Telling The TRUTH
010513 Telling The Truth 28 Minute Program
[MUSIC PLAYING] You're listening to "Telling the Truth" from Triple T. Christian Youth Ministries, "Telling the Truth to and Through Teenagers." Here is Triple T. founder and president, George Dooms. Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. God's word has a lot to say about Abraham and his faithfulness. Listen to Hebrews 11, verses 9 and 10, New King James. By faith, he sojourned in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise. For he waited for the day which has foundations whose builder and maker is God. Tremendous faith. What a wonderful thing it is to know that Abraham believed God, and he was able to wait for him, waiting for that day when the foundations built by God would be revealed to him. God wants you and me to have that kind of faith. Is it possible? No, humanly speaking, but spiritually speaking, yes it is. If you and I get our hearts in tune with God and believe like Abraham did, then God is going to do some special things for us. He will open doors of opportunity. He will provide possibilities. God wants you and me to reach people for him. Read God's Word, read about Abraham, and then pray. God make me usable and use me, and he will. Do you believe it? You can. Listen to this short story about Abraham's wife, Sarah. He was 11/11 in King James Version. My faith, Sarah herself, also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age because she judged him faithful, who had promised. There you have a very wonderful story. She judged him faithful. She found God to be faithful. He had promised, and she believed that he was going to do something beyond her fondest imagination. She was going to conceive and give birth to a child when it was way, way past the time when she should be able to do humanly this thing because God is God. He can do whatever he wants to do. And he promised Abraham and Sarah they would have a son. He made it possible. Maybe your possibility isn't quite so dramatic, but God has a plan for you, and he has some things that are miraculous in your future if you will trust the Lord. Put your faith completely in him, read his word, pray, fellowship with other believers, and then go with the gospel. Take advantage of every opportunity to tell people that you care about about Jesus. Remember the song, "This World Is Not My Home. I'm Just Passing Through." Listen to Hebrews 11/13, in King James. Already several stories have been shared in the first few verses of chapter 11. And now we have this very, very special message from the Lord. Listen. These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. That's right. You and I are strangers, too, if we will admit it, if we will acknowledge it, heaven is our home. But meanwhile, God has a plan for you and me. God has a divine destiny for each believer. So what we have to do is to be totally in tune with him, to pray, to read his word, to acknowledge who he is, and what he says, and then to go with the gospel, believing that as we share, as we sow the seeds of faith, as we let people know that Jesus saves, some people will not only hear, they will respond. It's up to you and to me to pray with and fellowship with other believers. And then having read the word of God, praying diligently, tell people how they can know the Lord. By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come. Hebrews 11, 20, New King James. Some people exercise more faith than others. For whatever we do with that faith seed that we replace from us to God's hands, God will honor it and bless it, even if it is as small as a grain of mustard seed. God promises and we need to believe his promises. Do you believe that God is capable of doing exceedingly abundantly above all that you ask or think? God's word says he is. So let's read the word of God intelligently, expectively, and let's not only read it and believe it, but let's share it with other people who need to know who God is. What he says, what he is willing to do in the hearts and lives of those who will trust him. Let's pray consistently. Let's pray alone and together with other believers. And then let's tell people how they can go to heaven, how they can have a place forever with the creator of the universe. Somebody is waiting for you to tell them. Will you? You have to rearrange schedules sometimes. You have to say no to some things and yes to others there to become what God wants you to become when and where. Jacob, also known as Israel, had 12 sons, but one was very, very special. Listen to Hebrews 1121, New King James Version. By faith Jacob, when he was dying, blessed each of the sons of Joseph and worshiped, leaning on the top of his staff. A very dramatic scene is painted here. The word in God's word, by faith. That's the most important part of the whole thing. By faith Jacob, when he was dying, he knew that his life was already almost past, and yet he wanted to do something. Joseph had some sons, so Jacob blessed each one of Joseph's sons, and he worshiped God, leaning on the top of his staff. Are you leaning on the Lord? Are you understanding that God wants you to lean on his word, to lean on the power and practicality of prayer? God wants us to know that he loves us, but he wants us to love him back, and he wants us to trust him. Will you just read God's word, and heed God's word? There are mysteries there. There are wonderful promises to be uncovered, and to be applied and put into effect by you. What kind of legacy are you leaving? Listen to Hebrews 1122, New King James Version. By faith Joseph, when he was dying, made mention of the departure of the children of Israel, and gave instructions concerning his bones. Do you have a plan for your final resting place when something happens to you? Are you ready in case today is the last day of your life? Are you prepared to spend forever with God? What are you going to leave behind? You can't take it with you, so your final will and trust should include your testimony. You should let people know that you did believe with all of your heart that Jesus Christ is God the Son, the Son of God, and you were willing to share the good news with people who need the Lord. I hope you are leaving a wonderful legacy. It may be years from now, decades from now, or maybe today or tomorrow. Make sure that people know that you love God with all of your heart, and people will respond. God can use you. Would you let him? It really is in your hands. It's totally up to you. It's a decision that you and only you can make. Make it prayerfully, but make it deliberately. All people, great or small, begin as babies. You did, I did. Even God's son, Jesus, did, and so did Moses. The great leader of Israel started out quite small. He was 1123, looking James tells us, "By faith, Moses, when he was born, "was hidden three months by his parents "because they saw he was a beautiful child, "and they were not afraid of the king's command." It takes real, real faith to trust the Lord over people, especially powerful people. But that's what God wants you and me to do, just like Moses' parents did. We are not to be afraid of any command no matter from whence it comes. If it is not pleasing to God, God has a perfect plan for you and for me, for the entire world, but he wants us to trust him personally. He wants us to share Christ. He wants us to go with the gospel. He wants us to pray. He wants us to be in fellowship with other believers, and he wants us to just saturate ourselves with the word of God. When we do, wonderful things can happen. Are you willing? Every Saturday at 7.27 p.m., you are invited to attend a live youth event at Triple T, 13,000 U.S. 41 North at Boone Building Harmony Road, midway between I-64 and Evansville Regional Airport. Every first Saturday, a good news club for ages six to nine is available in a separate room. For more information, call 812-867-2418 or visit www.tripletchristianyouth.org. (upbeat music) Start where you are. The key action plan begins with prayer. Pray without ceasing. Ask, and it shall be given unto you. Seek, and you shall find. Knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For he who asks, receives. He who seeks shall find. He who knocks, to him it shall be opened. Secondly, seek God's will. Beyond that, goal setting. Seek God's will, and then set your goals. That's third. Fourth, start where you are. Not where you wish you were. Not where you have been. But where are you? Where are you physically? Well, the day, physically, I am in Vandenberg County, Indiana, just outside of Evansville, Indiana, in the state of Indiana, in the tri-state area of Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky, the Midwestern section of the United States, in the United States of America, in the Northern Hemisphere, the continent of North America, and you and I are on planet earth. In case you wondered where you were, that's where you are. Now, if you're listening by radio or podcast, and you're someplace else other than those places I just described of Vandenberg County, Indiana, and state of Indiana, et cetera, just find out where you really are. You have to start where you are, wherever it is. You have to start where you are geographically, but also physically. Where are you physically? What kind of body do you possess? How is the physical you? Where are you mentally? Are you with me? Are we together? Or are you someplace else in the world of daydreams? Mentally, where are you? Start where you are in your mind, and then start where you are socially. Who are your friends? Who are you next to? Who are you close to? Who are you associating with? What kind of world is your world socially speaking? Where are you? Start where you are socially, and now the very important one. Where are you spiritually? Are you a Christian? Have you been born again? Have you admitted you have sinned? Have you believed on the Lord Jesus? Have you confessed him publicly? Do you know him whom to know a right is life eternal? Are you a believer in Christ? Where are you spiritually? When you take this inventory, and you do this checkup on the real you, and identify your position, then it's time to really start. In the Old Testament in the book of Jeremiah, Jeremiah was in a particular position, and God spoke to him. In Jeremiah 33, 3, the Bible says, "Call to me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things which you do not know." In Jeremiah 33, the Bible says, "Moreover the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah a second time, while he was still shut up in the court of the prison, saying, "Thus says the Lord who made it, the Lord who formed it, to establish it, the Lord is his name." When Jeremiah was in that position, God sent him a message. Jeremiah, start where you are. Here's what to do. I'll repeat, "Call to me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know." Before you move from where you are, you need to call on the Lord, and when you do, he will show you what's next. He will give you the guidance and direction that you need in order to impact your world for Jesus Christ. Starting where you are means that you have to take an inventory again of all those particular parts of you, and then you have to determine what you're going to do where you are. So where are you? I hope you are in a position to say, "God, make me usable and use me. I will give back to you all that you have entrusted to me. I will one more time present my body a living sacrifice. Here I am, Lord. Send me where you want me to go from where I am." As we've shared with you this whole key idea, keep evangelizing youth. This concept is a very practical plan. It's designed to help you communicate Christianity. It's extremely flexible, and therefore it's adaptable to all situations, including yours, not an end to itself, but a means to an end. Its development depends on your action. It's as expansive as you desire it to be. Its only limitation is your lack of involvement. Without you, it is worthless. With you, it is potentially as high as your sky, as wide as your world, as deep as your dedication. So where are you? We're sharing a tried and pre-formula for effective youth of angelism. Every premise of the plan is based on four imperative fundamentals. One, the Bible is the Word of God. It is meant to be followed consistently. You cannot be an outstanding Christian worker without personally adhering to the concepts of the scriptures, beginning with an individual intimate relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Secondly, prayer is basic. It's a daily necessity for your development and growth as a Christian. Prayer changes things and prayer changes people, believing always proceeds receiving. Somebody has said seeing is believing. No, believing is seeing in advance what God is going to do. Third, obeying God's Word predicates participating in God's work. It involves the total you, the mental, the physical, the social, the spiritual. Four, communicating Christianity is the number one task of the committed Christian. There is no such thing as commitment without communication. There is nothing that works like communicating the Christian message. God has told us to go. Jesus said go and we are to go with the gospel to the people who need to know about Jesus Christ. How does it all work? When we start where we are, we look around us and certainly we see ourselves in this particular position and someone has well phrased it. Draw a circle around where you are and step into that circle and say God, start using the person in this circle to impact the world starting now today and then bring into that circle other people and expand the circle. Then as you start where you are, you now have other people working. You have an adult, a committed Christian, one young person who's a guy, one young person who is female and then another which can be either. And so your circle has expanded to four and you start where you are to reach out, to bring other people into your circle and then you expand your circle. And as you contemplate not only finding out where you are, you need to determine what to do about it. We'll be sharing more of these details but at this very moment, you need to make a list of what you need to impact that area where you are and the area you are trying to reach for Jesus Christ geographically. And then you need to delegate the necessary people to carry out the plan. You target your publics and determine how to best spread the word about your event to the people you want to reach. You make personal preparation and then group preparation. And again, you simply list what is needed. What do you need? What tools do you need? What items do you need to really put together this tiger team impact, evangelistic youth effort. It's going to reach out to a whole bunch of people in a short time. In a matter of just a few weeks from now, the impact can happen and the only way the impact will really become effective is for you to have all the tools gathered in one place at one time where you are. And then you need to get everybody together, take an inventory and then determine what else you need. What your impact becomes is really up to you. You need to do a lot of praying. You need to determine what would be the best possible way to reach the most possible people, most effectively, where you are. So will you do that? There are some things that you need to just check out on. Are you going to have a music group, a drama team? What are you going to do? Who is going to do it? And how effective is it's going to be? Make certain that your impact is very effective for God's glory. As you look around you where you are, make certain in the middle of that circle of you and those people that are with you to help get the job done, that you are saturating that circle with prayer. Prayer is talking to God. Talk to God specifically. Thank Him from what is already done. Tell Him what you really believe needs to happen. What's the desire of your heart? How many people do you want to try to have at your event? Thank God in advance for what He's going to do, for the provisions for your impact. And then continue your habit of thanking God for what He has done, what He is doing, and what He is going to do to get you in a very special prayer circle with other people who believe too. Stay tuned and we'll continue developing the impact. (gentle music) As God opens doors, local church partners and youth evangelism can produce Tiger Team Impact Evangelistic Youth Efforts. We're hoping to have this happen very, very soon in Wabash County, Illinois, Mount Carmel, my hometown. What's it be praying about this? Again, we have connections with a number of people who are now Tiger Team involved by becoming teammates and we have them from several different churches in Mount Carmel. Our goal is to go to 31 tri-state counties during 2013, 62 counties in 2014 and 93 counties in 2015 with a Tiger Team Impact Evangelistic Youth Effort. Throughout 2013, the search will continue every Saturday for praise bands, drama teams, singing groups, and individuals in art, speech, writing, drama, instrumental in vocal music, audio, video, web and other communications. We're gonna be in contact with Christian colleges, universities. We're going to bring groups here to be able to showcase those particular institutions of higher learning that are Bible-based and are evangelistic in their efforts. And together, we're going to watch the Lord do some very, very special things. So we need your prayers as we think about an impact. Remember, impact means I must personally advance Christianity today. It takes people working together to form the team. Tiger Team participants will be trained in peer evangelism and leadership and they will be challenged to become creative Christian communicators. The key action plan provides biblical and practical youth evangelism, training and resources for adult youth workers, coaches. And we're excited about all of this. And so be praying, when more 10 to 19 year olds become tigers and more adults become tiger teammates, thousands of unreached youth can hear the gospel, turn to Jesus from their sins and receive God's gift of eternal life. We hope that you will be praying much about this possibility in Mount Carmel, Illinois. We're going to be letting you know where and when we'll have some get-togethers, we're going to have some brainstorming sessions, we're going to pursue some possibilities and we're going to see what God would have happen and when and where. So be much in prayer about this and let us hear from you. Please check our website. It's TTTChristianYouth.org. Look us up and then call us. We have some things to send to you if you will let us hear from you. We need to know who you are. Give us your phone number, your address, your email. Our address is TTT Christian Youth Ministries, 13,000, that's 1-3-0-0-0, US Highway 41 North, Evansville, Indiana, 4-7-7-2-5. Our telephone number is area code 812-867-2418. Every Saturday night, we have an event. It begins at 727 PM, precisely at 727 PM. You can come early, but don't be late. And then it's a very dynamic happening with icebreakers, involvements, inspiration, investment opportunities, impacts themselves and information. And so God's doing great things and some of the world's greatest teenagers and preteens are coming every single Saturday night. We hope that you will avail yourself of the opportunity of being among us. Tonight will be a very special night. Tonight will be the night when we really turn the corner getting things ready for a whole new year. So come on out. It won't be a huge night, but it's going to be a significant night, a very special time for each person who gathers together. And we hope that you will let other people know that next Saturday at the same time on this same station, we're going to be sharing more details about Tiger Team Impact, about what's going to happen, when and where. And hopefully by then, we'll be able to invite you to a specific time and place where we can get together and know what God would have us to do as we cooperate with one another. We have, as I've shared before, a culture of cooperation. We want to partner with local churches that believe the Bible. Christ, through you, can change the world.
