back, a ward is coming your way. Listen to 1 Peter 1, 8 and 9, New King James, whom having not seen you love, though now you do not see Him, yet believing you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, receiving the end of your faith, the salvation of your souls. Isn't that a fantastic thing to know that your salvation is the end result of your faith? Meanwhile, if you have really trusted Jesus and you have put your faith in Him so completely, you will have a compassion for people who have not done what you have done and you will go to them with the gospel. My mother was a soul winner. She was a letter writing soul winner. She had cancer and she decided to write to every relative she had to explain to them the plan of salvation. Later, a memorial service for her uncle, I learned that he had read her letter and responded to Jesus. My mother had already gone to heaven when that happened, but I got to hear the result. Would you be willing to do something like that for a friend or a family member somewhere? I hope you will. Someone can go to heaven, if you will. Every Saturday at 7.27 p.m., you are invited to attend a live youth event at Triple T, 13,000 U.S. 41 north at Booneville and Harmony Road, midway between I-64 and Evansville Regional Airport. Every first Saturday, a good news club for ages 6 to 9 is available in a separate room. For more information, call 812-867-2418 or visit www.tripletchristianyouth.org. Giving is the right response to God's gift. Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift. This statement that can stand alone and cause people across the ages to cap a dynamic glimpse of God's goodness is really the climax of a much longer treatise on giving. Practical, pragmatic Paul was painstakingly explaining to the Corinthian Christians basic concepts on giving. He had cited the Macedonians as examples that in a great trial of affliction, the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded in the riches of their liberality. These contrasting terms laid the groundwork for the explanation, but first gave themselves to the Lord and then to us by the will of God. Then using an even greater contrast for you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that you through his poverty might become rich. The entire 8th and 9th chapters of 2 Corinthians back up the concept that the world has only two types of people, the givers and the takers, the thankful and the ungrateful. First Paul presents the purpose of giving. Then now at this time your abundance may supply their lack, that their abundance may supply your lack, that there may be quality. And the policies of giving providing honorable things not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men. Then Paul presents the principles of giving. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity, for God loves a cheerful giver and follows up immediately with the promise of giving. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you always, having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. And then comes the thanksgiving concept. Now may he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness, while you are enriched in everything for all liberality, which causes thanksgiving through us to God. For the administration of the service not only supplies the needs of the saints, but also is abounding through many thanksgivings to God. The difference between true Christianity, personified by believers in Jesus Christ, is an attitude of the sharing heart. This admonition on giving is backed up by the ultimate contrast. The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus, our Lord. The gospel is that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, and that he rose again on the third day according to the Scriptures. The basic success principles in business, in government and in life is to find a need and fill it. God saw our need, conceived in sin, didemic nature comes built in to every newborn baby, to rebel against God and all authority, but God sent his son to be virgin born, to live on earth, tempted but not yielding to temptation, to first articulate John 3.16, and then to actually die as the ones and for all sin substitute. Not to stay dead, but to triumph over death itself. What a story. The penalty is paid. You and I do not have to experience eternal death and damnation, even though we deserve it. Instead by placing our implicit trust and faith in Jesus Christ, the blood cleanses us from every sin and shortcoming. We ever committed, not just things we do that we shouldn't, but things that we should that we don't. Therefore to him who knows to do good and does not do it to him and his sin, James 4 17. Believing on Christ then makes you and me saved sinners. Now comes the opportunity to try to emulate Jesus, to be givers and not takers, to be thankful, not ungrateful, to share our faith and our treasures, our talents, our time for God's glory. We are not to give and work and help others to earn our way to heaven. Heaven is God's provision for believers and we give and work and help others because we are grateful to God and concerned about people. The greatest way to express thanksgiving to God is to share his indescribable gift with a world in need, one by one. Tigers, tiger teammates, extreme dreams depend on teams. It takes a team to encourage and large expand. The vision, every youth to have the opportunity to hear the gospel with an invitation to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ before turning 20. The objective, partner in youth evangelism with local congregations and ministries, challenging and training youth as tigers, teens involved, going, evangelizing regularly. Tiger Team Impact Evangelistic Youth Efforts happen as God opens doors. The goal? To go to 31 of the 93 Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky Countage was in 100 miles by December 28, 2013, to be triple T's 2,500 consecutive Saturday, the Lord willing. And then to go to 62 of the counties in 2014 and all 93 of the 100 mile radius counties in 2015. Triple T's Jubilee Year, going to February 6, 2016, Triple T's Golden Anniversary, the 50th year of ministry. This year-long celebration will set the tone for Triple T's second 50 year span if the Lord taries his return. Our omnipotent omniscient God knows the possibilities now through 2020 and far, far beyond. All glory goes to God. As we enlarge, every believer in Christ should pray diligently and respond to Romans 12, 1, and 2. I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service and do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, an acceptable and perfect will of God. The Bible then candidly presents the team concept. For I say through the grace given to me to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith. For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, so we being many are one body in Christ, and individually members, one of another, having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them. That's Romans 12, 3 through 6a, New King James. But you be watchful in all things. In de reflections, do the work of an evangelist fulfill your ministry, 2 Timothy 4.5. So let's expand. Teams exist to enable people to work together and achieve high goals that would be out of reach for individuals working separately. Teamwork multiplies abilities and strengths. Teamwork enables individuals to compliment one another and compensate for one another's lacks and weaknesses. Pat Williams of Orlando Magic fame said that in his book, "Extreme Dreams Depend on Teams." Triple T's executive board invites believers to join them as Tiger teammates, investing time, talent, and treasure, praying and providing resources. Tiger teammates supply triple T Christian youth ministries every aspect of what is happening. So continue to pray with us and for us and be a Tiger if you're between the ages of 10 and 19 and come for the training in the middle of February or the middle of March. And if you are an adult, be a Tiger teammate. Invest your time, your talent, your treasure. The first $20 contribution allows you to be a Tiger teammate, encourager. And we need you to be a part of all of this. And then you can move on up the ladder as God leads you to do that. And meanwhile, be praying for Tiger team impact evangelistic youth efforts in county after county across the tri-state area. 31 of them got willing this year, including in Southern Illinois, Richland County and Lawrence County, Edwards County, Wabash County, White County, Wayne County, Celine County, Gallatin County, Hamilton County, Clay County, and in Indiana, Gibson, and Posey, and Perry, and Pike, and Warwick, and Knox, and Vandenberg. And in Kentucky, Henderson, and Davies, and McLean, and several more. We want to be ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. So give us a call, but stay tuned, and we'll tell you more about how you can be a Tiger or a Tiger teammate. (upbeat music) - You're invited to come to Triple T, any or every Saturday that you can, especially tonight, if you can, or February 2, 9, 16, or 23. We're celebrating Triple T's 47th birthday all during the month of February. February and March, we're previewing Hosanna Highway happenings, and we'll be going out across the tri-state, God willing, as doors are open to go to county after county, community after community, and congregation after congregation. March 21, 22, and 23, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, Hosanna Highway will be produced here at Triple T, 727 each evening. During April and May, we'll be recruiting and training Old Testament tabernacle tour guides, and traveling tigers for fair share. On May 18, the Old Testament tabernacle, life-size replica, will open for visitors. We'll be daily tours. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, and by appointment on Saturdays and Sundays. It'll go all the way through October the 18th. Hundreds and hundreds of people visited the last time we had the tabernacle here three or four years ago, and now, God willing, we'll have it up for five months. Put it on your calendar. Bring a whole group of people. People from whatever organization you're a part of, you will be amazed as you see firsthand how God set up this tabernacle as He gave the plans to Moses. As the children of Israel were going through that awful, awful time in the desert, wandering to and from for 40 years, and yet the tabernacle was always there. May 30th through June 1, June 6th through 8, June 13th through 15, three different weekends. Thursday, Friday, Saturday, we'll be having traveling tiger minicamps, training people for fair share, and it will happen July 8th through August the 10th in Tri-State County after Tri-State County, fairs and street festivals. We continue all summer, moving right up into the fall. See if the poll will happen September 25, then October 14 through 17, the Youth Evangelism Association 40th Anniversary Convention, and youth leaders intensive training, including tiger team impact on October 15th, an awards dinner on October 17 with our friend, Dr. Clyde Duppen. It's gonna be a great happening and people coming from across America to be with us this coming October. November is our month of thanks. Thanks to God for tiger team participants, tiger teammates and partners in youth evangelism. We'll be celebrating Jesus birthday all during December, December the 7th, our special guest will be trumpeter, Chia's writer. Then December 28, as I said earlier, triple T's 2500 consecutive Saturday, the Lord willing, then a year from now, February 1, 2014, triple T turns 48. February 7, 2015 begins triple T's jubilee year, going to February 6, 2016, triple T's 50th anniversary. So we've got a year before us that is really, really exciting because of the possibilities that are there. I want you to be a part of all this. And again, you are invited to come any and every Saturday that you can and bring people with you. No matter what age, we want you with us because we have something for you to see and something for you to hear and something for you to do. He who continually goes forth weeping, bearing seed for sowing shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him. Psalm 126, 6, New King James. Seed time and harvest, sowing and reaping is a very biblical concept. The word harvest is used a total of 68 times in the New King James version. 53 in the Old Testament and 15 in the New Testament. The first time is Genesis 8, 22, while the earth remains, seed time and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, and day and night shall not cease. I want you to know that God is a plan for you and it can be your seed time. It can be our harvest time. We need you to prayerfully consider being a tiger teammate. Will you do that? Call us or write us or come by Triple T. Any Saturday beginning tonight. Christ through you can change the world.
